The cashier did not know how to print a gift receipt when asked but pretended it was the registers fault. The manager comes to help and never introduced himself or said sorry for the inconvenience. He couldn't fix without voiding the entire transaction. I didn't have the extra time, so I asked for a second print out. The person by the door puts his hand out without speaking to me. Checked myself out, paid very overpriced amounts for household staples, checking machine malfunctioned multiple times, lady said i was legit and good to go. Wasted a lot of time, then got harassed for a receipt at the door, I said no thanks.. they said ok we'll call the cops, I laugh.. and some kid follows me to my car and takes pictures.. wow. He's gonna catch the wrong person on the wrong day and he'll be lucky if he can wonder why.. over nothing. Harassed. Again and again here. This was more than usual. Soooo sad how several of the staff members are so disrespectful to customers. On my most recent visit, somehow a bag was overlooked at the register when I asked the cashier if I had all my items. When I loaded the car, I realized I was missing some things. I returned into the store & encountered Malia (not sure if I'm spelling that correctly). I explained the situation & she put it on me to solve the problem. She told me to go back through the store & locate the missing items. I explained that these were clearance items & I had the last ones on the shelf. At this point she instructed me to go to customer service. I asked her if she (or another employee) could assist me as I am disabled & would appreciate the help. At this point... she ROLLED HER EYES, SHOOK HER HEAD & SNICKERED AT ME!!! I was in complete shock! A Walmart employee finding humor in the fact that I'm disabled & asking for assistance in locating my items. She refused to help me at which point I asked to see a manager to which she ROLLED HER EYES & laughed again. Fortunately the front manager (Damien) happened to be passing by & intervened. As I was explaining what happened, Malia continued to roll her eyes & expresses a snarky grin as I mentioned my disability again. Damien went over to the register I had checked out at & looked underneath, low & behold...my items were there. At that point, with such a simple solution, it became sooooo obvious that Malia simply didn't want to assist in any way, she just wanted me to solve my own problem. She couldn't be bothered to go check behind the register herself. No, being lazy, rude & unhelpful is bad enough in a retail environment, but....Malia finding it funny what I explained my disability is insensitive & simply heartless. On a side note, for those of us that are disabled, be super cautious if shopping in this store. The employees that are pushing those large carts collecting items for online orders (I believe that's what they're doing) are on a mission & have no regard for customers around them. I have had several close calls almost being knocked over by those carts. & forget ever getting to speak with a member of store management. They are very protected & don't seem to have any interest in having any contact with customers. I guess they're too important to be bothered with us insignificant customers. read more

This is the cleanest Walmart I've been in.  I'm comparing that to:  Aurora, Oswego, Darien, Streamwood, Bloomingdale, Lake Zurich, Elk Grove...wow, I've been in a LOT of Walmarts. This is a super Walmart.  I stop here almost every day to pick up something.  The meat and produce departments are somewhat lacking. This Walmart is always restocking and has great sales. I go almost everyday so it's basically a second home to me. Buying groceries at Walmart saves a lot of money. It doesn't have the premium bakery products that I get at Mariano's, and they were out of stock on my #1 need (distilled water) but they offer an amazing variety of items. I had to do self checkout, which was easy to do although at my age I prefer using a cashier, but the inconvenience was minor. Their store brands and generics are fine, but the name brands are usually available as well. So what the store lacks in ambiance is more than compensated for by the prices and selection. read more

My experience here at Walmart is beyond my expectations! I am really amazed and impressed with the customer service. I love shopping here because I always got and purchase all the things I was looking for and needed for our house. Walmart is always fully stocked. They even have some imported items and goods that you can't find easily in any stores nearby. Their employees here are very kind, friendly, helpful, and well-trained. They all know how to treat and serve their customers so well. They even guide customers all over the place. Their employees are the nicest employees I have ever met! They can do their job properly and they are so attentive. Outstanding customer service! Easier to find things because of the help of their great employees. I remember why I always avoid Walmart & I will never understand why they literally have only 3 lines open (not including self checkout). Usually when I go in the early afternoon it's because I'm filling up my pantry. Along with everyone else. Walmart is filled with customers that are constantly price checking and not happy that their product rang up 50 cents more than what they thought. WHY are there only 3 lanes open????! It shouldn't take me 20 minutes to reach the conveyer belt, with only 2 people ahead of me. And NO I don't want to do self checkout. The machine is so touchy and I can't even fit all my bags on the bagging area. Every time by the time I checkout my frozen food items are pretty much completely thawed. I ordered a Custom Cake online to be picked up at this store. I woke up the next morning to find an email stating that they canceled my order. Nobody called me to ask if I needed a different type of cake or substitution, which they claim in the Help section on their website that they will do if it is out of stock. I tried to call the store and not a single person answered that phone. It sat ringing for over 10 minutes. I called the mainline and the Bakery Department. Nobody picked up! Meanwhile, I contacted an Online Agent to find out what was going on with the order and why it was canceled, she told me she would connect me to someone in the Store Department to get me a callback. Well, I did get a callback, but it was not