I recently purchased an air mattress for holiday guests at the Walmart store located at 3661 Truxel Road Sacramento, CA 95834. When I opened the box, I was shocked and disappointed. The air mattress was not only filthy and obviously used, but it reeked of marijuana. I did not panic, rest assured Walmart would allow me to return the item and get my $74.00 back. I was offended Walmart would allow an item in such condition to be sold. I attempted to return the item at the Walmart store located at 10075 Bruceville Road in Elk Grove, California 95757. I was advised I could not return the item for refund, despite the deplorable condition. I could only exchange for a new air bed. Considering the item's condition, I had little faith Walmart would be able to exchange for a new, unused item. I requested my money back with Anabell, one of the store's assistant managers. Anabell was an embarrassing ambassador for the Walmart brand. She not only refused a refund, claiming air beds can never be returned, she consistently bad-mouthed the Walmart location where the item was purchased. After consistently attempting to receive refund of my hard-earned money, I was forced to exchange the item. Anabell's consistent degradation of the Walmart brand was embarrassing. I advised her of her complete lack of customer service abilities. I was offended by the item Walmart attempted to pass off as "new". I believe a full refund of the $74.00 was acceptable given the horrendous experience I received from Anabell and the Elk Grove, California Walmart. I have worked in customer service as a manager for 20+ years and have always instructed my representatives to treat the customer with respect and to assess all situations individually. Anabell did not. Furthermore, her continued disrespectful comments of the entire Walmart brand should be an embarrassment for the Walmart brand. She is not an ambassador for the brand, and I am concerned her lack of customer service skills will only create lackluster service representatives. read more

HORRIBLE EMPLOYEES... I guess working there you feel the need to FLEX your authority, because in your pathetic life you aren't anything. Tonight I was told I couldn't buy more than ONE cleaning product. I had 10 Lysol wipes, floor cleaner and Pine Sol. The girl flagged me down and said ONE product per family. The tweeker-looking manager then came over and said sorry! It's posted ONE cleaning product per household! I explained there were over 75 Lysol wipes on the shelf and its posted TOP shelf, where there is nothing! NOPE, she didn't care! But GO FIGURE when this C19 shit started, the WALMART EMPLOYEES were the ones buying ALL of the GERM-X. I watched, on more than one occasion, a Walmart STOCKER grab the the boxes off the pallet and walk over to the sporting goods register and have a friend ring them up. This was when there were NONE available and they scooped them up before the customers had a chance. Now today I cant buy more than ONE cleaning product? They just lost a $500 sale, as my cart was FULL and we walked away, leaving them to return it all... TARGET here we come! read more

I purchased a bike from the inventory at the store and a bike helmet using the website, then went to pick it up. Everything was going fine until I decided that I didn't like the helmet which I had just paid for and told them I'd like to return it. You'd think this should be a smooth sailing situation, well it wasn't. Somehow the computer was saying that a refund had already taken place. I thought to myself that is impossible, I JUST picked up the bike 5 minutes ago... But due to some to error in their computer system, I waited for almost 45 minutes before they decided to give me a store credit gift card. No one could explain why the computer was saying that I'd already returned them and that a refund was given, 5 minutes after I walked out with the bike and helmet. Somehow, it said returned for BOTH. What a bunch of bull. read more

The ONLY reason I come here is because I live minutes away and the prices. But this wal mart really SUCKS! Horrible customer service and long ass lines. Seriously can you have more than 2-3 cashiers at a time???!?? And when did everyone who is with you have to show their drivers license just to purchase alcohol??!? I'm damn near 30 years old and I cant buy alcohol here if I'm here with someone under 21?!!! Wow idk if it's just this walmart but the managers need to tell their cashiers to stop that bullshit. Besides this location being newer, there isn't much else that stands out at this Walmart. Just like any other location, the prices are what usually draws me here in the first place. I definitely would prefer this location over the others nearby however; it's less crowded and cleaner. They do have a little bit of everything from groceries to auto care and I do like to walk almost every aisle just to browse sales and new items. I also never expect to find an employee to help me except for when I'm ready to check out. I could walk the entire store and see no employee who will ask if I need help or see an employee rushing the opposite direction of me. Like I said before, I don't expect much here. read more

