My wife and I have been under Dr. Cassar's care for over a year. Our initial sessions were fine,…read morebut when I went back for another yearly eye check up, things seemed different. An assistant asked if there were any changes in my medications. I told her of a new prescription my primary care physician had given 8 months before. When Dr. Cassar came into the room, he basically lambasted me for nearly 5 minutes, telling me that I was not taking care of myself, and that he was my doctor, and he had a responsibility to tell me I was going to lose my eyesight. But then, after he did his own scans of my eyes, he told me they were nearly perfectly healthy, and that there was nothing to worry about at all. But no apologies for his earlier tirade. He said I needed a new eyeglass prescription, so I put down over $1000 to get the glasses made. This morning I was called by someone from the office and told that my glasses were ready, and I could pick them up any time. I said that I would be there soon. I drove out to the Complete Eye Health office, only to find the door locked. All the people who worked there, including Dr. Cassar, were sitting right there in the waiting area. I stood at the door for a moment, wondering what to do. Then Dr. Cassar's wife came to the door and unlocked it. But she would not let me in, and she did not ask why I was there. She said that they were having an office meeting, and that I should come back in an hour and 10 minutes or so. Then she pulled the door shut and locked it. I will go back sometime to get my glasses (after all, I have paid over a thousand dollars for them!). But not today. And we are likely to find another optometrist who treats us as if we are actually worth being part of the practice.

Initial interactions with office staff was friendly and satisfactory. However, future…read morecorrespondence has been unhelpful and frustrating. Spoke with Tom (eyeglass hardware salesman) about a billing issue and he advised he would have Beth Cassar or Dr. Cassar respond with assistance. This was last Wednesday and I have yet to receive a phone call from any party a week later. Not even a simple call to say we need more time to respond. A subsequent follow up phone call with Christy (receptionist) was not helpful either.

This was my first time going to Rx optical. The optometrist I saw was great, explained a lot…read more However, I don't think I'll be going back bc of the up front service. The staff first gives you the cost of lens and frames with everything on it, which a part of it I think was dubious & not well explained, like how far to the sides I wanted to see with my lens which differed in price??? Never heard of that before but the total bill would have come to $400, which I said no, and she narrowed my side sight down which brought the price down to $200. I guess if I want to see that far to the side, I'll turn my head. After I got home I saw there was a charge for $30 for a protection plan, which I was not asked about or was it even explained to me. When I went back for my glasses I asked if there was something to show what that plan was. She showed it to me in their flip up book. I asked if there was a handout I could take home. She said she could copy the page for me. When i tried on my glasses they were crooked so the service person got them straightened for me. Thought they fit OK but when I got home I realized the part that goes around the ear was sticking out too much & I could pull my glasses off with out any resistance. I haven't been to the optometrist in 3 yrs. but i then remembered that places i had been before always adjusted the stems around the ear before i left. Obvious they come from the factory with the ear part higher because they need to be adjusted around the individual ears, however that was never done. i did go back the same day and & asked if there was someone there who was trained in adjusting glasses bc that should have been done before I left the place, so it was then done. I don't know if they are not trained that well or they are lazy. This is a chain, I don't think it is as reputable as a stand alone optometrist. I'm sure it's a starting point for a lot of optometrist, & I don't know what the chances are that the one I saw will be there next year. I don't plan on going back, it is not that reputable in my eyes
