When they decided to switch to mostly self-checkout , obviously the consulting firm they hired did not do a good job looking at the demographics of a Wal-Mart Supercenter shopper. There are a lot of senior citizens, non-native English speakers, and because it is a "Supercenter" with groceries, there are a lot of customers buying large carts full of groceries. Bad planning. Don't go unless you want to use self-checkout or you have plenty of time to wait in line. read more

I was having an issue with a price match and my concerns were not addressed or solved. All I got was "I am the manager." Along with major ugly attitude. I went there (albeit reluctantly) because their website said they had an item in stock that I didn't see anywhere else online in the immediate area. Come to find out, they did not actually have this item in stock. Decided to pick up a few things anyway since I was already there. Here was my experience today in Bloomingdale; caught an attitude in the deli, a lot of empty shelves, stock people and their carts blocking the aisles, shoppers arguing in the check out lane (older woman cursing out some dude for whatever reason), waited at least 15-20 minutes for the couple ahead of me, checked out and got my bags (15 total items)....only to notice that the cold cuts from the deli were missing once I got home. Their guacamole is disgusting, and I'll be straight up throwing that out. So, I'm out about 12-13 bucks, going through all that hassle for a store that didn't even have what they said they did. This is the Walmart I go to in desperation (or laziness) because it's 5 minutes closer to me than the one in St Charles. This place is always extremely busy, I hate that, but I guess that means they're getting business. I never get a "clean" feeling when I walk in either. The latest thing is receipt checking. It's bad enough that I've spent 30 minutes in a check out line, only to be stopped again by a line trying to get out the door. Wow! Much improved. Last time I was here the place was a dump. They remodeled, added Subway, a salon, an eyeglass area, groceries, it doesn't even look anywhere near the same place. I recall get stampeded and ending up with a broken ankle on Black Friday a few years back, it was that nuts. My first experience at this location a few weeks ago was average. There were lots of boxes laying around everywhere, like stockers half did their jobs. The customer service at the Bloomingdale, IL, store is the pits. I tried to check on the pickup of an online Walmart purchase and called 15 times!! Fifteen times. I let it ring some of those calls more than 25 times and still I have not gotten through. I got desperate and called a different number for the pharmacy. They answered and said they'd transfer me. They tried. Still no one answered. After half an hour of hassling this, I've given up. Why the largest retailer in the world cannot find a way to answer their phone is beyond me. This is a 0 (zero) star review. Haven't been a fan of Walmart for a while do to very poor customer service but this one deserves a Yelp review. Showed up on Friday to pick up some gun ammunition, we arrive at the sporting goods to find several people waiting for the locked ammunition cabinet to be open and are stating that the key is lost per Walmart employees, it is 5:45 or so and people claim to be waiting already for 30 minutes!!! After 10 or so minutes I walk around and see one of the associates, I ask for help and she flags someone who says key is lost, another employee more familiar with the section claims that she can't locate the key, employees are wondering around and God only knows what protocol they are following in a case like this, it is pure CHAOS and just stupidity. At 6:05 I locate an employee who was "looking" into this and ask him for an update, he has none so I ask for a manager, he calls someone but no one shows up. At 6:15 I see another Walmart associate that for last hour is stating the key is lost and attempts to have you believe issue is being looked into but nothing is being done besides pacing back and forth. I ask for a manager, she tells me that she will call somebody, I don't want somebody but a manager, finally some guy shows up and tells her that the ammunition key is in the vault!!! WOW, not sure where they have been looking for it and why it took so damn long but from a customer perspective I am having a hard time picturing worst service. This is 0 star review, Walmart you are terrible, go AWAY and take your failure with you! P.S. Shelves are mislabeled. Racks with two identical items have mislabeled sales tags. The fish wall has many diseased or dead fish. Fiddler crabs who need land and water are completely submersed with no access to land which a guarantee for death. Employees never know where anything is. The only plus side is the customer service desk as I have returned many things without issue and complained about prices at checkout versus what the shelf said without argument. Certain areas of the store aren't stocked well, with nearly empty shelves, such as the fish food, medication etc. There's just a lack of general care. read more

I usually don't shop at Walmart as I refer to shop at Target. Why people choose to shop here if they can find suitable items at Target or Meijer is beyond me, oh wait people are cheapskates to save .30. There are some nice things about this location as compared to other non super center Walmart. The first thing I noticed that this Walmart offered were spacious aisles to shop, maybe to accommodate those 400 lb people you see on the people of. Walmart? The one thing Walmart offers over Target is 2-3 times the amount of goods, usually of low quality and thus the reason Target doesn't carry them. While I was here I noticed several people asking associates for help and the employees didn't even look up when giving their response, very rude and typical of this company. When it came time to check out I went to the self check out to avoid the snail paced cashiers. I bought heat for my car and it required an over ride, totally understandable. But when it came time for the code to let me continue there was no employee around and i had to wait 10 minutes!! When the crabby old hag finally came over she was rude and unfriendly. omg! my mom and i were so pissed off this past saturday cuz we used the self-service station. one of our coupons didnt go through so the worker came over to help us. after doin whatever she did she needed a manager to approve it. they couldnt figure out the problem and were even arguing with each other! the machine didnt give us our change back for our purchase so we couldnt just leave. so the original lady who was helping us had to ring up all of our items all over again!! it was very time consuming and my mom is NOT a patient person. eventually we finally got outta there with all of our products paid for. read more

This is a review towards the vision center. Please do not go there for any type of contacts or eyeglasses. They are expensive first off. Then they give you a hard time if you want to change your contact brands. I didn't like the cheap equate contacts the doctor gave me because it was uncomfortable. She gave me a hard time wanting to switch to a different brand. I just don't understand what's the problem with me getting a different brand. Then they want to charge me for talking to the doctor to switch brands. I don't need a new prescription I just got the exam done within the last 3 months. All I want is to switch to a different brand why do I have to pay to talk to a doctor for that. Never again will we use walmart vision center. read more

Just ran in there because the other Walmart told us they had 12 pop up campers. Well they didn't have any when we walked in, so we asked a worker. He tried looking but the assistant manager as well as the department manager jumped in to help too. They thought maybe they were still in back in boxes not unloaded. After waiting And a few other workers Checking in on us, the asst manager came back and found one still in the boxes. He went above and beyond and took his time to help. As we were walking to check out the department manager also came up to us to make sure we got one and that everything was ok. But even without the toy we were satisfied with the friendliness of each employee, the hard work and showing they would go above and beyond to help a frantic Christmas shopper. I went Walmart one day, and I saw a advertisement price in the store for a futon that was $13. I asked some employees for some assistance in that area, they just looked at the price and walked away laughing, then I asked another employee and she called the shift manager, Matt, who to override the price. He hesitated to do that, and said "I can't do that, I have to check the security cameras to make sure kids didn't mess with the price", he also said if we have a problem call the Walmart marketing manager, Tino. So Matt went to go check the cameras but never came back, I called and left a message but Tino never called back.
