I took my mom here for an exam and glasses. The Dr. was super patient as my mom was a bit complicated. She took her time with the exam and made sure everything was dialed in. Came about 2 weeks later to pick up the glasses . Danielle is the besssst!!! She really took her time and had a ton of patience. she is also sooo knowledgeable. They have a wide selection of frame styles...nothing trendy. it's always fun to try on all of the different frame styles. The other staff members were also super nice. Parking in the garage opposite Whole Foods is closest to them- with 90 minutes free...we were able to get in and out without any charges. read more

The salesperson gave me incorrect information about my VSP plan reimbursement, which raised concerns about their commission-based approach. I typically have a pleasant experience when I walk into this store with a smiling sales associate approaching me and asking me if I need any assistance today. Today on the other hand I was surprised when I walked in and no one approached me. There were 3 sale associates and they were all with customers which is understandable however a quick "we will be right with you" would have been appreciated. After some time, a sale associate approached me. She did not introduce herself or smile at me when approaching. She looked unhappy and said "what did you need" with some attitude. I had came today for a gift for my husband and needed some sunglasses. Upon the transaction, she asked for my email address out of nowhere and failed to prefix by saying something along the lines of "let me help you with your purchase today, we do need an email address to proceed". I am cautious about providing my email address nowadays because we all know how much spam we get when we give your info out. She then proceeded and gave me some response which was rude and not demonstrating decent customer service. At the end of the transaction, I asked for a paper and gift receipt. She did not immediately response. There was a long awkward pause and then she finally responded and said she would go get it. After handing me the receipts, my purchase was on the table and there was a white folded up linen on the table. She never even told me that was a bag for me or placed my item in the bag and hand me the bag like a normal store. Overall, I had an unpleasant transaction experience. Customer service is extremely important to me as a customer. And it makes me think twice about returning. I believe the sales associate was named Danielle (I had asked for her name). read more

Very disappointing experience all around. I went in for my appointment and had my contact lens exam, during which I was told that many people my age start to have trouble reading things close up. I was tested for this, and then told that my up-close vision was totally fine. The optometrist then wrote me a prescription for bifocal glasses anyway, and reduced the strength of my contacts to address this non-existent nearsightedness issue. I opted out of the bifocal glasses and still have no idea why that was prescribed. I asked to have a trial pair of the new contact prescription before I spend hundreds of dollars on something I've never worn... this was a common practice at my old optometrist. They told me they didn't have samples for whatever reason and I'd need to wait a few weeks for them to order some. These finally arrived and I had to drive over from Huntington Beach to get them and they seemed fine so I went to order a year supply online. I then received an email that the optometrist wrote me a subscription for the OLD version of my contacts and needed to re-write it for the NEW version she'd given me as a sample. As it turns out, Warby Parker stores don't accept inbound phone calls, so I had to call their support line, and they had to then send an email to the 2nd & PCH location so that someone could then call me back. There is no direct way to communicate with this store which is a horrible method of Customer Support. So after playing phone tag with them, someone finally called me and said they would have my prescription fixed & that if I left my credit card number with them they would save me the trouble of placing the fixed order. A few days later, seeing no such charge on my card, I did this phone tag game again to connect with the store and they charged my card, and confirmed my fixed prescription info. A few days later, I got my contacts in the mail and it is THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION. I don't even know how this happened but they ordered my old prescription "D" strength with a completely different CYL. And of course, I am now trying to get in touch with someone over there because I have 2 usable contacts left & this has now taken nearly 6 weeks to get my prescription sorted out. No one is replying to my messages and I'm going to have to drive over there in the rain to talk to someone in person. I've been pretty patient until now, but this is awful you guys. read more

The optometrist was excellent. This review is about customer service from the store staff and rebates. I was told that I could easily receive a rebate from Acuvue for $250 and $100, which resulted in me purchasing more contact lenses than I would have. They did not provide me with the documentation that supported the rebates, so I had to contact Warby Parker customer service- who referred me back to acuvue, and then Acuvue informed me that I was not eligible for the $100 rebate. So, my advice is to be careful about what they tell you about rebates and confirm that you will be able to receive them before you make your purchase. read more

