Look... Walmart is not supposed to be, or provide a shopping "experience". You could say that about other department stores, and maybe even Target, not here. They have almost everything under the sun, but the idea is to buy it, pay, and leave. With that said, not all Walmarts are created equal, and this one falls somewhere in the middle, hence the three stars. There isn't a plethora of employees out and about, but I've not had a negative interaction. A handful of people have had better days, but for the most part, our interactions have been pleasant, and if someone didn't have an answer, they would find out. Furthermore, Walmart is cheap! Some staples like eggs, milk, cheese may be cheaper than the Stoppy right next door. If you find you buy these things on the regular, do take a look at the prices, a couple extra bucks saved definitely doesn't hurt. Likewise, don't overlook the pharmacy. After my insurance decided to no longer cover my medication, and a different pharmacy wanted an arm and a leg, Walmart came through. Sure, it's not open 24 hours, but you can get your meds at prices cheaper than most. (though, in the hopes of saving you a couple bucks, if you have a Costco or BJ's membership, as them their rates). In terms of negatives: The store is organized a bit funny, with mailing envelopes being quite close to bicycles! On the one hand, I realize there is only so much that can be done when you carry everything under the sun. On the other, look to what Target did in keeping all sporting goods in one area as opposed to two. Second, I feel as though the displays could be a little tidier. Items are stocked for the most part, but having them arranged a bit nicer would not hurt. Finally, while they do have four self-scan registers because there are not a whole lot of regular registers open, lines can get a little on the long side. I've heard someone describe Walmart as a blue Target. Well, these stores couldn't pass as twins, maybe siblings (but maybe), but definitely cousins. read more

Walmart - Boating supplies - Department Stores Near Me - Weymouth, Massachusetts

Yikes. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but I was hoping to find what was supposed to be in the store (according to the website) and was in the area so I stopped in thinking I would find these (snack cakes loved by a friend who is currently at the Navy base in Italy and misses them). The parking lot seemed a bit crazy, so I parked as close to the road as possible for a quick escape. The store seemed dirty (echoed by some other reviewers) and while I have only been in two WalMarts before, they seemed OK. No snack cakes unfortunately, so I figured I would prowl around the baking aisle since I do a lot of baking and heard they had good prices on those items. They had NO semi-sweet chocolate chips except for their own brand, and the prices for flour and sugar were about the same as what I just paid at Stop & Shop. I also had no luck finding one other thing that was supposed to be in stock, and when I asked two employees they said the online stock status cannot be trusted. Good to know. The one positive thing was that they had the pillow inserts I needed to re-fluff my throw pillows, the price was good but I definitely wouldn't return to WalMart just for those. read more

This Walmart has seen some improvements with staffing in the last year. The Walmart feels cleaner, customer service lines aren't 30 minutes long anymore at non-peak times, and I haven't had to go to corporate to get an issue, like a cashier double scanned item, resolved. Yesterday, I decided to walk over while my car was being serviced and the greeters who may not have been greeters were really nice and upbeat. I got more than what I came for but almost everything I needed and I even found a frozen dragon fruit mix for my smoothies that Im excited to try! Fast forward to check out, I decided to use the self check out because I had less than 15 items in my cart. I guess my dark skin and big bag was a red flag because the black girl was WATCHING me so hard that she could've burnt a hole in my soul but then had the nerve to roll her eyes and suck her teeth when I said I didn't want to purchase select items. Sorry not sorry that I no longer wanted to purchase items in my MAYBE pile of my cart. And if you're going to profile people, how about you learn actual techniques. People should be able to shop comfortably no matter what they look like or how they dress. read more

