Came on a Sunday around 6PM, no wait and plenty of indoor seating available. Truffle Fries (5/5): they actually put shaved truffle on top of the fries, really good. White Truffle Pizza (5/5): easily one of the top 5 pizzas I've ever had, highly recommend. Burger (2/5): no substitutions on ingredients allowed and the patty was overdone. Porterhouse (4/5): for $120 it was pricey, but pretty good. Uni Pasta (2/5): very American style uni pasta, not much flavor, just looks pretty. Two female friends of mine love this place. In fact one of them brought me here with a few friends from out of town. We walked over here from the Montage. Really amazing venue. The bar area is amazing. Wine bottles everywhere, with a full and extensive menu. Lots of expensive people crowding this whole place up, making it quite the scene. While this place is one of THE places to find wine, I hated it. The staff is absolutely terrible. Their attitudes are so bad and arrogant. They need to remember they're there to serve people. Especially at the prices charged, and the tips to go along with it, the staff needs to stay humble and serve people with less attitude and be more helpful. The main hostess is especially rude, walking around the place like a wannabe runway whatever, with a tight dress that's way open around the tatas. What a horror. Worst service I've ever experienced. A group of us came here for my best friend's birthday. Initially we went to a table in the back and ordered drinks. After we finished the first round of drinks, some of the people in our group wanted to check out the scene at the bar that's up at the front. Not thinking anything of it, several of us went over to the bar- for a brief moment (while two of the people in our group stayed at the table). We were planning on coming right back to our table. We had only been over at the bar for 5 minutes before our waiter came up to us saying "no one is sitting at your table anymore, and I would really like to make some money tonight" with this statement there was also a subtle, but clear, insinuation that he thought we were going to dine and dash. Even though when I walked back over to our table one of our friends was still sitting at our table. I guess they had gone to the bathroom while we were up? Well maybe if the waiter had been paying any attention to our table he would have noticed that being the case. Instead he chose to create a dramatic, unnecessary situation. If he had just played it cool and not immediately freaked out everything would have been fine and he would have made his money, but by being presumptuous and rude he didn't make any tips. Self fulfilling prophecy. I don't pay for attitude boo. When we, in a calm and respectful manner, called him out for his behavior HE, instead of having an adult conversation with us, immediately pulled a Karen said he would send the manager over and abruptly turned and left the table. No one in the group wanted it to go there, but there we were... 20 minutes passed and the manager finally appeared at our table. We explained the situation and he apologized and said he would send a complementary birthday dessert for my friend to make up for the trouble. Get this. When this "special" dessert arrived it's just three pitiful scoops of plain vanilla ice cream. The saddest apology dessert I've ever seen. It seriously felt like a joke he was pulling on us! Well! We look over to where the manager and the rude, instigating waiter were standing (huddled in the corner) and talking. We saw them glance several times at us and they were clearly snickering at my friends and I. It made a bad situation worse. For the rest of the night ALL the servers ignored us and didn't bother to get drinks for us that we wanted to order. My friend's boyfriend finally had to get up and get a server to give us our bill. We still would have been sitting there if he didn't- I'm sure. This is supposed to be a classy spot, but instead of professionalism we were forced to interact with a manager and a waiter who were the embodiments of vindictive, petty children. As with everyone else who has ordered anything online from this place, my experience was abysmal. I placed an order for a birthday gift for my father and paid for overnight shipping, which was about an extra $35. A few days later, my father still hasn't received his gift order. So I email the place, and they then tell me they didn't have one of the items - which showed up as available on their website - and that they are going to cancel my order. That was over two weeks ago now. I've sent them about 8 or 9 emails since then. No response. I told them to cancel the order. Still no response. The scenery is nice, however if you're meeting friends to converse with its loud & hard to hear each other. Our service was poor because our waiter was leaving and we had to request a few times to be introduced to another waiter. There are limited meat options and it's very pricey. Service is great ... once you get past the hostess. Nice enough but that's about it. No reservations per se, but if you "know