I wanted to give a thorough positive review of my time at the park. Where to start... Brevity isn't my strong suit, but honesty is. I've been at the park long term (approximately 6 months) and it's been a pleasure from reservation to present. I've never been at an RV park for longer than a couple weeks so I'm grateful that I found the Walnut RV Park for a longer stay. I coordinated through the web site to get here and then my plans changed and the manager Crystal worked with me to make it happen. Crystal is the manager, and I began to call her the Mayor because it really feels like a community, and she does a great job of staying in touch with those at the park without being nosey. She politely enforces the rules and is reasonable in accommodating requests. Crystal has a leadership presence about her and has a wonderful staff to make it a great place to stay. She's clearly an educated and experienced professional that knows how to work with a diverse group of people. I personally would probably lose my mind doing what she does but thankfully, she's going it and doing it well. Throughout my stay, I've witnessed numerous examples of her leadership, assistance and professionalism. Before I babble on about the staff, which is fantastic as they're friendly, helpful and efficient. So, the park isn't huge, but it seems big enough to walk dogs on a few laps when you don't want to venture out into Northridge and beyond. In fact there's an awesome park a walking distance around the corner on Vanalden Ave. The park has short timers and long termers. I like the feeling of vacation at the park which to me is the great attitudes that are inevitably present when people are RVing. Many of the long termers work in the area which is what I was doing, and it was perfect. I've noticed a fair number of foreign travelers who rent an RV and check out the area attractions which made for great conversations at the pool. Speaking of area attractions, my work had me here on temporary work assignment, but I wanted to take advantage of being a tourist and it was pretty easy from here. Augustine works the grounds keeping it spotless, making fixes as needed and gives me the impression that there's a couple clones of him here because he's everywhere and he's so happy and polite that I wanted to offer him a job at my business, but he loves it here which you can tell. Augustine has a heart of gold and a work ethic that can get anything done. I've seen him every day that I was here and the only time he stopped working was to be nice to someone. I saw him helping a family get their camper which they clearly didn't have much experience with, and he was so sweet, helpful and didn't seem to sweat it for a second after which, he went right back to his work project. I was thinking...leave that man alone, he works so hard, but he definitely helps everyone he can because he wants to and enjoys it. Myriam is a wonderfully helpful gal who works the office and keeps things running smoothly with a smile on her face even when I've overheard what I would say are unreasonable requests from customers. Myriam knows her job and is committed to working efficiently, accurately and with the customer in mind. I think that having a polite and professional at the front door greeting customers and helping campers allows everyone to ask for help when they need it, provide feedback for park improvement and generally made me feel like I was living in a cozy little community. Clinton works in and about the office, but I've seen him walking the streets and checking to ensure all is right. I personally enjoyed his kindness and patience. For example, I was in the main clubhouse on my laptop during some HOT months and my RV air conditioner could not keep up. I found myself babbling on and on with him until I stopped myself because I was definitely using him for his knowledge and kindness for a long time. Even then, he was polite and accepting. A great guy! I mentioned they have a sort of clubhouse area that everyone can use. It's the building that you check into when you get here. It has a nice big TV with comfortable seating around. I went in to hang out when I needed to cool down or mostly when I was just bored and ended up with interactions with others from the park. There're books, games and is a generally nice area to hang. Oh, I have to mention the events they put on. They put together events for all kinds of things where members of the park can participate or not. They post events online, at the clubhouse and have put out invites. They do little parties for holidays, locally important events and to generally socialize. I wasn't able to attend as many as I wanted but when I was able, it was always nice and fun. They have a great little swimming pool right behind the clubhouse which Augustine keeps spotless and in order. My wife and I like this RV park. In June 2013 we stayed in the park three nights right before leaving for a 14 month travel around North America with our RV (20,000 miles with our Class A and 16,000 with our toad). After seeing and experiencing various types RV campgrounds all around this continent we are categorizing Walnut as 3 stars....IN GENERAL TERMS. However, here is a few things that we typically are looking for from an RV campground in large cities: It should be reasonably priced, well maintained, quiet, clean (including swimming pool, showers and bathrooms) and nice helpful personnel and easy access for basic shopping (mainly groceries). This park has it all!. As a bonus, Walnut RV park is about 30 minutes away from Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Hollywood Bowl, Chineese Theater in Hollywood, Beverly Hills and about 40 minutes from Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. In our opinion this is very good considering that Walnut is located in a major metropolitan area! Oh, by the way the Getty Center is only about 20 minutes away and wonderful hiking trails are just about 20 to 45 minutes away (Rocky Peak Park & Santa Monica Mountains), depending on what kind of hiking one is looking for. We're, as I'm writing this review, back at Walnut, this time staying a week. Tomorrow we're leaving for a short trip but will definitely come back to stay here next time when we are in the area....and that is....soon. This park IS NOT for people who are looking for a luxury resort and not for people that want very large space for outdoor living outside their RV and have campfire burning in the evenings. Our coach is 37 foot National Tropi-cal Class A with three slideouts and we didn't have a smallest problem to back it into the spot and having all slides out. We still have plenty of space to park our Toyota FJ Cruiser next to our bus and there is still plenty of space to park another vehicle, or having chairs, table, BBQ and the usual stuff to be set up. As a reasonably priced and centrally located RV campground in L.A. Metropolitan Area Walnut is a 4 star park. IN GENERAL based on our recent extensive travel experince Walnut is 3 stars. I stayed at Walnut RV Park for two months late last year. The park is located in Northridge and serves as a great hub for accessing areas all around greater Los Angeles. The park is nicely kept and offers a small laundry room on site along with a club house and pool/jacuzzi. During my stay, I had some problems with the onsite manager treating me badly and making huge mistakes in my electric bills. As a result of these incorrect electric bills, I incurred some expenses for having unnecessary work done on my RV. While the onsite manager made for a bad experience, the general manager took care of all the issues I had to my satisfaction. He handled things professionally and fairly. Best of all, he said they would be making some changes with the onsite management so these sorts of issues would not happen again. With the promised changes to onsite management, I would recommend Walnut RV Park to anyone who needs a place to stay in the San Fernando Valley area. Steven S. read more

