Unacceptable pharmacy. The prescription for my sisters c-section was submitted over 24 hours before she was discharged. I went to pick them up for her when she was on her way home (30 hours after submission), the pharmacist said they were not ready yet, and wouldn't be filled today because they were FOUR days behind on fills. They wouldn't even fill it while I waited, because I showed up 20 minutes before 5pm, and they were "too far behind to fill it." It is unacceptable to keep anyone post-op waiting for meds, let alone not being able to fill the prescription to keep up pain management. The best answer from the pharmacist was "we're sorry, you can call your doctor and get the prescription sent to Watsonville," in a very passive aggressive tone. Note it was now past 5pm (probably could have filled it in the time it took to answer my questions). I'm sorry - it shouldn't take longer than 3 hours MAX to get a prescription filled, especially for such a common Rx. read more

The pharmacy is horrible. You should bring a sleeping bag and pillow. There's no way you will ever get out of there any sooner than 3 hours even if your script is ready. It's crazy that the upper management does nothing to alleviate the situation. Why they don't hire more people is beyond me. It's ridiculous. They ignore the fact that the line is constantly out the door inside and at the drive up. I've waited 2 hours in the drive up many many times. Inside I've waited 2-3 hours or more. I go home and have them call me sometimes. That's how stupid it is. I've written letters. I've complained. I guess the district managers are brain dead. It's appalling the way they just let it go the way it is. They should all be fired. Every single employee above the store manager should be fired immediately and replaced with someone that has more then one brain cell. I mean it's ridiculous. I will never shop here again. Tonight, as a cashier was ringing me up for my one item, a supervisor comes over and tells the cashier she needs to do this at another register because he needed it for a customer he walked over. It was going to be a 20 second transaction, and "Daniel" the supervisor made the cashier and I move to the cosmetics register which didn't work so he could ring up another customer. I have spent more time on the phone with their corporate office just to get a prescription. Staff does not know anything about the website and I was told to just download an app. Very rude, both the pharmacist and the kid who answers the phone. I received emails from them threatening to cancel my order but when I call them at the suggestion of the corporate office they know nothing about it. It could be my insurance, it could be something else. Bottom line, website is down for a week, nobody locally, corporate or even live chat has a clue. Looks like I am going to Rite Aid. read more

Noticing a trend here in the yelp reviews of this Walgreens? A trend that involves screwing up people's prescriptions? Yes, and it has happened to me as well. Being told my prescription wasn't ready when I could see it on the shelf, being told that my doctor hadn't called in a prescription when in fact they HAD and it was just that the pharmacy was out of the medication. Also, with the repeated failures to offer a pharmacist consultation? Hell, I don't even think they HAVE an actual pharmacist here. However, I have had good luck at the photo counter. Orders processed promptly and with pleasant service. You can send your photo order electronically and pick up the photos in as little as an hour. I think they should have the guy who does the photos go back and run the pharmacy. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for today for my booster shot. When I showed up to get it, they told me that no one came in today to work so the pharmacy was closed. This was the only day I could get my booster before heading back to college. Really disappointed that they didn't at least send an email when they realized no one came in. read more

The pharmacy there has the worst service I have ever encountered at a pharmacy. They never answer the phone but instead they put you through a menu system that never gets results. I needed to have some antibiotics filled right away but couldn't get through to have them picked up. I ended up having them filled at CVS. Walgreens still shows them in progress. I am now considering having all our family's prescriptions filled at some other pharmacy. Hopefully I will be able to move them to Right Aid in Felton. read more

My wife went in to Walgreens and when checking out discovered that NUMEROUS sale items were not ringing up with the sale price. The short story is she had to get out of line, after reaching the front, twice in order to verify prices and they still failed to adjust them. I called to complain and was told by the "shift manager" on duty that she was aware of the price scanning issue, "it's not the employee's fault", and that "corporate is all screwed up". I advised her that she needs to close the store, as opposed to over charging folks, many of whom are older and not aware of the scam. As she rudely hung up on me in the middle of our conversation, she said, and I want to be accurate, either " people have plenty of money" or presumably about the older people "they have plenty of money". I was blown away by this! I called back, spoke to someone who identified themselves as "the cashier" and was told that the "shift manager" (the earlier employee I spoke with) refused to take my call. I did not shout, use profanity, or threaten, and simply wonder how these employees are trained! The Store seems to have a low rating on here! I am appalled that Walgreens KNOWINGLY over charges and allows it to go on! Don't use them and if you have to go in, check your receipt carefully. read more

