I am not happy, I see commercials from Walmart stating "unlimited Talk, Text, Data", for the Straight Talk service. Not true, A couple of weeks before the end of service card, the data slowed to a stand still, then I bought a 3 month card, and the data is slow, not fast, not 4G, it's like an old computer, the pictures are fuzzy and you can't watch videos, I am upset, I paid 130 dollars for a 3 month card and now I have 3 months of slow data, thanks Walmart for being deceptive and not telling the truth on your commercials, your phone service sucks, that guy in the commercial should have thrown his Walmart phone and service in the water. read more

I like it alot...but i dont love it. I like the fact that you can find what you are looking for about 80% of the time, i don't like that there are barely any employees out on the floor to help guide you to a specific department for the specific item you are looking for. Regarding phone service: I called three times to ask if they had inflatable matresses. The first time, the woman sounded like she didn't know what that was, and put me on hold for seven minutes until the call dropped. I called again and asked the same question. She said, "I just spoke with you." I said, "The call dropped." She put me on hold again. After three minutes I hung up and called a third time, intending to ask in the same sentence how much air mattresses cost; this time she picked up demanding defensively, "Who is this?!" And she hung up before I could evem answer. This reminds me not to bring my business here. read more

I went to the Marina Walmart to buy some vegetable seeds and seed trays. Everything was stocked and I happily made my purchase. The following week, I went back to get more seed trays and was informed that they no longer stocked them! I proceeded to get some seed packets instead and went home. Upon returning the following week for more seed packets, the cashier infomed me that management discontinued selling seeds! What gives here? No more seeds or seed trays in the garden department? I thought this Walmart was classified a Superstore but the inventory is more like a MiniMart! I noticed this decrease of inventory in other departments as well. Tsk, tsk. read more

Well this Walmart deserves 5 stars as compared to others within 50 mi. The Marina store is clean, the people are efficient and helpful. And they are well stocked! The reason is, in my hunt for placemats at 4 walmarts, the Marina people not only made the effort to look up, walk back in the store and find 7 of them for me, but we're super nice about doing their job. All the other stores couldn't care less and told me to just order them online, 'click', and when I explained they weren't available to order and I needed to check the stores they weren't interested. A trip to the Super Walmart in Marina, ca. Made my day! Thanks to all the ladies that helped me find what I needed! A note to Walmart, you need to spend some time re-training some of your managers in the inland stores of the central coast and SF area. Use your Marina store as the model. Great store! read more

I have found this to be an unusually good walmart especially when you shop mornings. It's not crowded with homeless or Hispanics like our closest store. The Salinas store leaves most of the shelves half empty. There is a lot of space for parking and inside the store. A recent visit during a holiday period disappointed me, though because the TV dinners I buy here, the only store that has the ones I want, were out of stock. The clerks during vacation periods seem to be substitutes and lack professional respect for their work. But only two customers were in line and of course the ugly clerk was eager to wait on me. But I never see long lines because of automatic checkout, and it's best to use if nice looking folks are there too. I'm not poor like some reviewers scorn this store for, Walmart just has items I can't find at other grocery stores. But what a waste when it's out of stock again. read more

I work at a Walmart in Southern California and we aim to please the customer..I checked out, unloaded $10 and asked for it back in a roll of quarters because I need change to use the showers at my nearby camp site. Didn't get the roll of quarters so I assumed she didn't hear me. I thought no biggie, I'll just go to the Customer Service desk...was turned away: "We don't do that." Wow. I find it totally ridiculous that every walmart (in the same basic geographical area) has diferent pricing. I live in Salinas but work in Marina so I shop at both the Davis Rd location and Marina. Items may be $2.00 - $3.00 in price difference. I have NEVER know the same chain to price differently at the different locations. Not Target, not Safeway, not Savemart, not Nob Hill.... NONE!!!! I would understand if the stores were 50 miles apart but things should be priced the same in the same area. Also, one ore thing....OPEN MORE REGISTERS. Why in the world did you put in 16 registers if you are not going to staff them (that is what I am told anyways by front end supervisors)?? I called to find out if a jewelry box was in stock. It took over 15 rings for someone to even answer the phone. Clerk said they don't have a jewelry Dept. I asked if they carry the Jewelry boxes and she said no without checking. She just made it up. I'm sure she doesn't get paid anything and it shows. read more

