Omg this place should not even exist?! You feel like walking into a barn! No help from any of the associates. The place is def understaffed, under stocked and there are more open and tested/used products on the shelves than brand new sealed. I ordered something online and selected the in store pickup option because I needed it ASAP. I waited 20 minutes at the pick up desk with 5 other people with none of the 7 workers passing by without asking If we needed assistance. I choose Walmart for the prices but this Walmart was one of the worst I've been to. I was picking up otc meds for a sick family member. So, I had to ask this lady to help me with 6 different items placed in various isles in the pharmacy section. I gave an extra star because she was very helpful and had excellent customer service. But I couldn't help but feel like a bother because I had to ask for assistance. Everything was locked up.. I hadn't seen this much security for things, ever. Even the generic Tylenol that was $0.98, was locked up. Anyway, I make my way to the front to checkout. It was a bit chaotic. I choose self checkout because it's less wait. After that, I stuff my receipt in my purse and hold all my items because I couldn't find the bags to purchase. At the door, I have to fish my receipt out to show the doorman so I put my stuff in the floor while I do so and have all these customers behind me waiting. Awkward to enter from Van Nuys Blvd. I should have taken the hint They need to adequately train and staff this location. I went to return an item. I had to sit and wait 30 minutes for a customer service manager because the regular person did not have authority. Worst Walmart ever! The customer service is absolutely atrocious, the customers walking around in the store are rude, and they have the most horrendous parking lot I have ever been to. Absolutely atrocious. Everyone drives like a madman here and people walking around just cut in and out in front of vehicles as they please. This Walmart should be closed!!! Short: The supervisor Gaby is a LIAR. Verify anything she tells you!! Long: I had to return something I bought from Walmart.com and this was the closest location to me. When I started to process the return I was informed that there was an issue with the transaction so I had to call Walmart.com CS. The CS rep from Walmart.com told me that it was an issue with the local stores database and they could call 700Walmart to clarify. I had the CS on speakerphone and informed the store rep how to correct them the rep got Gaby, a supervisor, involved. Gaby refused to call 700Walmart and told me it was an issue that Walmart.com had to fix. The rep on speakerphone heard this and told them it is NOT an issue with Walmart.com but with the store's database itself. Gaby still refused. I asked for a store manager or her supervisor and she straight lied (you will see how I know) that there were none in the store. The CS rep transferred me to a Walmart.com supervisor then this supervisor called the store directly and spoke to the assistant manager and informed me a member of management would come down to help me. Assistant Manager LorAnne comes down and Gaby is trying to coverup for her lack of customer service, which eventually caused LorAnna to call 700Walmart herself. LorAnne was able to clarify/verify my issue within 2 minutes. I informed management about how unhelpful Gaby was and LorAnne appeared upset also. My returned was completed with the help of an assistant manager, who I was told was not available. If I didn't hold my ground I would have had to take this item to another store or have Walmart.con send UPS/Fedex to pick it up as a return. read more