Managed to find some decoration pieces I did not even know I wanted, super cute finds. Giant parking lot and the cashier and door greeter were really friendly and nice. read more

I'm leaving a review based on their Customer Service area for online purchases. Overall the actual store if kept up really nice, the store doesn't feel overly crowded all the time. I've made a couple of online purchases and had them sent to the store. I did my shopping and came back later after the line had gone down. I stood in line and when it was my turn the girl behind the counter told me for online orders I needed to stand in the "online purchases" line. Ok, there was a sign and I did see that, but there wasn't anyone there, so I figured waiting in the other line would have been ok. Apparently it annoyed her that she had to walk a few steps to the other register. It took her a while to find what I ordered and came back to ask me what else I ordered. I provided her with the information the first time so she could look it up, but I guess it wasn't in front of her, so I showed her my documentation again. She brings my box out, opens it, takes my stuff out and then puts it back in the opened box. I've never had them open my box, she told me they are supposed to. The other Walmart has never done that and I was a little annoyed. I asked to leave that opened box there and left with my stuff. This recent purchase was a DVD, I stood in the "online purchase" line and waited. The sign said to press the screen for assistance. The only screen that I saw was the one you used to pay with that kept saying still processing. Nothing else. There was only one person in the other line, then another person arrived and that person got helped. I stood there for about 10 min or it felt that long, before I got helped. The lady comes to help me and then tells me that I should have stood in the other line. WTH? I told her that the last time I was here, I was advised that I needed to stand in the line I was in. She also didn't seem too happy to look for my order. There were actually two ladies behind the counter and I wish I could remember the other ladies names, because she was very nice and when the lady helping me was struggling to find my DVD, she asked me what I ordered and went to help. They gave me my sealed purchase and didn't open it like the lady the first time. Bottom line, is if someone is standing in the "online purchases" line, don't ignore them. They might actually be there to pick something up. read more

I am nit very happy with Walmart. I purchased a Walmart visa debit card today. I had a Greendot card also purchased at this walmart location and it did what I wanted which was to prevent online access to my bank accounts via my debit card. But because of all the fraud and numerous on authorized charges Green Dot terminated my account and advise me when I call them today that I was not welcome as a customer and then refund my $11.33 it was still on the old Green Dot account. When I purchase the Walmart debit card Visa I asked the girl who work there if this was through Green Dot and she said she didn't know but there was no indication on the front package when I got home I took pictures of the reverse package and enlarged it on my cell phone and found that it was it won't work are through Green Dot so it was worthless to me I have put $20 on the card only wanting to put 10 but the clerk at the counter said that it wouldn't go through and then I have to put more money into the account period so I increased it by the $10 and paid a $1 fee for the card. Upon finding that I would not be able to activate the card I went to the Walmart in West Sacramento who refused to issue a refund and said that I could try going back to the Bruceville location but she showed me on the receipt in tiny print again that the sale was final so I didn't bother going and spending more gas on a wild goose chase to recover my money . So my problem is that nowhere on the display was there a sign indicating that the purchase and putting money into the account is final and no refunds! Two , I shouldn't be forced to drive from one location to the other Walmart location to be issued a refund after all I have the receipt the package was still in pristine condition unopened. So in an attempt to recover my money I plan to sell it to a friend who also wants to go online and maybe he'll have better luck not running into scam websites. In my opinion Walmart is acting like a scam company with this policy and their lack of advisement as to Returns on these prepaid cards. To have somebody like myself with poor vision try to read such fun small print is Criminal. For Walmart not to have a sign stating all sales final for these cards and no refunds for the money placed in the card again is Criminal it would take him two sons and two minutes on a computer and printer to print up a sign disclosing such facts. So in this instant I give Walmart poor grades for this particular transaction. I even spoke to the manager at the West Sacramento location and receive no assistance whatsoever other than two passed the buck back to the Bruceville store horrible horrible customer service! read more

