The restaurant was very neat and clean. The had options for seating and in the bar area, it is first come first serve. We sat in the bar area. The drink of the day is a very good idea. The drink was sangria. We had tuna tacos for the appetizer. The tuna was delicious but there was so much tortilla and I didn't like that part. There could have been more tuna and less slaw as well. I wouldn't have it again. There was also a pick 2 meal. I had steak and soup. The steak was amazing and tinder. The veggies were steamed perfectly. My only real complaint about the meal was the lobster bisque, there was no lobster in it, so that was a disappointment. I won't order that soup again if I come back. Our server was great but around the time we were trying to leave, we couldn't get the check. All in all, we will definitely return. read more

On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, my wife and I had 'dinner' at your restaurant for our 42nd anniversary. This was our decision to give your place a 2nd chance after our Nov 2021 visit for my wife's birthday. That dinner made her sick on her birthday and it definitely was from either unclean lettuce greens or someone in the kitchen failing to practice good hygiene. You brushed that off as coincidence. HA ! You sent us a gift card which we did not intend on using because of that experience, but we decided to give Walnut Grill another chance hoping we could once again have a good meal at what once was our favorite place to eat out. It was NOT TO BE. The servers, Brooke and a trainee were terrific, and the service is the only thing we were happy about last night. To play a style of music that a lot of people do not care for is presumptuous. And at the volume level was even more annoying than to try and block out contemporary country crap. But that was remedied when we asked Brooke to see if it could be turned down a bit, which it was, for awhile. But someone turned it back up 1/2 hour later. But that isn't the worst of our experience. The food was absolutely terrible. I didn't want to cause a fuss and send back a Rueben sandwich and cause embarrassment for my wife so I ate it anyway. I never had such lousy corned beef filled with grissle and fat through and through, having to spit a lot of it out. Her shrimp tacos were bland and certainly not worth $16 as was the Rueben also not worth $16. Even her favorite appetizer, brussel sprouts tasted different and not as good as the many times we have had them before. All in all the dinner was awful. Service again was terrific. Atmosphere was annoyingly loud with that music. Maybe try and choose music more of a generic blend of rock, classics, even some pop, or just some background sound that won't annoy some customers. But the main reason we will not be back is that the quality of your food has gone from a solid 8 or 9 out of ten over the past several years to a 1 or 2. What is wrong with your chefs??? Can't they see that fatty corned beef for a Rueben should not be served??? I just don't get what has happened to the Walnut Grill we used to love from 2013 or so until 2020???? Poor management, poor quality control, lousy cooking skills, no palette to test, NO TASTE, etc. We are completely disappointed as this is the 2nd special occasion dinner ruined by your almost unedible food. Needless to say, we WILL NOT RETURN, EVER. Don't bother to try and send a gift card as we will not use it to give you a 3rd chance. If I owned a restaurant I would have been embarrassed to serve the kind of slop served to us last night. EMBARRASED ! I may send this to your corporate HQ as well as posting on Google etc. I'd wish you luck with fixing things there but after several attempts to give constructive feedback to you over the past few years, I gather that you just don't care. Just bad. We made reservations and walked in and were seated immediately. We were then asked to move to another area because our server was too busy. Okay, so now we get up and move. They seat us right by the door at an undesirable high top. We order drinks and finally get our food order taken. Then... we wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for food to come. Oh did I mention that we got up and asked when we might expect the food to arrive. We were told that the kitchen was busy? Well we did see a couple take out orders but restaurants can't be more than 50% occupied, so that doesn't fly. Three meals arrived and the server told one of our party oh by the way, your baked potato isn't available, what do you want. After an hour and twenty minutes you now ask? Food comes, I did get a potato, lucky me, however it was hard as a rock. My burger had an odd flavor. My son hated his tilapia. We were never checked up on after food arrived too. As I type, our check still hasn't been taken and we've been here two hours. I simply won't be back. read more

We held my daughter's bridal shower at Walnut Grill Wexford, and it was amazing! The food was delicious, the service was good, and they did everything they could to make the day special. The back room is perfect for a party for 30 (ish) people. Highly recommended! read more

