So in 2023 my wife and I went for our annual exam. First we were seen by an intern which was different but she was nice. Ordered glasses and contacts and asked to be called when both were ready. Went to pick up the glasses and contacts and only the glasses were ready. Went back again and they had only one box of contacts instead of the six month supply we paid for. After 3 trips we finally got what we ordered. 2024, this time saw the doctor who was awesome. Then we dealt with the office staff. First I was told I was eligible for frames, I questioned it because I got my frame allocation in 2023. The girl said no you are due and showed me the benefits. Then they hit me with a new $25 single prescription fee for my glasses. After all the ordering was done I said call me when both the glasses and contacts arrive. 30 minutes after leaving I get a call stating my insurance won't cover my frames because I'm not due until 2025. So I make the trip back to the office drop off my frames and say call me when everything is ready. 10 days later I get a call that my order is ready. I go in and surprise no contacts but glasses are ready. It's been 13 days and they couldn't get contacts in. Their response, well they come from up north! Every time you go In it's different staff. I'm done with this place once I get my wife's contacts. Great doctor but but sub par staff. read more

I was due for my yearly eye exam - and from start to finish, I was greeted by friendly staff and smiles (behind masks of course) and when I was taken back for my testing - I was walked through and had my results explained with such thoroughness all along the way- I literally had no questions to ask at the end of my visit. I selected my glasses and was explained what was covered by my insurance. Great place and it was so close to home! After going here for over 17 years. I am sad to say that the only reason I will not be returning is because I called to schedule an appointment & was placed on a long hold over 10 minutes with no call back. It's unfortunate but in addition to that I was seen by a new optometrist the last visit & the prescription did not seem to be as fitting as it normally would. read more

To start this off, may I just say that I couldn't have chosen a better Optometrist office than Hernandez Optometry. Most impressive of any optometrist that I've ever been to. ALL of the staff did an astounding job on the day of my appointment. I was initially greeted by all front office staff upon walking in which was quite a pleasant surprise. It's very sad to say, but these days. . it like pulling teeth for office personnel just to acknowledge you. NOT this office! So THANK YOU on that!! 1st impressions are EVERYTHING!! So moving on, as with all new patients, I was asked to complete the usual paperwork which took me about 10 minutes, more so because the information being requested was very thorough in nature which I can truly appreciate plus I'm a slow writer Anyhow, not so much as five minutes had passed upon completing the paperwork, that I was called in for the first part of the examination, which by the way was carried out with very high tech and state-of-the-art equipment. The assistant that was performing the exam was very professional and extremely knowledgeable as she was able to answer any questions that I had. (I'm so sorry, but I can't remember her name, but either way, she was absolutely excellent) "Hi Five Girl!" After the first part of the examination was completed, I was asked to return to the waiting room for a brief moment, only to be called back by the optometrist just a few minutes later. Again, a pleasant surprise. At this point, I was led to an exam room to complete the 2nd portion of my eye examination which also includes pupil dilation, which I actually hadn't had since I was a teenager so it was high time I get that taken care of. The optometrist began the process of the examination & again, answered all questions that I had regarding 'floaters', "glaucoma", etc. The Doctor was very informative & detailed with her explanations during the exam which made everything so easy to understand which again , so THANK YOU!! Once I my appointment was coming to an end, and since my eyes were dilated, one of the front desk assistance offered to clean the sunglasses that I had with me as well as add mild prescription lenses, but I didn't necessarily need so I graciously declined and took care of my copay. All this to say that after visiting Hernandez Optometry, and going through the process from beginning to end, I was immediately SOLD. I would HIGHLY recommend "Hernandez Optometry" to anyone that is currently looking for a first time optometrists or even to someone that might be looking to make a switch. I am still fairly new to the area, so convenience was also key in the search for an optometrist. There is ample parking on either side of the building which is also a huge plus in my book! If I could provide additional stars in my review I most definitely would. One other thing I'd like to add is that I could immediately tell that ALL staff that I communicated with were very well trained, with an extremely professional yet friendly demeanor so it was no surprise that this office provided such TOP NOTCH SERVICE!! Please DO NOT go to this place! This was my first time going to this Optometry location. I scheduled an appointment for my husband and like any other wife I was there to help him complete all paperwork and help him choose what frames to get. As soon as we walked in, the front desk receptionist started questioning us and made us feel uncomfortable. The first thing she said instead of greeting us was "do you have a mask"? I don't carry masks with me anymore because they are not required in LA County. No, we didn't have any. Immediately she told me I would have to wait for my husband outside and they will provide a mask to him. I told her I am there to help my husband. A tall guy, which most likely was the Optometrist told her to give us a mask. She still just brought one mask and told me to go wait outside. I felt disappointed in her attitude. Her attitude was very rude and I felt the negativity and bad customer service as soon as I walked in. If I could, I would give them 0 stars. No one did anything to assist us and that speaks very bad about them. They are not friendly at all. I do not like to give negative reviews unless they deserve it and this is one of those times. I was very indecisive when it came to picking the pair I wanted, they were very patient and helpful when it came to my frame decision. The frame selection was amazing, one of the reasons why I couldn't decide on just one. Dr. Hernandez was extremely thorough with the exam, and was very honest about not needing a new pair of glasses since my vision didn't change.