I went here to ask about possibly renting out a space for my client. She just experienced domestic violence and we were working to get her away from that. We are lucky in that she has an RV. We were asking how much, the specifics about the process but as soon as we said we "had a client" they immediately shut us down. They wouldn't answer about the process, we just wanted to know if it was walk in or by appointment and the older woman kept talking over the younger girl there by saying "we aren't going to say that" or "we aren't going to make a promise on that" when all I needed was an answer on the procedure. I would go as far as to say they were rude and discriminatory and it was made clear that our client wasn't welcome there. I did property management for 18 years and I have never been treated as rudely as how this woman treated us. read more

In my opinion this park is not worth your time or the $1,200.00 a month plus electricity that they are asking for. The spots are tight and not easy to pull in. It is best to avoid the management as much as possible. Try to keep any conversation with Sue to no more than 10 minutes any longer than that you run the risk of her mentioning how her husband Mark is unable to fulfill her womanly desires due his bad back and it has nothing to do with her weight. Like we need to know or care about this. Eva runs the park like it's a concentration camp and she is a German Nazi. She treats the long term residents like they are Jews . My advice would be to park your RV at Walmart and stay in a local hotel. This way you know you won't get treated rudely or get ripped off. read more

I've been visiting the Walnut RV Park for at least 7 years. Having lived in the area many years ago, I'm aware of the attractions, driving conditions etc. If you're looking for a centrally located facility accessible to the San Fernando Valley, Hollywood and LA areas, consider Walnut. Google local business, shopping (Ex, Northridge Mall 1/2 block away), dining etc. No TV, but most sites are "Dish friendly" - ask for suitable locations. There's new management and I have high praise for Asst Mgr Sue -- ask for her. BTW, it's a good idea to call early - they're usually booked -- I've made that mistake too many times. You do NOT want to commute from distant locations to Hollywood etc :-( read more

Omg totally amazing I was in the states recently on holiday, traveling in an RV rental. I stayed at Walnut RV Park for a few days and Sue was very helpful and accommodating, even letting me use her mobile when mine ran out of battery. We've been staying here for years (2 weeks at Christmas/New Years) and find it to be very convenient to our daughter's home. The streets are kept up even though they could be a little wider in some areas. The facilities at the sites work well. Only negative: the site we are now in is very unlevel back-to-front and side-to-side. Lorraine signed us in, and is a very nice lady to work with. We'll be back for sure! JH read more

Jena and Beth were so nice. Liked Costco and Northridge Fashion mall so close. The park is so clean and peaceful. Loved the pool. Easy access to three freeways 101 Ventura, 405 San Diego and 118 Ronald Reagan. Try Hiking at Rocky Peak with beautiful views of the valley. It was fun hiking in the big boulders. Will visit Universal Studios next time. Great new rates!! Will be back for sure. read more

My husband and I stayed here for one week and then needed to extend for another week. The office staff, Dorothy and Sue were extremely accommodating and were able to extend our stay. The park itself was peaceful and very clean. The pool was lovely. The restrooms and showers were obviously well maintained and very clean. We will definitely come here again. read more

We stayed at Walnut RV for 3 nights. We were happy to see the COVID precautions they had in place and enjoyed our stay. All the staff wore masks and we were able to check the pool out for an hour so we had it to ourselves. The park had a central location close to everything we wanted to see. Wallnut rv park is a Nice small camping in los Angeles. The manager was very kind and hospitable. There was a Nice swimmingpool with sun and shade. The bathroom was good and clean. In the neighbourhood are supermarkts and places to eat. A visit to Hollywood is About half an hour drive from the camping. It was a nice stay. read more

I have a super nice remodeled 1996 class A and they refused to let me in because it is older than 10 years. I understand there are some junky RV's out there but this is not the case. They were unwilling to make an exception. read more
