I arrived exactly at 8 am which was opening time, they were open and ready to go very promptly. I couldn't be happier with the overall experience. all the mechanics seemed very well trained, not only in the mechanics aspect, but as sales people. Very knowledgeable in all aspects of the vehicle. Literally in and out with an oil change in less than half an hour. The price point is very average, and I even was able to find a Groupon, that got the end price better than taking to the Honda dealership. I am glad they've gotten less pushy about selling wipers, lights and filters or other treatments. Valvoline corporate must have realized this was not a very good tactic. Will continue to take vehicles here in the future and I highly recommend this location. read more

Needed an oil change, and the Toyota service center had a month wait to get an appointment so we decided to go here instead. They have got the customer service thing DOWN! We were greeted as soon as we pulled in, with such enthusiasm, and the oil change was done full service with us still in the car in under 15 minutes. They answered all our questions (we only recently got this car and was unfamiliar with a lot of stuff) with such friendly faces & was so patient with us. I usually hate small talk but they welcomed us into the town and the conversations felt super natural. The price is super reasonable, they also gave us a military discount. And the service was top notch. None of that shady trying-to-get-us-to-buy-unnecessary-services. Thank you! read more

Was originally going to give 1 star, but changed it after talking to one of the guys in the shop the day after my oil change. I was going to give 1 star, as I was recommended various services that were INCREDIBLY far from necessary based on my vehicle's owner manual. Notably, I was repeatedly recommended a full flush and replace of my transmission fluid ($160 service), and even was told it was a manufacturer recommendation to have it done. My car is at ~40,000 miles, they recommended the service at 30,000 miles, while the owner's manual recommends 150,000 miles! I called their shop today to let them know of this huge discrepancy, and unfortunately the shop is not able to do anything themselves about the issue as these recommendations are handed down and strictly enforced by corporate. In addition, it cost $70 for a synthetic blend oil that they sticker at only lasting 3,000 mi (expensive!). So why not 1 star? Well the shop employees were very nice, and were happy to discuss all of these problems even if they can't fix them. BOTTOM LINE: I will not be going here again, as the customer service is not enough to make up for the high costs and inaccurate recommendations. read more

Called ahead to get an estimate on wait time. Ended up pulling my car in immediately when I got there. Came specifically for an oil change & had a digital coupon. The workers asked if I wanted to get some other services while I was there. I declined and they didn't push it. Immediately greeted by a friendly technician. Place looks clean. The experience reminds me of a drive thru car wash almost. You pull into a bay run some diagnostics and try to sell you a bunch of stuff. Pretty typical to sell sell sell but they went a little too aggressive on trying to sell me stuff, hence the 4 star review. Raise your hand if you ever dread getting your oil changed? You have to awkwardly sit there and uncomfortable decline all the add ons until the transaction is over. I'll admit I have not been the most helpful in these kind of oil change places. How loud it is or the way some employees just have had their fill with customers. I can gladly say I didn't have this experience at all during this visit. I was warmly greeted by Taylor who gave me a run down of the process. This is normally when my mind goes blank because I'm being asked questions I'm not sure how to answer. Taylor was very patient and took over if I was unsure about something. I had a promotion through Groupon and the system waS having such a hard Ike processing it. Mark ( I believe his name wAs) assured me they would honor the promotion either way. I was already preparing for an awkward conversation with Groupon or valvolinee but his initiative saved me from that. Robinson the magician in the front made great suggestions and was honest with replacement recommendations. I took two very old, very high mileage cars to the Groton Valvoline this week. The work was done quickly and thoroughly, with lots of good advice about which things really needed to be done and when, and what we didn't need to worry about. We both just for the basic oil change and some fluids topped off. In etrospect I should have changed out the wipers as advised as their price was really competitive. ANYHOW The day after its oil change, the car died. I called the shop asking the tech if maybe there was something that had come loose that we could troubleshoot, and Matthew got in his family minivan - with wife and kids !- and drove half an hour to the broken down car (during a major storm) to see if he could help. It turns out (after getting it towed to a local mechanic) that it was the ignition coil, not something they could diagnose on the side of a busy road in the wind and rain. But just having someone there to bounce ideas off of took away a lot of my stress. Thanks Matthew! read more

If you are looking for a fast oil change this the place to go. It's pretty much a drive thru oil change. I waited about 15 minutes in line and then it took about 15 minutes for them to change my oil. They also top off other fluids and check a lot of other aspects of your car. They have a Military Discount as well, which was a plus. Overall was a pleasant experience will definitely go back. While I was waiting in line I checked out there website and they had some coupons on there as well for like $5-$10 off different services. read more