This was really not good. while it provides a broad range of goods, unlike the previous review: The Walmart does not feels clean, customer service lines were over 40 (!) minutes long, and I could not be bothered to even complain. I don't know what hirings or firings have occurred, but this Walmart was depressing today, in the 30 min. shopping and 40 min. checkout line. partly caused, I believe, by the checkout continuely asking and being ignored, do you want an extended wauranty on that? it had what I wanted, although its stock did not match the online stock reported for that store! I had wasted so much time in line that I did not even have time to laugh at the guy asking for a receipt as I left. I would have liked to " the idea is to buy it, pay, and leave.", but instead I "bought, waited in line for 40 min., missed another task, paid, watched someone learn an asshole designed checkout system, and was part of said asshole-design checkout system, paid, and walked passed man waving his hands in the air. we forgot where we parked our car it took so long. would give zero stars if I could. The pharmacy at this location is sub-par at best. I have been on the same prescription for four years. every with with out fail there is an issue with filling it. I get text messages and emails telling me my prescriptions are filled and ready to pick up. Then when I arrive the pharmacist and the technician are rude and tell me there not ready. Again it's been four years same prescription same pharmacy every month and some how they need to verify the prescription every month. The other excuse I love is that my insurance doesn't cover it. Again four years same prescription..."we do this every month people!!" needless to say I won't be going back. Oldmens family pharmacy will be getting my business from now on. So I needed s'mores supplies. I had two choices - either Walmart or Stoppy as they are side by side. When I walked in there was a huge line and only like 3 registers open. There was an employee designating where customers could go get checked out and it wasn't working well. I went in search of s'mores supplies and found a s'mores display. There were marshmallows, graham crackers, skewers for the mallows, BUT NO CHOCOLATE. How do you have a s'mores display with no chocolate. It wasn't out - it was just missing altogether. So if you pop in here for s'mores stuff be prepared to look in 8 places for what you may need. Customer service wasn't bad despite the long lines and crowd, so there's that for a plus. The place is often dirty though and good luck trying to get any help from the staff since the second you try to ask them something they are already walking away in another direction. This Walmart has been redone. It's much nicer than before. It's like a BLUE Target inside instead of RED. If u need to return something, they will at first try to tell you that you can't especially if you don't have a receipt. However, if you are NOT A JERK and you're polite and can make the case and show the bags and tags or tell the story that's reasonable and can make an authentic compelling case, and not sound like a big fat liar, they get it, and will cut you a break if you're making an exchange. Please, also, be very kind to the employees because they work sooooo hard. Some employees actually will chit chat with you to make long ring ups go smoother, and nicely. read more

Yikes. This is definitely still not one of the better Walmart stores. I used to actually be ok. Now it's one of the worst Walmart stores. First: it's not renovated, as most of the other Walmart stores in the area. Not that many of the Walmart stores in this area are much better (the Quincy location is far worse,Hanover location is about tied, and Avon is MUCH better). Yet, very disappointed with my experience on 12/30/13, when this store would not match a price from their website over a large gift I was purchasing for a family member for late for Christmas. Since it was a large item, and already late, I made the trek here because none of the other stores in MA had it (besides one in Worcester & Whitinsville, which I didn't either know at the time). The manager wasn't very friendly and the cashier was extremely slow. Very disappointed. Only go if you have to, otherwise the Avon Walmart is SO much better. UPDATE: Walmart in Weymouth is still not the best it could be. That said, they did renovate recently and it looks somewhat better. They didn't really do that much, but improved and expanded the grocery and added more modern signs and new price scanners throughout the store. Staff are still not the best. Barely any lines are open... at least they added Self Checkout (my fav). Good improvement, but not to the best extent it should have been. They keep trying to do the littlest possible to make the store better.... unfortunately, it isn't working. The Walpole and Avon locations are the places to shop. 3 stars. read more

WOW IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY. I have been in this line for 25 minutes waiting to get a money order. The machine was out of the money order paper, but that wasn't really communicated to the line of customers waiting in line for over 20 minutes. Then an employee comes over to fill the machine but she has no idea how to do it and is on the home with someone who does. A gentleman behind me asked if they could open another register for people not waiting for a money order, at which point a staff member gave him unbelievable attitude and walked off. He asked to speak to the manager. When the manager Shawn approached the gentleman behind me was already a bit upset and asked why they couldn't open a register for people not waiting for a money order, the manager gave the same not so helpful answer, and the gentleman stated "you didn't answer the damn question" at which point the MANAGER says "I did not come up here to get yelled at my a customer so if you don't like my answer there's the door". I mean it got worse than this but I just don't have the time to go through the blow by blow. The manager told the customer to leave and take his business elsewhere. Again...WOW IS ALL I CAN SAY. I understand the managers stand point but there was a lot that led up the the customer being upset and he walked in "hot". The first employee and the manager should be aware that they are at work and should be able to keep their cool and be professional. I guess I'll be visiting the Quincy Walmart, I've never ever seen something like this happen. read more

I go out of my way to shop at this Walmart. This one is far superior over the Quincy one and it's usually less crowded, which is always a plus. I tend to get good service here and the workers aren't miserable at this Walmart. As far as prices go, typically the same as most Walmarts and the selection is basically the same, except more organized. read more

