I purchased a grill online for pickup at this location. Upon arriving and pressing the required green button for service a worker came from the back, looked at me and then continued marking things on a shelf without saying a word to me. Once he was done and acknowledged me, he informed me that the guy who works the floor jack where my grill was, was on break. He then took almost 10 min to locate two other workers to help. The box the grill came in was in taters and pieces where on the verge of falling out. The only reason this isn't getting a lower review is that the grill had all of its pieces. read more

Walmart used to offer low prices by cutting some corners elsewhere. Walmart now offers average prices while cutting corners everywhere. I went here out of convenience to buy a bottle of champagne and shop with the girlfriend. We checked out SEPARATELY and I was informed they needed to check her ID in order for me to purchase alcohol. NEWS FLASH: Walmart is not Bev-Mo. Walmart sells things other than alcohol, so to refuse to sell me a bottle of champagne because I happened to be shopping with my girlfriend is belligerent age discrimination. The remainder of what we had were groceries. The helpful cashier was sure to inform me of this policy, half mumbling and unable to maintain eye contact, while he messed up and rang my 20 year old girlfriend up for the champagne... If we had not let him know he messed up, she would have paid for that bottle of champagne they refused to sell to 21 year old me. His manager did not even know why they had this policy, her name was Chrissy I believe. If you are going to refuse to sell product to someone of age, and accidentally sell product to someone underage, at least tell the customer why you have such a ridiculous policy. I will not be shopping here anymore. The quality of management is unfit at best and I have not encountered any remarkable floor staff/ cashiers. read more

This is by far, the worst Wal Mart I have ever been to, and I am from the South so let that speak volumes for you. Customer service is a out right joke, if you ask for something the person you are asking looks at you like you have a third eye. Yesterday I was trying to get information about a toy I saw online that was "in stock" in my store.. I asked THREE different people, none of which even offered to help me find the toy. They were busy standing around pretending to be busy, one man even had the nerve to look at me funny when I asked, all the while his butt crack was shining out for the world to see, yet I was the crazy one.. Christmas shopping... I also once witnessed the little grumpy asian lady in the garden section yelling at a handicap person because he was asking her a question as she was ringing someone else up. It was stomach churning so much that I had to ask her to stop. Which leads me to another point, do you guys beat those garden center workers? Why are they ALL always so horrible? I can come in with a smile and leave disgruntled and irritated in a matter of checking out with some toilet paper when coming through the garden section. Parking in front of the garden center is always plentiful, there are plenty of people around to help you find products, and they stock all of the necessities. The checkout line can be long sometimes, but that seems to be the case at most stores. This place is crawling with Marines that come up from Camp Pendleton to do their shopping. It always makes me smile to see and acknowledge those people that serve our country. read more

This Walmart tire center is a joke. Took them a hour to patch up a tire. And another 30 mins to find someone to pay. The people in the tire area refuse to go inside and look for someone. My husband is on crutches and I can't do much walking myself and they say just walk around the store to find someone to charge out for a tire patch. While sitting and waiting to charge out the older gentleman asked the younger guy to help and he refused to stop stocking to go charge us out. Where did the customer service go. read more

Although hidden away from the freeway (usually Wal-marts are conveniently close to the fwy due to ongoing road-trippers) I am very much surprised that people in San Clemente believe in savings and cheap prices. I've been buying from Walmart since it opened in this location. Prices are pretty good, mostly a little cheaper than other places. I prefer it to Target because Walmart has a self-checkout, which I find extremely handy and use all of the time. I actually asked Target if they would set up a self checkout but they told me that their customers love it the way it is! The only problem with Walmart is the return desk. Badly organized; I've seen at least 15 people waiting to return an item and only one employee working that area. I'd like to see an employee actually working the jewelry/watch area. It's difficult finding someone to help. read more

Worst tire shop experience EVER! These guys work slow as molasses. A 10-minute tire rotation job turned into over an hour. Four techs just stood around for the 15 minutes like they didn't what they were doing. Then every movement was deliberately slow. Don't go here unless you have a ton of time to waste. He readily retrieved a coffee maker box atop the high palet and even though it was not the one desired, he researched my choice to try and find it! What a great situation of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. I ordered two TV's on-line, had a phone call because of security issue, not a problem. One TV delivered the other one cancelled because no stock. Re-ordered another TV, ordered cancelled with out anyone contacting because of.....security issues. I used the same card, same details, same delivery address, order cancelled!!!! If it wasn't such a good deal I would suggest to Walmark they stick their TV where the sun doesn't shine. Obviously a management issue, draw the conclusion that they aren't the sharpest tools in the box, perhaps pay the extra dollar and get some better quality. read more

For being a Wal-Mart, it's one of the better ones I've seen in the Orange County area. Compared to other Wal-Marts I've seen, this place is a palace. The floors and aisles are clean, and the staff speaks English and the place doesn't smell. There aren't many long waits in line (except around Christmas time), and the parking is ample. There are plenty of Marines there on the weekends, which makes me smile because hmmm... eye candy! read more