I walked in just to try on glasses and didn't intend to do anything else, but an optician sold me on getting my vision exam that same day (deductible higher than expected) and he also sold me on getting high index lenses with blue light filtering. If I bought Warby glasses again (this would be my second pair), I would have gotten high index lenses anyway due to my higher vision and I don't want the glasses to feel too heavy on my face. But I was pretty iffy about blue light filtering and the extra $50 cost. I gave in have some persuasion, and about 5 minutes after the transaction was done, I met up with my boyfriend who immediately warned me about the tinted lenses that came with blue light filtering. I went back to the same optician to try to modify my order, but he said it wasn't possible since it was an expedited shipment. He also reassured me that the tint wouldn't be noticeable, so I went on with my day. Shipping was crazy fast and turns out my new glasses had a green tint that made my whole world slightly greener. Every time I took them off, I can see everything around me was actually warmer in color. I couldn't get used to it, even after going to another Warby location to make adjustments to the arms. So after a few weeks, I went back to this Warby location with my boyfriend to adjust his sunglasses, and on a whim just mentioned my tinted glasses to a different optician there. He informed us that typically high index lenses already had some blue light filtering and they wouldn't have advised combining the two. Apparently it's not a well-known fact but the first optician should have been aware. So this different guy was able to help me immediately by recreating my expedited order but without the blue light filtering. And I can mail my green tinted glasses back in the same box! My new glasses came early just in time for my trip abroad, and they are perfect! No more green tint and I didn't need to adjust the arms to fit my face either. I did not have a great feeling leaving Warby after my first experience with the very sales-y optician, but the next guy far made up for it through his understanding and helpfulness. I got something greasy on my glasses at work and couldn't function, so I found this place, right down the street. I ran over there and the nice employee was able to clean my glasses for me and told me to use straight rubbing alcohol if that happened again. In an era when it seems like customer service has gone out of style, I'm so pleased when I receive the level of assistance I received from the staff at Warby Parker (Long Beach location). Dr. Mak was friendly, patient and explained every step of my eye exam. She made some excellent suggestions and made me feel at ease. She performed a more extensive exam than I've received at any other place and has a very pleasant manner. I can't say enough about Terry who helped me with my frames. Judging by his considerable knowledge of their product I might conclude that Warby Parker employees go through some rigorous training to be able to rattle off so much information with such ease. The remarkable thing about my experience with Terry is that he was genuinely excited to answer my questions. He geeked out with me when it came down to selecting this frame over that frame, this lens over that lens, and all the other amenities. I look forward to that same level of service when I return to pick up the finished product. I was also shocked at the price. I don't have vision insurance; I was expecting to pay around $850ish for what I selected (I got all the bells and whistles that eyeglasses can have) but it turned out to be just under $400! I haven't been to other locations so I can't speak to this being the culture of the company as a whole but I sincerely recommend this location. Worst service ever. . . Walked in excited to purchase some glasses, but immediately thrown off by lack of customer service. No one greeted us, offered to help, at some point we just had to use our own devices ( while inside the store) on the website just trying to find a different color when someone else walked in and both staff members working ( guy with glasses and woman with pink hair) offered to help them, while we had been the ONLY ONES trying different pairs for a solid 15 minutes. So I finally asked the woman with pink hair to see if they had black in stock of a frame I really liked and she seemed annoyed that I asked she came back with the glasses I said thank you and she walked away not a response. I ended up going outside with my partner and I ordered the glasses I liked through the website instead, so don't know if they are just racist, or hate their job but it was messed up. read more

Went to go get new prescription and sunglasses here! There was a young gal that helped me very friendly and kindly! My insurance allows me to order two glasses: one pair of prescription and one sunglasses prescription. When i tried to use my insurance, the guy at the front said he's never heard of an insurance allowing two pairs of frames and tried to get me to pay out of pocket. I went on the website today, and it allowed me to get both with the insurance discount! Just be wary if trying to use insurance in store, i'd try online first. Good selection though! read more

The service and people are always great. It's the actual glasses that suck. Every pair I have bought has issues. Bad scratches after 3 months, screws coming loose and losing them, and 1 pair even snapped in half down the middle. They never last me a full year. I keep trying with this brand but they just fall apart. And I'm not doing anything really to make them fall apart other than normal use. Disappointing. read more

Great folks very helpful. Got progressive lens after seeing their ophthalmologist and had them in less than 2 weeks. With my insurance I paid about $400. So far I am getting a lot of compliments on the glasses and oh I came back and ordered sunglasses (single-vision) and paid $200. Same great staff to help me. Only 4 not 5 because they need more options I think. But go if you need a pair. read more

