You need to be VERY AWARE of the Pharmacy hours. Just because this is a drug store, does not mean that the Pharmacy hours are the same (or close) to the store hours. I checked the store hours online and they were listed as open until 10:00 pm. Store hours. Pharmacy hours weren't listed, and I mistakenly believed the Pharmacy would also be open. My husband suffered severe pain that resulted in a trip to to the ER and follow-up visit with our primary care physician. The doctor prescribed additional pain medication, so we went to Walgreens to get it filled. Walgreens wouldn't fill it without an ICD code to go with the medication. This isn't our first trip to the pharmacy but it was the first time the pharmacist asked for an ICD code, when the prescription was written on a legitimate pad with signature on it. The doctor's office was closed, so without this verification, my husband would have to live with the pain for 24hr. The pharmacist suggested doubling ibuprofen, which is ludicrous, and not an acceptable solution because it puts additional stress on my husband's kidney and digestives, and because if ibuprofen worked, the doctor would've prescribed ibuprofen. We already waited an hour for the two of three medications, so this on top of the fact they lost my medical insurance card just made me lose any patience with them. We went CVS across the street, and they were more than happy to take my money, my insurance card, and fill my prescription, so my husband can be comfortable and pain-less. read more

I was in excruciating pain and provided the number to contact my dr. to inquire about the prescription they didn't receive and they did nothing to help. I never leave reviews and I really don't have the time for this but........Pharmacist STOLE 30 pills of 30mg Adderall from my husband. We tried to get the police involved, but there is nothing they can do, so filed with DEA. My husband has been on his prescription for over 10 years. We are new to the area and have only filled with this location 2 times, but neither time did they ask for ID when either dropping or picking up. Controlled substances aside, this pharmacy seems dangerous in their lack of care. The cashier was very sweet and that is appreciated, however, I want to know that I can trust the source for medication I am ingesting into my body. SCARY experience as other Walgreens we have filled with before have been amazing...Scott's Valley needs some more reliable options for our health. We are very disturbed by this. A wonderful town like this deserves a better pharmacist as I can't recall the last time I was treated so poorly by someone I need to be able to trust with my family's health. Went in to pick up my mom's prescription the other day and the wait was a little too much, but i understand. The Pharmacist was very nice and professional. Mom's insurance covered the whole thing which was awesome :) Good place to get your prescriptions for cheap if you have Insurance! read more

Pharmacy staff has always been helpful (yes, you usually have to wait a bit, but that's true at CVS and RiteAid, too, and why should anyone expect to always be #1?). they have products that the other stores don't have, so wider selection for cosmetics, especially, plus good prices, easy and ample parking. read more

This is for the Pharmacy only. This is the worst Pharmacy I've been to in a LONG TIME. Their lines inside to fill/pickup prescriptions, as well as the drive-up, have very long wait times. I'm not able to stand up for that long. It's very painful. On the weekends, they have floater pharmacists and it's even worse. Tonight when I called to see if they had my medication in stock before I drove 45 minutes to get there, they said they couldn't check stock on my medication over the phone, So now they are requiring me to drive 1-1/2 hours JUST TO SEE if I can fill the same prescription I have been filling there for over a year! What kind of service is this??? I would go somewhere else if I could afford it. ;( read more

Insurance + pharmacy mixup resulted in a surprise $80 scrip.. When insurance said I had to go back to pharma for refund I did. First they told me it was a done deal. But with kind explanation and requests for further investigation, they quickly found someone (Nicole??) to investigate further. Thank you for the refund, Walgreens. It paid some bills. read more

best pharmacy. if you think it sucks being a patient in the pharmacy imagine how the employees feels. it must be very difficult being yelled at and belittled all day long. Treated like 10 minutes to wait for a drug is going to kill you. you wait longer for a pizza. do you complain that your pizza will take 30 minutes to an hour? do you go to the doctors office and have to wait for your doctor to be available and constantly stare at the staff and ask a million times where the doctor is? Do you know that they are a pharmacy and not a drive thru flu clinic that can get you in and out in 5 seconds? People are inpatient and ridiculous. Treat the staff with respect. read more

I like the SV Walgreens. I'm glad it's not fancy, I'm glad of its simple layout and 90 percent of the employees are helpful and nice. I don't need Nordstorm service, but a couple times they gave it to me and I was glad. I like Walgreen's WAY more than CVS/Longs. I get the creeps when I visit that store...it used to be good when it was just Longs. Back to Walgreens...I give this store the cat's meow rating for help me out, fair prices, convenience and location. The only ding is the parking lot. I don't know why I continue to give these people my money. Perhaps it's because I can walk to it from my house, perhaps it's because I have 9 prescriptions for my father here and it would be a hassle to change pharmacies. I am not blaming the local employees because they are doing their best. But to go into the store on a Tuesday evening at 6pm after a long days work, discover that the pharmacy is open, (yay) but the ONLY pharmacist on duty is on break. ok fine. But my prescription is ready. Cant i just pay you and get my pills and go? Sorry ma'am, you need to come back in 30 minutes because we can't sell you your medicine until the pharmacist comes back. What??? Gone are the days of a pharmacist remembering your name, face and prescription, even worse apparently gone are the days you can pick your prescription up during regular business hours. Really rude pharmacy assistant. Pharmacist even worse. Had valid prescription called in from my primary care but the refused to fill it because it was "too soon" based on last refill. Again, it was a new script! Friday night, no way to get in touch with doc, and these 2 were nothing but smug and dismissive, and it wasn't like I was asking for OxyContin or even Vicodin. A no answer is ok. I get rules, but lack of courtesy is what provokes this review. Btw, I've used this pharmacy for over 5 years and it's just in the past few months that the attitude of the staff has changed from very helpful to downright unpleasant. read more

I got a prescription from my doctor and used the app on my phone to see how much the various pharmacies charged. Walgreens had the lowest price so I had it filled there. When I picked it up, the charge was four times higher than the price quoted. They refused to do anything about it and I had to pay the higher price. read more

I spend way too much time picking up prescriptions. Not my favorite thing to do. But I have to say it's way less painful since we switched to Walgreens in Scotts Valley. The other option in town consistently did not have my orders ready. I had even begun to call ahead of time to find out if they had really been filled. Still I would get there and oops some of mine were filled and some where not. Come back later. Once my prescription was wrong. I went home with the wrong strength of liquid medication that is used in a Nebulizer. Fortunately I did not need a treatment that day. The next day I got a call from the pharmacist to tell me to bring it back that it was wrong. Needless to say this shook me up but there was no sign of concern from the pharmacist. That's when I changed pharmacies. I have never, in over two years, had this happen at Walgreens. Their service, both inside the store and at the drive thru window, has been excellent. Once when my insurance would not pay for a very expensive medication the clerk told me she would try to find a discount for me. She did! To the tune of $400! Hard to not like a place that does that. The store is not large, I wish it was bigger, but the prices are good and the staff friendly and helpful. The cosmetic counter workers always remind me that they can also check me out. Nice. read more