Yeay! A non-ghetto Walmart in Elk Grove! Because it's new and in a new development, it's 10x better than the other Walmart on Elk Grove Blvd. Everything is clean, I haven't witnessed any "the people of Walmart" and the cashiers have all been friendly to me. I like that this location has a Subway in the store and McDonald's in the same parking lot. It did take me a few trips to get used to where everything is but I don't mind coming here if I can't make it to Target. read more

New Walmart in Elk Grove that has recently opened. The service here is pretty good as employees are very eager and helpful in helping you locate items in the store. With this store being new it can get crowded after work and on weekends. Be careful in driving out of parking lot and heading North on Bruceville as drivers ignore the speed limit and can close the gap on you very quickly. read more

I come to this Walmart because it's close to where I live. I'll start with what's wrong. 1. Workers are unprofessional and have no sense of urgency. Just by looking at their outward appearance you notice they have unkempt hair, dirty clothes and are over weight. No sense of pride. They work slowly and have personal conversations with each other right in front of u. 2. They are always out of things which is sign of bad management. 3. The workers all seem like they're trainees and not well versed in their depts. 3. The clientele is really bad too. Fat, obese, overweight dirty ppl who look and dress like Duck Dynasty. Sooo, I come here very often with my family. All of the employees have been very nice. Today...there was an employee walking towards the back in the bathroom aisles and my cousin and I said that we had a question.....immediately he stopped and put his hands up and said "ummmmm.....yeah, I'm off the clock, sorry" and he kept walking while my cousin and I stood there staring at eachother cause of how rude he was. After that guy, we went up to another employee who looked like he was having a long day (his name was peter) and we asked if he knew where some pegs were for a shelf in a cabinet. Instead of just telling us which aisle it was in, he walked us over and showed us our options. He was very nice and very polite and asked if there was anything else we needed help with. We said thank you to him and we told him we were very happy with his customer service and that we would yelp about our experience. It's nice to have this walmart in the local area but like any other Wal-Mart dont expect good customer service. I was there to get ingredients for dinner this one night and I needed Kosher salt, they ran out on the isle but I was told there would be more in the back. They sent someone to get it but it took forever! (actually it never came at all!) When I approached the food isle manager (this blonde middle aged lady) She just looked at me with a frustrated look and said " I dont have access to that right now sir " I'm like wth? Someone just scanned the barcode and said Walmart has more in the back! She looks at me again and says " I Just dont have access to it right now " then walks away from me and doesnt apologize or anything. I wanted to throw something at her. Waste of my time. read more

I recently went to this "new" Walmart a few weeks ago. I usually go to the one on Florin, but that one is so busy and so crowded all the time. So I go to the one on Elk Grove Blvd. I like that one cause its 24 Hours. Anyways, I was driving and I seen this new Walmart. I decided to go in, because it LOOKED new and was less crowded. I enter the store, nice to look at, but the people who go here seem real snobby and uppity. This is Elk Grove!! Stop walking around like you live in some gated community in Beverly Hills!! Its funny how people put on airs, and "act" like they are more then what they are. If you think that Elk Grove is an affluent neighborhood, then I can tell that you really have been NOWHERE. read more

This is definitely better to shop than the other Elk Grove location. It's newer, and with fewer customers, much more pleasant to shop. Problem is interacting with the staff. They are slow and don't have the product knowledge (like electronics) of the other store. read more

