I was a bit cautious because as always there are a few bad google reviews - but as with anything that has reviews sometimes people just come out unhappy. I was in a time bind and Carney's was able to squeeze in my inspection within a 24 hour notice, the fastest of any mechanic in the area for my particular situation. I was quoted $49.95 and the mechanics were helpful and provided professional service. Most of all - after a one hour thorough inspection by Mike (head mechanic I assumed) the charge was still the same price they told me on the phone yesterday; a very honest mechanic. Mike recommended I get a basic vehicle check and the workers were all very friendly and performed excellent work. For that reason I'm giving this shop 5 stars. I'm not from the area, but if I'm ever in Pickney again and need service - I'll come back to Carney's. They assessed my vehicle thoroughly and I will most likely return to get the few tweaks in my vehicle looked at before the next season. Their quotes were very reasonable considering parts and labor and that certified mechanics perform the work. If you get a chance and you're in the area, drop on by!

After having numerous mechanics work on my car and still not fix the problems correctly, I was beginning to lose hope. Then I took my car to Convenience Auto Repair and spoke with Matt and Pat. They listened to my concerns, found the issues, took pictures of the issues and sent them to me before the work was done and they fixed my car properly. I've dealt with Bruce and his team of mechanics at My Car Guy Auto Repair several times, and to say that they are best would be an understatement. They give honest, upfront estimates of what needs to be repaired before they do any work your vehicle, which is at a far better price than most dealerships or other auto repair businesses offer. Bruce, and his team have extensive experience with all makes of Honda and Toyota vehicles. As an ASE Master Certified Technician specializing in Honda products, he strongly recommends using authentic auto parts from these two trusted brands, and not generic, third-party manufacturers. Likewise, I've had my Civic tuned up and it runs like a champ, at less than half the price quoted by three other auto shops in the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area. They tend to charge on the rather high side of things and refuse to work with longtime customers on pricing or give a slight discount when multiple things are being done. Lastly, their work doesn't seem to last as long as it does when getting fixes done at a dealership, so your brakes will go quicker.. oil will NEED to be changed around 1.5k miles etc. They guarantee their work, kind of, but not for long and they're vague about specifics. I'd like to get more work done here, but it will be cheaper and last longer if customers went elsewhere.. So.. typical independent auto shop?
