Swoooooooooon. Love staying at Ojai Rancho Inn and this little bar is a big reason why. I mean "little" quite literally--it's tiny in . Never fear though, as you are welcome to hang in their cool back area with a pool, fire pit, hammocks, basically all the vacation-y things. The bartenders are really laid back and friendly--props to the bartender who even went out of his way to make sure the campfire didn't go out as we were hanging out with our drinks. Chief's Peak has a fun list of beer, wine, and soju + shrub cocktails. Really enjoyed one of their funky rosés and a soju cocktail on my last visit. They don't really have food--I think some fancy chocolate bars and potato chips--but we brought some snacks from our room to eat by the fire and they didn't mind a bit. This place is open to for hotel guests as well as the public--we learned the ceramic cups on the wall belong to Ojai locals, which is rad! Aside from wine bars it seems like Ojai gets pretty sleepy at night, so definitely put this on your list for a night cap next time you're in town. read more

Hipster vibes all around. It's to be expected and what made me enjoy Chief's Peak even more. From the minimalist aesthetic on the bartenders to the random dog wandering around the bar, this was my favorite part about my Ojai day trip. Most of the drinks are Soju based and wasn't really wowed by any of the ones I tried. Still good nonetheless. Make sure you stop by if you're around the Ojai area and remember that they open at 4pm! read more

This little spot is so cute! It's the bar at a little boutique hotel and the vibe is casual and unique. Their outdoor area is lovely and has lots of shade and a fire pit around the pool. A lot of their drinks are made with sake or soju and have unique pairings of flavors. Definitely worth checking out if you are cruising around Ojai. read more

One of our favorites! Every time we come to Ojai, my friend and I stop into this little hotel bar. There are only a few seats in the bar next the cozy fireplace as well as seating outside overlooking the pool. The decor is hipster with crystals and the all seeing eye (even the window is shaped like "all seeing eye!"). We love the clientele who frequent here, many of them locals. They have a huge wall of mugs for the locals! Everyone we have met here, even the out of towners have fun stories to share. As for the drinks, they have several local beers on tap, a shelf with plenty of wine and beer options (alcoholic kombucha as well), and a list of hippie cocktails with mushrooms! Despite it being strange to the normal person, the drinks are fantastic. I love that nothing they make is too sweet. read more

I am obsessed with this bar..obsessed. I only regret not coming sooner so we could enjoy it during the day. Pool, cocktails for $10-$12, and oh yeah, a pool. I Although I keep mentioning the pool, I wanna emphasize it's NOT a douchey, pretentious pool bar---it's a laidback, hip, friendly bar, WITH A pool. I know, non-pretentious and pool bar aren't usually in the same sentence--but this is why I'd go here everyday the next time we're in Ojai. read more

This was on my wish list to visit during a girl's weekend to Ojai. It's right off the trolley stop and a tiny bar in a motor hotel type setting. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The bartender was full of personality and very genuine. We enjoyed a glass of wine and company with the bartenders and other guests at the bar. Music is all from a record player and they have a great, eclectic selection that was hand-picked for the space from Warbler Records in Santa Barbara. Really friendly staff and a great, laid back atmosphere. It is in the Ojai Rancho Inn, so not totally visible from the street. Came here both nights we were in Ojai because it was one of our favorite spots. read more

They spin vinyl, chat you up and look beautiful while relaxingly pouring you your second or third (sigh) glass of wine. In the cooler months there is a wood burning fireplace going. Sweet, sweet sweet place! Tiny, but powerful. A rip-roaring fire. Cool as hell barstools and lighting. A wonderful gracious kind bartender. Killer wines. Even my boyfriend, a non-drinker, loved his Asian-import iced tea. We stayed at the Rancho this weekend and were so excited to be close to our favorite be in the west! Chiefs Peak is perfection! Run by two extremely gracious and fun ladies, always there with a smile and welcoming attitudes. Their selection of beers wines sakes ciders are excellent. They have these really delicious bottles of Nostrum which are uniquely flavored hand crafted tincture concentrates you can mix in things to make creative cocktails. Their vinyl collection is always on point, love the decor and how they light it with candles each night. Definitely stop in to the bar! read more

We were here last Saturday to celebrate our son's birthday. We used their grills on the lawn area next to the pool, spread out our potluck BBQ dinner, and definitely enjoyed their great beer & wine selections! I have never stayed at the hotel, but I have had a number of glasses of wine at the bar. Great vibe, cool mix of locals and visitors. Good selection of wine and beer, follow them on social media to see when food trucks and special events are going on. Always good fun. Once a year they throw a holiday makers event called Deck the Halls, once a month their is Folk Steady with acoustic music and during the summer they have food truck a couple times a month, Jolly Oyster and some others.
