I always shop in store or online for the last few months on a weekly basis. Friendly staff at check out. Nicole helped me with a return for toys. She was very polite and professional. I really appreciate how swiftly she came to the front of the store because the other employee informed me she couldn't help me with the return since I didn't have the boxes it came in. Because she needed the upc even after I showed her my online receipt which provides the upc and a photo of the item. She told me to go hunt it down myself in the store which I didn't understand because I purchased the two items online and had not idea where they would be in store. Thankfully Nicole came to my rescue and provided amazing customer service. I really appreciate because I had my son with me who is globally delayed and that's why I mostly do online orders. He was becoming agitated after waiting. Now that I know the stores policy I will be saving all boxes to avoid that situation again. read more

TLDR at the bottom. 1) I went to the store yesterday because the app told me the Torrance location had the item I'm looking for in stock. I went, waited in the long line at the electronics, and when I let the young lady know what I wanted, she said there is none left in stock, and that was that. There was a long line so she went to help them out, but she didn't ask the back to check or bother to check the website. That was annoying. 2) I ordered online and of course, it's in stock. It was ready for curbside pickup. I arrived, parked, checked in, let the app know what space I was parked in, and waited. A few minutes later, I get an email saying pickup was successful. What pickup? I was in my car and no one came near me. I went into the store. So much for curbside pickup. 3) EMPLOYEE SEEMS NOT TO KNOW WHERE PICK UP IS. The employee at the exit tells me that if it's a large item, I have to drive to the BACK OF WALMART and pick it up there. I told him it's a small monitor, and he told me to go to electronics for that. So there are two different places for curbside pick, and they both don't involve curbside? 4) I waited in a smaller line to talk to the older employee at the electronics. He lets me know that it is probably in the area of sporting goods. Why. Are. There. So. Many. Places. To. Go. To. 5) Trying to pickup my item at the Sporting Goods area takes FOREVER. I waited 5 minutes before a gentleman came out and I had to look at him in the eyes before he asked if I had been helped. He was a good kid, but my god, the lack of available help is NOT ACCEPTABLE. 6) The app has an annoying glitch it seems. On an item, it'll say "Free pickup, today at (Name)". I click the name because I want a different location. It shows everyone at Walmart near me at the time has In-Store Pickup. I assumed this meant my item was there. When I arrived (Santa Fe Springs location), I was furious to see it wasn't. Apparently, the app just lets me know the store does in-store pickup on the previously mentioned page. WALMART, NO ONE CARES ABOUT THAT INFORMATION. All Walmart should have that option, I don't need the app to tell me that. What it should've told me was if the item is in stock or not. 7) As I typed this out on the desktop, I clicked on a different window and came back to this to finish up the review. IT RESET EVERYTHING. 8) Ofc when I try to send this feedback to the Walmart website, there's a technical issue. OF COURSE. TLDR: Curbside pickup is not curbside pickup. Okay, okay....... Truth be told, I am not a Wally World fan, mostly because of all the things you probably see posted. Now that we are post pandemic, EVERYTHING is locked up. Now, thee only reason I went in early this morning was because someone gifted me a $25 gift card & I needed a new universal remote. I walked straight to the electronic section, found the locked cabinet with the remotes and luckily was able to wave a young man down. I did ask him if there is a button to press, and he informed me "No" due to that section being closed off and small. Now........... I don't think it's necessary to go over all that likely goes wrong with this system. What I will say is, if you absolutely HAVE TO go here, go as early to opening as possible. Make sure you've done your morning meditation & prayers, drink your coffee or drink of choice ( No NO!!! No alcohol, I Don't wanna see y'all on the news) Go with your list and make sure to hit the closed off areas first, you know, make up, electronic etc. For all regular purchases self check out is the way to go. The young man in the electronic department was great. He did have a problem with the gift card & had to grab a supervisor. The supervisor did look extremely unfriendly & it was apparent. This is Tuesday, June 25, 2024 I am leaving Walmart located on Normandy and 190th I believe. I just witnessed the most disgusting thing that anyone should ever have to witness! Since Walmart allows dogs and I mean large dogs to come into their store it is absolutely unsanitary here. I just witnessed a big old dog, relieving himself on the floor in Walmart . And at the McDonald's store within the Walmart there is a big dog on a leash! Where will this end? We should not be forced to shop in an unsanitary store and for those of us who are allergic to animals it's almost impossible to shop in the store. Staff members shared with me that people put their dogs in the baskets also. I believe him because I've seen it happened at a smaller Walmart neighborhood market. Sign should be posted on the door that dogs are not allowed unless they have a license for a dog to accompany them. And this sign should be large, not small sign down in the corner of the door , I won't be coming back to this Walmart and I plan to contact the corporate office, not that it will do any good because nobody cares anymore. This used to serve as my stop for all things toiletry. I would park on the side of the parking lot opposite from the entrance. This is because I did not want any dings on my car once I came out. Also, people try to park as close to the entrance as possible, like a little exercise was going to kill them. If you're looking for a nice and classy shopping experience, this is not it. The crowd is so-so, and it can get packed often. The merchandise is ok, given the prices they are sold for. I've never bought anything other than toiletry items here, with which I never had an issue. But the overall shopping experience is not too great. I've since started using Amazon for all my miscellaneous shopping needs, as it is far more convenient. read more

