I just visited the Walmart, off nordahl, & have been visiting this location for quite some time, almost each time I visit, Shawn Snow, has been either the supervising manager, or manager on duty, each and. Every time I leave SO impressed. I myself have been in the service industry for almost 10yrs now and when I come across someone that is truly passionate and irreplaceable-it does not go unnoticed, he is simply why I am writing this review on the company right now........I am not going to lie I have not EVER had a good Walmart experience until I came to the Nordahl Walmart, and was able to be handled by Shawn Snow. He is one man/employee that truly impersonates what a GREAT employee should, not only loyalty to the company, but great customer service as well, I know that if I come to this location, and have Shawn as my check out person, I will have an experience that is worth a lifetime because of his generosity & him genuinely wanting to take care of me-these are all aspects as well as traits that are for a TRUE manager or even something greater! i am getting tired of store personnel not having the guts to tell people who go into stores with their dogs that they need to take them outside. there was so much barking in the store this evening (2 dogs fighting with each other) it sounded like Petsmart. This is a pretty good store, with just about everything for sale you could need. It is always crowded though, parking and in store. At least most items are well stocked, anyway.The prices on most items are great. And the employees are helpful and corteous. Plus, it is great that they have a mini arcade, a pharmacy, a McDonald's and more. Terrific superstore. read more

Third time not getting an item in my bags because of the cashier!!! This is a HUGE inconvenience on me and I'm sick of driving back to get the items THEY forgot to put in my bags. This Walmart would do a good business if they would stock their shelves. It's frustrating when the items you are seeking are not on the shelves after 4 visits. It's a waste of time. The have removed all of the self checkout lanes at this location. I will not be returning becuase of this. They are always understaffed on the check out lines. Average check out went from 1 minute using the self check out to 15+ minutes with a cashier. They have lost a good customer. read more

SCARY! While shopping, I encountered a boy who was lost. Poor guy. I brought over an employee for help. He seemed the least bit concerned. Didn't even comfort the scared boy (I did) and made us both wait 10minutes (while he finished his phone call) to make an overhead announcement and then he walked away to take care of other customers - leaving me with the boy. I was shocked. Places like Target have protocol for locking the doors up (nobody in or out) during a lost child incident. That mom was so thankful for me! read more

People love to hate Wal*Mart. There are a dozen reasons. People love Wal*Mart and there are as many reasons for this. Last year Wal*Mart grossed $400 billion dollars! That's LARGER than even an oil company! In fact, they are the largest grossing store in the world. In history even. They have 3 million employees world wide. But, let's try to be fair in this review. Give a bit of both sides. Con's: 1.) Wal*Mart pays employees cheaply and hates Unions. Well, if one doesn't like their pay at Wal*Mart they can move on. Nobody is nailing their foot to the floor. Employee benefits have gotten much better over the past 3 or 4 years however. Non-Union? GREAT! Look at what the Unions have done to our auto industry. Look at the teachers union and other government unions. Heck I found out that even our garbage men driving those big trucks can make up to $75 thousand per year! Give me a break! We're in a recession and heading to another Great Depression! We ALL have to cut back and that includes the Unions like SEIU that Obama loves so much. 2) Everything they have is from China. Well, not everything but a LOT. And, Wal*Mart has forced some of America's manufacturers out of business because they could not compete with their Chinese counterparts. I've been to China many times. They have 1,300,000,000 (one billion three hundred million) people in a land area about the size of the USA. We have 300 million people in the USA. Therefore, in many of their factories they have people making "stuff" for only $2 to $3 per day wage! But it's the fault of not only Wal*Mart but MOST of the large corporations. We have outsourced 70% of our manufacturing to China, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Mexico. We even outsource many of our white-collar jobs to India. Try calling your bank for your credit card balance and usually you're talking to someone from India. Anyway, American businesses and government entities have even sold China our technology! Think they won't use that against us in the future? They will! But it is the GREED of big American companies which has caused this, and this includes Wal*Mart. 3) Wal*Mart put a lot of local business out of business. True. Pro's: 1) Wal*Mart has a huge variety of products at low prices. People talk about the loss of their local store but if they were honest, many times one had to go to two or three different Mom 'n Pop type stores to get what they wanted. That sucked. It cost time, gas, and the prices were way higher than what Wal*Mart has. America was BUILT on invention, innovation and COMPETITION. 2) Good customer service. When I ask for help at Wal*Mart the person immediately helps me. He or she doesn't just point out the aisle the product is on but actually takes me there! 3) Checkout is fairly fast (even with all the people in the store) and the cashiers are competent. 4) Parking lot is huge. Yes, because sometimes it's full I have to park in the South 40 but sometimes I get in the front. We all can't park next to the front door! Conclusion. I don't mind Wal*Mart expanding around the world. I don't mind Wal*Mart making $400 billion dollars. That's the American way. I DO mind Wal*Mart forcing so much of its products to come from China. I'd rather pay a little more and have those manufacturing jobs back here in America and put the millions who are unemployed back to work. If we end up losing our manufacturing, our inventing and innovations, we'll be sunk as a nation... that's when we'll see Wal*Mart's profits decline. When we are broke. As a nation we can't depend on service jobs. What? Are we just going to sell hamburgers to each other? We need to BUY AMERICAN FIRST and push Wal*Mart (and Target and others) to sell MORE American made products. Read your labels folks and complain to the management about the lack of American made products. Buy MADE IN AMERICA (different from ASSEMBLED in America). Assembled in America means that the components were made overseas, shipped to America then some fat-cat corporation hired immigrants for cheap to screw 'em together. Support YOUR COUNTRY by COMPLAINING about non-American made products and DON'T WHINE if they cost more. read more

