This was my first visit to this particular Walmart. Of course that means I was immediately lost and had no idea how to find what I came to purchase. However, I was immediately greeted by a helpful courteous sales associate who assisted me by walking me to the very items I needed to purchase. The "New" Super Walmart in Saugus would be great if they had Managers that knew how to Manage! Ah, duh...its in your title. They degrade employees, write them up for offenses they didn't commit. Only time you see them is when they are on a mission to give their staff crap. Don't have any clue as to how to schedule employees. Maybe why you see 20 customers in line at each of the 4 out of 15 registers open on a busy Sunday night and the "self-checkout has approx. 30 irate customers waiting in line. Think they could hire a Manager that does something more than hide, eat, sit and chastise? read more

Still can't stand this place, tried to give this place yet another go. The building is colder than it is outside, horrible selection of produce and employees. Still nothing on shelves. Lynn seems like a better option than this s**t-hole All I heard while I was there from Managers was "we're so short staffed, it's going to be a long day, we need to work them harder". They still talk to their workers like stupid children, that's not how you treat your workers. NEVER coming here ever again if my life ever depended on it. read more

You won't find a cleaner, more calm (at least while I visited), more innovative Wally World around but I had a poor customer service experience. I want to fist say that I was not the victim here, but I know it could have been anyone. I went to the location to do a return, check out the new store and purchase a couple of items: I was so stoked to finally make it to Wal-Mart because they have everything and affordable prices! When I parked my car, great spot by the way, I noticed that the car next to me had the door open, no one was around and it was snowing. I quickly memorized the license plate and went to their customer service counter- you never know why the door was open so I didn't want to touch someone else's car but felt if it was a mistake the owner would want to know. At the service counter there was a line but also multiple employees standing around, managing I'm sure. I didn't get addressed although I had not joined the cue (1st bad sign) then when I addressed someone and explained the situation the woman told me she was technically on break and wasn't allowed to "work off the clock" (2nd bad sign). After another few minutes, I got a guy's attention from across the counter and he was on the phone talking to me and someone else (3rd bad sign), I asked multiple times about giving him the car info but he only wanted the color and location. It seemed he had spoken with someone who could help but when he hung up he only said, her response was "it's snowing out there". Fast forward, I finished my shopping and went back to the parking lot to find the car's door still open with a 1/4 inch of snow blown inside. I finally decided to shut the door but am still amazed at the "not my problem" attitude. I know we're in Boston, but come on; be kind and compassionate toward those who put money in your pocket at least. read more

I placed an internet order that they texted me was ready for pickup. I fought the RT1 traffic to pick it up to find out they misadvertised the item and would not make it right. Ok, I understand mistakes happen, But why didn't they text me and cancel my order so I didn't waste my time..They also charged my credit card for something I didn't pickup..Then told me it would take 5 days to credit..Never again...I'll use Amazon read more

I have no clue why I didn't make my initial purchase at a Target store even though the price was the same. But lesson learned, I will be shopping less at Walmart and more at Target from now on. I order an item on walmart.com at 10:50AM and decided to pick it up at a Walmart near me since it was available same day. The email said not to go to the store until I get a confirmation email, but at the same time the Walmart.com Order Tracker said my items will be ready at 1:52PM. I got to Walmart around 1:15PM and decided to shop around before picking up my items. At this time, I still haven't received a confirmation email yet. As I was walking, I see the items that I purchased on the shelves. I went to the pickup area around 1:50PM and called for an assistance. I waited for 10 minutes and no Walmart employee asked me "can I help you?" during that whole time. At the same time, there were 4 employees at Customer Service doing returns and looking at me. When I asked for help, one employee said she'll be there after she finish helping her current customer. After she finished help her current customer, she ignored me and took the next customer in line. Then I asked another person, who seems to be like a store supervisor, about picking up my items. He checked the machine and said the order is not ready so come back later or tomorrow. I showed him the email about the item being ready at 1:52PM and its past 2PM. Then he made some BS reason and said he'll go check on the item and walked away. So I waited another 10 minutes and he didn't come back. After that, I CANCELLED my order on the spot and left the store. I reordered the same item on target.com for the same price in my car to be picked up at a Target near me. Target didn't send me a promise time in their email. Target just said wait until we contact you for pickup. Driving home from Walmart, I received a text from Target saying my items are ready for pick up. This was less than 15 minutes after I place the order with them on my phone in the parking lot of Walmart. I was really surprise how fast Target processed the order unlike Walmart. For some reason this wasn't really a surprise to me because every time I walked into a Target I feel the employees are more competent and in a better mood then Walmart employees. read more

Apparently the management here can't figure out staffing. Shocked that they have employees loitering at registers but can't manage to send people to tend to the returns. Apparently brain cells aren't a requirement for employment. read more

I love this place! Such great prices, and easy to shop too!

