This Walmart is connected to the Buena Park Downtown. It is like every other Walmart you've been too so don't expect happy faces and sunshine. On this particular trip, I dropped off my used engine oil. Everywhere has a 5 gallon limit, so bring it in before you reach the max. Walmart is one of those stores that I typically will not come to unless I need something and cannot find it elsewhere. With that said the Walmart at Buena Park Mall is one of the better locations around in my opinion. If there is one big negative to this location it is by far the parking situation. Despite this Walmart being at the mall the parking sucks. No matter what time I get here day or night I must park well away from the building and walk (which is a task in itself in this parking lot). The drivers who drive thru this area do not yield for pedestrians trying to get in/out of this location and I have almost been hit on numerous occasions from someone pulling out without looking and then slamming hard on their brakes. A general rule of the road is if I am turning right I usually look to my right as well prior to turning. With that out of the way this Walmart is put together quite well compared to other locations I have been in. The aisles all tend to have a little more room to maneuver yourself through the store, the prices are good (price match is also available) and the sheer amount of goods they sale is off the charts. The service here can be hit or miss depending on who you get but overall is friendly and efficient enough to not be a hindrance. They have a large garden and grocery section and I love the fact that they will check you out at the registers near the Garden section to avoid the crowd in the front of the store. The customers here are sometimes a bit unruly and unkempt but all in all are a tolerable bunch. Is this the best Walmart store I have been to, not by a long shot but I have also been to much worse. The prices are good, the selection is good and the customer service is passable. I will be back. read more

I had a store pick up today for alimentum formula for my baby. 8 Bottles of RTF formula. And guess what. They are all expired. I called the store right after i saw it. I went home after my 12hours shift. Good thing i checked the bottle before i give the formula to my baby. I spoke with laex one of the associates and said unfortunately i cant return it now coz the return certain are closed. Like wtf its an emergency return since its their fault and my baby need it. I don't know what it is about Buena Park Walmart but they really should hire better workers or train them to know where everything is located at. I asked a simple question as to where the photo section was and this middle aged lady had no idea. Come on!! Really??? The store is like any other Walmart filled with a lot of employees and the isles are sometimes clean and other times not. It really all depends. Parking can be a little bit difficult if you want to park in the front. I don't like how many of the Walmarts lighting is. I'm not sure exactly why but it just feels grungy and a little germy. I don't think Walmarts are for me but I came here to get my pictures and one thing about that is that out of three photos one of them had a slight edge which would not fit with my frame!! This Walmart store is ridiculous. My family and I came to this location to pick up a few things for our trip to Disneyland. We grabbed our items and proceeded to check out. Some of the items we had were on Clarence and last one pile on and in.We let them know the prices were incorrect and then showed them where it was on the aisle by the registers. The cashiers were extremely rude and not helpful saying no that was not the right price even though they turned around and saw it for themselves. I would not honor it. Her Walmarts policy they have to honor the price if it is there and give you additional $3off for the inconvenience. We were given neither nor and left all items and did not purchase. We will not be going to this Walmart ever again very rude and unprofessional staff members including the manager on duty. read more

Just be aware Walmart Buena Park no longer takes any returns due to Covid 19, it's been years since I returned anything at Walmart however I had a hard time believe or understand the clerk saying then no longer take any returns I spoke to a assistant manager who said they may take returns in the future but they do not at the moment not at all I questions where is the signs saying no returns he could point to me signs at returns department when I asked why isn't there any no return signs at the entrance or at the registers Or on the receipt to make the customers aware prior to making purchases like many other stores do his response was when I go to a store I do not buy stuff with the intent to returning them, fortunately I made a purchase with a credit card so I'm just gonna dispute my credit card charges, merchant fail to comply with its own policy. read more

I've been going to this Walmart in Buena Park for years. It varies in whether or not it wants to open into the mall it's now about 10:15 in the door still not open. Unfortunately the McDonald's is going under renovation so that's closed too. We had the most wonderful checker she's from Egypt didn't catch her name but I would love to hire an employee like her. I'd love to have 50 of her !!! I'll always keep shopping here after all its Wallmart but but they really should open the doors to the mall on time just not apologize because they're not open. just saying... read more

Apparently this particular location does not accept returns without a receipt. Someone purchased items that were not on my registry that I do not plan to use and does come up in Walmart's system, however they refused to give me store credit or even exchange. Very unhelpful. read more

It is such a dismay that this store seemed to be lacking of right people who could train their people properly. Id say there were few good ones but most of them are tired unfriendly ladies who does not want to help out. They were paid to do a job yet their attitude towards customers who makes the business going for them suck badly. Everytime you need someone it is mostly guaranteed that you will wait for more than 30 "minutes waiting for assistance and when they come they are either grumpy, unfriendly if not crude! Whoever is handling this store they must be overpaid because customer service here is way beyond poor! read more