For a regular Walmart this store is not bad. Better than Hanover that's for sure. They improved their food section and they have an adequate supply of shoes. The parking lot is big that's for sure but when it rains you are going to walk in puddles to get to the store. The only time we go here is when we're in Weymouth because we like the Super Walmart's better. You'd think the Weymouth Walmart would be an undesirable word combo enough to stay away from, but I had a Christmas gift to return and it was on my way home. I was 3rd or 4th in line at the service desk and still waited about 20 minutes. This is 2 weeks after Christmas so it wasn't like they were swamped. When I finally got to the counter the woman lied to me and told me I couldn't get store credit for an item I was returning WITH a receipt. According to her the money had to go back on the credit card it was purchased with. I've never heard of this rule in my life. I'm sure if I had thrown a tantrum and demanded to see the manager I could have gotten someone who knew what they were doing and gotten store credit. But unfortunately for me I couldn't bring myself to make the now 4x as long line of people wait all night. I didn't make it past the service desk but the store is gross. Someone please send them a WikiHow article on mop & bucket instructionals. For a retailer I can't think of any more severe an insult than: dirtiest Walmart I've ever seen. read more

I never really cared for it in the first place( cluttery pkce... smelly... weird shoppers.. not at just this but all) and just bought things when I went in there with someone else out if convince. But my last experience was the last straw. At this location my son wanted to buy a bicycle and I agreed. 150 plus dollars.... and we took it home. Then the very first time he rode it the front tire blew. Flew head first into the pavement My son was bleeding everywhere ( he's better now ) anyways we went to return the bike with the receipt a couple of days later and the customer service lady said " we didn't purchase it there " when it clearly said we did and she still rudly saying we didn't and she got the manager and the manager was no help even though we had the receipt and for this location. So my son threatened cooperate and only then they divided to give us a refund. No apology or anything. I even told then about my son's accident but they didn't care. Walmart is s joke. I really don't understand why people like Walmart so much. Herd mentality, I guess. I've never been impressed with any of the Walmarts I've gone into. They're overcrowded, with narrow aisles, and the merchandise tends to be thrown around instead of neatly placed on the shelves. Their stores look like total disaster areas. Their parking lots tend to be madhouses, and they have people who sometimes check your bags as you're walking out the door, as though you're some kind of criminal. Then of course, there are the scary-looking people who shop and work there. The whole experience is just hellish. With all this trouble, you would think they'd offer lower prices than the competition, but no, they don't, despite their reputation to the contrary. Everyone seems to think that Walmart sells items cheaper than anyplace else. I've done comparison shopping and I haven't found this to be the case. In fact, some items at Walmart are actually MORE expensive than some other stores, including stores you would think would be more expensive. Like for example, a couple of weeks ago, I was in the Walmart in Weymouth, and I noticed that they sell Tea Tree Triple Treat, made by Giovanni Hair Care Products. This is the organic hair conditioner that I typically buy at Good Health Natural Foods in Hanover and Quincy, a small family-owned earthy-crunchy health food store. You'd think that this product would cost a fortune at Good Health because it's not a big chain, and they don't have the buying power that Walmart has. But no, Walmart sells this product for over $8, while Good Health sells it for less than $7, almost a $2 difference. So much for a goliath like Walmart offering lower prices than a local mom-and-pop business. Want another example of Walmart being more expensive than the competition? Compare the price of their pasta. Name brand pasta at Walmart typically costs $1.39 for a one pound box. If you buy it on sale at Stop & Shop, Shaw's, or any other local supermarket chain, you can typically get it for $1. Again, Walmart is more expensive. Sure they offer their own generic brand for $1, but God only knows what quality it is. If Walmart really offered value, they'd be selling Prince or Barilla pasta for a buck, not their cheap ass store brand. Service at Walmart is the pits. The employees are obviously unhappy about working there. No wonder, since corporate probably treats them like dirt (just watch the documentary "Walmart: The High Cost of Low Price"). Tonight I went to the pharmacy at Walmart to get my girlfriend's painkiller prescription, since she recently suffered a concussion. I walk up to the pharmacy counter, and a girl who looks like she's about 19 years old says "Are you all set?" What kind of way to greet a customer is this??? Am I all set??? So I give her the prescription, and she tells me that they have it in stock, and it should take about 20 minutes to fill. 20 minutes go by, and she tells me sorry, we don't have that medicine in stock. That's 20 minutes after she told me they did! Meanwhile, my girlfriend is back home suffering in pain, waiting for her meds. I ended up going to CVS down the street and I got the prescription filled just fine. Between the hellish experience of shopping in their stores, their high prices, and shady business ethics (again, watch the documentary), Walmart isn't even worth going to. You're better off going to a local place. You'll save money and have a much more positive shopping experience. read more