I venture to the one that shows it has it stock only to be told they DONT price match their OWN fucking website! This review is from the course of the years I've shopped at this location. This store use to be the go to Walmart where everything was in stock and associates actually worked their departments, keeping them full. I'm not sure what changed but it's starting to go down hill. On numerous occasions I've been blocked by a stock cart with 2-3 employees surrounding it gabbing about their personal lives or talking about another employee, barely giving enough room for a customer to go around them. Not even acknowledging the customers that try to go through. Not professional at all!!! Imagine all the empty holes that could be filled in your store if your employees worked the stock and not their mouths. Speaking of inventory, two things that I've noticed that are annoying. 1. The top shelves of your gondolas have way too much product on them to the point of almost falling down and hurting someone. The candy isle is a perfect example. But judging by how the candy is stocked, along with how the other isles look, your employees don't understand the importance of facing and putting products away neatly. Some customers are just rude and rummage through things but it's no excuse to not have a kept up store 2. Whoever is in charge of your inventory needs to learn how to control it better. Too many times I've come in a second time to purchase an item that was out the first time and it was still out of stock. This is even when an employee has said it will be in the "next shipment". But seeing how the top of the gondolas are it could of been thrown on the top with all the other over stock items, who knows, but it's an inconvenience to your shoppers. The last thing I want to review about this store is the lack of urgency when it comes to cleaning up a spill. My mom and I went to your store yesterday and needed to get some handi wipes (which once again, you were out of). Going down your cleaning aisle, there was an employee scanning the air fresheners. Next to the right of her on the ground was a large spill of what looked like carpet powder, which took up half the width of the isle. She just stood there not even a foot away, scanning her section. My mom went down the isle right next to this employee even stating it was slippery. Employee heard her, still standing there not doing a thing about it. I was at the end of the isle and said it should get cleaned up before someone slips and falls. The employee still just scanned her items until my mom had to go up to her and say, "This spill really needs to be cleaned up before someone falls." The employee just looked at her and said "okay". Took her forever and used a paper towel only to clean it with no liquid to get the fine powder off the ground ‍ If you see a spill, the first thing you should of done was cleaned it up before you started scanning your items. Safety first, not scanning. I use to work retail for 20 years and know its not the easiest job at times, but at least take pride in your work and make it a safe place for your customers to shop. This store either needs to retrain their employees or get ones that know how to do their jobs. read more

Absolutely HATE this Walmart! never a good experience. When shopping here, if you decide to buy alcohol dont bring your kids with you because they wont sell you alcohol unless they check your id and everyone else with you! I forgot my wallet today while having a quick bite with my BF at Wrap and Roll. We decided to pick up some beer here but of course one there a huge line again with just 3 registers open. When we got up the the cashier, she asked for my iD also?? ! Stores usually don't check everyone else with them etc.. At least the stores I go to. Not at Raleys, Not at Safeway and definitely not at Target. I bought some beer at Target today and the cashier of course only carded me because I was the one buying. Not everyone else with me. This is the first! I wasn't even the one buying. My BF and I are over 21 of course but just the fact they have to check everyone? If I was grocery shopping with my kids in the future when I do actually have kids.. should I not be able to pick up a bottle of wine or beer? Doesn't make sense, right? Again I will never shop at this Walmart again! Never a good experience! I'll pay the extra and shop at Target instead! Thanks Walmart for turning your Customers away from your unorganized, poor Customer Service neighborhood store. If I can give negative stars I would! This new Walmart is large and has a decent selection of goods. However, when compared to the West Sacramento location it doesn't fair as well. There is a Subway located inside. The grocery side is not that great, because they didn't carry much of what I was looking for. The produce is sparse at this point, but may increase as time goes by. Overall the store is by clean and there were several associates asking if I needed help, which is a plus for me. read more

I went to Walmart at 8:20 am to return one item I purchased yesterday and there was only one person working at the return desk. There were about 7-10 people in front of me. I wasn't helped until 9:07 am. In a huge store like Walmart, they couldn't find one other person to work at the return desk to speed things up???? Several people in front of me and behind me left in frustration because the line was moving so slow and it still took roughly 45 minutes for me to get helped. When I got to the cashier, she didn't apologize for the wait, she just processed my return as if it's normal to wait 45 minutes to return one item. So, for the future, I will only buy toiletries and basic supplies, I won't purchase other more expensive items as I know if I need to return it for any reason, I would need to stand in line for 45 minutes. If I'm going to go to Walmart, I go to this one. It's new and clean and pretty well laid out. I've used the site to store shipping a couple times and while it is convenient with no shipping costs, they usually take a while to find the product I ordered and get it up to me at the counter. Sometimes it's way in the back and they have to cart it up. It can take 15 minutes or so sometimes. I've also tried to call them to make sure something has arrived that I ordered and they can't always get to the phone since their customer service desk is always busy and the person can't get away to answer the phone. They guy in the sporting good section that helped me when I was there was really informative and a good asset to the team. Knew the answer to every question I had about some ammo and that was pretty impressive. read more

