If I could give this place a negative star I would!! I came into the store to fill a prescription. As I was waiting in line I kindly asked an associate where their restrooms were. He responded by telling me that they don't have a public restroom that I could use. I told him that it was an emergency and that I was PREGNANT. His response was the exact same. I find this "policy" COMPLETELY unacceptable! THIS IS A PHARMACY! Literally, the next step to an urgent care facility and they don't let PAYING customers use their restrooms?!? I'm pretty sure this is illegal is some way. I would really hate to this this was an act of racism, but I'm completely flabbergasted that a company whose in the business of selling prescriptions and medications deny their customers access to their restrooms. After it was very clear that I was NOT able to use their restrooms. I decided to call corporate. I have NEVER called a companies corporate office to complain...EVER! But this was beyond unacceptable! The only thing I could think about was was all the pregnant women, elderly people and children being denied access to a SIMPLE restroom?!?!? I also decided to talk to the manager about this matter & he explained that due to people going into the restrooms and "making a mess" he has decided to "close off the restrooms". I explained to him why it was important to allow PAYING CUSTOMERS access to the restrooms regardless of the cleanliness. I also told him that I DID call corporate to file a complaint. After I told him I called corporate he instantly offered me access to the restrooms...funny how that happened. I will NEVER EVER be back!! I have utterly run out of patience with this place. I'll start by saying the pharmacy is very good and has been a big help to me since I left the hospital this summer. I needed assistance with using a specific medical item that neither the hospital or the physician specialist (or nurse) provided. The pharmacist here offered her aid and it was and is appreciated. If my only need of this location were the pharmacy, this would be a four-star review (maybe even five). Alas, that is not the case. Over the course of the past several weeks I have been in looking for an inexpensive product nonetheless essential to my health: alcohol prep pads. They have been out, and out and out and out. I went in just a bit ago and, sigh, still out. I found an employee to assist me and was told (as if it weren't obvious) that an empty shelf means the store is out of stock on the item. This I knew. I was also told a delivery truck would be coming tomorrow and maybe the product I need would be on it. I know the entire global supply chain is mess right now. But I have been looking for this product for weeks. I'll have to try other Walgreens and other pharmacies in general, but I am in the midst of some hectic times at work and continue also in a long recovery from illness; I'd rather not have to search high and low. Speaking of which, that is what you have to do here to find an employee. And when you do, your request for help is often greeted with a look that suggests you have interrupted that employee's rest or nap. Heaven forbid that anyone working here actually initiates assistance with something like, "Sir, is there anything we can help you with today?" Why is bricks-and-mortar retail so utterly disengaged with customers? Are we really such an inconvenience? Oh, they want to bug you day and night with e-mails and text messages about offers, deals and sales, but if you actually need a flesh-and-blood human to assist you, you have to kind of put hat in hand and hope your request will be greeted by a worker not showing the strains of extended torpor. At the register, it seems dragging items across the scanner is a major effort. I'm recovering from a serious illness and have more energy than employees barely out of their teens. I do, again, praise the pharmacy, for the most part. But the rest here is just bad. read more

I've been going to this Pharmacy for the last 5 years, since the Tampa/Victory location has been shut. the pharmacy service at this location is by far much worse than the other location. There are usually several people waiting in line, they're understaffed. On weekends, they take lunch breaks different from when is stated when you call the location. in regards to prescription fills, they tell me they don't always get the requests from their own website for refills; therefore, I have to call them monthly for at least 2 prescriptions, despite trying to work with a couple of the managers to have them "submit a ticket" with their internal IT service. read more

When is an appointment not an appointment? Apparently, when it is an appointment for a vaccine booster at Walgreens. My wife -- who is always punctual -- showed up in a timely fashion to get a COVID booster at the Tarzana Walgreens (Mecca and Ventura). The appointment was at 3:15, on a day when she had several appointments. She was told that there would be a 25 minute delay, meaning that her vaccine would be administered at 3:40. She inquired as to why there would be a delay, and they said because they had so many walk-ins. Perhaps somebody at Walgreens could explain why in their right mind would then make an appointment at Walgreens, when it seems to mean absolutely nothing? I'm now awaiting a call back from the store manager to provide some background on how this could happen, and I will report back if there is anything material to report. read more

