My fav sushi restaurant is on Ubereats !! I wad super excited to find out that now I can get some sushi delivered to my doorstep, and had to order something right away. I ordered Sushi combo B which include soup, salad, sushi and a roll. It was my first time to get sushi delivered and wasn't sure how it would turn out to be. And of course Waraii didn't turn me down ! The soup was still warm, salad was nice and crunch, and sushi and roll were firm and fresh. We ordered agedashi tofu, shrimp and veggie tempura, and ahi sashimi for appetizers. For entrees, we ordered the I Love You roll and the Samurai and Ninja roll for the adults and a shrimp tempura hand roll for my 3y/o. Everything arrived quickly, beautifully plated, and the fish was fresh and tender. We have been to several sushi/poke places in the area and by far this has been the best. We are from Hawaii where the fish is always fresh and great quality. This was on par with some of the best sushi places there. Sashimi is definitely worth trying here! read more

This place is SOOO GOOD. Went with my family after sky diving (which was also amazing!) and we loved everything about it. Small intimate vibe, our server was so nice, and the sushi was amazing of course. We shared a few rolls but our favorite was the crunch dragon and we also loved the salmon sushi and tuna sashimi. The restaurant was busy when we arrived at about 4 PM on a Saturday and there was only one server. She was so swamped and our food took over 30 minutes to come out. I know she was busy, but she never came by to even make sure we knew our food was coming or if our drinks were topped off. I frequented Warii when they were in a run down strip mall serving the best sushi in San Diego County at the lowest prices. Hey had 3 booths and two tables and 3 seats at the sushi bar. The only complaint is that everyone discovered them! They opened up this nice new location and kept the same prices for the first year. Spicy tuna rolls were $4.50 and the top level premium roll was only $7.50. Now the top roll went up a little more to $10 but still $6.00 below most other places! AND... Still the best sushi in San Diego! read more

The short of it: Good: Comparable prices, great rolls, tasty fish, real green tea. (not from a bag) Cons: Small, service was lack luster The long of it: This is a very small establishment with maybe 6 tables total. Our waiter was the sushi chef which made for less than attentive service. I would have liked a refill on my green tea but he was busy in the back while we were eating. We were the only people there so I can understand why the serving staff was nonexistent. The dining area was clean enough but if you went to the bathroom in the back you had to walk through a very cluttered corridor. Things looked clean albeit crowded so I didn't mark down for this - it's a small restaurant so they're forced to make due with what they have. Now for the food! We had the albacore delight and waraii roll. Both were very tasty and fresh. Average sized rolls with a good amount of fish. As others have mentioned they employee the "mark the prices as double and then say 50%" tactic. I don't mark down for this as I have literally not found a sushi joint around that *doesn't* employ this tactic. We ended up paying 7.50 and 8.50 for our rolls. The menu was some-what on the small side. They had all your standard rolls that you'd normally find (Crunchy, Philly, ect) and a couple unique ones. They had a lot of similar rolls. I saw four rolls that essentially were crab, eel, and eel sauce - the difference being whether the eel was inside or not, avocado, and the addition of tempura crab meat with the normal chopped up crab. There was not too many spicy rolls either. That being said the variety was still there to where most people could find what they were looking for. Despite the laid back/cozy atmosphere the food made this place jump to the top 3 for local sushi joints. Not nice enough to go on a date here but if you're looking to drop in for some really delicious rolls I'd highly recommend giving it a try, read more