I dont like to be treated like a criminal. I can tell when someone is watching me and being extra. I went here with my sister 1/18/24 @ 12 pm, and we went to the womens clothing section near the dressing rooms. We noticed a female worker (Asian, 60's) folding clothes in that area. My sis wanted to check out the clearance bins next to the dressing rooms. As my sis and I were looking, the female worker came and stood next to my sis but slightly in front of her off to the side. The distance was so close that she looked like she could touch her arm. The worker is folding or tidying up while facing us and keeping looking at my sis and I. That's not normal. I wish I had a pic of how close she was and how she was looking at us , standing directly next to us. I used to work in retail. I've never gotten that close and constantly stared at customers standing directly next to them like that, and didnt even greet us! If you're gonna stare and think I'm gonna steal, at least play it off and ask how we're doing today! I don't appreciate being treated like a freaking thief. I left the store with a feeling of frustration and helplessness because employees like her can get away with making a regular customer like us feel like crap. Walked over to the cosmetic isle to find out I needed to wait for someone to come and get me make removal wipes . Once the person came after 20 minutes the wipes didn't fit in the plastic alarm box . So he said he would walk us to the register and give the wipes to the cashier . Lines were ridiculously long and after seeing all the nonsense disrespectful PEOPLE and all the wait we had to do . We decided to leave our cart full with over $200 dollars worth of merchandise and head out to another Walmart! Thank goodness there is another Walmart in the Torrance area! I decided to stop here on my microwave search after going to another Walmart and Target. Target's inventory was worse than the first Walmart that I went to, if you can believe that! This Walmart is on the larger side, so I had high hopes that they would have what I needed. I was looking for a new microwave, since mine killed over Christmas day! I took a picture of the sample one at the other Walmart, so that I could match it up if I found it elsewhere. To my delight, when we found the microwaves, this Walmart had an entire row dedicated to them. We were in shock! Too bad we didn't come here first. We quickly located and matched up the one we were looking for. They had plenty of inventory and it was also the same price, thank goodness. On a side note, since this visit was after Christmas the return line and parking lot were ATROCIOUS!! And as usual, you see all kinds of fashion no-no's at Walmart. They certainly never disappoint! Right after we settled down at the hotel, I needed to grab a few shower and feminine products. Looked for the closest Walmart on my Yelp App and this was it. It's like any other Walmart out there as far as building design. I appreciate that they have a bunch of self check out machines. The coin slot is awesome. You can throw a bunch of your coins in at one time versus having to put one coin in at a time. I often have bags of coins I need to use and so I'm definitely a fan of the new and improved machines. I like that the Walmart's in Cali have are wider variety of snacks and drinks when compared to some of the other Walmart's I've been to in other states. All in all, we got in and out quickly with everything we needed. read more

Having been born and raised in Los Angeles, Wal-mart has always been a mystery to me. As there is no Wal-Mart that is close to my house, my first experience there was when I was in college. All these items for sale, the bright lights, everything in one store! It was a fascinating experience for me. Ever since then, I have thought Wal-mart was this magical place. When Target moved into West Hollywood, that became my go to place. However, Wal-mart always remained in my heart. When I moved job to Torrance last year, I was SUPER excited that this Wal-mart was in walking distance to my work. I started making weekly trips there and slowly the magic has worn off for Wal-mart. I have bought several clothing items here, which falls apart within a few washes. I am weary about some of the food sale items, which seems dangerously close to the expiration date. I once asked an employee where an item was and they gave me a blank look like I was talking to them in another language. When it is busy, the line crawls and if you try to save time by using the self-checkout, most of the time, about half is out of order. SIGH. I am now only coming here in dire emergencies and instead I drive to Target, which is only about 10 minutes away for all of my needs. (By the way, if you sign up for a Target Redcard, I think the price is almost the same as Wal-mart for most products.) read more

Went to self checkout, the line was a bit long. The cashiers at self checkout kept yelling 10 items or less & no alcohol which is perfectly understandable. Mind you the man in front of us had way more than 10 items & alcohol in the cart. But since he was a personal shopper the rules didn't apply to him. When we were about to pay the loss prevention lady repeated to us that it was 10 items or less, we told her that it was 3 separate transactions & she said that we needed separate carts otherwise we had to go to the regular register. I had 9 items my sister 6 & my mother 4. Why on earth are we going to get 3 separate carts for the items we had. But the personal shopper can go to self checkout without limits? If you pay attention to their business practices, it's too easy to bash Walmart these days. Call me ghetto, but I had an excellent experience in their Auto Center today. I needed a car battery. I looked on their website to confirm the size and model. Check. Called to confirm stock and business hours. Check. Showed up just after 7:00 a.m. when they opened. Was the second person in line. They tested my six year-old battery and confirmed that it was no good. I gave them my keys at 7:30, got a coffee at Starbucks, found a present for a birthday party and my car was done by 8:00. No install charge, core charge or disposal fee. What's not to like? Bear in mind, Walmart doesn't make car batteries. Theirs are made by Johnson Controls, one of the largest OEM automotive suppliers in the U.S. (or world) and the manufacturer of the famous Interstate car battery. However, the Walmart "Everstart" branded version was only $100 installed vs. $140 plus installation for the Interstate. read more