I had to get my daughter's medicine today. I'm still shocked to see people out and about without facial covering. In addition, people being very nonchalant. A customer at Walgreens in Tarzana and I met in an aisle and he says to me, it's all going to be alright. I was in full Ppe w goggles, a mask and a scarf. He had nothing. In addition, I was there at 8a, waiting in the pharmacy line to open. At 830, I was told to come back in an hour and a half. I came back at 1030 and waited with one person in front of me. The Tech then called the man behind me to come forward, however, I was next in line and the tech said the pharmacist had to get the meds out of the safe. He said it would be another 15 min. I stepped aside. I watched and heard the pharmacist say my daughter's name for the RX and he put it in the alpha bin. He helped the next customer and I didn't want to make a scene since I appreciate their service. I went to the front to pay for my non essential items and came back to be called. I had to step in front of the next person in line to find out if my daughter's RX was ready and he said, oh, yes, yours is ready. I will never go back there for RX orders ever again read more

The pharmacist here (Tina To) is extremely unprofessional and rude and should be reported for malpractice. My brother just had a root canal and got a prescription for a pain reliever from his dentist which was out of stock at over a dozen different pharmacies that we had to individually drive to to check if they had any in stock (because they can't disclose that information over the phone). When we finally found the medication in stock at this location, the pharmacist said that they would not give my brother his prescription. He then had his dentist call them to verify the prescription and give them the "code" that they needed and even tell them about how he just had surgery but the pharmacist still refused and started making a scene about how she doesn't want to help us and had the manager come to kick us out. I dont understand why the pharmacist is clearly hoarding this medication and I wouldn't put it past them if they have some kind of scheme going on behind the scenes because they were just too adamant on not filling a perfectly legal prescription from a reputable doctor. His dentist had the conversation on a recorded line and will be reporting this pharmacy for negligence. Hope these criminals learn to do their job and help people instead of the total opposite. read more

I would give a 0 but my experience and cannot give as much information due to HIPPA but I went in to fill 2 prescriptions Friday 9/8/2023. The pharmacist must have just graduated school, claiming total nonsense, that both prescriptions I had that were written by 2 different doctors were BOTH no good. Wasting my time and took all the information said she could fill one but then claimed she couldn't for some bogus reason how it was written and the other she said it was written wrong. Never will come here again. I had gone there before and had no issues with same medication this was pure incompetence. There was another customer there she was harassing also on the prescription as if her doctor was also incorrect on prescription. This woman clearly has no experience and should not be in charge of filling prescriptions. Took the same prescriptions to rite aide no issues. Nothing questionable on incorrectly written by doctors. Last time I ever step foot in this store. This is my 3rd time visiting this particular location. The first two times the cashier lines were very long and I was unable to find anyone to help me locate an item. Annoying yes, but not the end of the world. However, tonight was the final straw as I left humiliated and angered. I was denied purchase of an OTC allergy medication because my Driver's License "didn't look like me". This is the same Driver's License that I present to the TSA when I travel around the country for work. The same license I have used countless times at other establishments. Never in my life have I been denied service due to not "looking like my license". For some reason, it was not good enough for the head pharmacist and store manager 'Rene' (sp?). They were unapologetic and rude even when I made my case. I would not rule out prejudice as a factor. I immediately left and bought the same meds at CVS down the street with the SAME driver's license. If Walgreens had scanned my license (as I suggested) they would have not seen any red flags. Good--the cashier volunteers coupons for what you are buying esp non-Rx stuff. My Rx for generic drops would have cost over $100. Ended up going to CVS where it cost around $55. Walgreens is more efficient/faster but I dropped my Rx off at CVS and came back later so worth saving $50+. read more