This store's pharmacy is the worst I have ever gone to. Originally I switched over to Walgreens several months ago when my insurance stopped paying for my prescription and Walgreens accepted GoodRX coupons. First time I used Walgreens they wanted full price but after contacting GoodRX, t hey reduced the price, second, and third month no problem. This time though, pharmacist claimed I needed to pay full price since the other pharmacists made a mistake. How many pharmacists work here? Ok I know as a senior when I am being exploited, so I am moving my script back to my old provider RiteAid. So I go to get my last prescription after calling it in but it's not ready! They tell me due to insurance not paying they just blew it off. You would think they would at least give you call about their decision but in this episode, you are just not important as a customer. Well I am changing over no more sourly pharmacists to deal with. I hope this review is read and they realize that we as clients deserve more respect and better communication. read more

The best local drug store you could hope for. Great selection, reasonable prices and an ideal location. But, the best part is their drive through pharmacy. As we age it seems like we are making more and more trips to the doctor. This often results in needing to pick a prescription or two. It is so nice to be able to swing by and pick it up without getting out of the car. read more

Wow this place has horrible customer service. I was in the ER last night until 3 am with severe pain. My dr prescribed me medicine that I needed to take the next day to help. I called Walgreens first thing in the morning, still in extreme pain, and explained the situation to the pharmacy. The lady said I'd have to bring in a prescription in person before she could help. I said that I could bring it in but can she at least check if they have what I was prescribed so that I can make sure they have what I need otherwise I'll go somewhere else since im in a lot of pain. She said no and that she can't help me. I explained that I had just got out of the hospital at 3am and her response was that she needed and in person prescription to even check and see if they had what I was prescribed. No "I'm sorry to hear you're so sick" or "let me ask and see what I can do to help" I then called rite aid in Felton and they did in fact check to see that they had what I was prescribed and that I just needed to bring in the prescription when I get there. The lady was really nice saying that she was sorry to hear about my night and would start getting everything together now. I like to wander around aimlessly and purchase cosmetics that I don't really want or need but satisfy some unfulfilled longing. Walgreens in Scott's Valley is pretty good for this. It never seems overly crowded the way CVS does at times. Of special mention is Lynette, who has been working at this Walgreens for quite some time now...she is awesome. Whenever she is working, she will go out of her way to actually talk to me like a real person and not just some customer that she HAS to greet and be nice to. There is another woman who works the register at times, I don't know her name, she wears a high pony tail on her head, she is also always in good spirits and with a kind word. Only four stars instead of five because, unfortunately they don't have EVERYTHING I want and at times I am forced to go to CVS to purchase a drugstore item or two that Walgreens does not carry. read more

If I could give the pharmacy department minus 100 stars I would. Never answer the telephones; don't have the meds needed (had to go to Walgreens in Santa Cruz), have to wait in line every time because they are understaffed and have no idea of what it means to work "SMART". They have one line for picking up meds, getting the COVID shot, and testing for COVID. The testing for COVID paperwork takes on an average of 20 minutes (timed them while waiting in line). Then while the ONE cashier they have is doing all the above, another cashier comes in and starts putting the meds into their bins, while there are at least 15 people in line. Really?? Why doesn't Walgreens get this S*** together and have a separate line for COVID paperwork, testing and giving the shot, and another line to pick up meds? DUH!! They are beyond common sense and need to revamp their procedures. Oh, every person in front of me who was getting the COVID shot had to wait for a minimum of guess?? 20 minutes to a half-hour. They all had appointments!!! If I did not experience this I would not have believed it. In this day and age when everything can be delivered these guys are trying to reinvent the wheel. read more

This Walgreens twice processed my 3 month prescription with only 1 unit, promised two more. What that does is cause a dramatic INCREASE in my COPAY AND the insurance company will not cover another until its used up. Compliants to management no results. WORSE, they short filled a prescription for allergy and refused to admit it. I have only 10 pills left, my insurance company says I should have 45 left based on its authorization. What are they doing, selling on black market? Save yourself, go to Costco so you don't have to deal with incompetance. read more

It's clear that this isn't a great place to work and they don't treat their employees well; folks are consistently miserable and unhelpful. I attempted a FedEx drop-off at this location today. I rang the bell for service at the desk, and two employees came over (didn't greet me or say a word), looked at their Walgreens devices for 5-10 minutes (again without informing me of what was going on), and then said their system wasn't working and directed me to Postal Annex. At Postal Annex, the lovely and friendly employees said they get frustrated Walgreens customers all the time, and that their FedEx system didn't work either but they had developed a workaround. They said they had informed Walgreens of the workaround multiple times, but folks just weren't interested. I've had similar experiences at this Walgreens before-- I always leave depressed and sad! Walgreens charged my mother $35.58 for 30 tablets of a new medicine. I didn't realize it was an over the counter medicine in which she can get 190 tablets for $16.00. The pharmacist wouldn't give her a refund until I insisted. I discovered that insurance companies will sometimes pay for over the counter meds, but in this case it was more expensive. Don't feel rushed, and always check and ask questions before you leave the drive through window. read more