I've been here twice in the past month - once for an oil change and once for an AC recharge. They are incredibly fast and efficient as well as affordable. As a female and someone who is not super knowledgeable about cars, I'm always appreciative when things are explained to me clearly yet without being patronizing. Everyone I interacted with at this location was very nice and helpful. I never felt pressured to add additional services or spend more money. Go elsewhere. Seriously. I brought my car in for an oil change. I had gotten the dash warning earlier in the day that one of my tires was low, so I figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone. I was told what would be done during my oil change upon arrival, including the oil change, fluid top off and air in my tires. Once it was done, my dash still said my tire was low (and the pressure hadn't changed). I mentioned this to the tech taking my payment. His answer? Oh, you have to drive for a while for the pressure to go up Sweetie, I drive this car daily. I'm usually the one that puts air in my tires. My car registers tire pressure within seconds. He refused to have the techs put more air in. Ooook. Tested his theory by driving for an hour and guess what? Ended up having to put air in myself. A few days later, I went to use my wiper fluid and guess what? EMPTY! The final straw was 2 weeks after my oil change, my heat stopped working properly. Took it to a legit mechanic, figuring I had a more expensive problem on my hands, only to find out my coolant was low. IT WAS NEVER TOPPED OFF and probably hadn't been the previous times I'd had it in to Valvoline for an oil change. Their website states they take care of all the stuff I've mentioned here, but they don't. I will NEVER take my vehicle to these lazy ass jerks again. read more

Service was good. They were very kind and polite. I'm always skeptical when I go to these franchised oil change places and when they told me my car battery was near dead and needed replacing I immediately said no. They didn't show me the results like my mechanic would on the machine. And no because my cat was under 3 years old (brand new) and it was only 30k miles. So I took my car to the Toyota dealership. They did a battery load and showed me the results. My battery was very well working and taking full charges- not dead. It ONLY needed a recharge. That might have been sitting in a Hawaii parking lot, to a boat, and then a lot for another couple of months while in transit. So I'd use your best judgement when they tell you to replace things with them. Get a second opinion- never hurts. read more

Great/Knowledgeable service. Got in and out in under 18-min. Did they try to "up-sell" sure, but let's be honest who doesn't now a-day! But what I will say is that he (forget his name) didn't try to force the sale. Heck even looked at things they couldn't do (serpentine belt) and redacted that immediately (politely). All in all the checks and top-offs were speedy and accurate. The coupon ($5 off) helped a bit with the cost as well. Full service for conventional cost only $36 after tax. Will definitely be back. My experience here was nothing but positive and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. James and his associates explained everything they were doing while they were doing it and provided me with recommended fixes that they could service but never pushed me. They were all extremely attentive, thorough and professional. They have a Groupon that makes it more affordable, but even then, I'll pay the extra to have it done as quickly as they did. I've always gotten great service but this time it was far from stellar. First they suggested new windshield wipers and I kid you not I had just replaced them 2 weeks prior with very expensive ones. 2. The guy said he couldn't check my oil because it was digital. Ahhh nope. I have a dip stick. He said it was blending in with the engine because the stick was black. 3. No masks to be seen during a time of Covid and I, as having cancer recently, kept mine on and the guy gave me an attitude because he couldn't hear me. Shaking his head rolling his eyes and saying what? What? 4. They gave me someone else's window sticker. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Oh and when I got home I realized my gas tank door was slightly open. I had gotten gas right before popping in for the oil change - not one of the guys running around my car noticed that? Very sad and I've gone there for years. I might have to rethink my next oil change. read more

Had an oil change done on 6/12/16 on 6/16 I notice an oil leak. Immediately returned to Groton valvoline . Had to wait 25 min. To be seen, I was told that the technician, and I use the term loosely. Had placed the wrong washer on the drain plug!! While the hood was up, I also noticed that the windshield fluid had not been filled. While the "technician" replaced the washer with the correct washer. I asked to visually see that the plug was NOT stripped. I was told it wasn't policy. I was shown a photo of the plug. Shortly after I was told since the general manger had given the ok I was allowed below to see that the plug was not damaged. Not once did the general manager approach me to apologize. I realize mistakes happen, however this could have been a catastrophe!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN. I'm reminded of this daily, by the oil stain in my driveway. read more

Came in for oil change as i always do at this location . Never had an issue until my last visit. They did their safety check with lights. They stated my license plates lights were out so they changed them. After the service was completed they did their final safety check. Went home and checked my license plates lights and they weren't working and noticed one was loose. Drive right back and the manager Matt who was the employee at my service came out cigarette lit. I told him what happened he said "dear, you have to turn your lights on" i said they are on. He then came and say the employee did break the part the light bulb goes into. He refunded the light bulb charge and said he'd call when the replacement part comes in. So after two days no call so i called him and low and behold he said my assistant was to call you and your part will be in Tuesday. I got pulled over today for no rear tail lights. So i called again and was told we didn't touch your taillights. I said you were supposed to check this and it was never noticed just like how did my car leave without my license plate lights working after you changed the bulbs. My 16 year old son went in and asked for the least expensive oil change and ended up with $160 engine flush and power steering fld. replacement. They told him it was all gunked up. Really, on a car with 44k miles. Watch out if your young and inexperienced in this place. Probably the same treatment for older folks, you will get taken advantage of!! read more
