    Entry way.

I've heard good things about this place for years but have never been in the area at the right time to stop by. Well, my husband and I stayed over night at Mystic Lake Casino on a Saturday night. Checked out on Sunday morning and thought... let's do brunch. Ah-huh...I have the perfect spot for us to try. Don't forget to write your name and number of persons in your party when you enter the door. One step up. But we did see a couple of customers work it just fine with their walkers- they appeared to be experienced in navigating the entry. We waited a few minutes for a table- just long enough to know what we wanted to order. Great friendly service, food and prices. Left very pleased. The kind of place you hope lasts forever.

Welcome to shakopee's best breakfast and lunch joint. Their staff is friendly, the vibe is old time diner, the portions are big, and the food is good! We LOVE their fries with a side of ranch, so crispy and the beer battered type of breading is so tasty. And as a lover of chicken wings, I get them almost every single time I come here! Fantastic sauces, big wings, and piping hot every single time. My boyfriend loves the omelettes, and my parents get pancakes with bacon and clean their plate. You won't be disappointed!

    Tots

The Reuben here is a home run with grilled rye bread, juicy and plentiful corned beef, and a good amount of sauerkraut although I prefer just a bit more. I ordered it with tots and really enjoyed those. I mean, tots are hard to screw up but it has been done. These were hot and crispy and perfectly cooked. Believe it or not, I have gotten tots at another restaurant and they were still frozen in the middle. I also tried the bourbon wings and requested flats and that's what I got! I looove flats and request them whenever possible so that was a welcome accommodation! The wings were meaty and delicious and that bourbon sauce was sticky and crave-able.

Good breakfast joint. Family owned and operated, friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. Stop in next time you are in Shakopee.

Great little diner with a classic menu that meets all expectations for the true American breakfast. Service was good and the food came pretty quickly. There was a nice atmosphere with probably a standard clientele for a weekend morning. The eggs Benedict spoke to me today and I enjoyed the tangy hollandaise with the rich eggs. I like just a little ham on mine, this had a significant stack of thin sliced meat though. Very tasty. I also really liked the crispy hash browns. Perfectly cooked. I was full and happy by the end. Absolutely a great breakfast.

We've brought countless friends here to try it and it's a heafty feat! You get around 40 to 50 pieces of shrimp, around 10 things of potatoes, six things of corn, and sausage too... it's humongous. You really get your moneys worth! If I'm being honest I haven't tried anything else here but I can assume it's equally amazing! I'm really looking forward to coming back here in the summer and enjoying this on their outdoor patio. But so far really love mallards and will always recommend it as it go to spot for anything seafood related! At our most recent stop our waiter was kind gave us lots of recommendations and was quick to refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything throughout our entire experience. This goes for each time we've been here, the service has always been wonderful. I find it this location really unique and it sits on upscale while also being able to be casual. Thank you Mallards for a wonderful time!

Every time I leave Crooked Pint, I just end up feeling... unsatisfied. It's not bad, but the food always seems to be missing that extra kick of flavor. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Mad Pepper Juicy Lucy, expecting something spicy but instead, it was completely mild and kind of bland. To make matters worse, the service was pretty slow and our server didn't seem very attentive. If you're just looking to grab a drink and maybe an appetizer during happy hour, it's fine for that. But if you're after a meal that really hits the spot, I'd say there are better options nearby.

They also have a wedding venue and curling arena attached so it is pretty busy every time but I have never waited more than 10 minutes for a table. Food: I got the loaded tater tots as an appetizer. I would say 4/5 for those, they were good I wish there was more bacon but the tot was stuffed with green onion and cheese then it came with queso and bacon on top. I would get them again. As my meal I got the lobster melt and it wasn't my favorite it didn't have as much cheese as I would want and felt like it lacked flavor. I think it would have been better with onions or like a sauce to dip it in. Service: it was a packed Saturday night but our server was attentive and very nice!

I imagine it would be really nice in the spring/summer as there is a horse track right outside of the restaurant which would provide a great view to a race. It definitely got a little loud just sitting inside They had a large variety of options to choose from on the menu. They also offered a great and surprisingly extensive Happy Hour Menu which we got there in time to take advantage of.  We got the burger and thought it was very tasty, we love a good caramelized onion. I thought it definitely needed some ketchup to balance out the heaviness of the onions and cheese with a little bright acidity. I also thought the patties themselves were very good, thin with a slight crisp to them with a soft bun and melty sauces and cheese. Since it was a happy hour option the burger did not come with any sides like it would have as an entrée. We also got fish tacos and we were a big fan of the slaw and pineapple mayo which brought a balance of sweet and savory to the dish. Only came with two tacos (at least for happy hour) which might not be enough food if you're hungry. The hot smoked salmon was one of the more unique items we tried. The salmon itself was super tasty - salty and smoky just what you want. They use the smaller scraps of salmon that wouldn't work in their Wood-Fired King Salmon entrée and incorporate it into this appetizer which is great sustainability-wise! The salmon came with a creamy ricotta, salty capers, crunchy crostini, and sweet and acidic pickled red onions. We liked this combination a lot but felt it could have used even more sweetness/acidity, maybe just adding a couple more onions to the dish. We really enjoyed the 'Garganelli' pasta dish. It was creamy and indulgent with pieces of lobster and freshly shaved parmesan on top. The chili added a really nice layer of heat but wasn't overpowering. The server was nice enough to split up everything we had over the evening to share (which explains the two small portions in the photo). MN Mule - 8/10 Pretty average but solid mule. However, it was served in a plastic spam cup which elevated the whole experience. Margarita - 9/10 Very good margarita - we were told it was a house made margarita not from a mix. Very bright and fresh flavors that definitely let the tequila shine. Overall would definitely recommend!
