The people here are vicious, cruel, and very vile. The workers here try and torture and bully the customers. One time, I had been shopping for 6 hours there. I could not believe I spent so long shopping there. I had to go to the bathroom. Well, they were unloading boxes near the bathroom. I asked if it was okay if I leave cart here and go to the bathroom. They said yes. I get out of the bathroom and my cart is gone. I was so angry. How could they bully and torture me like this? I felt like this was done on purpose to harass and torture me or bully me. I said I wanted to talk to the manager and the manager apologized. I was calling the police to file a harassment report since they were trying to harass me. Just as I was about to call the police, I saw my cart, but it had other stuff in there. Well, the front desk person apologized. I did not forgive them and then headed towards the cash register. Highly disappointed at the dismissive tone & lack of customer service my daughter & I received 1/20/18 by the "Customer Service Desk" @Walmart store #1893. Returned a damaged gift, was asked by clerk whether I wanted a store credit, to which I replied yes. Was handed a receipt & store gift card on which I was advised the credit was loaded. Shopped. At check out learned the credit was not loaded to the gift card. Finalized purchase & went back to service desk for them to correct their error. Was told there was nothing they could do. Service desk manager & on duty asst manager dismissive, rude, very lacking in customer service skills. Left the store w/o my gift, w/o my credit, & w/o the purchase I had made that was 3 + times the amount of the credit I should have received, simply on principle that customers should not be treated so poorly. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I have lived in the area over 8 years and even though i swear everytime i walk out of this hell hole that I will never return, I have made the mistake over and over. Not only do you have the horribly rude staff and cashiers, the people at the customer service desk look at you like your a piece of trash and thats after youve waited 10 minutes in line for your turn. Every time I walk through the door I see a huge return line usually 15 people to one cashier. On two occasions this year I have had to stand in that never ending line and it is the most annoying experience ever. Today I had to do an exchange and instead of crediting me for the items I was returning she rung the items I had already bought together with the exchange items. The manager was helpful but the staff was horrible. My family went in earlier in the evening to purchase a swing set. The person who helped us said they had swing sets but they were inaccessible. They were in the next area over and had two boxes on top of them. After searching for a picture to show us he seemed very helpful and said that he would have it ready for us by the time my boyfriend came back with his truck. When my boyfriend got back there, the doors were locked and the same guy had left without getting the box out for us. My boyfriend went to customer service and both times he had to get service from them they were rude and not helpful. Despite the fact that the website said they had outdoor baby swings in stock, no one seemed to know where they were. I discovered this Walmart while working in the Bowie/Crofton area and decided to give it a try. As a Montgomery County resident, I was alarmingly culture shocked; however, aside from the different environment, the service was disgustingly unprofessional. Employees lack professionalism on every level. When it came time to check out, I saw there was a hole in the pack of paper towels I was going to buy so I asked the associate if I could go and pick up another one and she gave me a hard time about attempting to put back a defective item that should not have been on the shelves to begin with! When I went back to grab another one, majority of the paper towels had holes in them! This encounter really frustrated me, as I have never experienced issues with wanting to purchase unopened items. I then went to the front end supervisor on duty by the name of Raven, and she made matters worse! She too was extremely unprofessional. I like Walmart but I have to say the service in the Optical department is horrible. I went in to buy contacts from there and immediately I knew it was going to be a horrid experience. When I got there Robin Tardy was helping a customer that did not want to be helped search for a pair of glasses when there was 3 other people in line waiting to be helped. Before helping me she had a nasty attitude with a customer that reserved to be seen at 9:30a. She repeatedly avoided trying to help her by telling her she could not be seen at 9:30a, she could not be reschedule within the next hour etc. and then looked at the lady she was avoiding and said "I'm just trying to help you." Eventually the lady left and did not return. When it came time to meet with me she avoided me as well and went to helping the first lady search for glasses again (Note: This lady did not as nor want more help with looking for glasses). Eventually Robin walks back over to me and ask me what I need. I told her I needed contacts and I had my old boxes in hand. She immediately tried to shut me down and say "well I can't help you, I need a prescription". I went ahead and called my eye doctor to fax over a prescription and had it sent over. Finally the fax came over and once again Robin found her way to helping the lady look for glasses again while leaving me to wait another 30m to be helped. In this time I grew impatient and grabbed the faxed prescription myself and proceed to hand it over to her. At that point it just elevated her to become the most nastiest person she could ever be. After she went ahead and let me make my purchase I was glad to get out of there for her attitude, poor management, and people skills were horrible. So note if your going to be helped by Robin Tardy at Walmart in Bowie definitely beware for a rude, senseless, and disturbed being to help you. For I know I won't go back here to get my contacts or to shop. She definitely left a bad taste in my mouth about all Walmarts! read more