Food is decent but service just experienced was awful and insult full. Order food through Uber eats and thought I'd save on some delivery fees, so pick it up. Arrive on time and walk in when it says food is ready. Someone finally approached me after 6 people walk past and tell me a driver took my order. 10 mins of standing there and they said it has to be remade. 20 mins go by and finally ask for a a manger. 5 more minutes until the manager finally comes with my food. After explaining my experience the manager finally puts two and two together that it's actually my food and I'm not the Uber driver. Event though when I first asked for my food I just said I ordered take out and I wasn't from Uber eats. Because I ordered take out from Uber eats they assumed I'm a driver. The most insulting part is not the 35 mins I stood awkwardly by the door not know what was going on, it's that after the manager realized I was a customer he instantly started apologizing. Treat your customers and Uber eats drivers better. And when you screw up, offer a beer or take care of my app while the awkward guy twiddles his thumbs by the door because of your mistake. My husband and I went for happy hour after some work around the house. not a big crowd, but the bartender was inattentive at best. The wine and beer selections were good and the appetizers we ordered were very enjoyable. The service abysmal. He had a buddy at the bar who he was involved wit h while we sat with empty glasses. Walnut Grill's food is typically good. Their entrees can fill you up but they are overpriced and expensive for what you're getting. The only dish I'd avoid is the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. They used a piece of chicken that you would use in a Parmesan chicken dish. Then they just dump a meh hot sauce all over it and put it on bread. It really didn't live up to my expectations. My family and I go to Walnut Grill at least once a month. I have also hosted several party events at the restaurant and my guests always raves about the food, service and the ambience. I love the appetizers on the menu and sometimes make a meal just of starters. I especially love the hummus plate; it's huge and must be shared! Sometimes we have had to wait for a server but for the most part the service is consistent. In the warmer months eating al fresco is a nice way to experience a meal. read more

Had lunch with a girlfriend so arrived a bit early (around 11:30am). The host station was empty so I waited and waited... Finally someone arrived and showed me to a booth in the lounge just as my friend arrived. We had a wonderful waiter who was friendly but efficient. He brought our drinks, took our order and gave us space to catch up! The booth was comfortable for quiet speaking. Our breakfast arrived quickly. I ordered from the sides menu of pancake, bacon and home fries. I LOVE bacon but this bacon was limp (ordered crispy) and seemed marinated in something very spicy. The pancake was delicious. Update: we were just there on Saturday for a charity event. They were great to open their doors to St. Baldrick's to help pediatric cancer research. This time we had Mike F(aka Turtle) and he was amazing as well! Really curious about their hiring process, because seriously... Everyone we've had so far has been great! Mike F took really good care of us. The event ran long and we ended up staying for dinner. From the moment we sat down, he read our table to a T and threw back as much sarcasm as we there at him. Random info nugget: we had Alex last time and like I said we were at an event for pediatric cancer. Mike F actually SHAVED ALEX'S HEAD DURING THE EVENT!!! This is how awesome their staff are. I was there for a party this evening. One concern that I had was that the parking lot was very dark and most of their lights were out. We had the party in the party room in the back. We had our engagement party here 2 years ago and the managers I worked with were very nice and made everything within the budget without compromising the quality and quantity of the food. We had the wild mushroom chicken, parmesan crusted chicken, a beef dish and a fish dish. We got the brownie works for dessert, which is one of the reasons why we chose this place for our engagement bc brownie sundaes is our thing. The only thing about that party was that they had one server for our party of 25. Anyway, I do frequent this place for the food and happy hour. It's nice in warmer weather where they open the outdoor patio and have a bar outside. The strawberry bellini-tini is delicious. They have a daily drink special and it's also one of the ony places that have firefly sweet tea vodka. I recommend this place although they really need to do something about the parking lot because there are times when it's so crowded that I get turned off to stay. I visit Walnut Grill once or twice a year. The food has always been good. They also have a daily (yes that includes weekends!) 5-7pm Happy Hour with discounted beer & wine and discounted appetizers. For example the ahi Tuna app is $12 on the regular menu & $8 at Happy Hour & that's actually the most expensive app. I had the Traveler Pumpkin Shandy beer which was fresh & cold. They have a decent selection of microbrews. I have sat at tables, but the last 2 visits I sat solo at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, but sometimes it's hard to get their attention when busy. I don't like when bartenders make the assumption that if you're solo (and female) that you won't be eating. I was only given a happy hour menu & regular menu 20 minutes after my drink order was taken & on my request since 2 other patrons were given the happy hour menu immediately (even though I inquired about happy hour before ordering my beer). Anyway, if you haven't joined their email club I advise it since Walnut Grill gives you $20 off an entree & does not (like other restaurants) require you to buy a second entree to receive the discount. I ordered the Pick 3 Mixed Grill with filet, salmon & shrimp. They say all are cooked to medium but I did get my steak medium rare so I guess they cooked the salmon a bit rare, so the fish was sightly less cooked than I like it, but both were good. Shrimp have a fresh off the grill flavor. I ordered double veggies instead of potatoes & got asparagus & yellow squash & zucchini. It was all very good & like I said, the entree itself only cost me just $7 with my birthday discount! They have a nice selection on their menu & they get crowded on Fri & Sat nights so advance reservation may be required. Also the bar gets full shortly after 5 most nights as well. read more