Horrible as always. Spent almost an hour shopping, go to check out and am told they have no bags. You have to pay for the bags but doesn't even matter they ran out. Bags don't spoil, or have an expiration date, but they apparently can't stock enough. Must be super incompetent management. I went in to the Walmart in Marina to get a money order for which they sell them for 60 cents which fits my budget real well. At first there was a long line at customer service and then a customer service rep by the name of Andrea i think that was her name opened another registar in order to help the line go down. Since people like me do things on our lunch hours she was very helpful in helping get the line down. She has great customer service and was very pleasant to help me. Terrible service and Product distribution. I consistently find a food product either opened or past expiration date on the shelves. The cashiers seems as though they lack customer interaction and communication skills. They seem as though they simply do not want to be there themselves. Not a good customer experience. The store it self is ideally not organized and something is always blocking a section off. If it was not the only Walmart in the Monterey county area, I wouldn't go there period. read more

this is probably the worse Walmart I have ever been to...I can care less about walmart, but everytime I come to this place to look for things that I need that I seen online that said they were in the store. the associates never know where anything is and it is very frustrating. you are better off going into Target or the Walmart in Salinas. so one time i came here because I was looking for the Iphone Headphones, because most Walmarts do sell them. I even called in person and they said they had it, and then when I walked in they claimed they couldn't find it. Having moved here from Pennsylvania ten years ago, I have shopped here regularly and buy a wide variety of items from bakery to frozen foods to discount bin DVD's and toys to men's outerwear, also all my Medicare prescriptions and personal care items. I got both the first and second stage Shingrex vaccinations (long-lasting shingles prevention) from the Walmart Pharmacist after learning my primary care doc does not handle them. From what I've bought I can safely say Walmart prices are generally, depending on the item, either lowest price or tied, or so close to lowest that there is no reason to run around. The store and men's room are good-sized and kept clean, while outside there is plenty of well-lit parking. I've never had any complaint and employees have always been friendly and helpful. All said, this Walmart is amazingly similar in all respects to the one I shopped back in PA. Keep up the good work - I believe I get good value for my money!!! read more

Ive been to this walmart several times since it opened and underwent construction. I have usually always used my mothers card as I do most of the grocery shopping for her. Today I received the crappiest customer service ever. And it wasnt just today, the people they hire over there dont know how to treat their customers! Today I bought several items using my mothers American Express card, which I usually use. I got a cashier I have gotten often, her name is Shelia or something like that. Usually I can brush off her mumble of a greeting while she chats it up with some other employee while ringing me up, but today, it was different. She said she needed to do a signature comparision with my forged signature and the signature on the back of the card. Okay, no problem, but my mom writes "SEE ID" on the back of all of her cards, like a few other people. Keep in mind this is a cashier I have gone too more than once. I tell her I will go grab my ID from the car, and as I run to go get it, I realize I forgot my wallet. I come back and explain that I am sorry, I do not have my ID, but it is my mothers card and her picture is on the back (we look very similar, no doubt a resemblance). She doesnt even look at the card and mutters something about how I should be lucky she is allowing to ring it up without an ID or signature. She then hands me my receipt and spins the groceries to her, I guess thinkking I had already grabbed them. When she realizes I havent, she grabs them and gives them to me like shes doing me a huge favor. Not only that, but that deli counter IS A JOKE. numerous times I have sat there waiting for the employees (who appear to be doing nothing significant) to help me. And Im not talking about a few minutes here. Today I was the first to the deli counter, no one was around me. The lady asks me to wait, so I do. After about 5 minutes she starts cutting some cheese, and Im thinking "whos order is this? I didnt order this and no one else is around" so I continue to wait. When she is done cutting half a pound of cheese, she asks me for my order, which takes her about another 5 minutes to finish. By now, a line of about 3 people has formed behind me. This deli is incredibly slow. You do not see this at Savemart. After the whole ordeal, I was talking to my boyfriend about it, and he said the cashier had been very rude while I was out getting my card, sighing loudly and looking around telling the man behind me it might take me awhile. I RAN OUT OF THE STORE. Its not like I leisurely walked out. I know it sucks to wait for money when your a cashier, Im not trying to make your day suck. I told him if I ever got an interview there, no matter how desperate I was, I would not work with those people. He laughed and said he probably would because he knows he could slack off because the managers obviously dont expect much from their employees. I have had similiar issues with this walmart, but have never posted a review, as I am not one to usually complain about a business, but this lady just pissed me off. That is not the way you treat customers! Not to mention they never have enough check out stands open and they got rid of the self check out, which makes it mandatory to stand in a line no matter what. No one there ever seems to be happy except for some of the elderly door greeters. I will probably never go through those check out lines again if I HAVE to go there. Absolutely the worst from beginning to end... I was looking for an item online and thought it might be available at the store.. So I phoned in advance on Columbus Day.. 15 minutes the phone rang and nobody answered... I thought maybe they're closed... I call bed bath and beyond... And they told me Walmart is definitely open... So I called again... Another 15 minutes nobody ever answered the phone... I decided to take a chance and drove 18 miles to Walmart... Found out they did not have the item in the store... Took me 20 minutes to discover that... Finally found a manager and asked if he would help me find it online.. We started looking at the computer and then he says... Excuse me for a minute I'll be right back.. And went over to help another customer... After twiddling my thumbs for 10 minutes I walked out... I will never go back to that store again... From the manager on down to almost all of his employees... Live in a fog... It's like they are asleep with their eyes open read more