I ordered something from walmart. Com on the 3rd. I received an email yesterday, 4/3/2018 stating that my items were ready for pick up. So I went to pick them up today, the 11th and only two of the four items I purchased were there. So I said just give me my money back. They told me to call Walmart.com, so I did. With the help of candy and Leeland I was able to get a cash refund instead of it going back on my card and having to wait 2-5 business days for the refund. I live right next door to this walmart and I drive 5 miles out of my way to go to a different one in Vista. The customer service in this place is the worst I have ever experience in my life at any place in the WORLD. I called one time and was LITERALLY hung up on no less than 15 times. They just HUNG UP! LOL. It was comical to tell you the truth. I don't even want to go into the myriad of things that have gone wrong at this store in the last 5 years I've been going there, because it makes me crazy, but the drive to Vista AWAY from San Marcos is so well worth it. Every Day Low Prices at this larger Walmart with newer grocery aisles-in-front store layout. Staff reasonably helpful though not plentiful or immediately available. In store WiFi and in-store McDonald's WiFi at same location. Self-checkout can be busy but still fastest check out if you don't need help of a cashier ( not all items can be Self-checkout out.) Big free parking lot, but can be a long walk from an open parking space on busy weekends. read more

If you have a fear of dogs, are allergic to dogs or don't want to buy food that has been sniffed or licked by dogs do NOT enter this store. You'll see every manner of dog here walking with owners or RIDING IN THE GROCERY CARTS. Management only seems amused if you complain. One even told us about how great his dog is but did nothing. They claim they are not permitted to even ask if a dog is a service dog. This is not true according to the ADA law. Perhaps it's Walmart policy. Even though it IS a violation of California Health Code to allow non service dogs in a place that sells food these guys just don't care or don't have the balls to say anything. We LOVE dogs (my wife is a vet tech) but our daughter suffered a vicious attack when she was younger and is terrified to be sniffed by dogs. Dogs can carry ringworm, scabies, tapeworm or fleas and should NOT be taken into any store that sells groceries. Don't know which is more annoying, dog owners that are oblivious or Walmart managers who don't care about customer safety. As Walmart stockholders we find this infuriating. read more

so I went to this walmart to buy a micro SD chip for my new go pro camera and we went to the electronics section and there was no one there to help us because the chip was locked and we needed assistance to get it. there was 1 guy that worked there and he was busy chatting it up with another person. when another lady walked by she didn't work in that section so she couldn't help us but she found another guy to help us and he also couldn't because he didn't have the key so he had to find the original main guy that was chit chatting with another person about nothing important. he got the chip and without even asking if we needed anything else (which we were thinking of getting) and then when we paid he was like yup and he just kinda threw the thing we bought on the counter after he scanned it. I've met some really nice cashiers there but this guy was just terrible. read more

