slowest cashier I have ever seen (Joe) - short guy with a bad attitude, he wasn't very nice at all - if you aren't making a day trip out of your visit stay out of his line. Bathrooms are filthy. Several tamale vendors in the parking lot - be careful which one you choose - got food poisioning from one a couple of weeks ago. Okay, this review is specifically for the McDonalds located inside this walmart. I ordered two big Mac for five the other day and got diarrhea after 15 minutes from intake. Dont go here. If the employees appear unmotivated and don't want to be there then imagine what their motivation is for handling a "annoying" customers food? I dont trust eating out anymore. This palace is something... First of all online it looks like it is open 24/7, but be aware it's just the tire sales department. They are incredibly blessed to have a man named Andy working there because if it wasn't for his excellent service and care they would have to close down the shop. They have a you g woman working there who is one of, if not THE rudest person I ever met. She immediately started yelling at me as I drove up, not minding I had young children in the car that had to observe her terrifying behavior. I've shopped at many Walmart stores over the past 20 years all over the country and they have all been good. This particular Walmart is by far the worst and way below the company standards. 1. Store dirty and unclean 2. Staff very slow and unresponsive to customer needs 3. understaffed severely 4. Grocery area unaceptable - packaged cheese old/wet on inside unfit to eat. Vegeatables old and need to be throw out. I also had problems with the ground beef and deli meats I bought from there. This place is horrible I will never go there ever again. Furthermore I would warn people not to buy any food from this store and there is danger of getting food poisoning due to poor sanitation and bad food handling practices. Great location, large store, clean, grocery shopping is good here. Staff for the most part is helpful IF you can find someone. A loss of star due to the fact that many employees do not speak English ... or say they dont. (Not slamming Spanish speakers). When I go into a store in California and need assistance I think it would be helpful to have a person who speaks the language; I don't quite understand why Walmart is having non English speakers work the floor. These people have the worst customer service. Returns and exchanges is always so messy and the employees are very unprofessional. They are sooo slow and act as if no one is in line when there is literally 10+ people waiting in line. The few times I have gone to return something it never fails.... MARISSA is there and always has a bad attitude. You need to talk to a supervisor? Don't bother... They clearly don't care what you have to say. Wow I could actually said it was a terrible experience so I bought this electronic 4x4 truck for my son birthday so I spend total 610.00 when I got home the battery was not charging so I decided to exchange it since I didn't had the receipt. When I arrived to Walmart I went to customer service which the manager Ed was telling me that with no receipt he wasn't going to let me exchange it no store credit no return it nothing. He just ask me for my name and number and that they were going to get back to me in a few days. Also the governor is saying how important is to have social distancing well Ed wasn't keeping his distance he got really close to my face that I had to remind him about the 6 feet distance. We have to be precautions about all this with COVID19.Which I was surprise this has never had happen to me anywhere. Ed didn't try to help me at all. I came home and call cooperate office they were so helpful and they send me a copy of my receipt so I was able to go back and now this time I wanted my money back since now I didn't like way they treated me or talk to me it was horrible I will never go back and buy anything definitely I will keep going to Target. The only employee that was really helpful at Walmart was this employee named Eden he was so respectful and he tried to help me even tried to find my receipt on the computer. He tried and I appreciate it so much Walmart is lucky to have this employee and hopefully he could be a example for Ed. Ed should learn from his employee. The worst weekend/holiday experience of my life. I went to walmart against my better judgment after dinner for their doorbusters, Yeah on thanksgiving. I went there for a few items that I have been planning on getting since their ad came out. After finding a parking spot which only took 20 minutes I walked, crawled, jumped, slid, swung and swam through the crowds, eventually making it to the electronics department. After waiting in line for what seemed an eternity I finally made it to the counter. once at the counter I politely asked for the item, even pointing to it in their ad. The "associate" behind the counter rudely told me that they didn't get that item in that day and if I could please move out of the line. I was in disbelief and stood their for a second before I was swept away by the human wave. After about 20 minutes I finally made it back to the front of the store, where it was less crowded, the eye of the storm if you will. I went to the information counter where a nice woman was helping with various questions one might have about the stores black Friday ads. I had asked if I could get a rain check for the item they had advertised but did not get in stock. She politely told me that they were not giving out rain checks for any items. Now I don't know if my logic was messed up from the huge dinner I had atten just 2 hours prior, but shouldn't one get a rain check for an item that a store had been advertising all week for and had failed to #1 get it in stock and #2 fail to notify the mass of people looking to get the item that they did not have it in stock. Now yes I know what a great advertising ploy, they got me there at 6pm on Thanksgiving lol. :-/ After talking to both the assistant store manager and the store manager himself both of which told me no rainchecks! Everyone in the store looked like zombies. After that I went across the street to Best Buy. I was in and out in 15 minutes, my fault not theirs, I lingered to look around. I got the item I want, was helped by enthusiastic store employee's and got what I wanted at the same price advertised at Zombie Land . read more