The servers were very polite and professional and we got our food order pretty fast considering it was during dinner time. My only criticism for not getting 5 stars was the visual appeal. Service was horrible. I had lunch there with my mother and it took the server 15 minutes to come by and ask us for our food order but failed to ask us for drinks so I asked for water and hot tea which took another 10 minutes (it was never offered after we were seated) and another 20 minutes for our food order. The restaurant was not overly crowded, most of the people who was already there had their food on the table. A table of three people who were seated about 15 minutes after us was served 10 minutes before us. We didn't even order sushi and it took an unacceptable amount of time for our order. Two women seated next to me ordered before me but was served after me and my mother so their wait time was even longer than ours. I felt bad for them and we happen to leave at the same time and talked in the parking lot about our service They too said they would never come back to Waraii and I suggested to them to put a review in Yelp. The food was a notch below average so it was definitely NOT worth the wait. My mother's over cooked salmon teriyaki had some bones and a big chunk of cartiledge. My shrimp tempura was the same quality you would find in your typical Chinese/Japanese/Korean buffet. I ususally go to Mr. Pho, but I wanted a little change. I rarely play the race card but the table of three seated after us was likely Korean or Japanese (I'm assuming based on the language they were speaking). I'm Asian Pacific Islander and the table next to me were Latina. Coincidence? Pehaps. But I digress, since I had such a long wait time, those thoughts were stewing in my mind. I will never go back to Waraii Sushi for two reasons, the service is horrible and non-existing and second, Oceanside has way too many better sushi restaurants. read more

I came to this restaurant this past Friday (April 8th 2016), and I was beyond disappointed. I've come here on multiple occasions to order to go, and I've never had an experience like this. Usually I come in and order a few rolls, which are pretty good, the crab or imitation crab is amazing. The sushi rice, however, is extremely sour. It's almost overwhelming after a few bites. On this occasion, I ordered three California rolls to go. It took about 20 minutes for my order to be ready, and when I was rung up the waiter spoke to me for only a few moments "What's your name?" And "Thank you". It seemed like customer service was a bit lacking, but that's besides the point. I got home after picking up my order and I was glad to see that the styrofoam container contained both wasabi and ginger. The first container contained one roll, while the other container had the other two rolls. I ate the first roll just fine, but half way through my second I noticed a black speck on my roll. Curious, I thought, what could it be? Upon further inspection, I discovered it was a fly! A dead fly pressed into the side of the sushi rice. Very unappetizing and very unsettling. If there's a fly on the sushi, what else could be said about the cleanliness of the restaurant? This experience has definitely inspired me to take my business elsewhere, and I won't be returning. read more

Location, location,location ! They have moved and their new restaurant is trendy and modern. Bold colors on the walls and cool light panels. The wall behind the sushi bar is tiled and beautiful. The restaurant is clean and inviting. There are seven booth, 6 tables and 8 stools at the sushi bar. I used to eat at their other place and there's no comparison! Except that the food is still great and reasonable! The waitress was pleasant, kept my drink full and answered any questions I had. Since they have only been open a week, the owner said they will have more variety of fresh fish in a week or so. They have an eclectic menu of fresh fish, Korean and Japanese. I had sushi, salmon, Ono, yellowtail and a scallop hand roll. All fresh, all delicious. And white pickled ginger! Not that pink dyed stuff! That shows they care. They have a sink outside the bathroom as well as inside which I think is a great idea for those who just need to wash. Patio setting is a plus! I wish them big success. Check it out! I like the fact that I could find good sushi in the neighbor hood for my family of four for under $50 including 2 kids meals for my children. The place definitely had the hole in the wall feel, but according to the hand written signs posted on the windows they are planning on moving to a bigger location down the street on Oceanside Blvd. Btw not only do they offer sushi they do have a few Korean dishes as well which is a bonus. read more

Overall experience, not so great. Definitely a hole in the wall. Dirty floors and walls, flies everywhere. We had to move to a booth from our first table because the chair was so wobbly I thought it was going to break. No air conditioning. That being said, the food was great and our waitress was really nice, but overall I wouldn't go back. Go to Hana in Oceanside if your looking quality sushi at a great price. First off their online prices are completely wrong. Everything they have on their actual menu is $3 more expensive. They charged me $2 more for pan fried Gyoza, I've never seen any other sushi place do that. I ordered the Gyoza as an appetizer and ended up getting it after my sushi so I just took it to go. The sushi itself sucked! Then to top it all off they have rudest waitress. I asked for spicy mayo and sliced lemon and she gave me attitude and looked pissed off that I even asked. Then she brought me what i guess is their version of "spicy mayo", it was some kind of sauce or mayo with a dab of some kind of hot sauce. It tasted horrible.
