A great calm, and extremely clean park! Sites were bigger than what we are used to! Laundry room is clean and the ladies at the front office are great! This park is located close to everything you'd need!! There is a doggy run at the front of the park where they keep bags too, my dog and I enjoyed bike riding everyday :)

Stray bullet that struck my rv

On March 18,2017 my family was camping at the walnut rv. A stray bullet struck the rear of my rv lodging into the frame of the bunk bed my son was sleeping on. Needless to say we felt very "unsafe" L.A.P.D. told us this was not the first stray bullet they had seen. We was very disappointed in the office staff. They just did not seem to care about the fact that a BULLET struck our rv . The lack of compassion, interest, or care truly shows the content of character. Definitely would not recommend staying here.

    Beautiful campground!

Our family was planning a weekend visit to Universal Studios, we have dogs that we don't kennel nor do we stay in hotels with them, so we found this park convenient to park our trailer, stay a night and keep our dogs in the AC for the day while we enjoyed the day. It is nice and clean and has full hook ups. There is no pool or anything recreational like that, though I do believe there is a game room and gym. Like I said we weren't there for that so I didn't check them out to even tell you what was in them or how they are. The restrooms were clean and have showers, we use the restroom and shower in our rig but did have to use the park restrooms a couple of times. It is a clean and quiet place where a lot of people are long term or residential guests. Please, if you are looking for a place to "rage", do not come here, it is not the place.

Things to know, the air traffic is heavy and all the time being next to Van Nuys Airport. It is generally crowded with tight spaces but seems to work out well for the park. Date: February 1, 2025…read more I think this is my first review of 2025! Woowoo! That's what motherhood does to ya. I had this park bookmarked for a while now and decided to check it out today. We were actually around the area for lunch but didn't plan to go to a park and ended up driving back this way for it. Read the reviews and was excited to check it out and I'm so glad we did! As a recent mom of three, I felt so comfortable and safe solo watching my kids here. It's a nice playground in the middle of a fenced off grassy area with a restroom right by it. I loved that the restroom was right next to the playground to make a quick trip and not worry too much about my kiddos playing. They have a bunch of trees and also shaded top above so it was nice even though it was hitting 80F still! Surprisingly all the parents around were super attentive to their kids and made sure nobody was hurting another. I heard so many kids apologize for accidentally bumping into other kids and it just felt so nice to be in a kid area with kids who were well behaved, especially bc of my toddlers. Restrooms weren't too bad for a park. Not the cleanest but definitely not the worst I've been to. Overall I'm so happy we found this park and we will definitely be back more often!

Here, you will stay in a trailer (possibly an Airstream or something like an Airstream) and you are probably a 10 minute walk to the beach. Beat that. If you have ever stayed in a trailer, you know it's tight quarters. But you get your own kitchen and bathroom and it's a heckuva lot more fun than a bland, stale hotel room. The site has firepits. Even better, they give you complimentary s'more kits with all the fixings. They have BBQs for grilling. They give you cookies and yogurt in the morning. They even give you oranges so you can squeeze your own orange juice. I don't drink orange juice normally but the juice here was outstanding. They have books and games available for borrowing. They have hammocks and swings and picnic tables. They have bikes for free rental. They have freshly-baked cookies that are delicious. There is apple cider and hot chocolate. There are a lot of amenities here which you simply will not find at most hotels. The train runs right by here and it's loud and shocking at first but it doesn't come by that often and you get used to it. Inside the trailer, aside from the train, the grounds are extremely quiet. This is a fun place and something different. The location is great and you get a lot of value for your money.

There have been large homeless encampments directly across from the "wash" which separates the park from the back of the train station. Right now it's empty but it's only a matter of time before they return. There are gates separating the encampments from the park but some enterprising folk have pried them open so anyone can walk across from multiple locations. It was mentioned elsewhere that there are some mature trees that provide some shelter, but only about two picnic tables. Lots of undeveloped land. I guess they don't want to encourage kids as there is no playground equipment or a soccer field. There is a grass path around the perimeter where I've seen some brave folks stroll in groups or walk their dogs. I walked with my son there the other day and got a bit nervous when some big homeless bro started walking across the empty encampment towards us. Another time, when I was taking some photos of the epic gangland "murals" on the back of the train station some dude from the encampment came over to ask if I was a cop! Anyway, to sum up, this ain't the kind of park I'd feel too comfortable walking around alone especially in the evening -- unless I was with a pet -- like a Doberman...
