Is this place perfect? Absolutely not. Is it charming and old school? Absolutely! Wampach's is what you'd imagine if you were in a small down looking for a dinner experience. While the food is nothing spectacular, the prices and the atmosphere can't be beat if you're looking for a hometown experience. Honestly, even if we go here in the afternoon I always order breakfast food. You can order most (if not all) of the breakfast menu all day. Note: This place always seems to be busy. If you're planning to go on a weekend, you will most definitely have to wait for a table. There really isn't a hostess, so check the hostess stand to see if there's a running list of names you put yourself on to get in line to be seated. read more

DISORGANIZED. I can't figure out what everybody is raving about? The food itself was very stereotypical greasy spoon fare. Not bad and not great. Our experience with getting seated and served this morning, on the other hand, was horrific. We waited 23 minutes (after being told 15 or less) to get a table. That's fine, it was breakfast time and it was packed. After being seated it was 32 MINUTES before anybody bothered to take our orders. Mind you, we had our menus all down and were talking for nearly that entire time, it was clear we had make our selections. What's worse is the waiter took another table's order before ours, who had been seated a solid ten minutes after us, THEN proceeded to head toward the 6 top behind us and try to take their order before ours also. Those folks had JUST sat down. I checked my watch again when the food arrived and it was officially 48 minutes from the time we were seated to the time food arrived. This is in a tiny diner with like 10 total tables. I was given the wrong potato. We had to ask twice for ranch. My coffee cup sat empty for most of the visit. All of the staff that I encountered were very friendly though! We ordered breakfast food and it was all good. Not great. Good. I did overhear several other patrons raving about certain menu items (more lunch or supper type items) so maybe if we try them again, we will go later in the day. read more

The food is good. The service is what I will continuously go there for. I just go and sit at the bar and chit chat with the people that work there and they're delightful. Very allergy conscious. Amazing, old-school blue plate diner with the best breakfast around. The only downside to this place is the wait time to get seated during peak hours (like mainly Sunday morning/brunch) and their "system" for hosting as they dont really have a permanent host, or a good way of estimating your seat time. It usually has taken us around 20-30 min and we usually have to walk in and write our own name down instead of them doing it for us. And the building itself is very small and cramped, so the waiting area is practically nonexistent. But other than that, it's really good. read more

This was my worst experience eating here. Normally the service isn't horrible, but today it was. Took them almost 30 minutes to take our order and another 40 to bring us our food. The kitchen lost our order. Got a halfhearted apology and had to retake our order. When our food came I still hadn't got my drink. Had to remind the waitress and she said she was making it now. Also forgot the bacon that I ordered. After all this, we became the forgotten customers. No refills, no checking in to see how our food was. Our absolute worst experience here. When we finally got the bill, it was full price. No discount, no offer of a free bakery item. Nothing. Not sure if we will go back after this. You feel like when you walk they the doors that you entered a different time era. There good is amazing and I feel the Onion Rings are made fresh not frozen . Amazing Hamburgers and fries as well. I've lived in Bloomington my whole life - and have driven past Wampach's COUNTLESS times (honestly, I thought it was a bar!) - But today (for my 50th birthday) my parents took me here for a birthday breakfast. MAN, HAVE I BEEN MISSING OUT!! I ordered the "Cajun Special" - and was SHOCKED at the portion of food I got! It all tasted SO GOOD too!! And, it wasn't just my "special" - my parents and sister all ordered "off menu" - and were all also shocked by the portions / taste / value. This is a hometown classic! If you are in Shakopee and have never gone to Wampach's you still new to town! The onion rings are the best thing on the menu and get a side of ranch with them! The rest of the food is pretty standard small dinner food! Down to making sure you leave almost to full! This is why it is on establishment that makes Shakopee great! Once a year we travel to Minneapolis for the Back To The 50's car show. Wampach's is our chosen breakfast spot. A true Mom&Pop that's fills up with the locals daily. I love old school cafe type places to eat. Wampach's is one of these cafes! Food is exactly what you expect and the service is wonderful. Some times you have to wait but it is worth it. I want to highlight something that happened just recently. I was seated and got my coffee, placed my order and while I was waiting the man next to me got up. He started looking for his wallet and couldn't find it. The waitress came back and he told her. Without even giving it any thought she grabbed his bill and said, "don't worry about it hon". Told him to not worry about it and to have a good day. That alone will keep me coming back again and again!! read more

We just love this wonderful small town, good cookin' kind of diner. Very small place so be prepared to wait. But not unnecessarily long. I had the biscuits and gravy both days! Added the wonderful side of hash browns on Sunday. So yummy! Good old time diner. Came for breakfast- great prices, good food and lots of it. It's your basic breakfast food, nothing special but solid. This is a small place with a nice parking lot. My Dad has a hard time entering with his walker since they had steps to get in. Go for the nostalgia of the diner. read more
