I have been coming to see Dr Wally for almost 10 years now. Does that tell you anything right there?? I love this man as my dentist and will not anyone else near my teeth! And all of his dental hygienists are awesome! I just had to go in and have a cavity filled. I would always dread this when I was seeing other dentists. But not with Dr Wally. Today I went in for the first part of my dental implant. The entire office staff are all very personable , quick to answer questions , very helpful and nice. The billing is straight forward which I appreciate. Truly a very professional and fantastic team. The dental hygienist was great. Dr Ravon did the tooth extraction and dental implant. He was fabulous and made me feel comfortable with the procedure. Everything went smoothly. His assistant Kimberly is adorable and very sweet. Dr Bashawaty is passionate about doing the best for his patients and he will be doing the crown part for my implant in 8 weeks. I really like that I can go to one office for all aspects of this procedure (from extraction to implant to crown). Plus get my yearly check up and dental cleaning, all in one office! read more

I have been to plenty of dentists in my life so I have a fair amount of experience to know what to look for. When you first walk in you are treated with a nice smile and a friendly greeting, nice furniture in the waiting area with an open feel to it. Than you are seated and here comes Mr. dentist Dr. Wally whom is always smiling and greeting everyone along his way to me. he does what he does and I do what I do sit there and listen to the loud music in headset since the sound of drill and I are not on good terms. Yet what impressed me the most is none of the above but how much time the Dr. Wally spend time listening to you and how he takes the time to explain everything in great details. Dr Wally has MAGICAL hands I never felt nervous when I go there he has a way of calming you down, the only dentist that I feel comfortable going to, he educated me about everything he did on me, I was always confident that I'm receiving the best treatment available. I wish I can post before and after pictures, I had silver fillings in 9 of my teeth which didn't look that great and now people tell me that I have beautiful teeth I was always shocked with the results and the new techniques and methods that I didn't even know is available. I came in here for a cleaning and I was not impressed. The hygienist was rough after I informed her I had a sensitive tooth that needed some TLC. I've had problems with this tooth for the past 16 years and most cleanings have been OK. Then, she kept poking at my lip and finally asked how long that [lump] had been there. I said "do you mean my lip piercing which I just took out this morning?" Scar tissue... Normal for piercings. She said no, this looks like some sort of cyst. Nope. Just a hole in my lip where a piercer stuck a needle in 6 years ago. Don't judge. Then, they told me I had two cavities. I'd never had a cavity before. Great. My perfect teeth are not perfect anymore. Just wait. This is gonna get good. That sensitive tooth? It's chipped. Has been for years. The bonding fell off and I asked them to rebond it. They insisted it couldn't be done until I whitened my teeth for a couple hundred dollars. Do you know how painful that is? A crest whitestrip hurts. Bond it first 2 shades lighter then whiten. It's on the back of my tooth where no one will see it. But no, they can't do that! It has to be white. Beauty first. Now I understand why all the staff members look like models and the "art" is pictures of the staff. And then, when I'd given up, a year later I get emails from them, in which the receptionist did not use BCC. Other avoidant /disgruntled patients, I have your email addresses. Anyone want some spam email? I can sign you up for Justin Bieber Zone newsletters. Oh, and I went to another dentist today to finally get those cavities fixed. He says I don't have any cavities. It's true I do have a small stain and it could become a spot of decay, but it wasn't soft when he pressed on it and he sees no reason to go drilling into a healthy tooth. Plan of action:keep it clean, and keep an eye on it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And don't charge me for it. And don't insist I need painful whitening before repair of a painful chip. read more

Dr. Wally, yes that is his first name, has been providing me excellent dental care for the last 5 months. My experience has been fantastic and I am happy to have found a great dentist. The visit is always smooth, dental staff is knowledgeable, friendly and professional from start to finish, they take time to explain what they are doing and answer all questions you have, it doesn't hurt they're all attractive, Dr. Wally and his ladies... Dr. Wally's work is akin to a craftsman, I have had a cap and a few fillings, and the finished product has exceeded expectations every time. The customer service is top notch. Phone calls are promptly returned, the attitude and demeanor over the phone is polite, courteous and efficient. I received a thank you card following my first appointment, they even have their branded water labels! Negs - Long wait time for appt, but you can ask to be placed on cancellation list for quicker appt. The cancellation policy is strict, you are contacted the day before the appt by phone/email and if you do not respond by the afternoon, your appt is cancelled. Neither affected my rating here 5 stars, best Dentist I have ever had. read more