I wasn't desperate, but I can't deny Walmart was the most convenient place to score what I wanted. I did a search online for a new dining set and was surprised to find the same exact item at Walmart at $100 cheaper. After doing a more thorough search, I learned this store had the item available, so... zoom my cousin and I went to pick it up! We went early enough on a Sunday morning and found ourselves void of the usual odd crowd Walmart attracts. We found what we wanted, and after a brief inspection, cousin, who is just as able bodied as me, decided neither one of us will be able to carry that big box into the car. It was way too heavy even for both of us. And here come our hero, LaTania, the one AND ONLY REASON for the five star rating. She told us the cart we got would be of no use (the box wouldn't fit) so she went away and came back with a trolley. She also told us not to carry or move it ourselves to avoid any possible injuries, and since she couldn't do it herself either, off she went again and got assistance from another associate to load that heavy item on the trolley. We thanked them and assumed they were just gonna leave us to it. But then, a nice surprise: she rolled the whole thing with us all the way to the cashier. While waiting, she made a great suggestion: why not take all the contents inside the big box and empty them out one at a time into the car instead of carrying that whole heavy box all at once? "We'll even get rid of the big box for you." GENIUS! Transaction done, and cousin and I expected she would leave us the cart and let us go off on our merry way. Nope. She pushed the cart out and dragged another associate with her to help us load everything in the car. Seriously, cousin and I had our jaws on the floor. Neither one of us had ever gotten this kind of service from Walmart EVER. 100% credit to LaTania for me liking Walmart again. I wish all of Walmart's employees were exactly like her. They finally got something right! Although I expect Walmart to somehow falter again in the future, this current rating is well deserved only because of how great LaTania was. Many of her colleagues as well as upper management (and then some) can learn a thing or two from her. read more

My issue with this location is that while Walmart as a company has been pushing curbside delivery and easy pickup, when you order online for this location, you have to park and walk literally through the ENTIRE STORE to the back to get your order; you do not pick it up at the front, no do they offer curbside pickup. If your motivation to order online was to avoid crowds, shopping here online is a fail. I mentioned that to the person staffing the pickup desk and she said that a lot of customers have that same expectation and she's not sure why the website doesn't clarify things better. She was nice, and I appreciated her lugging out my order so I could put it in my cart (cases of dog food and things I didn't want to life in the first place). If you're used to shopping at Walmart then this place will just be your usual experience. Parking is plentiful, but people take shortcuts through the aisles a lot and they definitely drive too fast. Was loading groceries in my car around noon time yesterday when a car pulled up behind me with two guys in it. The person on the passenger side rolled down his window and started asking me what nationality I am and where I was born at the same time showing me something he was wearing on his chest. I told him I was born here and said have a good day as I quickly got in my car. I wasn't sure what his intentions were but after I got in my car they rode off. I'm leaving two stars because Walmart is a huge store and they always have everything I need! The two star deduction is for a bad attitude havin cashier named Joyce. My boyfriend and I had come around 3 pm on a weekday, so the crowds were minimal. There was only one other party behind us in line. I smiled at Joyce and handed her my shopping bag before she began the transaction. She grabbed it and threw it on the lazy Susan thing. She proceeded to scan things and start placing the items over my bag. I asked her if I was to bag the items myself? She stared at me, rolled her eyes, and continued scanning. At this point I'm annoyed! She doesn't speak to my boyfriend and I not ONCE! I've never felt customer service this shitty in my life. I mumbled under my breath while walking away, Joyce is a shitty cashier. My bf had to calm me down because I really wanted to tell her something. But at the end of the day, I didn't want to let her bitterness ruin my day. It did for a second - but I quickly reminded myself, I am at Walmart for Christ sakes. So, the lesson here? WORST WALMART TIRE CENTER CUSTOMER CARE EVER!!! In April 2022, I purchased brand new tires along with road warranties for each tire. During last year's rain storms, in January, I hit a pothole and blew the tire. Attempted to file a claim with Walmart to no avail!! I called for several hours and nobody answered the phone. It's quite critical to have four working tires, especially in rainy weather. That being said, I was compelled to buy a new tire from Fabulous Davis Bros Tires in Culver City. Even though they were slammed, my call was answered immediately and the tire was replaced. Here I am, one year later, in pouring rain again, now with a nail in my tire. Twilight Zone all over again!! For TWO DAYS, I tried calling to make an appointment to bring in my car. I literally had to call Walmart Corporate headquarters to file a complaint.
