Wellenberg Park (WP), is a hidden gem for tennis players, not so much for kids. WP is located on a busy street and next to a highschool. Four lighted tennis courts. There's four more courts behind this one, but those belong to the school. WP has no parking lot or street parking. You must park in the nearby neighborhood. WP is great if you live walking distant. The toddler play structure is a joke. Uncreative, tiny, and boring. No playsand or water feature. I think they ran out of money, spent it all on the tennis courts. Isn't parks design for kids? A good sign of a great park is when you see a bunch of kids running around, no sign of kids here. Park does have a large grass area, with plenty of picnic tables and bbq pit. WP has a restroom with the famous stainless steel urinal with no partition. Are partition that expensive to install? I hate the fact knowing someone is staring at me. WP is great if your a tennis player. The court is rarely used. Without a parking lot or street parking makes this park really unattractive.

We have had plenty of celebrations at this park. The park has a parking lot located on Cottle, near the junior high school. The picnic areas are all first come first serve so be careful when planning your events here. The restrooms are very decent and usually stocked. Tons of grass area but the playground is on the smaller side and more for younger kids.

I started going here to play tennis with my brother and my friend Arnel after discovering how quiet and underused these courts are...

What kind of park has a zipline?!? THIS ONE. Two seating options, one with a harness for toddlers,…read morethe other for older kids (I even saw adults using this). The park also offers a fun and inclusive space for children, with climbing structures, sturdy cement slides, swings for both toddlers and older youth, a see-saw, merry-go-round, trampoline, and spongy material making up the ground's surface. The occasional squirrel, lizard, and butterfly too. As an adult simply looking for a place to relax while waiting for my car at an auto shop nearby, I was pleasantly surprised to find this park accommodating. Dirt and concrete trails weaving through the garden, lovely vegetation in spring, and a good amount of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Also, a shady area with fake grass and seats made out of smoothed-out logs and tree trunks, as well as adirondack chairs where I was able to hang out and nap while I was there. It wasn't too crowded or crazy on a Friday morning, though it got busier as it neared noon time. In addition, the place offers a parking lot and clean restrooms for convenience.

The play garden has everything kiddos love -- slides, one seesaw, one round spinner, one rope climbing thing (that can also spin), swings (bucket and standard), small water play area, and a Zipline (one for little kids 3+ and one for older kids). They also have an area with tables, where someone was having a party (no idea if reservations are needed though). Expect to wait in line for a turn of the park is crowded. The play garden is fenced off from the rest of the park. They have a restroom on site. They have a small parking lot that is nearby the entrance of the play garden. I noticed some people parked on a smaller side street and walked over. I'm not sure what other parking options there are otherwise. We would return if we're in the area again and if it's less busy. It's a solid park and play area for those who live nearby.

Such a fun, spacious, and beautiful park!…read more I stumbled across this gem due to being in the nearby area. It just so happened to be right after Easter weekend and the plentiful garbage bins were 100% overflowing. With that said, the parks still came off quite tidy. Park visitors clearly made the effort to throw things away in appropriate areas and overflowed garbage bags were placed right along the bathroom building. City workers stopped by shortly after and BAM!! Everything was cleared and cleaned. Doerr Park comes recommended for children of all ages. There is a kiddy area and a more advanced play structure for the older kids in your life. The structure provides a lot of American Ninja Warrior vibes as opposed to your basic swing set and slide. 5/5 stars. This park is so bomb!!!

The playground is divided by a smaller playground for the little kids and a larger playground for the bigger kids. The kids I take care of love to come here and climb and go down the slides. They prefer this park over the one by their house in Willow Glen. The restrooms are decent. There's always toilet paper, soap and paper towels. There's lots of picnic tables--some covered, some not. There's lots of nice walking/biking paths around the park. There are also tennis courts which people are always using for pickleball. Also basketball courts. Tons of grassy fields to run around. There isn't a parking lot for this park but plenty of street parking.