Having anything to do with the word "dentist" has always been a nightmare for me!! Growing up in NYC, I've always had bad luck with dentists especially the last dentist I had. They truly screwed me over and I ended up with route canals and fillings that weren't done properly leading to a horrible extraction where I had to go under because of the severe pain and infection it caused. After relocating to the OC, I had to find a dentist who can take over this horrible work and "fix" it. Dr. Wally was recommended to me. I was terrified going in there at first but he was so kind and patient to me making me feel very comfortable. He looked at my x-rays and laid it all out to me with all honesty. He told me exactly what needed to be done and walked me through the steps. I had to get implants but I felt no pain and everything went well!! His work is excellent and he knows exactly what he's doing!!!! He follows up with his patients and truly cares about their well-being. I'm truly lucky to have found this doctor or else I would have had my teeth fall out at such a young age! The staff at the office are extremely friendly and always smiling. They make you feel welcomed at all times even when they are extremely busy! The front desk girls are awesome and the assistants are so caring!! Although I'm done with my heavy duty dental work, I still go for cleanings and they are the best cleanings ever because they are very thorough but painless. Last but not least, they are extremely great with timing, I never had to wait more than 5 mins and no I'm not exaggerating!! You sense this right when you walk through the door. The service is very personal, the staff knows you by name. Dr. Bashawaty is genuine, he is all about attention to detail. The care he gives is a reflection of himself. He keeps up to date with the latest dental information. I went to Dr, Bashawaty initially for Invisalign treatment, and now he is my primary dentist. Disclaimer: I hate dentists. Correction: I hated dentists. Last year I went to a dentist for the first time in my 30+ years of walking this planet. And I am glad it was Dr. Wally. He was very highly recommended to me by too many of my colleagues and friends to ignore. His office staff is very professional and very supportive of both the paients and Dr. Wally. The dental assistants are very methodical and yet patient and gentle. They made me feel comfortable every time. Dr. Wally himself, is just an A+ dentist. While I haven't ever been to any other dentist, I know a passionate professional when I see one. He is very jovial and friendly and listens to me about my feedback through out any procedure. Well... as much as I can speak with all those instruments in my mouth. He already knows very well what he is doing but he wants to make sure the experience is not unpleasant for you. First of all, I would like to say that I have never met a dentist with so much professionalism, respect and care for his patients. It's been a year since I've had my procedure of getting all my teeth fixed and capped with porcelain veneers throughout my whole mouth. As you can imagine, it was an extensive procedure. I had insurance and I was pregnant at the time my tooth ached. In my country, I visited the most expensive clinics, because as a child I had a bad experience with dental treatment. When she could afford, she did not doubt the choice of expensive specialists. Since I visited several clinics with Russian-speaking staff in Los Angeles, I was shocked, I thought that in America, top-level dentistry, but not in clinics with a domestic manufacturer;)) it was a horror since the chair, the treatment machine teeth, and as a result of the doctor's response, that he does not guarantee that he will cure my tooth, because of difficult channels. All in tears and with pain for the third day and the pain of teeth is one of the most severe, I did not know what to do, but I did not dare to take risks with our specialists. A friend gave the number of Dr. Wally, he does not work with insurance, but I was not interested enough when it hurts my teeth to act. What was my surprise, I was received the next day with a full load of the doctor, he found time because he went to meet me because of my position. For the first time in my life, I did not feel a shot or pain, I just enjoyed the massage chair and enjoyed it. God is a witness !!!! This doctor, his golden hands, do not regret how much he came to him. for such work it is really not a pity to pay. I wish you prosperity, good patients and patience. Now only to you! I never post reviews for anything, but I couldn't not post one for this. Dr Wally and his entire staff are the reason that I fly out to Cali from Alaska to have my dental treatment done! When I arrived for my first visit I was beyond scared, and anxious. I knew that after years and years of neglecting my teeth that I would be in for some real pain. I was pretty wrong about that. Not