I was visiting my family from out of town and needed an emergency prescription. My doctor called in the prescription 10 minutes before the pharmacy was scheduled to close. Ai was the pharmacist on duty and was amazing! She took the time to show me items from the shelf that would help with my back and also ensured that I got my prescription before the pharmacy closed. They were very busy and I was honestly shocked that Ai was able to get me my prescription in such a short amount of time. She was very friendly, helpful and patient and I observed her being this way with other customers as well. If I lived in Gilroy, I would use this pharmacy because of the great customer experience that I received from Ai. She is totally awesome! read more

Walmart live better, but struggle to do the shopping! Walmart, apparently doesn't care about the disabled. I have a very difficult time finding a working motorized shopping cart available. It doesn't matter what time of day or night I shop. They do however usually have 2 or 3 available out of order carts. I have complained to the Gilroy Walmart Store, and also Corporate office, about this problem. I only get empty promised and the run around. Big Business Walmart comes into communities and run the littler more personal stores out of business. That forces you to shop at there warehouse size store. I am disabled and can't walk around this hugh store, I know there are alot of others that feel the same way I do. This Walmart has at least 30 handicapped parking spaces, they only have these because of the laws that force them to. maybe we need to force them by law to provide available shopping carts for the handicapped. This place has the worst customer service possible, has anyone else tried to call? Not one person will pick up,and if they do no one will say anything you will just here backround stuff! ive spent 30 minutes trying to speak to someone over phone and it's impossible! I've called every department they literally couldn't care less. I tried to make a canvas that was supposed to be ready in 1 day. I wanted it ready for my girlfriends birthday. It was not ready after 3 days!! Why say same day pickup if it's not possible!!!! Finally I get email saying it's ready I go to pick it up and they made a poster not a canvas!! I asked for a manager the guy said he was gonna get one and never came back after 20 minutes. I literally had to go find someone else to help me!! Now I'm trying to call to see if there is any progress and it's impossible to talk to anyone over phone.the photo department is absolutely terrible and rude. I really can't stand this Walmart location but it's the closest Walmart location in my area. It has happened to me twice now where an item is stocked in the wrong spot and is not the actual price and then since customer service closes ridiculously early I have to make the inconvenient stop the next day to ask for a price adjustment. The first time I asked for one the associate told me and my husband "it's not our fault, you need to match the numbers with the numbers on the product" that was crazy to me !!!!!! As a customer it's not my responsibility to search for that! The second time this happened to me I didn't even bother. This Walmart is so disorganized ! And the people who work there are lazy and rude!! You would think since no one is on registers and everyone is stocking that there would be some organization and you would able to read the right price for the item you want. Don't even get me started on the registers! After 9pm the lines get so long it reminds me of Black Friday. I've also witnessed associates mocking their district manager (only concluding that because she was in different clothes) after she told them to get back to work. How unprofessional to do that in front of customers. Where is the management ?! Who runs this Walmart ?! Because from my understanding it looks like it's running itself and it shows from the disorganization, the filth, and the HORRIBLE customer service. I'm highly considering going to the other Walmart in Los Banos just so I don't have to go to this one. It's about 45 miles away from my home but at least I will be in a clean environment and get some decent customer service. I shop at the Gilroy Walmart often. Come on this is Dec and to have only 1 register open at 5:30 pm is unbelievable. There were at least 35 baskets in line that traveled to the bakery section. I came here on the weekend to buy my son a bike that I found on Walmart online. It was saying it was available at this store but when I got there I couldn't find it were the bikes are located. So I went and ask a Walmart associate with red hair if she can help me find it and all she told me was " whatever you see there is everything we got" she didn't even bother to check for me in the back or look up the item number for me. So I end up going to another guy who supposedly was a manager and all he told me was "I haven't see it here" and again didn't bother to look it up for me. Before I left I asked one more guy which turns out to be another manager his name DON he actually looked up the item number and told me he was going to check the garden center because they have a lot of bikes stored in there. When he came back he had the bike I wanted with him finally. If only the other associates would of helped me out like he did it would of been awesome too bad DON was the only one who takes their job seriously there. Was always told if I can't say something nice; say nothing at all. So, I guess I will say nothing at all..........Except...... The girl Stacia in the pharmacy is good, she kept me from exploding after another person in the pharmacy coded my husband's presciption with one wrong number so it couldn't get filled. We are miles from home and my husband went 3 days with no