I came to your establishment with a party of 23 for dinner . The waitress we had was extremely rude and bothered that she had to take care of our party . The food came out sporadically and at the end when we asked for our checks we were told that their was only 1 check . The waitress was again rude and kept telling us to split it 7 ways which made no sense. We had to sit and waste our family time dividing the check on paper : once this was done then the rude waitress says I guess I can split this on the computer . This experience was frustrating and simply unnecessary : That server did not deserve 20 % but she received it anyway due to a large party. . Is that why she was so rude because she felt she would get the tip anyway . Just. Very disappointing evening . read more

I have been to this location many times and the food and service was fine. Went out with friends for a dinner and socializing. It was fairly busy when we arrived and the waitress got to us fairly quickly to take our drink orders. Our drink orders were a bit slow on the first round but not an issue. The dinner orders for all 4 of us were from the specials menu for the nite. Ordered 2 appetizers, one showed up that the kitchen help brought out. Didn't worry too much about it at first, The waitress didn't get back to us to let us know what was happening. We waited for our food for a good 45 -60 min. When it did come out the second appetizer came out too. the appetizer ( fried Brussels sprouts) was burnt. One dinner was a baked fish plate. The fish was burnt enough that the meat was hard. Another dinner was a burger that the bun and the patties were burnt. The waitress did not come to the table to check on our food to see if it was satisfactory we had to flag down an assistant manager to complain. He said he would see what he could do, he brought us a round of drinks (not good). When the waitress did come by and we complained she did not offer any assistance. One of our party had to find the manager to have her come to the table and work this out. All in all the food was bad, the service was atrocious and we will not be frequenting this establishment in the future. Don't waste your time, there are plenty of better places around Walnut Grill that are much better and within walking distance. read more

I was so excited after all this time to finally be able to go out to lunch with a friend.  Of all the restaurants in the North Hills and McKnight Rd, we chose Wexford Walnut Grill and what a mistake! The atmosphere was inviting,  We sat out on the patio to enjoy the nice weather. Our server greeted us not long after we sat offering us a beverage... and there is where it all ended. We both ordered the Walnut Salmon with spiced orange marmalade.  We were asked if medium was ok, we both agreed. Took a little longer than I would have expected for our caesar salads to appear, but they showed up, as ordered (I asked for dressing on the side).  The dressing was watery with little flavor even after continuously stirring it mix in the parm cheese. We waited another 10 minutes for our salmon.  As soon at it was delivered we were asked if everything was ok.  It looked ok since we had not had a chance to take a bite. It was not. The salmon was dry, NOT medium at all.  I asked for more marmalade dressing for both of us, asked twice so I could eat it while my fish was still warm. The dressing seemed to be just orange marmalade, nothing with a spice to it as described on the menu.   Our waiter was busy with others.  Was not until we were totally done with lunch did he stop at our table and ask if we wanted refills on our drinks.  I told him I would have had one IF it would have been while we were still eating and not when we were waiting on our checks now that we were finished. I understand that restaurants are trying to get back to normal but today you missed the mark totally. I waited tables for years paying my way through college.  I know what can be done, even when you are busy, refilling beverages and checking on food, AFTER the first bite, is just basic food services! Went there with a party of 23. Had a reservation Server should have clarified that the policy there was that they cannot split up check for parties over 20 people. That makes no sense at all. Also we found out about the policy when the check came out. Here is one simple way this could have been solved. 1. Once everyone is seated identifying how many checks and to individual on each check. Group A 1,2,3,4,5,6. Group B 1,2,3,4, etc. 2. Take charge of the situation not leave the entire group trying to figure out on their phone calculators who bought what. 3. No waitress wants to handle the dirty work up front, but you have to to avoid a mess at the back end. Food was average pricing a bit high. 4. Mgr. should get involved no Mgr. in sight. Busy night but a party of 23 people. C'mon Man a Mgr. should have been glued to that area for the entire experience. 5. Never really going there again. Why get frustrated for average food. read more

This was our first visit here. Our party of six had a reservation at 5 PM. When we walked in our table was ready and they had the kids high chairs in place as requested. Happy hour is awesome it goes on from 5 to 7pm every day. Our server Daniel was super friendly and on point with everything.