I've been living in Bowie, MD for a little over 2 years now and for the life of me can't figure out the poor customer service and helpless atmosphere in the Walmort off of 301 in Bowie, MD. It's as if they hire people that just need a job to survive! I made the mistake of placing an online order and having it shipped to this Walmart. The first time I arrived at the store the little kiosk to check in was broke so I proceeded to stand in line...30 minutes later the line still wasn't moving and the employees were walking in/out of the back room like zombies...literally! Came back on day 2 and the kiosk was working so I checked in and it said my order was "processing" so I proceeded to stay in line 30 minutes...again, employees walked in and out the back room as if they were lifeless, no customer courtesy to at least apologize for the wait so again I left. Day 3, the kiosk worked, there were no lines and my wait for 10 minutes...I thank God Almighty that my package was there because my patience had run so thin I thought I was going to go up in a puff of smoke if I had to wait another 30 minutes!! Never...I mean NEVER have a package shipped to this Walmart. Not only are their prices higher (may be a PG County thing) but they are very poorly staffed. I even smiled and greeted the cashier and he barely spoke and looked at me as if to say "do I know you". When I proceeded to engage him he stated he was tired and ready to go home. I smiled and said "well I hope you have a great New Year" and he said nothing...absolutely NOTHING and turned his head. I'm not sayin' we gotta' be friends but man, at least be courteous to the customers...after all...your JOB IS IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! On Friday October 16th, I placed two separate on-line orders with Walmart for delivery to the Bowie store. On Oct 23rd I received an email stating one of the orders was ready for pick-up. Around Noon I arrived at the store, and after going through what appeared to be a total disorganized mess, they found my order. I inquired on the second order and was told that it had not arrived. I drove home and around 4 pm I thought I would look at the second order for tracking information. I found that in fact the order was received by Bowie at 9:39 AM that day. I called the store and explained how the order was received. They assured me that order had "not" been received. I then gave the employee the UPS tracking number and the name of the employee who signed for the item. They asked me to wait, after about 5 minutes they said they found the order. I drove back to the store and there was a woman in line waiting to pick up her on-line orders. While the employee was digging through the disorganization, the lady waiting for her items turned to me and whispered, "they never get anything right". When my turn came, they gave me the item and told me that an assistant manager would have to approve the order. They paged an asst. manager several times. Finally someone showed up and had to override the system. I was told the system had issues. In conclusion, all I can say is this, I spent an extra hour in order to receive my items, no other store that I have used, and had my orders delivered to their store for pick-up, has these issues. Next time, regardless of any price difference, I will be ordering from either Target, Home Depot or someone other supplier. Shopping with Walmart is not worth the waste of time and frustration. P.S. I emailed the above comment to Walmart on their website on October 23rd but no one responded. I have lived in the area for about 3 years give or take a month or two. I tend to shop at the Severn Walmart because it's a super center that I can find all the things I need in one trip, the store is clean, and the staff is knowledgeable and nice for the most part. The drive to get to Severn is just a minor consequence just as long as I don't have to visit this one close to me. I have had too many experiences where the staff was rude, lines were ridiculously LONG, and most of the time, I've had to make another trip to another store because their inventory is almost all the time M.I.A. Today took the cake. I went shopping at the Severn Walmart for groceries yesterday. I realized today that they forgot to pack my ricotta cheese while in the middle of making lasagna. I figured since I was at the other Walmart and still had my receipt I could just get the ricotta cheese they forgot to pack and keep it moving. Not the case unfortunately. This situation has happened before and never had any trouble because I had the receipt. The rep actually tells me there is nothing to be done and if I wanted my cheese, I would have to drive all the way back to Severn just to get it. I understand if I was saying that the check out person forgot something major like an electronic item, but we're talking cheese for like $2! Why would a person lie about something like cheese is beyond me. I was so irritated at the experience and unwillingness I just went ahead and bought the cheese again. If I wasn't in the middle of making lasagna, I would have gone back to Severn and saved myself the evitable headache when shopping here. Never again! read more