OMG- parking lot is so crazy and busy on the weekends. The inside is crowded, too. While all the check out lanes are full, check out is fast. Low cost products. Parents are planning to go somewhere needing for luggage, and we came here to get the 4-set, nice looking, luggage. They also have the 5-set luggage. They are cheaper compared to Target or Ross. The manager of the electronics department was very uninformed about what products her department carried. I am usually helped by another very knowledgeable younger man. I think his name is Michael? The manager straight up said she didn't have a certain item and the employee said "Yes, we do..." and proceeded to walk directly to the item and help me choose what I needed. Utter disappointment in the management, get her out of there honestly. Maybe she can go sell sweaters in Clothing? But she was definitely not fit to be MANAGER of ELECTRONICS. I don't even think the young man was an actual employee of WalMart (electronics usually has Company sent, commission based workers in that section) but I'll confirm this today. This experience was within the last few months and I'm dreading going there today but it's local. Hopefully they've gotten a better manager or head of department by now. read more

Got caught up in holiday shopping I forgot to ask for gift receipts. $130something dollars worth of merchandise later...I had to go back and Erwin was nice enough to print me out all of my gift receipts. The line was long and it was super crowded but the staff behind the counter was really nice and helpful. A lot of the customers didn't respect the line or are rude but both gentlemen behind the counter (along with their female supervisor) kept their cool and were professional the entire time. This has been THE WORST Walmart experience, granted it's "Walmart" so I don't really expect to be treated like a king but I at least expect to be treated with respect especially when I approach you with respect and a smile! A group of 4 friends and I (5 persons total) were trying to purchase a case of beer and two pies to take to a family BBQ. When we get to the cash register and it's our turn to be checked out the cashier, Desire, immediately snatches the case of beer and tells us with a bad attitude that she needs to see EVERYONES id or she's not selling us the beer. Even though she had a bad attitude we ALL still politely asked why we all had to provide id if only one person was paying. She rolled her eyes and told us that's Walmart's policy. To avoid starting a scene and giving Desire a piece of my mind and further prolonging all the other customers behind us we just walk away and looked for a manager. We ask the manager about their alcohol policy and she explains that everyone in the party needs to show id when purchasing alcohol. We were completely fine with the policy, what we really had a problem was Desires attitude. The manager then tries to defend her by saying that she probably had an attitude because the policy is such a hassle when dealing with big groups and teenagers (my friends and I are all well over 21) and that she seen the entire incident. So what that tells me is that the managers see the bad attitude Desire displays and don't have a problem with it. read more

This is for the automotive department. This place used to be the best place for me, as for as location, their customer service, maintaining their "first come first serve" policy and so on. Now they make 2 ques, one for oil change and one for tire. And the have only 1 tire guy who also work on oil side. So once the oil change is done, you get a new que. If someone comes after you, for tire only, you'll be behind him... They hired young kids who don't even know how to talk with customers. I felt like I was talking with gang members in a club. I'm done with this place, will never bring my car here again. read more