medication because no one took the time to find the "problem", The whole time I was told he had no refills which I knew wasn't true. Stacia got to the root of the problem and got our medicine. Since I have gone away from my "raising" I feel forced to continue. I am a quilter and have attempted to purchase fabric from this Wal Mart several times. There is seldom anyone in the fabric dept and when I have asked another employee to help me find someone they all but pretend they speak no English, or tell me the person is "off" today. And don't go in here if you plan to get out in a reasonable amount of time. There are regularly 2 checkers on the normal checkouts, MAYBE 2 on the "speedy" checkouts and the "check yourself out" lines are always backed up. I have been all over this country and have visited Wal Marts everywhere. Never have I been in one that is this poorly run and managed. There are helpful people in this store, they are just too few to EVER get me back in this store. I have changed phamacies and will drive farther and pay more for groceries from now on. I go to Walmart ALL THE TIME. Tonight Liz is in charge in the Front lanes. Well she has been rude to me more than once. But she was in the frozen foid section jabber jawing with 5 other team members. . When I drove by on my cart she said something and they all stared laughing their butts off. So b I get up to the front to check out and the line was 30 ppl deep. And growing. The customers were mad. So my friend went to tell her we needed her to come handle the situation and she said " I've been calling for cashiers and no one is going oing up". He told her thats a cop out you need to go fix it. 7 minutes later 3 cashiers came. But not her. She is a very poor excuse of a leader in that store. She is rude, condescending, and she talks about customers like a teenager to co workers. Cissy wouldnt put up with this. She is helpful and so considerate. ALWAYS and Jessica also. Horrible customer service. Bought chains for our vehicle for our trip up to the snow never used them never opened the box. Ames the night manager tries to tell me that you need a zip tye to return them... To me if they do not do there duty to package them correctly before going on to the sales floor then thats not my fault. How is the customer supposed to know? Before purchasing if you are not allowed to return the product you should automatically tell the customer that there is no guarantee in returning. Am i supposed to inspect all products from walmart and ask to make sure they do there job right? Didnt know i was supposed to do there job for them?? I hope the owner of this particular walmart hears me and listens to what i have to say. I am not a big walmart shopping fan in fact this is why i always go to target but this really dissatisfied me. I don't care about all the Wal-mart haters, this place is quite awesome. The restroom was a bit nasty 'cause apparently some people don't believe in flushing (Yes, the toilets are auto-flush, but manually press the button if it didn't get everything. Don't be lazy!), but I'd definitely take this Wal-mart over the ones closer to home. It's ginormous and can easily occupy hours of your time since there's so much to look at. Great after a drive to Sonic from San Jo.... you know, to walk off the calories and make the trip more worth it. Anyway, apart from the usual McDonald's, tire center, and optical office, the Supercenter has some kind of real estate(?) office, a whole isle (and it's long... that's what she said) dedicated to a-a-a-a alcohol, isles upon isles of frozen food, and a pretty legit looking bakery (where grocery store standards are concerned). The bakery had a pre-made Hello Kitty cake and Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookies, both of which you usually don't see at other grocery stores, so that was pretty neat. Definitely coming here whenever I'm in the area. read more

We came here to this Walmart on our way back up to San Mateo, and the husband really needed to use the restroom. Too bad when we went inside, they were cleaning it, but that gave me the opportunity to also walk around, and we even were able to stay there longer because of that! I am always amazed when I walk into any Walmart Supercenters with their grocery section, even though I don't buy groceries from there. It's still an amazing site. This store was large and nicely organized and it wasn't busy because it was 9 PM on a Sunday night. I went to the craft section, which is my favorite section of any Walmart and I liked what I saw. The selection of craft materials here is better than any other Walmarts I've been to, so I was happy with that. =) Oh yeah, unrelated to Walmart, when we were outside in the parking lot, we could smell the garlic scent...smelled so nice....Heeeee. read more

It's a superstore so huge selection - but some groceries like fruit, vege's and milk are expensive. They have extremely poor customer service. I've been to the site-to-store pick up counter several times - on all occasions had to wait over 30+ mins for someone to help me. I would recommend no one use their site-to-store service when purchasing at walmart.com...I think you will be better off paying for shipping it to your house. Also, I buy the Olay regenerist night renewal cream - which is kept locked in a cabinet with most of the other Olay products. I have to wait for lengthy periods of times for someone to assist me (I really feel like breaking the glass and taking it out myself!). How do they expect to sell the items if they keep them locked up with no one to open them??? So anyway the last time I was there (this past sunday), I waited over 30 mins for someone to come unlock the cabinet. She did not speak any english and was trying to tell me that I had to pay for it at the customer service counter (not at the regular cashier) and that I have to pay for my other items at the cashier - both areas had HUGE lines. I think it this was really absurd. I was extremely frustrated! I am just going to buy my Olay products elsewhere - will have to pay more, but it will save me a lot of tension and stress!
