The incident caused significant damage and a dangerous situation that could have been much worse. After months of communication, Mavis eventually paid my insurance company for the vehicle repairs. However, they have refused to reimburse me for the out-of-pocket expenses I incurred because of their mistake, including rental car costs and lost wages. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but Mavis still declined to take responsibility for these additional expenses that resulted directly from their negligence. While the repairs were eventually handled through insurance, the lack of accountability for the full impact on the customer is disappointing. I would strongly recommend others double-check any work done on their vehicle before leaving the shop.

We have had a Take 5 fleet account for six years and have never had a problem until this location…read more Took our 2025 Chrysler Pacifica in on March 4 for a routine oil change. Two months old, under 5,000 miles. Left the shop and the low oil pressure light came on almost immediately, so our driver pulled over and parked it. Called the store. The manager, Michael, sent an employee out to check it. That employee found the oil filter had not been fully seated and the engine had no oil left in it. He put six quarts in on the spot. We had it towed to an independent shop. They found multiple engine codes and metal shavings in the filter and throughout the oil. I have the photos. The engine was gone. Two month old vehicle, full engine replacement. Then it got worse. Michael and his district manager refused to open a claim. Our regional manager stayed in contact with him for a week, sent him the inspection report he asked for, and set up a time for him to come look at the vehicle. He never showed. Later he told an insurance rep he had not heard about any of it until a week after the fact, which is not true. He was the first person we called the day it happened and he is the one who sent his own employee out to confirm the problem. Corporate told us the store is independently owned and sent us back to the franchise owner, who ignored us completely. The van was down for 92 days. It is wheelchair accessible and we use it to transport elderly and disabled patients. Any shop can mess up an oil change. Owning it is the part that matters, and nobody here was willing to.

The guys here were very nice and not pushy. They changed my oil, checked my filters and did a small inspection on all my fluids etc. They pulled a cabin filter out of my car and showed it to me. It was filthy and needed to be changed. I was surprised that the Snellville location had not seen this filthy filter(?) The prices were fair, service great and I was satisfied with the products used as well. This is my new go to for oil changes!

He immediately got me in for another appointment and made it his personal mission to diagnose my ac again. He even went as far as getting the team to take the system apart piece by piece and was able to solve the mystery on why my Freon was leaking and found that yes in fact I had zero Freon in the car (as I Suspected last week). He contacted me numerous times throughout the day to keep me updated. We're both hoping this is time we figured out the solution but he also schedule me in for another follow up in a couple weeks to ensure what we thought was the fix is really the fix and to make sure no additional leaking happens. Very please to say I didn't have to dump the establishment as I was very fond of them prior to this last visit. Thank you for going the extra mile to fix a bad experience.

He came in and told me everything looked good, including telling me that my brakes were good and to check them again come winter time. My car was making no noises before coming in. Leaving their lot I noticed a slight squeal but chalked it up to wet brakes, as it was raining. I barely get into Alabama and my brakes start makes an awful noise I got to Texas, had my friend check my brakes, and what you see pictured was the state of my brakes on the front passenger side. My driver side could not be removed because the bolts were rounded. I will not ever return for any service. I'm lucky I didn't have a brake failure.

Early the next morning I took the vehicle to my dealership who said the damage was caused by over tightening of the oil filter housing. I had lost 3 1/2 quarts of oil driving to and from work. That cost me $1,500. I went back to grease monkey to be reimbursed. They will not reimburse the money, even though it is clearly written out by the dealership that the damage was caused from the oil change. We are now sueing them for the $1,500 and the price of the oil change, along with attorney fees. Mike the manger was as rude as rude can be. There are a lot of bad reviews of this location since it has changed hands. Read them all before you take your vehicles to this location.