Roxanne was the person who kept answering the pharmacy phone today. I had horrible service from her! I was asking why I had to pay for my birth control pills yesterday and why my insurance didn't cover it since my prescription was refilled a year ago. To my knowledge that means my insurance has paid it and I had one more refill to pick up. I had my boyfriend pick up my prescription and I have no idea what they said to him but he had to pay $36.00 for my pills. First of all I'm not in the medical and insurance industry or a pharmacist to know about all the odds and ends to these issues. So when I called today asking about this issue Roxanne got defensive right away and told me I needed to call my insurance and there's nothing she could do. All she said was that I needed to file a claim with my insurance to get my refund because my prescription was already picked up? I called my insurance and they said that I really didn't need to call them the pharmacist should have just updated my insurance information and I should get a refund up to 7 days of updating my insurance. As long as I had insurance when I picked up my pills which is true. So, I then called back the pharmacy and Roxanne picked up again. She was impatient with me to give her my information and when I couldn't find what she was asking for she was going to hang up on me and tell me to call back my insurance. I found the info as she was trying to make an excuse to hang up on me again. Once my insurance went thru she confirmed that and the hung up on me as I was in the middle of asking her to contact my doctor to refill my pills for the year. I had to call this pharmacy back three times because she kept hanging up on me. The third time I called back I asked her what her name was and if I can speak to her manager. All she did was put me on hold and then answer the phone again after 3 mins and I told her I'm waiting to speak with her manager still. She then replied that her manager was running around the building. So if the manager is reading this Roxanne is not a pleasant cashier/pharmacist. And this Walgreens in not based in San Francisco or a big city where there's lot of foot traffic to be impatient with customers. Very bad work ethics from Roxanne. I've always had good service here in person and over the phone shouldn't be any different. read more

Ok well I have something good to say about the Scotts Valley Walgreens. Yes, the pharmacy has changed over the last year is so but the regular staff does a fantastic job and does there best to accommodate the customers. As far as the checkers up front I want to give kudos to Lynette. When I was done shopping in the store, I came up front to check out. Lynette was checking customers out at the main register and there was a very long line! So I chose the short line at the photo register which only had 3 people in line with little to purchase. I turned around a few times as I waited to check out and noticed what the last person in Lynette's line looked like. When my purchase was completed I turned to leave and Lynettes line was completely gone! I remarked to her as I walked out of the store, "Wow! You were really fast! I should have picked your line. I've noticed a significant turn over in staff in the last year or so. Lynette is a real asset to your store. She is always polite, helpful and efficient. She deserves recognition for how hard she works, she knows where things are in the store and how reliable she is. read more

It's convenient. That's the main reason why I go to this Walgreens. And the candy selection is decent because they sell Haribo gummies. I'm starting the question the pharmacy though. Recently they gave me the wrong prescription medication, and I was the one who caught the error. That's BAAAAAAD...And about 80% of the time that I pick up a prescription, I'm never asked if I would like a consult with the pharmacist. If I had had a consult with the pharmacist, they would have realized that they had given me the wrong medication. The wait for prescriptions to be filled can be pretty long too. read more

I've been using Walgreens for years. The Pharmacists are superior to CVS. The current managing Pharmacist is friendly, knowledgeable, & tech savvy. He takes his time when answering questions you may have. The entire staff is very friendly. If a newer tech talks to a customer in a way that is inappropriate (gives a quick answer to appease them, not realizing the public is intelligent & knows their medicine), the problem is handled by the Pharmacy Manager & you see a more "customer friendly" tech the next time. For consults, make sure that who you are speaking to really IS the pharmacy manager or a pharmacist. The tech's are not allowed to do consults on meds. read more

I just transferred my prescriptions here from another local pharmacy. I used the drive-through (love that!) to pick them up, and didn't realize until I got home that one of the prescriptions was for the wrong medication. I called, very upset, and expected to be blown off. Quite the opposite. Everyone I dealt with was very helpful and apologetic. The pharmacy manager met me when I returned, apologized again, double-checked to be sure everything was okay, refunded my co-pay, and gave me a gift card to use at the store. Sometimes it's the recovery from a mistake that seals the deal. These guys did good by me. I'll stay with them. read more

I don't blame the employees I blame the management I've been going there for over 5 years but clearly they have major problems going on in the last 6 months. I received a text message saying my prescriptions are ready and Multiple times after standing in line for over 20 minutes or sitting through the drive-thru for over 20 minutes I get to the front and there still a problem with the prescription. "Nancy" @ Walgreens pharmacy was rude, sassy, and only filled one of two prescriptions dropped off. This is after the same pharmacy "lost" 4 prescriptions phoned and faxed by my physician just a few days earlier. Her helpful comment was " we must have an IT issue or whatever ". Really?