We saw her and asked her if she cold help us to locate a Vitamin and she told us in a rude way to check it out by ourselves and ignored us by asking the next customer if she needed help. I went to the electronics section looking for an adapter to buy for my iPhone 7, and the guy helping me seemed really busy and told me it might take a second . since he seemed to be the only person working in that section I didn't mind waiting . Next thing I see is him walking into the back, and at this point I was hoping he was grabbing my item. He never came back . I waited for 20 min , then asked a new guy who came back on the floor what had happened. Apparently the first guy helping me just went on his break and completely forgot about helping not just me but everyone else waiting . This is why I despise Walmart sometimes . I just went to Walmart and needed contact solution from behind a glass case. I went up to the first employee I saw to ask for assistance.. as I was barely starting to speak she rudely interrupted me and cut me off.. her words were "I dont have a key, if u need something there's a box and u press the button" Now i know she had a walkie with her she couldve easily called someone to assist me or at least shown me where this box is.. show some sort of attentiveness.. Jennifer from cosmetics with blue short hair shouldn't be working in customer service if she is not willing to assist. Then I passed by her again and another customer was asking her for help she then again gave that customer a bad attitude. Be cautious! I have very terrible experience today. I shopped some stuffs for my kids today at this Walmart, and self-checked. The machine did not let me pay after I scanned all the items. Then the cashier said sorry and invited me to a different self-check. I transferred all my stuffs to new check out, and scanned about 15-20 items again and I missed one. Yes, I did not realize it there and did not scan that item, just 1 and that toy under $5. I did not try to hide it. But the staffs stopped me at the gate and took me to a small room, wanted to see my ID, forced me signed a form, and took picture of me without explaining to me what was happening. What the heck! It is just a toy under $5 and any parents or people can miss it when they are hurry to shop during their lunch break and thinking of their kids. OMG! I cannot believe that. I know that was my fault but I did not mean to steal it. I, as a busy parent, just made a mistake. Instead of giving me an option to pay for it, they took me to the room without listening to me. Now, I am scared of shopping there. Many times, cashiers scanned the item I bought twice or messed up with my order, I never filed a complaint. And now I forgot to scan 1 small item while still paying for the whole cart, Walmart takes it as a big deal. They treated me like I was a theft although no evidence that I did it on purpose. This is where you should send your mortal enemy to shop. I have the hardest time finding the candy aisle. No, not the Christmas mess but normal candy aisle. Speaking of the Christmas mess, it was horrible two weeks ago and I can't imagine that it would look any nicer the closer we approach the reason for the season. Great prices on festive holiday mugs but most are defects (hence the bargain). Same goes with the picture frames, gift bags, travel mugs, etc. Even their Christmas cards are wonky. The folding lines are all noticeably off. So why 2 stars? Shout out to the cashier who fit 16 items into one bag only costing me .10 cents, you da real MVP. I then had to explain to the person who answered the phone what I was looking for, and I even had to spell it for her. Absolute worst in customer service. Review is for rude cashier named Alexandria. We purchased almost $200 worth of items today and a couple of them are 2 qty 6-pack Crystal Gyser packed in cardboard box to replace our emergency supply. She started ripping the Crystal Gyser box and said that she had to scan each of the bottles. My husband said why can't she just get one bottle and scan it 12 times. She said that they sell it by the bottle and she needs to open it and scan each bottle. We insisted that she can scan 1 bottle 12 times then she told us to get one bottle so she can scan. Seriously, that is her job. I took a gallon and gave it to her to scan 12 times. Does she think we're dumb? We know how barcodes and POS system works, she obviously doesn't like what she's doing so she better look for another job. She'll just cause a lot of negative reviews for Walmart BP. The managers at this Walmart should screen their customer facing employees Alexandria obviously should not be placed in a position where there is customer contact, her demeanor shows that she doesn't want to interact with customers. Came here for the auto center. I called in advance and one of the employees at the auto center assured me it would get done at the normal wait. But when I got here they said the wait will be around 1.5 hours. That's not at all average. They told me someone called out earlier, which made me think why wouldn't they tell me that if I only called 15 minutes prior. In the end I waited more than 1.5 hrs, and I'm not the only one. Thank God for the attached mall so I had somewhere to walk around. read more

Let's just say prior to this Walmart was not my favorite store. I always avoided having to go in Walmart because I felt like for some reason it gave me a stressful and hectic shopping environment. But since the pandemic I've been using their online order and curbside pickup service and it has been a savior and my go to method of weekly grocery shopping. I haven't been in a grocery store in ages! The app is really easy to order from and their curbside pickup process is extremely streamlined and synchronized with the app. Sometimes they even give you really cute freebies :) The personnel that put the groceries in my car have all been amazing and I appreciate them very much!! The only negative thing is that sometimes they give you fruit or cheese that has mold on it but they replace it for you right away no questions. I'm sure Walmart can improve on this. Overall I'm extremely happy with this free service and I hope Walmart continues to provide it! read more

This used to be my go to, this store has really gone down hill. I went tonight, to take my mom for some necessities- they have detergent pods in a locked cabinet, I rang the bell for service, an employee was walking by I asked if he could unlock the cabinets- he said what do you need (it's all detergent pods in the cabinet) I respond tide pods, he unlocked it - he says which ones I said the container to the left.... Rudely he said you need to point to it... I pointed, he grabbed the container and I reached out to grab the container from him, he walked away saying they'll be placed at the register. My mom was telling me of a different time she went and used the same service bell system - after 40 minutes of waiting she got a hold of an employee walking by and the employee told her to find someone that worked in that department, she told her she's been waiting the employee told her "not my problem." Went out to start my truck this morning and *PFFFT* my battery was dead. I knew this was going to happen soon. So I got my truck going and headed to Walmart for a new battery. Got to the auto center there at about 7:45. I pulled up and as I got out of my truck, a man came out to help me right away. He opened my hood and checked things out, and went inside to check stock and options for my battery. He came back in a moment with 3 price range options. I made my choice, he started a work order and sent me inside. He said it would just be a few minutes. Sure enough, in 15 minutes I was done. Paid a very fair price for the battery with a 3 year warranty and was out of there and on my way to work. Excellent technician AND a very cheerful, pleasant cashier there in the automotive section.. I forgot her unusual name, but it starts with an "L". Thanks for making this so easy! read more