Deon was very nice , as are all the employees I've encounter here . I found a great pair of glasses that I loved and they were only $95.00.Unfortunately the lab got my progressives wrong twice . So ultimately it was just a waste of my time ... I also don't like that you cannot call and speak to anyone onsite , you get a call center who claim they cannot transfer your call but offer to take a message for you . This compounded my problem as I'm Very busy during normal business hours and can't always answer my phone when they are able them to call me back I had to go buy glasses elsewhere , the good news is it was right the first time ! Such a great spot! Easily made an appointment online for an eye exam. When I showed up it was quick to get jnside and the exam was easy and the doctor helped me find my new lenses. Finding glasses was easy and the staff was super helpful. I was done within 30 minutes!! That included getting there, getting my exam, picking out my glasses and paying/setting up for delivery. Never going anywhere else! Also, the aesthetic of the shop was super cute and clean. Absolutely loved all of the frame choices. read more

This place is small but has everything you need. They are going the extra mile during COVID to keep their customers and employee safe. They have a very good selection of frames and the overall process is easy. Wish they supported insurance claim submittals but they do not. Basically $99 for most frames and basic lenses. You need to watch out for the upselling for coatings or blended bifocals as that will drive prices a lot higher. Neat location on the entrance to Balboa island. read more

Pretty neat store and the staff is super nice. They go above and beyond to help you out find the perfect glasses for you. They're very friendly and the whole process is super quick. They're open 7 days a week Plus this location is located on the 2nd & PCH open mall and you even get free parking! Once you order your glasses they will mail them to you and you'll receive them within a week or so. I originally visited this business to obtain a new prescription for eyeglasses. I found the store disorganized and the staff unclear as to who should be served in what order. When I ordered glasses, they apparently just took the sample off the shelf and failed to measure my head. The glasses arrived too large to stay on, and the WP staff scolded me on my next visit since I "should have ordered medium." Kinda their job, no? The glasses were quite pricey at over $500, which shocked me, but there they were. I foolishly returned to the store for a consult on getting contacts, since they had my prescription now. They gave me a future appointment, then promptly changed it. Two days before, I got a call from HQ, warning me of severe consequences if I should fail to (a) appear 10 minutes late for some "test," or (b) complete a Medical History form in advance. Apparently, WP is not able to check your vision unless they know whether your brother or grandmother had cancer or if you're allergic to scallops. My work history and marital status were apparently also important, since eye strain might be caused by too much computer time or the need to "keep an eye on" your spouse. Not surprisingly, my prompt (early) arrival for my appointment resulted in no secret preliminary "test" of any kind, and I was seen a full 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment. The optometrist took no measurements of my eyes nor conducted any vision test. She spoke to me of "modalities" in contact choices and left me totally confused. I spent another $75 for this visit, and have neither contact lenses in hand nor on order as WP lacked the appropriate samples from which to work. Or something. They'll call. They will reach me somewhere deep in the Third Circle of Hell, which should be the mailing address for Warby Parker. read more

I had a great experience at Warby Parker! Before stopping in the actual store, I ordered a few frames through their try-on program and found a shape that I liked. I went close to opening time and there was no wait, but I did notice that as I was in the store, more people started to come towards the store. I would definitely recommend going earlier rather than later as there aren't any appointments for in store shopping, so you just get added to a waitlist. As for safety, Warby Parker did a phenomenal job. Masks are required, and only two parties are allowed in the store at once. The store is split up into two sides, and each side has the same selection of frames so you don't miss anything. I was able to find the frames I liked and ordered a pair with a sales associate there. My glasses were shipped right to me and they've been fantastic. I would definitely recommend Warby Parker for glasses! Although they weren't in network for my VSP insurance, it was much cheaper to buy them at WP and submit an out of network reimbursement than getting a pair in network at my eye doctor. read more

Me and my girlfriend had a horrible experience at the Long Beach store. She was being hit on continuously by a middle-age male employee. How could people be pursuing her so inappropriately, she said "it didn't even make sense". "Where do these guys get off?". When the glasses came, we wound up having to get the glasses fitted, and drove all the way to the Studio City store to avoid this inappropriate unprofessional who should be fired for his transgressions. The bill I received was not clear at the time so I went back into the store. we made a change and I was still supposed to receive the glasses. Turns out my order completely got refunded and never mailed to me. it's frustrating to have to go into business numerous times it should've been handled correctly the first time.
