What a secret gem of a place! Just tucked in from a bustling Denny street! We started out with some cappuccino and iced latte, and they were lovely. They served the coffees with a little shortbread cookie, and these little details really elevated the whole experience. Also, the cappuccino was so foamy, and it hit the spot immediately. The breakfast menu was also fantastic. The TPC Breakfast plate included sausage, potatoes, bacon, bread, and some scrambled eggs. There also was an option to add Beecher's cheese on the eggs, and I'd say it was totally worth it. Most importantly, the Dutch baby was as good as they'd advertised. It comes out on a piping hot skillet which kept the dessert warm till the end of the meal. The service was very quick even though they were entirely booked out for the time we were there for. I appreciated the patience from the servers and their helpful directions in picking the menu items. I will warn you that we had to reserve our spot months in advance. This is probably because the restaurant is great but pretty limited in seating space. However, it was definitely worth the wait, so don't be discouraged. I wanted to love it... but the service was so so bad. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, then we were abruptly asked to leave the table because we were "taking too long." One of the best brunches in Seattle! The restaurant feels like a mix of a diner and a family restaurant. It's small and intimate and everyone is super friendly. Reservations are required for brunch and you'll have to make it 1-2 months in advance, but it's definitely worth it! Their menu changes often but they always have a savory and sweet Dutch baby which you have to get. If you've never had a Dutch baby, it's like a cross between a Yorkshire pudding and a pancake. We had a great brunch at Tilikum! In a place that has no shortage of good food to choose from, Tilikum sticks out for its dutch babies and kind service. We had a 20 min wait so we walked down to the Space Needle and then came back to enjoy brunch at the bar top (best seat in the house). We got to watch the kitchen magic and chat with the staff. Tilikum Place has been an interesting place that I have heard is a must try in the Seattle area, and I'm glad to have pay this restaurant a visit! We went on a Saturday around 2PM and we had a reservation so no wait was needed. Due to the location of the restaurant, I consider parking to be moderate to very difficult to find depending on the time of the day. Majority if not all of the options are street side with a 2 hour limit (typical Seattle downtown parking vibe) on all days except for Sunday I think. The ambiance of the restaurant is slow casual, as most of the diners are dine in. Service is warm, attentive, and relatively fast as we were able to get most of our food in the time frame that was mentioned. I had a couple of items, which I'll review down below: French Onion Soup ($10): I got the small portion, which is about a larger coffee cup size serving. There is a thick layer of Gruyere cheese garnished on top with pieces of bread sticking out as you can see in the photo. The stock is has a hearty deep beefy flavor with a sweet slightly acidity after taste. It does taste very comfortable and would hit the soul nicely on a cold day. Dutch Babies ($17 - $18): We got the Sweet Dutch baby ($17) and Savory Dutch baby ($18) since we wanted to try the different flavors and textures between the two. I would describe the texture is a lighter fluffier crepe in terms of texture and flavor. I think I liked the savory one more as it had heartier texture and maintained the crepe crispiness on the outside and fluffiness on the inside. The sweet one became a bit more soggy as time went on, but that's just down to personal preference. Do note that they take 30 minutes to make. Personally, I didn't get very full off of one of them, you may need to order more in addition if you are very hungry. In the end, I think that Dutch Babies are novel breakfast experience and that Tilikum Place is a good place for a light brunch that you can chat with your friends over. I am not the biggest bruncher, so I probably wouldn't revisit, but I would recommend checking out Tilikum Place if you are a big bruncher. read more

I can't believe it's taken me so long to get to Tilikum Place Cafe. I had such a great brunch there and I can't wait to come back and try more items. My friend and I were lucky enough to get seats from a walk-in, but you should probably make a reservation for any more than two people. It's always busy! So busy that the service does take a while. The food is great. We got Baked Eggs and a Dutch Baby, both dishes were hearty and filling. You must get the Baked Eggs with bread and butter; mostly because it's too salty on its own. It's so great with the bread, the herby taste and the creaminess are wonderful. The Dutch Baby was pretty great too! I would compare it to a personal pie with fabulous crust. Probably one of my favorite brunch places with really delicious food and not just your generic brunch items. Definitely make a reservation! I genuinely wish I could've ordered everything on the menu. This is a small, beautiful and homey space that served one of the best meals I've ever had in Seattle. - Eggs Benedict - the Irish colcannon cake (purple potatoes, cabbage, kale, onion) wowed me. It tasted like excellent beef brisket. This is now my favorite breakfast place in the entire Seattle area, including the Eastside. The sign at the desk said they were booked up, but the man who greeted us found a table for us anyway. The servers were not only prompt and efficient, but playful and endearing. Then my family and I had our best brunch experience since COVID. To be honest, I don't do fish (traumatic childhood eating experience), but the soup smelled so good that I was asking, "What is that?" before it even reached the table. However, the star of the show was their signature Dutch baby pancake. This is a cross between a Yorkshire pudding and a pancake. I was in town to see a friend who was visiting Seattle for a couple days. I live up in Bellingham and rarely make it down here--I'm usually more of a Vancouver person--but we met up at KEXP and wandered around the neighborhood. I'll admit, I sometimes find Seattle oddly underwhelming food-wise compared to other cities of a similar size, so I'm always pleasantly surprised when I discover a real gem. This place definitely qualifies. I ordered the chicken salad, which was more of a deconstructed mix of chicken salad served over greens, and it was seriously delicious. One thing I occasionally wonder about restaurants in this region is whether they know what salt (or spices) are--but that was absolutely not the case here. The dish had perfectly balanced salty bites alongside fresh greens and potatoes. I think the olives might have been part of what made it pop, but whatever the combination was, it worked beautifully. After attempting to get a reservation here time and time again (seems like every time I check it's booked up) we finally decided to go and arrive about 15 minutes before open in order to get a walk in table. It worked! But there was a line, both of reservations and walk ins. The place was full within 10 minutes and walk ins were repeatedly told it was booked the rest of the day. Make a reservation or show up early. The place was clean and had great character. We sat in a window bar seat facing the street, it was secluded and fun to watch outside while eating. My friend had to pull off some serious reservation magic to secure a spot, and when we arrived, I watched a steady stream of walk-ins get turned away. They also keep things running on a tight schedule, so don't plan on lingering too long about 1.5 hours in, we got the polite nudge that our table was needed for the next wave of diners. The reviews here are correct, the Dutch baby and eggs Benedict and absolutely worth it. The eggs Benny came on this rectangular croissant-like waffle with bacon tucked into the squares. The Dutch baby was perfection light, custardy, drizzled with maple syrup, and served with a whole lemon to sprinkle on top. They are like large inside out flat custard Malasadas from Leonard's with powdered sugar not granulated sugar for those that have been to Hawaii to have that island fav. Service was also top-notch. My friend has a few dietary restrictions, and the staff was incredibly understanding, accommodating and thoughtful. Add in the warm, rustic European vibes, and the whole experience felt like a cozy little escape in a rainy day. One heads-up, parking is practically non existent here, so unless you have the patience of a saint to circle the one way streets a lot, I'd recommend walking or taking an Uber.