I love this Walmart! It is my new go-to grocery store, which is never overly-crowded (I don't know about weekends, though, as I always shop on weekdays for that reason!). I can get fresh produce, dairy, frozen and grocery items at very good prices without the hassle of crowded traditional supermarkets. The bakery even does 3-tiered wedding cakes for $140, is anyone is planning a wedding out there! Amazing value and a peaceful, clean shopping experience. read more

I was excited when they opened. This Walmart has EVERYTHING except competent customer service. Not their fault probably, Walmart should train their employees a little better.... Great grocery selection, jewelry section. Most are Affordable items but a bit pricey on the food & grocery side. Having said that it is a good selection & the food items are fresh. This is one of the worst Walmarts I have been to. I went to the register and one of my items did not have a barcode on it so the cashier had me go find the same item that had a barcode on it INSTEAD OF CALLING FOR ASSISTANCE! This is just one small thing on my list of dislikes for this establishment. I will no longer be shopping here!!! read more

Worst store ever. Ordered a bike delivered to this store, but could not get it no matter how hard I tried. After waiting a week it arrived at the store, I called to request it be assembled. No easy task since they do not answer the phone in the pick up department. The man on the other end of the phone did not inspire confidence in me, but said call back to check in three days. This process went on twice. At nine days into requesting that they assemble the bike I finally got a commitment on Friday that it would be ready Monday. On Sunday I received an email stating that I waited too long to pick it up so it was sent back. Thinking the email was a mistake I went to the store, only to find out nope, not an email mistake they sent it back. The manager was zero help, just told me to look for a refund in 7-10 days. Seriously? In supposed to wait yet another week for a mistake made at the store level? The worst part is after I ordered the bike I realized Walmart in Danvers has it in stock. So when all is said and done my daughter will have gone a month in the fall without a bike for nothing. Terrible customer service. I will never return to this location read more

Horrible service. I waited a half hour in line to check out when there were only two people in front of me. The cashier had no clue what he was doing. I bought a keurig and it apparently came with a $20 gift card. The cashier tried to swipe the gift card in a couple times but couldn't get it to work... So he handed me my receipt as is if nothing was wrong. I said " where's the gift card" and he pointed to the receipt that said " log on and fill out survey for a chance to win $1000" I said no that's not it. So now I am waiting in the customer service line where is 5 people in front of me are at a stand still because one lady doesn't have a receipt and refuses to take the store credit. The cashier here is young and being bullied and can't just say " no & move along lady". Now a half hour later and it's my turn. I am supposed to turn in my receipt and they are supposed to give me a gift card... Of course the cashier says she has no idea how to do this. The 20 gift card takes about 10 min to get finally. Watching what she did the first cashier could have done it for me except he kept missing the step to scratch the back of the card so he could type in the numbers to validate the gift card. Anyway.... This Walmart is in an odd location. Not to mention its main floor is above he parking lot, which I find strange. I don't like the cart escalator that you load your belongings on when leaving. I feel people can steal your purchases and I don't think it's safe especially during sakes such as Black Friday. ISO came across many problems when shopping here. I was sold a vacuum cleaner instead of a steam cleaner. I was with the employee for 25 minutes and she swore that it was a steam cleaner. Luckily I was able to return it. I came across another problem. I bought turtle beach headphones and when I took them home the wire was split/torn. I feel as though they don't check previous returns and they throw things back on the sales floor. It was really a big inconvenience to have to go back multiple times. The store is okay but I think something's could be improved. Hopefully in the near future I will write a review with a better rating. The store has potential it's just not fully there yet. read more

After reading all the critical Reviews of this Walmart location, i was hesitant to go there. But i ordered a 2 drawer File cabinet to be picked up at the store, so it was a must go. I was more then pleasant surprised. Every Walmart employee i approached for assistance, was courteous, helpful, absolutely professional in manner. I approached 5 of them in different sections of the store. asking where products were located. The pickup crew were great, had my item in approx 5-6 minutes. Don`t know how any crew could have performed with more expediency. Store was packed, at the open registers some customers had overflowing item's in shopping carts. I mean crammed full, so time would have been considerable. But i noticed an employee opened another register and beckoned me to it. Then she opened another register, her eyes were on the lines and she was going about the business of store management. I got a glimpse of her employees Identification. she was a Store Manager. When she came by again i mentioned when you have time for a chat. She said sure, i told her about the online reviews and thanked her for her Store management skills. Trust me when i say myself, wife, and my Daughter will return to this Walmart's in Saugus again for a certainty. I do understand store operations and exceptional personnel, this Manager is superb.This review is coming from a person who was store manager, then Operational Manager of a major store chain in the 70s in Boston & Suffolk county, Then a Corp Director of Security for a 100+ chain around the country. Home Office base operations 5th Ave New York. I have been retired since 1994 and not seeking any employment opportunity's. Way to go Saugus Walmart's, you get my bucks when I'm in the buying mood.