I got lucky yesterday. I got lucky in that I went to 2 different CVS locations and could not get Norco (vicodin) for my mom who is going through excruciating pain due to herniated disc sciatic nerve. If anyone knows -- this pain is like no other and it will have you screaming in the middle of the night scaring off the neighbors. When I got, two staff members really went out of their way to help me. Namely the sr. staff pharmacist, Ramin, and one of the associates/assistants Jeffrey. Ramin in particular made the process incredibly easy considering my mom was not registered with Walgreens/nor that pharmacy, and was patient while I gathered and gave him all the proper insurance information. Within minutes they made sure to update me on the approval process and within less than 15 minutes they filled the prescription. They answered all my questions, and were very friendly along the way. I cannot tell you what a contrasting experience it was from my experience at CVS and other pharmacies. I think it's possible that this one is not as busy as the bigger locations - and there's more room (time) to provide proper customer care, but I was impressed enough to take the time out of morning Saturday to write this review to make sure folks know to go to this pharmacy and to have Ramin be of your assistance. He was awesome - both quick, efficient, and supportive of making sure I could attend to my mom with the proper medication. Thank you so much! I just left The Walgreens in Tarzana, CA and had a very disturbing incident with the Manager and checker. I purchased 6 Think Bars which were on sale for 3 @$1.79. When I got to the checker, he charged me $21 for 6 bars. I went back to my car to get my receipt and asked for my refund for them overcharging me. The checker was new and didn't know how to deal with this. After 20 minutes of waiting and the checker then had to call the Manager to approve. Another 20 minutes waiting. I took the Manager to the location of the bars which clearly showed the sale price. Now I'm getting upset and had other places to be. I told her this was getting very frustrating and she told me to get out of the store with no refund. This Manager should be fired for her horrible behavior. I won't shop there ever again. read more

AVOID THE PHARMACY. Aside from two very nice young gentlemen, the employees are, well, pills. With the harried demeanor of DMV workers and hardened glazed of overworked and underpaid drones, they crack typical office jokes amongst one another while costumers loiter In (as in 7 or 8 people deep) lines. This is especially true of the female pharmacist and her cashier sidekick. I once arrived deliberately at 2pm, to catch the pharmacy after lunch. They'd had a "busy morning", and took off for a late late lunch together, alerting no no one. They returned at 3:15pm. The employees have no understanding oh ot capacity to process discount drug coupons. They ignore valid rates, and are generally surly, and unwilling to step beyond the least possible effort. read more

I just had a root canal done yesterday and got a couple prescriptions, one for an antibiotic and one for pain. My normal pharmacy filled the antibiotic prescription but did not have the pain killer in stock and told me to try a different pharmacy. After driving around for hours and going to 12 different pharmacies in the area, I finally found one with my medicine in stock and not on back order. The pharmacist, Tina To, told me it would take 2 hours to fill and I had to come back the next day. When I came to pick it up the next day, the pharmacist said they refused to fill my prescription. I simply asked them why and they refused to give me a reason. When I told them I drove around to the 11 other pharmacies in my area and they told me they don't have it in stock and it was on backorder for over a month. They told me the other pharmacies lied to me. Why would I lie about that and why would they lie to my face? I called my Dentist and they tried calling the Pharmacy to give them the code they apparently needed. The Pharmacy refused to speak with my dentist and had the store manager, Song, come and kick me out. When I asked the store manager why the pharmacist didn't fill my prescription, he said the pharmacist didn't have to give a reason and I had to get out. I asked him why not, are you guys racist against me, he just smiled and lied and said I called him a racial slur to try and turn the tables on me. This is unbelievable. I never would have thought a pharmacy would refuse to serve me because of my race, especially in 2021. I asked them multiple times why they wouldn't serve me and if it was anything I did or anything wrong with the prescription and they said no. These racists should not be operating. I am in pain and still looking for a pharmacy that has my prescription in stock. This pharmacist is causing me a lot of pain and and suffering for not reason. This is not ok. read more