from someone in the Store Department, it was just another Customer Service Agent. He was able to tell me what happened to the order though. He said that the cake I ordered was out of stock and that's why it was canceled. Okay, someone could have told me that over a phone call without canceling my order, so maybe I could pick something else!? If the product is out of stock, why is it listed on the website being available at your location? The Agent over the phone told me that even though the order was canceled, I was still charged and it would take 3-5 business days to get my refund. You guys are so quick to take my money but not give it back when it wasn't even my fault! Walmart should be ashamed of itself! The lack of customer service, competence, and intelligence is just appalling! If you plan on ordering a cake from Walmart, don't! Bypass Walmart Custom Cake ordering and go to Jewel, I called them and they were able to get my cake made with less than 24 hours notice. How awesome is that?! Walmart, get it together! read more

She called another employee to "explain" to me why I was not able to do my return and she raised her voice at me and she even wanted to get a translator because apparently, I didn't understand. Even a Hispanic lady (worker) next to them told them " She doesn't need a translator she just wants you to explain to her why she can't do her return here when the email she received estates that she has to bring the item to the store to do a return. I have come to the conclusion that Wal Mart is the retail version of one of Harry Potter's feared Dementors. When you walk in the door, all the hope, goodness, and cheer you have is sucked right out of you. After the recent conversion to a Wal Mart Super center, I decided to save a few bucks and do my weekly grocery shopping here. Not a good choice by any means. Yes you will save, but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle. For the most part, I was a night time shopper. The store was filled with nearly 50 employees, but only on person on a register. You get more that one person in line with more than five items, expect to wait almost 45 minutes in line. Not what I really want to do after a particularly long night at work. On one particular visit, we had a rather disgusting encounter with an item on the floor. I am hoping beyond hope, that it was really just a wayward breakfast sausage link. But after further review with my husband, neither of us wanted to get too close, for it more than anything resembled a bit of human feces. Even the employees were avoiding that particular area. I am awarding this place two stars only because it's the only place in the area open 24 hours, and if I desperately need something in a pinch, it's only a few minutes away. I wanted to buy one of their clones but it was behind a protective glass. I couldn't find anyone at first so I asked the front guy if he can call someone over. Easily the worst Walmart I've been to in my life. If I had the option to give it zero stars I would. I have been here at least a dozen times, all of which I've left annoyed and frustrated. This time it was enough to sit in my vehicle and write this very review. It's conveniently located which is the only thing it's got going for it, however the check out process never ceases to be an absolute nightmare. The fast lanes, as far as I can tell are about as useful as a solar powered flashlight--I've never seen them used. The lines are always long and the cashiers are slow as molasses. My home Walmart (Algonquin) was able to do a receipt lookup for me and I was able to get a refund for the items I did not want. This Walmart on the other hand never answers the phone. I took the liberty to drive 54 minutes over here, after calling since 10am.. It is. Ow 1:40pm and I was transferred to the vision center and all kinds of other departments.. They have no authority unless you go on a day when the manager is working! Don't get me wrong, the employee listened to me and tried her best, but she was unable to help, due to their policy. I thought all Walmarts were the same but apparently they are not. It's the way they are ran as an individual store. I don't blame the employee, she was only doing her job. If I want a refund, I will have to make another hour-long trip, not to mention the hour back. A total of 4 hours, if I return another day. The refund will cover my gas expense. This place is hit or miss. Living near by I'm able to grab something quickly but overall, 85% of the time, they are out of key items. The staff isn't as friendly either. My daughter slipped and fell in their store and the store manager didn't really seemed like she cared!!! I filled out an incident report and well at the end of the day Walmart didn't apologize nor did they pay for any damages! Aside from my personal issue with Walmart, it's nice to order online and pick up in the store. This is about a cashier, Jolly in Walmart 200 Bolingbrook Dr in Bolingbrook ,IL.. That time there was a long line and we requested if they could call Marta, the Mgr for cashiers so as to open another line if possible what she did she ignored us totally and when we asked for the 2nd time she said in a very condescending and rude tone and replied she doesn't know if Marta is here. She could have said it in a very nice way but to talk to customers that way is very incoherent and very uncalled for. All we were asking is to ask Marta if there would be another cashier open since the line is very long and no other cashiers open . She did not meet the customer service guarantee of Walmart and to talk like that to customers is very unprofessional. We are buying customers and we were very nice asking her very politely. And we even asked her assistant she was training if she could ask for Marta both never replied. Is this how employees treat paying customers? She needs more training how to deal with the public not to yell and ignore us like we are dirt . Walmart should train your frontline rd very well even the end of the line employees. My husband isn't very fond of this Walmart but it's the closest to the house. I personally don't mind it at all. The only downside is they don't always have everything we're looking for so a minimal selection and occasionally the service isn't the best. However the last few times we've gone they have proved my husband wrong and had exactly what we needed. Plus it is in a plaza right