I purchased a floor lamp lamp online shipped by Walmart. This product is defective because the screw was off side and that's why the whole lamp could not be installed properly. I went to Walmart Van Nuys to return, they said it can't be returned in store because I purchased it online. I called manager, young lady with serious attitude problems. This place is disgusting. the hair products are nexts to the breads jus the product placement is gross. Donuts and Hair Gel?? Really?? Anyway they stock during business hrs so it's an obstacle course to shop. It has a terrible odor frm tht damn cafe and the escalators are always broken. Tht place is awful. But once you get over that and you walk in to the Walmart it is so disorganized!! Once you get over that you hear the babies crying ,and the loud people, the zoo parking even late at night (if I were you I wouldn't go there when the sun set) and you would prob just want to leave just like I do everytime. This has to have been the worst Walmart shopping experience of my life. The entrance smelled as though they were storing raw sewage in the place. I was in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the looted Walmart there was in a better state than the store in Panorama City. The place was trashed, smelled and was about as comfortable as a Haitian sweat lodge. I went in to buy a bike pump and had to go back 3 times because each pump was missing pieces or did not work. Been going to this Walmart for a while since it's up the street. could be some changes here. The store is always crowded. Anytime I go I feel I'm searching for parking and waiting in long lines. The the check out people are extremely slow even in the fast lane. I thought the first few times I was there is was because of the customers... But no. Also they charge a lot for bags! For some reason there is always a police car Parked in front of the store. Not a good sign. Store is not that clean but I've seen worse. Most people who work there don't know much about the store. And it's really hard to get help in the electronics department. More than half the employees are over 40 Years old It seems, which I don't have a problem with except when I need help in another area if the store or need something carried out, I have to wait like 15-20 min for a younger guy to come help me. And most of workers are always checking there phones. I would be careful buying clothes, they tend not to last sometimes. Always check your receipt, sometimes they ring up your items wrong or the price is not right. As a matter of fact. They did that to me today. On a good note. Prices are cheap. I am not usually one to write a bad review but I think I should warn you all about this place. I called in looking for a Polaroid camera. I called in and was put on hold for over TWENTY minutes. After every five minutes it gets transferred back to the operator or whoever is in charge. The poor lady would answer and recognize my voice and immediately say, "I am so sorry, let me transfer you again". When a gentlemen that is "in charge" of the electronics department finally picked it up i informed him of what I was looking for. HE HAD NO IDEA WHAT A POLAROID CAMERA WAS, AND HE CLAIMS TO BE IN CHARGE OF ELECTRONICS. The other day I had to go into this location in order to buy my favorite soda. I pay and am about to leave when I decide to go up to the snack center there and try to get a straw because the vending machine outside also carries cold ones of my favorite soda as well and I like to use straws on can drinks. As I approach the counter I notice that all of the napkins, utensils, and straws that would usually be in front of the counter are behind it. I stop the lady working behind the counter and ask her for a straw with which she replies that I can't have one because they're only for the fountain drinks. I replied back that "I just bought something in this very store and I can't have a straw?" with which she replied again "No", and that the straws are for the fountain drinks and she will not give me one. Now I know that Wal-Mart tries to save money wherever it can, but this is beyond cheap and shows an utter lack of goodwill towards their customers to be so stingy as to not hand out one straw, which probably doesn't happen that often, to one person that cost them between 1/2 to 2 cents per straw. This is utterly beyond cheap, and one in a long line of reasons that I try to frequent their stores as little as humanly possible. read more

It's the epitome of what you expect from any walmart; this one is no exception. I come here having this in mind and manage to bare with it. I don't come for the experience I come for the product at the low price it is sold at and then go on with my life. AVOID! The "customer service" manager EDDIE is horrible and is no better than a robot. I had a gift card from a return that WALMART gave me, and tried to use it to make a purchase. The cashier had trouble scanning the card, to he began to type it in. (This happened before when I used the card). I swiped my bank card, and the purchase went through, without using the giftcard. Instead of admitting his mistake, he called the CSM Eddie, who had no answers for me, and handled the whole thing like a kitten. He told me to go to Returns, and wait another 20 MINUTES to return. When I finally got to returns, they told me the system would not read the card and I had to call the number on the back of the card. Got home, called, and guess what? I did have $$ on the card, the exact amount I had told them. How is it that my dial-tone phone could punch in the # on my card, and the machines at WALMART, which process thousands of transactions/day, could not? Point is- I get that your machines are not reading my card, but as a Customer Service manager, you are not a machine. He could have overridden something, or at the very least, has less of an attitude about it. Give me a break! read more

I never like leaving negative reviews but my visit to this Walmart was just awful. Customer service is beyond rude. I wasn't sure were the online pick up was so I waited in the customer services line. The girl at the register was helping a person who she didn't understand because she didn't speak Spanish. She kept calling a manager to translate and no one listened to her. Finally I asked if I could help translate and was on my way to the second floor. Came to pick up order that I ordered online and waited more than 20 mins. The rep I spoke to at first seemed upset. He was cussing at his computer for freezing and then told me to wait as he called his manager more than a dozen times. At the end of all the waiting I find out they didn't have the item I paid for online. Now I wait on a refund to go back to my account in a couple of days. So disappointed. read more

I decided recently to switch from commuting to work by bike instead of car. I searched for the best price and it was at Walmart, and I assumed that a company that large would be able to source my Schwinn in no time. I was sooooo WRONG. I got confirmation that they had my order ready to pick up an hour after I placed it so I headed over. I'd tell you of the details about finding the hard to find pick up desk but that only makes it easier for you if you go...don't go. Anyway, I found it and waited at the unmanned desk with another customer for about 15 minutes before a woman came out and tended to me. She brought up my order and she informed me that only my helmet was there and they refunded the rest to my card because the rest of the items weren't there. The other customer said "Ooooh yeah, this place is the worst" No phone call? No text? No email? I came home to make sure and all I found were confirmations that my bike was in stock.