I usually don't write reviews for super stores because most of the time I know that it won't really change anything or deter anyone from going. It's like writing a scathing review about McDonalds, no one is going to care. It's McDonalds. Yet, I have to say that today my experience was so bad that I have to write a review. Short story, I bought some items, I forgot my receipt, I returned 20 minutes later to get a reprint, and I get told by the staff person that she's not sure if they can. Her name was Hannah and she was exceptionally helpful. Honestly the reason why this review is a two star review. Well she calls the manager, and I wait, and I wait some more. So I call customer service while I keep waiting. The person on the phone tells me that I absolutely can get a copy of the receipt. While she is reaffirming that I can get a copy the manager shows up and proceeds to tell me that it is impossible to get a copy of a receipt. "Our systems do not work like that" The lady on the phone puts me on hold and calls the location. I get transferred to the ASM, and she tells me that it is difficult to do. I give her the last four digits of my card, and the total price. Boom! like magic after 5 minutes it appears. Amazing right? Who knew that a big corporation would keep meticulous records of their sales. After 5 minutes I get my receipt. I spent 30 something minutes just trying to get a receipt, when it could have taken only 5, if they wouldn't have lied about it. Apparently printing a receipt at walmart is the bane of any employee. So if you made it this far, three things to take away from this. 1: Hannah was awesome, above and beyond. 2: Instore Customer service sucks, call the number and remain on hold. They get results and 3. Do not forget your receipt because you will waste 30 minutes of your life trying to get a copy. read more

Trying to return something for the pool. Have the receipt but some of the numbers are rubbed off..they want to give me store credit as if I don't have my receipt. The cashier was Dozie and the manager Lacorie took care of me and gave me my cash back!!! Even though the manager lacorie walked up and didn't acknowledge or even look at me I'm still grateful that he was able to override and give me my cash back!! read more

Not a supercenter. Why not? There's plenty of space in the lot for one. Seems kind of a waste to build one and not make it a supercenter. They have a fairly extensive grocery section but no fresh meats and the produce is terrible. I walked out. My time is valuable. I'll go someplace that's a one stop shop. Never buy from Walmart.com they are a pain in the arse. To do a return or exchange because they sent you damaged stuff, you end up talking to a girl in the Philippines who talks for a half hour when it only take 1 minute to relay the information. Then, you have to wait to get an email, agree to the terms, print the return label, wait more days to get your order then send their product back. Should have just done business with people with more than a quarter of a brain. read more

I love how clean this Walmart is! As usual I come here for one thing but come out with so much more than I had planned to buy. It doesn't get too crowded like the other Walmart, parking is easy, and there are self check out registers which makes it super convenient if you're not picking up too much stuff. This one however is not open 24 hours like the one near the freeway. read more

Visits to this Walmart are usually specific and quick- in and out on most days! I truly don't understand why this Walmart is not a super Walmart when there are already two other Walmarts in Elk Grove and this was the newest one built- on a huge lot all by itself...but I digress. :-) Any time we've needed assistance someone has been available or responded quickly- the lines are average for what you'd expect from a Walmart type store and they do have a decent number of self check out stands if you're purchase isn't too massive or complicated. Aside from customer service, the restroom (ladies) can use some more frequent attention - the one time I HAD to use the facilities, the floors were wet, there was tissue and seat covers all over the stalls that kept trying to adhere to my shoes- yuck; and only one of two paper towel holders had any towels. read more

Went in to get a fishing license thought it would be convenient HUH!! don't bother......No one works in the department and most employees do not know how to work the machine. The manager finally came and told me she was not trained to work the machine.