by some great amenities. Yeah, it's a Wal-Mart, but it's a better Wal-Mart than most, now that the renovations are complete. This new expanded Super-Wal-Mart has fresh groceries and a wide selection of products. I thought I'd try a week of grocery shopping here, rather than going to two or more fresh stores, just to give them a fair shot. I was actually impressed by the produce department, deli, and bakery. I wish they had a better selection of vegetables, but overall the experience was good. I would NEVER buy meat here. They only have name-brand, and it's all double or TRIPLE what I'd pay at a fresh store. $8 per pound for 93% lean ground beef? $10 for chicken breasts? I'll pass. I would also skip dairy. Not a huge selection there, either. Looking for 2% shredded cheese? What about different blends of cheeses? Favorite flavors of yogurt? Heck, Diet Dr. Pepper cherry? Not here. The frozen and dry goods are something to boast about. My wife loves Ragu pasta sauce on nights where we don't have enough time to make homemade marinara. Everywhere else, you pay about $2.50 to $3.00 per jar. Here, it's $1.76. You can find everything, name brand or "Great Value" brand, for less than you would anywhere else. The only convenience of shopping here is if you remember you're in need of an ingredient for dinner while you're already shopping there for something else. Do not get your prescriptions filled here! The pharmacist is a complete asshole! I was two minutes past the closing time. They took the woman who was in front of me but refused to give me my medication which i must take daily for rheumatoid arthritis. I will now be in terrible pain and even though I explained this to the technicians and the pharmacists they could not be bothered for 5 more minutes to help a customer. Unbelievable! Tried to return an item and her name was Lasomething wearing a head scarf(not for religious reasons) her demeanour and attitude was as though customer service should not be in her thought process. I only go to this Walmart because it's conveniently near my house, but I hate it so much. The store is full of depressing-looking, unhelpful employees and the check out process is 100% of the time a nightmare. Every time I go there, I have to mentally prepare myself to be inside for up to half an hour longer than I should have to be. They never have enough lanes open and the cashiers are painfully slow and apparently don't give a care when checkout is backed up. I almost always use their self checkout because I'd rather deal with those machines than an actual Walmart employee but, surprise, self-checkout lanes are always broken. I used to work in retail. I was a cashier, matter of fact. There is no way backed up lanes like at Walmart would be acceptable at any of the retailers I've worked for. I'm going to keep this short as I've wasted so much time here on several occasions that my patience is shot. Yes, its a Walmart so I'm not expecting the level of customer service of an upscale place such as Whole Foods. I appreciate you can get a good deal and the renovation is okay. However, tonight is the last time I'm going there even though its location is convenient. After walking around picking everything out I needed, I approached the checkout line. Let me rephrase that.... the "LONG" checkout line. Many stores have longish lines that move pretty quickly, and if there are too many people in line, they open another counter immediately and cheerfully ask for the next person in line to step forward. Not here! There is systematically only one line open and there can be 6-10 people waiting and they NEVER open a new lane. To add to the aggravation there are employees just standing around clueless or lazy, not sure which but I suspect both. This is just unacceptable! This is the second time I have just left my things that I spent time picking out only to leave and have to go another store and gladly pay more for the items so I can actually get out of the store and get on with my day. I'm not the only one who has done this. There was a pile of things on the next lane of people who finally, as I did, just gave up and left. You can see there is not even the appearance of an attempt, however feeble, at customer service once the lucky contestant finally arrives at the cashier to apologize for the wait!!!! They even have self-checkout lanes, but even those are not open, come on people!! This coming from a store that hires a person to greet you when you enter, but cannot open more than one of the countless checkout lanes they have. It makes no sense at all. What makes even less sense is the hapless security guard witnessing the incompetence of the cashier situation. I actually feel sorry for him because I would never have the patience to watch this scene over and over, customers rolling their eyes and huffing and puffing. For me, its the third or fourth time that I have been stuck in line like this hoping that after waiting over 20-25 minutes, maybe it would pick up as I know if I leave, I will have to spend more time, but this was limit! How can the manager of this store watch many people walking out and not do anything about it?! They're losing money and really angering people. The security guard is more likely going to have to stop a fight rising out of short tempered patrons than catching a thief. I drive a 18 wheeler over the road, I ran out of my Bp & cholesterol meds a few days ago. Had my doctor call in a prescription to a pharmacy, and then couldn't find any pharmacy that had 18 wheeler parking. So i had my doc change my prescription to Wal-mart, because I can find them everywhere. Stopped in Bolingbrook, Ill for my delivery, then parked my truck at the truck stop and called a cab to take me to the Bolingbrook store !! I want to tell Wal-mart that The Pharmacist and Tom the assistant figured out how to get my prescription transferred from Michigan to here. The were VERY helpful VERY friendly and understood my dilemma and helped me get my meds in a timely matter. Then i walked the store and found VERY friendly personnel re-stocking the shelves, some isles are empty of workers, so you just have to walk a bit to find some one to help you. Everyone in that store was in a good mood and acted very friendly and proffessional. I believe that some of the "bad" reviews actually happened BUT I also believe that if you go in with a bad attitude, that's all you are gonna find.
