Recommended by a family friend and unfortunately it was gawd awful! Sushi that tastes fishy is never a good sign. Arrived around 6pm on a Saturday night to a very slow restaurant and no one sitting at the sushi bar. We were greeted and told we could sit anywhere in the restaurant. The Valero Golf tournament was on TV and not even sure why they had it on at all. Ordered (2) sushi combo meals and 1 grill combo Bento box meal. The (2) sushi dinners as well as Miso soup and salad served first, and our friend just watched us eat and waited some time for her grill dinner. The waitress said the kitchen was "backed-up" but there was no one in the restaurant! The positive: our friend's meal was hot, but we were contemplating taking it "to go" since it arrived 15 minutes after we were done with our other meals. Not worth the $50 we dropped for dinner, and it was just so-so. I hope it was a bad night for them, but I personally won't be repeating this experience any time soon. read more

I come for the food and put up with their service because the sushi is just that good. I always have to ask for water and a menu! Friendly environment. The food is great pretty good. The service can be slow. They don't take plates off our table after we eat appetizers or ask if we want refills on drinks. Either way the food is worth trying. Im not a huge fan of the fact that they put the roll platters all over our table without trying to remove our appetizer plates. Best sushi and prices in Oceanside. All of their rolls are good and they have a wide variety to choose from. Have seen them grow from their smaller past location to this one that is twice as big and is still packed. Heart attack, green tender, popcorn lobster, lovely gloria, and starfish are just a few of our faves. They also have good entrees like teriyaki chixken plates and tempura. Most rolls are under $10. Can easily get 2 rolls per person for under $20. read more

Me and my wife are regulars here, and we love it! One of the chef's is the owner and cares about the place a lot, he will go out of his way to correct a mistake if needed. The sushi rolls are the biggest and fullest around town for the price, and you definitely get what you paid for. The waitresses are amazing, with that said I would like to point out that no one is perfect but they try really hard all the time! I've been to many sushi places around and Go Go Japan that's across the street has nothing on this place! It did take me a while to find some items on the menu I like due to how picky of an eater I am. I hate to tell you guys how awesome they are because I don't want the secret about how awesome this place is to get out :). read more

My husband and I discovered this place last year when it was still fairly new. The prices here are more than reasonable, and the sushi is great! This is the only place we will go for sushi. My favorites are Lovely Gloria and Hawaiian. You won't find this good of sushi for that good of a price just anywhere. read more

Not bad for a mid-week drop in sushi fix. Servers and sushi chef were especially friendly, polite and efficient. Large portions and really reasonable prices. Try the Aloha roll, totally yum. The tuna tataki salad was delicious and fresh, but at $7.75 don't hope for nice soft maguro. Still a good deal and a generous portion. The downsides: the menu seemed to be dominated with items that had imitation crab. Maybe it's just me, but I go to sushi joints for fresh fish, not processed pollock. If you like 'krab', you will love this place. Parking sucks everywhere in this shopping center, so suck it up and please don't let it detract from your dining experience. As a regular to this restaurant 5-6 times per week, I am absolutely appalled at the service that I received today. I placed an online order for pick up and attempted to call the restaurant to verify the order (as I always do); no one answered, FOUR times I called the restaurant and FOUR times, no one answered. Odd, considering the restaurant advertises open hours on yelp, however, upon further investigation, the restaurant's website advertises hours starting at 430pm on Sundays. An hour and 20 minutes later, the server, Mia, calls to tell me my order is finally ready for pickup. When asked about the discrepancy in hours posted online, she simply stated those are old hours (maybe the restaurant should UPDATE THEIR WEBSITE TO REFLECT ACCURATE HOURS)! When asked why no one answered the phone FOUR times, if the establishment was in fact open, she stated she was TOLD TO NOT TAKE ANYMORE ORDERS BECAUSE THEY WERE BEHIND! I've NEVER been to ANY restaurant who doesn't answer the phone or REFUSES orders, ESPECIALLY ORDERS ALREADY PLACED ONLINE AND ALREADY PAID FOR! You don't refuse orders to customers and you certainly don't refuse to answer the phone! That is HORRIBLE business!! You simply explain to your customers that the order will take a little longer than anticipated! Communication is key!!! The customer service today was unacceptable and completely unprofessional, ESPECIALLY for a regular at this establishment. I will NOT return again and will now be finding a new sushi joint to frequent. read more