someone" or "are someone", velvet ropes part and you've got a non-communal table. We were told upon arrival that there were only "middle seats" available at the communal tables and were told the empty tables toward the back near the cheese display were "closed". When we informed the hostess that we'd pass and go next door instead, the tables miraculously opened.... The actual wait staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. As I was walking in she yelled at me stop to ask where I was going and stared at me like I was crazy for trying to walk in. Can't believe it's my first time here! Walked to Wally's after lunch at Cafe Gratitude to celebrate a friend's birthday with some wine. We were a party of 6 and got quickly seated without a reservation during the day, amongst racks and racks of gorgeous bottles. Heaven! The place filled up quite quickly after we were settled in though. We were presented with an encyclopedia long list of wines. Just a couple pages by the glass, the rest were bottles. The glasses were on the pricey side given location and scene but a few reasonable and delicious options. Waitress gave me a couple tastes of what I was looking for. We also got a trio cheese board. Been here twice, during the day and at night. During the day it's more casual and at night it's super swanky and upscale. A friend and I were fiending for some high quality chocolate at 10:30 pm and what could we do to quell our craving? Why, drive to Beverly Hills of course! So we leave the gym by the airport and make our way across town to go to there. Since I've only been there during the day I expected it to be cool to roll up in our athleisure. Wrong move. It's a LOT more casual for brunch. We were the most underdressed by far, people were there in full suits and cocktail dresses. We asked our hostess if we can pop in for a drink and they were cool enough to let us have a drink and get our chocolate fix! Much appreciated guys . Their wine list is absolutely outstanding. They have a huge selection of bottles and a pretty big list of wines by the glass. You can try some really rare, high quality wines by the glass here which is really cool. But be warned, they do not come cheap. Inside, they have a a little deli counter with cheeses and meats. Behind it was where they have the good stuff: carefully curated high quality chocolate from all over the country and world. I came here for a business lunch with an important client, and he suggested it. I knew I was in LaLa land when I saw Kelsey Grammer get out of his own car at the valet stand to walk into this restaurant. Can I have the cheese platter and a side of celebrity with that? I like this place, it has a cool-casual vibe, where the communal tables and the racks of wine cellars makes it want to tell you it ain't a big deal. But, oh yeah, it is. Was down from San Diego for the weekend with my husband and out of town guests, I wanted my husband to see this place and he loved it too! This was my first time dining at this restaurant. First walking in I noticed the beautiful ambience this restaurant offered. The hostess and server was extremely kind and welcoming. I had let my server recommend me all the dishes that I ordered and they were great recommendations. For my appetizers I start off with the truffle Caesar salad which was very refreshing and very recommended. Secondly was the steak tartare and I have to say the quality was amazing. Lastly for my main entree I ordered the WAGYU NY steak. this for me was the best option on the menu that I ordered, a definite must have! I will be coming back to this restaurant happily! I really want to give Wally's five stars, so the good first: The store is incredible. Every wine and booze you can think of, an amazing assortment of cheeses and other tasty goods. The restaurant makes amazing food, literally everything is mouth watering from the baked Brie to the truffle bolognese. Also one of the few places that actually puts shaved truffle on their truffle fries. TRUFFLE OIL BE DAMNED!! However the service is always sub-par. For instance our last visit we were quoted a 35 minute wait time and ended up waiting over an hour and a half. While we waited we watched a guy, presumably a manager/owner, running around acting like he was coked out having drinks with different tables and blatantly bringing random parties into the restaurant ahead of the wait list. Wish we could have had as much fun as him. After we finally sat down we ordered a bottle of champagne... and they brought us a WARM bottle. So we had to sit and wait 30 minutes for the bottle to chill and we weren't even offered a glass of anything while we waited. I get that sometimes places have an off night, but between the horrendous wait and the warm bottle, not a single person apologized to us. Not once. Apparently business as usual for these folks. Really unfortunate because otherwise Wally's would be a home run. read more