I went into walmart and asked an associate if they had the green beach cruiser, without checking inventory he said no. I went out to my car and went online, the website said it was in stock and I could buy it and pick it up in store same day. I purchased it online and took it in to tell them this. They proceeded to tell me they weren't sure if it was still in stock and it wasn't put through yet so I'd have to wait for the email. They really can't go out back and check. I go home and as I am one street away I get the email that the bike is ready for pick up. Really Walmart?! The manager was standing right there and never once intervened to tell them to check if the item was in stock. This is why I typically shop Target. read more

But the one time i try to call and count on the service of walmart to find a toy for a kids birthday party the next day, i was completely shut down. Phone service with tom of the toys department was just not ideal at all, as kept implying that i look online and figure out whether they had something in stock. This wall mart can be a great store but ther are some employees there who really need to do a better job. The kid in the audio visual department knows his stuff. The lady in the computer department when I asked for help acted like she could not be bothered to help me. Overall there Wall Mart is clean and I have no complaints about it. They are always well stocked up on sale items. Overall this Wall Mart is what it is. It's not great but it's not horrendous either read more

The customer service for the online pick up in this store absolutely stinks. I waited for 20 minutes and nobody came to help me. I used the phone on the desk to call several departments and nobody picked up the phone so I went up front to get a manager. She proceeded to tell me that they match the online prices in the store when in fact they don't. How's this for customer service a was in the store on Saturday 12/13 and the PS 4 controller that I wanted was $11 cheaper online so the man in the electronics department told me to go home and order it and then come back and pick it up in the store 2 trips for one item!!!! I will never do an online order there again. She said she would give me 10% back on my purchase but I didn't have time to wait another 1/2 hour for $5. read more

To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to inform you of poor customer service I received in your Weymouth Massachusetts location. Actually, the term "poor" is a huge understatement. The correct description for the customer service I received is entirely disgraceful. I am a resident of Weymouth and have been shopping at your Weymouth location since it opened. Today (August 27, 2016) I went to your store to purchase a DVD. I went to the electronics department and found the DVD. It was the last copy in the section. When I picked it up I heard a rattling sound. I decided I would purchase the item, and if it was damaged, if not I would take it home. I opened the DVD on the way back to my car and found that it was indeed completely scratched and damaged. I took the DVD, packaging, and receipt to the customer service desk to return the item. I was told by the clerk that despite the fact that this item was damaged, they would not take it back due to copy write laws. I explained to her that I had made the purchase less than 2 minutes ago and had not even made it back to my car before finding out that this item was damaged. She told me that they would not take the item back and I would not be refunded. They would only exchange the item for the same one. When I told her that this was the only copy they had she basically told me that this was too bad and that they would still not refund me for the damaged item. At this point I pointed out that it is completely inappropriate to sell a damaged item and then refuse to take it back. She told me the only way that this refund was possible was to have a manager override the transaction. She then turned around and called for their front end supervisor Timothy to come and assist her. The way that Timothy spoke to me was deplorable. The way he spoke to me is a way that I wouldn't speak to another human being, never mind a customer. When the clerk explained the situation to Timothy, he immediately began to lash out and tell me there was no way that I would be getting a refund on this damaged item. The instant he began talking to me he was shouting. He shouted at me that I would not be getting my money back no ifs ands or buts about it. He told me the only thing he could do would be to call another store to see if they had it. I asked if they would ship the item to the Weymouth location for me to come back and pick up. He looked at me like I had three heads and shouted that they would definitely not be doing this and that I would have to take my damaged item to a store 15 miles away, which happens to be right next to a Target. At this point I had been denied any sort of quality customer service, and was now being shouted at for asking for any assistance. I told him that I did not appreciate being shouted at and spoken to the way he was speaking to me. He then stopped talking, threw his hands up in the air, and shouted towards the ceiling even louder that "HE WAS NOT SHOUTING AT ME." Instead of continuing to be spoken to like this I walked away. As I was walking away Timothy continued to shout at me from across the store that he was not shouting at me. Let me emphasize this, your employee continued to shout at a customer at the top of his lungs across the store. This experience is totally unacceptable. Timothy is not only a disgrace to your store, but also to your entire company. If I can walk into a Wal-Mart and be shouted at and verbally abused at one of your locations, then I will save myself the aggravation and no longer shop at any of your stores. I went through a line up to register and asked for a book of stamp, the cashier had no idea what I was talking about. I even tried to out line an envelope but he had no idea what I was saying.