I've recently moved back to San Clemente and been to this Walmart many times since. I used to like coming here and even told people who hated Walmart that they should check out the one in San Clemente. I take all of that back. In my life, I have never met so many lazy people. You asked anyone for anything at this Walmart and they will do anything from absolutely ignore you to tell you they have no idea to telling you that they can call somebody for that department but nobody is going to come. What does that say about the employees at Walmart? The other day we asked the lady who was putting merchandise back on shelves where something was, we were right behind her and she ignored us so we walked around to her side, as we were walking around she started to walk away. We started to follow her saying excuse me and she obviously was trying to ignore us because she pushed her cart faster and tried to spend around a corner and then another Corner. Seriously? That's how you deal with customers asking questions? The other day, I was looking for something in electronics and nobody was there. I asked somebody in a Walmart uniform if they could call somebody to electronics. They said they could call somebody but nobody was going to come so it wasn't worth bothering. Hello, I'm a customer and I need help. There is absolutely no one they can call to help me? They don't even care to try? Just this evening, I am in the auto center, there is a cash register there and there are people waiting for their cars. The person tells me that there is no cashier there right now, they went on their break and nobody can do anything at that cash register until they come back which will be 30 minutes or more. I can wait if I want to. Seriously? I'm going to wait 30 minutes for more to check out? No, I don't want to wait 30 minutes or more and I was purchasing large items that I neither wanted to drag all the way to the front nor try to squeeze them through the check its in the front and I had parked in the back knowing I was buying these large items and no, I don't want to have to drag them all the way around to the back in the parking lot after checking out in front. What about all of the people who are waiting for service on their cars? Are they supposed to wait 3o minutes or more or walk all the way up to the front as well to check out? How can a company seriously hire people that just absolutely do not care about customer service at all to the point where they tell customers these things and how can a company seriously allow their customers to be treated this way? Because it is WalMart? I literally spend hundreds of dollars a week at WalMart and over a thousand often including this last week leading up to the 4th of July to stock up for camping, food, etc. I do not need to spend my money and be treated like this. I would rather drive a little further or to more than o e place or even pay a few dollars more than to patronize such a vile place. read more

I dread going here. 7 times out of 10, the visits I do have to make to this store, there is no one around to help at photo (and they won't be able to actually locate your photo order), long check out lines, slow cashiers, very little customer service... the other visits are simply on par for how a Walmart should be run. read more

First of all, the moment I walked in with my friends I noticed that it was a mainly white community. We stopped on the way to Dana point to get some snacks. When we were in the snack isle we noticed that the staff kept walking pass us. Then as we went to check out the speakers, another three staff members checked up on us, all within seconds of each other. We then went back to get some beverages and the same staff member we noticed earlier was walking pass us. We got this feeling that the staff was profiling us because of our race. Dirty. Disorganized. Poor selection. But even worse: At self-checkout I realized that the eggs I'd chosen were cracked. I approached the employee/attendant and asked if she would please have someone bring me another carton. She took the eggs from me and (I kid you not) said," I could, but they take a long time, so no." And she walked away. Walmart needs to roll back that employee to the unemployment line. I know that I should have asked for a manager, but it must've been around 7pm, and after working all day, I didn't feel like it. I was kind of hesitant with all the reviews on this store to come in, but I'm glad I did. I just moved to California and I needed everything around the house. This store is really clean compared to the Walmart's I'm used to. I was greeted by a Manager named Oscar that works in the hardware section. He was super helpful and nice. He is very knowledgeable about not only his area but other areas around the store. I did not know the layout of this store. He not only helped me all around the store, he also took the time to cash me out. Very friendly and approachable. I noticed other associates asking him questions and he also took time to answer them and point them in the right direction.If you have had issues in the store, I would recommend to, go find Oscar from hardware. Even his fellow workers look for him for help. I also noticed that this store decorates for Halloween and in the camping section they have a really nice set up displaying some nice camping ideas. I really like this store and I will continue to shop here due to the cleanliness and friendliness of Oscar. read more

Walmart may have a large variety for purchase, but the poor service should make a consumer think twice at this store. I was standing in the self-check out line, when the Walmart service person behind me ask the cashier at the front to help the gentleman BEHIND me with checking out. And, yes, I was the first person in the line, but being a mother with a young child does not mean that I will get service. A single gentleman behind me in line gets served first. Ignore the rules of first person standing in line as well as the fact that the first person in line was keeping an eye on a child, there was no need to provide her with service first. Target is a few blocks away and their self-service line doesn't have the process of pulling the customers in the back of the line to be served before the ones in front. I did call the store and spoke with the assistant manager and the reason for the one star is that the assistant manager did apologize and said that she will follow up with the individuals at the self-check out line. Do I think that this will resolve poor customer service? No. It comes down to training up front as oppose to training afterwards. And will it happen again? Probably. read more

She went to the register to pay for her things only to be told by the cashier named Tom that his register was closed, which was fine and my mother walked to another register. As soon as my mother had walked away to another register Tom decided to help a Caucasian woman who just waltzed up to the register after my mother. So Tom did you not want to ring up my mothers things because she is Hispanic?? And then you decided to help the lady who came after my mom because she's Caucasian?? Walmart you can review the video surveillance footage and watch Tom do exactly just that, Tom you're clearly racist because you saw my mother and her husband who are Hispanic and wouldn't help them because your register was "closed" but then help another lady who came after her.