This one's partially on me because I didn't check Yelp before placing an online order with Wally's. I've been to Wally's in-person a few times before so I just assumed they were legit. But right now when I search this review page for the term "online", every review that shows up involving an online order for wine/spirits is currently 1*, with the exception of a single 2* review. Yikes, buyer beware!!! So, it's no surprise that my experience was no different. I was actually exceedingly patient with Wally's, since the website says to allow 3-5 business days for order processing. But 10+ days later I still hadn't heard a thing, so I e-mailed Wally's. Several more days passed without any reply, so I called the store. A rep eventually got back to me who claimed my entire order was on hold because they were waiting on a warehouse transfer for just ONE item in the entire order. This is ridiculous on so many levels. Why does Wally's not believe they should communicate a multi-week delay, ship out the available items first, or just ship directly from each warehouse? Why does it even take weeks for a warehouse transfer in the first place? Oh, and it gets worse. Despite the rep assuring me the delayed item was in stock and the transfer was underway, they later claimed it was no longer available. This forces me to wonder if everything they told me was all lies. Even best case, they delayed my order for weeks for nothing. Incredibly, to add insult to injury, they didn't refund my money and stopped returning my e-mails/calls. I had to file a chargeback to get my money back. It's a shame because I've enjoyed my in-person experiences at this Beverly Hills store, but my awful experience placing an online order here ensures I will never patronize this business again, in-person or otherwise. read more

Back again and this time for dinner. The food was mostly as good as I had expected. The dinner menu further demonstrated both the breadth and the depth of chef Feau's culinary skills. The Purple and Blue salad is refreshing; the buffalo blue cheese helped gave this light dish some added "weight". The "casserole" with pan fried sea bream and crispy pork belly was our favorite of the evening. It is not really a casserole that most people know as; the pan is more just a container. It reminds me of Les Cocottes in Paris, which serves every hot dish in a small cast iron skillet - cocotte. The skin of the fish was crispy as was the cubes of pork belly and the broth was full of flavors. The popular Wally's cappuccino dessert was also more delicious than I'd expected. The crunch of the hazelnut cookie crumbs give the pudding-like dessert an extra dimension of textures. The two minor disappointments and the cause of the drop of a star: The cauliflower could be a little more roasted and less salty. The $85 half Mary's chicken was a little over-cooked and dry; however, the flavor of the dish as a whole was fantastic. I hope the dryness of the chicken is just an anomaly because this is a must for truffle lovers. The truffle flavor in this dish was unmistakable and we savored every drop of the sauce. The pan fried smashed fingerling potatoes were surprisingly crunchy and delicious. Can't wait to try out the other dishes the next time. read more

Beautiful space to enjoy stellar wines. The many walls containing wine bottles are gorgeous and greatly add to the ambiance of the place. There's plenty of seating, with the center tables communal-style. This place is perfect for both couples and bigger groups. The wine list is extensive, with wines from all over the world like Australia, Germany, France and more as well as some local California ones as well. The sommelier that helped us was sweet and well-informed and made some great suggestions for both our wine and cheese pairings. We were interested in trying a few different white wines and started off with a really nice, dry Sauvignon blanc. Then, we moved on to two different Rieslings, both from Germany - 2015 Wittmann and 2015 Donnhoff. Both were delicious and refreshing, with one much sweeter than the other but eek can't remember which one that was... They offer a full food menu to accompany the wines and a huge variety of cheese offerings. Ask for pairing recommendations! We opted for a plate of two different cheeses (one to pair with the Sauvignon blanc and one to pair with the Rieslings) and a meat. The plate was beautifully presented and the perfect amount to share between two. Cheeses come accompanied by bread, candied pecans, dried fruit and pickles. Appreciated the complexity of the plate and the details like the whole grain mustard and honey to complement the respective cheeses. So good and really elevated our wines. Note: come here expecting to drop some $$$ but you'll leave wine-happy. Keep in mind that the price range of the glasses of wine is crazy. While there are plenty of options at the $20 and under range, there's also several $50 glasses and even a $225 one. So if you don't want to be surprised by your bill at the end, keep an eye on what you're ordering. For 2 people, our bill came out to about $100 before tax and tip - reasonable considering the quality of our wines and cheeses and overall experience. read more