Ridiculous. Gina, is a customer service manager who really doesn't know how to manage. I waited in the "20 or less express lane" and she decides to close the register and opens another ""20 or less express lane"... (I was the next person in line) when she opened the other register stating next person in line--of "20 or less express lane"- I went in first but she then decides to pull another customer that had waited in other lane and had her cut in front of me... this customer was in the regular lane and had way more than 20 items. I'm like whatever. Then finally it's my turn--GINA decides to close the register on this one and she opens the one register that she had just closed... really GINA!!! Are we playing musical chairs here?! I only had 6 items on me! So I tell GINA that she made one customer cut in front of the first time- her response was "she waited longer than you"... GINA-- all registers in Walmart are categorized differently so the flow is better! GINA There's a reason why I went to the "20 or less items"- it's faster than those who bought MORE THAN 20 ITEMS! The customer service department at the Marina is scum. They are the absolute worst. I went in to return a Everstart car battery because my car battery was dead. The battery was a replacement from a return 3 months earlier. The second battery was dead and II only used it for 3 months. I had called the manufacturer of the battery, and he said there's a 5 year warranty, 1st 3 years full replacement, last 24 months is prorated, based on the time of the original purchase. I should have been able to buy a new battery for for $73. I talked to several people in customer service, showed them a copy of the Everstart battery warranty, suggested they look up the policy themselves, but no one would help me. I left very frustrated and angry. Even the assistant manager Rebecca, was rude and wouldn't look up the warranty. They acted like I made the warranty up. To be honest, this group of customer service people should all be fired. They don't listen to the customer, they don't look up store policies or warranties. I've never been so mad in my life! read more

I have been to many wal-marts, have even worked at one. This one needs work. My husband and I have been there about 10 times and all 10 times we leave disappointed. The isles are entirely too small for the amount of people who shop there. Most of the employees don't speak english very well. They don't stock the shelves quite as often as they should. ( We went to get a bottle for our son and found there were only pink ones. Went back a week later and the same bottles were there in the same spots and everything ) We ended up getting a pink bottle for our son and upon leaving asked the cashier who was next to a manager to see if their were any other colors and were told they didn't have any in stock. We ordered a crib and mattress online and it took about an hour to get help at the desk, then take it to the car. The customer service definately leaves something to be desired. The employees don't give a flying rats ass about the customers and never go out of their way to help one out. In fact we were walking in the store one evening and we happend to be walking toward the same door an employee was about to move some shopping carts in front of and we were apparently in the way. He gave us an annoyed look and huffed while he said "come on!" as if we were causing him a great inconvenience walking into the store. Unfortunately we don't know of any other wal-marts around and since we have been shopping at wal-mart for most of our household needs since childhood we will continue to shop there and most likey leave completely disatisfied. I Just hope the Manager of the store looks at these reviews and decides to take action. The employees at this store are ridiculous and I hope and pray someone actually does something about it. read more

Bought a 8 piece bed set as one last try at Wal Mart...it came with only 4 pieces....and I had to wait forever to return it. By the time I wanted to buy another, I was told I would have to take my CASH and go back to returns. Needless to say, I did not and took my money and got out and will never patronize Wal Mart again. That is about $2000 lost in revenue per year at least for these idiots. read more

After holding for way too long for a specific department, getting no answer, then being hung up on twice, I called for a third time and asked to speak to a manager. I was then put on hold for even longer and after waiting for almost 15 minutes I gave up. Apparently they make enough money that they don't actually have to care about customer service. I switched to the pharmacy at this Walmart about a year ago. In that short period I have had to deal with my meds not being in stock 3 times, forcing me to go without once for more than a week and twice for 3 days. The last time it happened they told me 3 days in a row that it will be "tomorrow". And that is what just happened to me on the phone just now. I hate having to switch to another pharmacy this soon but this is inexcusable especially for the type of meds I am on. And because they said it should be in tomorrow they can't do a partial fill. What the heck! We shop here every week, spending between $150 to $200. Tonight around 8:15 in the juice and chip isle the guy stocking was an ass. He has never been friendly , always acting as if he has the hardest job in the world. My husband , with the cart passes by him and he started to huff and puff. I walk right behind my husband and he through his arms up in the air, did a long sigh and stepped back like l was in his way. I was trying to get his name but was unsuccessful . He used to always wear super hero socks with a cape attach to them. What the heck. I don't know if he missed the customer service training or completely failed. Ok it was about three weeks before we saw the super sock man. Today he was stocking the shampoo department. He was such a nice guy. He was joking and acting as if he was really enjoying his job.