I placed an order to get some photos printed because they had a 75% off deal for same day pick ups. I purchased 2 11x14 metal prints and was told the expected time for pick up would be 12:08p. Around 1:30 I received a call from the location that they weren't able to fill the order because their printer was down. SO disappointed by the rudeness of the pharmacist. It was their fault in their lack of communication that they changed generic manufacturers for a drug I am taking. (perhaps cheaper?) And the pharmacist refused to acknowledge that the substituted mfg has terrible reviews and side effects for this drug. What was Walgreen's decision at the distribution center became my problem to that pharmacist. The pharmacist in charge, Tina To, is rude and incompetent. You have lost me and my family as customers and patients. We have been loyal customers for years. My daughter's medication was on auto-refill. I have emails notifying me that the prescription was ready. When I went to pick it up, I was notified that the prescription was cancelled. When I explained that she had no medication left, the response was, "sorry", talk do your doctor. We had asked our daughter's physician to switch to mail order. Unknown to us, the physician cancelled the prescription at Walgreens. When I called the pharmacy again, and spoke with Tina To, the pharmacist in charge, she refused to provide an emergency supply while we could get it resolved over the weekend. When I asked if she could call the physician, she said "I can fax." She offered no solutions and showed total disregard in providing continuity of care. Pharmacists are supposed to be part of the health care team. She showed no compassion or understanding for my daughter's care and actually screamed at me over the phone. This is a messed up system when the pharmacist in charge can hide behind red tape instead of trying to do the right thing for her patient. I submitted a complaint to Walgreens corporate and will also file a complaint with the Board of Pharmacy. To add insult to injury, I received an email from Walgreens that the early refill was rejected by insurance. I DIDN'T ASK FOR AN EARLY REFILL. I asked for an emergency 3 day supply. AND SHE SUBMITTED THE WRONG MEDICATION. Incompetent. read more

They have the worst system ever for dropping off or picking up a prescription. One clerk. If there are more than 2 people of front of you, count on a 30 minute wait just to drop off a script. I've been to many drug stores. This is the worst system I have ever experienced. Also, they were out of one of my meds. No call to tell me not to come by to pick up. I was scheduled to receive my 2nd dose of Covid -19 vaccine @ 2:30pm upon check in Jeffery the pharmacy tech was extremely professional and helpful in guiding me through the process. Unfortunately this one star rating is for the Pharmacist ( TINA ) who happens to be the pharmacy manager as well and administered my shot. During my check in process she was standing next to Jeffery and through out my check in was indulged in GOSSIPING about the firing of other employees and also gossiping about behind the scenes chaos in the pharmacy operations at this location ( funny as she is the manager ). It's a shame that ( TIna To ) being the pharmacy manager is leading her team with such unprofessional low standards. At one point I apologized to Jeffery as I couldn't hear him clearly and was a little slow in following his instructions of filling the vaccine consent form. Jeffery was professional enough to acknowledge that due to face coverings ( masks ) sometimes it's hard to hear and to that in Tina's presence someone from the back mouthed off that the mask covers the face and not the ears ( FYI the mask covering the face muffles the voice projection of the speaker hence can change the projection of the pitch with which the person hears it and that can bring some difficulty ). Tina just blatantly chuckled at this insult thrown at me from her staff members that she is supposed to be leading and managing. During the administration of the vaccine I asked Tina ( pharmacist ) if she was aware of what symptoms should I be expecting and she was uninformative almost dismissive to the point that totally disregarded my apprehension relating to getting the vaccine. I asked her if she had received Pfizer or Moderna and had any feedback to that she just totally became rude and aloof and claimed that we cannot administer a different brand to you ( which was totally not my question ). After this dismissive, insulting treatment and having my vaccine administered I left the store hoping to bring this to the managements attention for improvement and coaching for this pharmacy manager. I'm hoping that she did administer the right 2nd dose for me as now I have lost complete trust in this institution where managers are gossiping in front of customers in line and cultivating a culture of distrust and disrespect. Hope the general manager will coach the pharmacy manager to conduct the pharmacy business with COMPASSION and professionalism. read more

I love this place. It's within walking distance of my house, so I go here frequently. Early morning, late night, no matter what I need, they usually have it.