only Dr Wally, but the rest of his staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable throughout each and every one of my visits! I never felt pressured, and they made sure that if I even started to feel uncomfortable during any one of my procedures that all I would have to do was signal and they would give me a break if I needed one. I used to be scared of going to dentists offices, which is why I put it off for so long, and now I find myself walking in with ease, and enjoying my time with him and his staff. The environment is welcoming and, comfortable while still maintaining the utmost professionalism. Where do I start ? I used to be TERRIFIED of the dentist. With that being said, I didn't go for several years..... I don't really want to disclose how many. Let's just say it was a long time. Needless to say I had quite a bit of dental work to get done. What brought me to choose Dr Bashawathy was reviews on yelp and the fact that his office is conveniently located between home and my work. The first visit was definitely scary and I had a hard time relaxing. Dr Bashawathy was very patient with me and let me know he would never hurt me. ( I had a traumatic experience in the past ) Like I said there was a lot of work to be done, deep cleaning, extraction of wisdom teeth, a crown , some cavities. So there were several visits to the dentist for me. Over time I've gotten comfortable going. I wouldn't say I love it, but I don't mind going either. That to me, is huge progress. The fact that I now pre book my visits is a miracle. I can't say enough about Dr Bashawathy, he's got passion for his craft, always in a good mood, he taught me to have trust & relax while in the chair. His work is meticulous and absolutely pain free. I'd also like to give praise to the dental hygienists and assistants. Everybody are friendly, caring and personable, and make you feel welcome. Also worth mentioning, I don't have dental insurance, but they set up a treatment/ payment plan that worked out for both of us. I highly recommend this Dental team to anyone. read more

I have von willebrand's disorder which makes dentistry a little more tricky. When I met Dr. Bashawaty, I asked him what precautions he would take to control bleeding. His immediate and detailed responses blew me away - no other dentist I had seen, had been so thorough and prepared. Having had nearly no dental care as a child - I had many fillings and they were ugly amalgams. My teeth were crooked, not severely, but they bothered me. Dr. Bashawaty created a plan to change all my amalgams for inlays and fix a bad cap...and then we ventured into invisalign. Now years later, everyone still comments on my smile and how great my teeth are! Dr. Bashawaty recommended I use a Sonicare brush....and now years later and living in Europe, every time I go to the dentist the hygenist is amazed at how clean my teeth are. But even so, whenever I'm back in the Los Angeles area I make an appointment and have my teeth cleaned by one of Dr. Bashawaty's hygienists because they're always the best! As friendly and kind as he is, he accepts nothing but the best. And back to the von willebrands - one time while inserting an inlay I started bleeding and Dr. Bashawaty wasn't bothered at all. He didn't have the fear you see in other dentists. Why? Because he's a genius dentist that knows what he's doing. In the moment, he carried on, took measures to help me stop bleeding and just smiled and assured me it was no big deal. And it wasn't a big deal at all simply because I was in his good hands. BAD DENTIST!!! My husband has a genetic disease in which he had to stop taking his meds for an oral surgery which Dr. Bashawaty claimed would be covered by our insurance. We were reassured on several occasions that our insurance covered this needed surgery, my husband stop taking his meds (which made him very ill) and had the surgery. Then the office "magically" claimed the surgery was now not covered and we were responsible for the bill. If we knew they had a clerical error and did not in fact check with our insurance, we would have NEVER proceeded with the surgery and found another dentist. You can read the other reviews on YELP of people that have given him "Five Stars", they have be tricked by a Newport Beach dentist who has an very sneaky office staff that either simply does not do their job or knowingly tricks their clients into surgeries that they'll get stuck in the end with the bill. I have filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau, so know this is a valid complain against his office and the poor "professionals" working there. We even offered to do a payment plan, since they threaten us by attacking our perfect credit, knowing we were going after a new home. We have perfect credit as this was a low blow from Dr. Bashawaty's office to hurt our "future" for a couple hundred bucks. DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE, it's not about customer service, it's about money which is so sad in this economy. We've told our family, friends, and community about his bad business and hope that you will not support a greedy Newport Beach dentist, where there are so many wonderful other dentist that need clients in this economy.
