With a promotional half-price coupon in hand that I received in the mail, I went here May 2025, soon after they opened. Of course they were generous with half-price coupons, because their price of $90 was twice what most quick lube businesses charge. They replaced the gasket and plug for the oil pan, as some lube businesses often do. Problem was, the gasket and plug were the wrong size. Oil leaked daily onto my garage floor. That sometimes happened soon after oil changes I guess because of overfill, but usually stops within a few days. I was patient, waited a week, still leaking. Another week, again still leaking. Thir week, still dripping. Finally, I decided to return to them, but Norwich is out of my way, so I waited another week for when I would be in the area anyway. The polite and honest staff member admitted to me that the gasket and plug were the wrong size. Repeat, he admitted to me that the fault was theirs. To replace them, the oil had to be drained and replaced. His supervisor very rudely told me I should have returned to them immediately rather than a month later, so he demanded that I pay for another oil change. Being trapped inside their garage, I was in a poor position to refuse, so we negotiated I pay just for the price only of the oil, which after tax came to $29. In other words, the coupon-discounted price of an oil change elsewhere. This unpleasant experience happened in May 2025, and here it is August 2026. I waited this long to chronicle my unfortunate experience because of a conversation I had yesterday with my usual car mechanic, who is both highly skilled and totally trustworthy. He told me that he remedied two of his other customers from the Norwich Take 5's incompetence for not having sufficiently tightened the oil filter, which caused continual oil dripping.
