This store is huge compared to ones I am accustomed to in the upper MidWest. It was moderately busy at 10 am. Prices for most items are comparable to other stores. Some are less expensive. Produces are a bit more than Korean and Chinese markets in the neighborhood. We were looking to buy a special gel eye drop. These were all locked up in cabinets. You had to push a button on a hanging box for assistance. We did that several times, 3-4 minutes apart but no one came. The pharmacy was near by but the assistant could not help. We had to hunt down a store assistant to open the cabinet. She placed the item in a small locked box that will only be opened by the cashier after you paid. A very elaborate scheme but very inconvenient. Baby formulae are also kept in locked cabinets. One noticeable thing while we were in the store. Every 5-10 minutes a loud alarm sounded. This was quite startling if you are not used to it! Overall quite an experience for us. read more

I went to this Walmart today and once again there were dogs on leashes in Walmart. Three different (non service) dogs being walked inside of Walmart. Some people are allergic to dogs. Some people are scared of dogs. Absolutely no reason to have dogs inside of Walmart. Our dogs have never been in a restaurant or a supermarket. The customer service has seen quite a downfall at this store which is a shame as this store like another Walmarts has great prices and so many everyday items, but the overall feel of this store is now of a very rundown dollar price store. Nearest Walmart close to my home. Its usually messy, the restrooms are never clean, out of toilet paper, paper towels, seat covers. Produce is ok. I've been to this Walmart many times during my lunch break and haven't had to wait too long to checkout - thanks to the self checkout line. Since this location is a Supercenter, it's more stocked than your average Walmart, which offers a wide selection of choices. I like that there's a grocery attached to this one, which allows me to check many items off my grocery list. I sometimes like to check out the clearance aisle, which they put off-season products marked down at super low prices. I once bought an advent calendar of dog treats for just $1, which was still good for another year. I like that the customer service line goes by pretty quickly. The manager who is on shift during lunch hour knows when to step in if the line becomes too long. Parking is very easy here since it's located in a big shopping area. read more

Went shopping for eyebrow pencils, eyedrops, and lactaid. For the first two items mentioned they are cased up behind acrylic sliding doors that must be unlocked by an associate. Waited about 6-10 minutes after hitting the 'assistance needed' buttons a few times. I also asked the closest associate who was fulfilling online orders nearby to personally help us, if not seek someone who is willing to offer help. She said she does not have a key, and that only one key is floating around on the floor assisting other people. I understood that, and proceeded to wait a bit longer. In the beauty section, there's a posting of the store manager, Marco Jimenez, with an excerpt encouraging customers to provide feedback through the phone number listed. I have this call a ring and no one picked up. In fact, the phone number isn't connected to anyone. At this point I've noticed other guests who were in need in the same area as I was. I decided that the best thing to do was to go to the customer service area near the entrance and ask for help. By the time I came back, the first associate whom I approached somehow managed to get keys and began unlocking products for myself and others. Thank goodness she stuck around with keys because so many products were locked up. The main issue I had with my experience was at checkout. In the pictures I've included below, there are substantially large differences between the prices of the products and what they rang up for. I had to ask the associate in the self check out station to kindly adjust the prices to what they were advertised. She did not ask for the exact price, and the differences are listed on the picture of the receipt. There was a bit of annoyance when I asked her to adjust the eyebrow pencils' prices after I had scanned all four of them, but regardless she still did it. This Walmart in the past has always been a consistent and safe place to shop. I feel that the consistency has gone downhill since the least year or two. So I have been to, maybe, a half dozen Walmarts in my life (including one in Canada). It just isn't high on the list of where I shop. But Walmart had a deal on a soundbar that was way cheaper than anywhere else, and it was in stock, and this is Irvine, so what could go wrong? Fist, let me get this out of the way, but the 'People of Walmart' seem to be a thing regardless of where you are. Maybe they are a bit extra elsewhere, but they are there regardless. As for the store, it was fine. Displays were everywhere and they had the soundbar I wanted, though it took a little while to find it. But it was priced $30 more than listed on Walmart's web site. The cashier at the electronics area could not get me the lower price, so I went up front. The girl who helped me was very nice, she barely glanced at my phone when I showed the price, and after quite a bit of wrestling with the registers, she was able to finally charge me the advertised price. She tried, but the POS system wasn't making it easy. Then, the dude who is supposed to remove the electronic anti-theft device had a hard time removing it. Eventually it was removed and I was on my way, maybe 15-30 minutes spent in the store longer than it should have been if it just wrung up at the right price. read more

I always love shopping here for essentials and of course items I wasn't planning on buying. I always find something in the clothing section usually and in the food section of course. I love it because of the fact that it's the store and grocery store all in one so it's a one-stop shop! The only thing that can be annoying and this was never how it was is the makeup section. You now have to press a button for help because the entire section is closed off with clear covering and only an employee can open it for you. Even fake lashes, they have it blocked off and they need to use a special magnet to open it. So if you aren't a patient person, then you can't ask for anything in this section. I love the food section because they have so many items that you want to try and are tempted to try because it's new. And even in the store overall, there's tons of items where you just want to look at everything and get everything. It is so reasonably priced here and that's why I like to come here. read more

Earky mornings (6-7am) at this location are frustrating, to say the least. No cashiers open. Only 15-20% of the self checkout stands are available. Security is mentioning that the self checkout has become a security issue. Let's just close them All and bring in cashiers. I have been shopping at this Walmart for 3 years now, but today I faced a really bad and discriminatory experience. The person who checks the receipt at the gate (His name was Jorge) disrespected me by sarcastically asking "did you get what you need or did you get more than what you need" while casually looking at my receipt. He did not even bother looking at all the items and comparing it with the receipt. I felt really angered as he almost treated me like a criminal. I have been a regular customer at this Walmart and have done countless self checkouts! Management should take this seriously and take disciplinary action against this employee named Jorge (he is a part of asset prevention who checks receipts at the gate). Cashier charged us twice for several item and then told us to go to customer service to get the refund - the line for that was endless. The screens at the cash register doesn't display an itemized list either so we couldn't keep track of what was being scanned or not until after you paid, which is why we didn't realize this was happening. worse customer service I've encountered. read more

Literally the WORST wall mart I have ever been to (including some I have been to in VERY small towns in Nebraska and Iowa). Every employee acts like they are understaffed jailers avoiding the inmates. tTe self checkouts seem to never be able to take cash and those working the register (only ever one open) where you have go with cash are WAY more interested in cheating with each other than getting people out of their line so it takes extra long on their constantly sticky floors. The first visits there I thought they were maybe under construction but I have been back several times (unfortunately) over the next few months and has been pretty consistent. read more

They never publish this information so after you fill your cart, they tell you at the register they only take cards or debit. The bathroom here hasn't been cleaned in days. Trash was all over the floor. The shelves had not been restocked in what appeared to be days also.