The store is relatively clean and neat, it's normally well stocked my only complaint is the number of crazy homeless people in the store and the people by the doors soliciting donations. I realize they have no control over the homeless people, but I don't like to be harassed by the crazy ones, it would be better if security spent their time watching those crazy people instead of checking receipts at the door. read more

Oh dearest walmart, I'm divorcing you this time. I had 2 different horrible experience over Christmas holiday. 1. I spent lots of my precious time uploading photos and carefully choosing personalized photo gifts including mugs calendars Christmas ornaments posters of my new baby and family. I was planning on giving these personal gifts to family and friends for Christmas. Well the order never showed up it was supposed to be delivered to my house so I waited an extra week and still nothing. finally, I went back on walmart.com to see that unbeknownst to me (no notification) that my order has been cancelled because they could not verify my credit card. Which is complete BS since I had just used the same credit card on a smaller order of Christmas cards that went through just fine. There was no way to reorder online and just use a new payment method. So I emailed them as the site directed me to and I got two different responses explaining why my card was not able to be verified and the order was cancelled the second email I sent I stated I did not care about why the card was not verified. I took more of my precious time went to Walmart and bought a gift card with the same credit card by the way. All I wanted to do was process the same order using the gift card instead. Well I got off the phone with a representative today who told me the only way to get my order was to completely redo the order with a new payment method meaning sit down upload the pictures choose all the gifts and pictures all over again. Incident number 2. My husband attempted to order a television online using a credit card purchase so I understand the extra security and appreciate that however they kept on denying his credit card. He looked into the reason why and even called the bank that the card is affiliated with there was no reason why it should have been rejected and on top of that Walmart reported it as a fraudulant purchase which caused all of his credit cards to be placed on hold for security reasons. He called Walmart several times to try and complete the purchase and resolve the problem. He ended up having to call each in every bank and credit card to lift the hold so that he could use his card to make the purchase of the TV he wanted with another business. So Walmart you have lost 2 customers and screwed yourself out of hundreds of dollars. I will be going back to Walmart to get my money refunded from the gift card and that will be the last of my shopping at Walmart. read more

Went to this Walmart's customer service last night to exchange or possibly repair a bike with a minor issue, i was told that their assemblers are gone for the day and the shift manager told me that i should call back the next day and make sure that they are in before i make another trip. when i called today, the operator wouldn't listen and keep telling me what to do, i tried to tell her that i already have done what she is suggesting and want to know if the assemblers are in, she then hang the phone on me. i called back and asked for her name she wouldn't give it to me and hang up again. I called the 3rd time she said "Listen" I said to her you hang the phone on me twice and tell me to "LISTEN"? she then hang up the phone again and stopped answering the phone... I am going to that Walmart right now and will speak to the Store manager, and not only return the bike but will shop at that Walmart again. Update: Went to the store, and Wanted to return the bike, spoke to Chris, the supervisor in charge, he apologized and said he will look into the matter, and had one of the assemblers look at the bike and had him fix it., and gave me a10% discount for troubles. read more

I continue to be disappointed and usually end up angry every time I go to WalMart in Escondido. There is never anyone around to help you; especially in the jewelry department. The other day I was there and spent 30 minutes trying to find the match to a shoe on display. No one would help even though I asked for help several times. It's a Walmart so I know what to expect going into any of their locations. Bitter employees who don't care about their jobs and for the most part but not always not helpful but that doesn't stop me from going. I usually go in at night time when there's less of the weirdo customer base that walmart is infamous for and they usually have everything I need in stock almost every time and their prices are dirt cheap on all national brand products and even cheaper on their Great Value store brands if they have one in place of the national brand. Their 35 pack Great Value Purified Water Drinking Water is dirt cheap at 3.33 and an amazing value/deal. Good quality and 11 bottles more per case than what u would get at a drugstore.
