    glasses with included lens cloth

Although Warby Parker as a store is very aesthetically beautiful, and the glasses are stylish/minimalistic, ultimately it's a retail experience and lacks in clinical expertise typically found in a more traditional optometry business. I had a few issues with my experience. 1) There was a mixup with scheduling. I called to make an appointment and spoke with someone I believe schedules for multiple Warby Parker locations (does not work at the physical site). I scheduled an appointment for 3:15pm, but she ended up scheduling me for 2:15pm. So when I showed up at the store, I was told I missed my appointment and had to wait until 4:30pm when the optometrist was available again. 2) The sales associates are not well-trained on vision benefits coverage or contact lens rebates. I provided my vision insurance information and was told that I had a benefit for both glasses and contact lenses, so after my optometry visit, I ordered both. Days after my appointment, I received a call that my vision coverage was for glasses OR contacts, so I had to reduce my contacts order by half, since I wasn't planning to play for everything out of pocket. In addition, while onsite I asked for information about contacts rebates (for Acuvue). I was told I would be eligible for a rebate, but when I went to the Acuvue site to enter my information, with proof of purchase, I found out that I was ineligible for the rebate because I was not a "new customer" (I had purchased that type of contacts before). 3) There were additional inaccuracies with my transactions. I received a call after my appointment letting me know that I was mistakenly not charged for my contact lens exam, so needed to provide payment information. Again, this has to do with sales associates not understanding vision coverage, as I was told after my appointment that my insurance covered the exam cost. After this experience, I'm going to go back to a more traditional optometry clinic. The "hip aesthetic" isn't worth the headache of these administrative hassles and errors in billing.

I have a Warby Parker location close to where I live, but I have never enjoyed my visit there, and I come out of my way to visit this location at Bishop Ranch.

The doctor was friendly, thorough, and took the time to make sure my prescription was comfortable. When I shared feedback about how my glasses felt, the team worked with me to make adjustments until everything was right. I also had some issues with one pair of glasses (that wasn't their fault), and they went above and beyond to help me find a resolution. Their customer service has been excellent, and they truly care about their patients. I highly recommend Optical Illusions for both eye exams and glasses!

These are $500 lenses that I will have to live with for years, so comfort matters. They told me the lab had already started making the lenses and the order could not be changed, this was less than 24 hours, maybe they move too fast and should consider a 24 hour time gap to allow to customer changes, which probably happens many times. They did offer to cancel the order and gave me a full refund, which I appreciate, and the representative was knowledgeable and helped me pick the right type of lenses. This is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 1. What I do not understand is why they refused to place a new order for the corrected lens size when I was ready to reorder immediately. Instead, they simply cancelled the order and sent me on my way. In other words, they would rather lose the sale than work with a customer who is trying to correct something reasonable less than 24 hours after placing a $500 order. That kind of inflexibility is not what I expect from a business that claims to provide personalized optical service. I will never go to them again.

However, every time I've entered the building, the interactions feel cold and unwelcome and the glasses buying process always feels like an ordeal and turns out to be way more expensive than other shops in the area. Couple that with my wife's recent experience where a blue light tint was applied to her glasses, as has been done by them in the past, but this time came with a visible yellow hue that altered the colors in the room which was unpleasant and unwanted. When she took them back, she said it's not right, and the receptionist laughed from the other side of the room when she asked if they could get a refund for the blue light portion. WORSE, the new lenses they put in her existing glasses were not done correctly and you could see a portion protruding from the bottom of the frame. As she was driving, the entire lens snapped and she's left without glasses after spending a lot of money on a new set of lenses. But because she wanted to use her existing frame, they will not cover it and we are now SOL. Will be searching elsewhere for a new pair knowing how unhelpful they would be if we were to bring them back in.

My visit with Dr Na was outstanding from start to finish. Dr Na was incredibly thorough and very patient. He explained each step about my cataract surgery and my eye examine that followed. I had also mention to him about my swollen eye lids which I had asked another doctor before with no avail ...but Dr Na took the time to ask me questions and made sure I understood my options. I left feeling confident and informed about my eye health. I truly appreciate the personalized attention and highly recommend this office to anyone looking for exceptional eye care !! I went for contact lens prescription and I told my husband to go somewhere else in San Ramon. 1. They will charge you $25 putting on and off lens practice fee. NOT AN OPTION (Confirmed with staff). My husband didn't need to pay for this at a different place in San Ramon. 2. You wont be able to get your lens prescription for a week until you do the trail for a week. My husband got it the day of. 3.You should ask if you can get prescription for the brand you want ahead. I was given "My day" without letting me know. I was okay because I had no preference but it was concerning they didn't tell me. My husband's place asked him what brand he want. 4.If you want gas perm lens, look elsewhere. This place will cost me $300-$400 per staff if she did her job to really looking into it vs other 3 places will charge only around $120 (I called my previous optometry in Castro Valley) 5. Unprofessional staff. Two ladies except the front lady had attitude, didn't seem professional at all. Every thing was pretty sloppy job and attitude. Even with a smile on her face, she seemed not enjoying her job. Very sloppy. From how she taught during practice, didn't look like she was seriously looking up my patient cost for gas lens (because there is such a huge difference in cost compare to other 3 places), giving only 5 days trail when she have to give 7 days, I asked for the glass prescription and she didn't send me when she said she will, etc. Also when I asked again about the practice not being an option, one of the lady at the desk said something like "tell your husband, You don't want me to see??" laughing. Thought that was very insulting and disrespectful. Ive been using glass, soft contact and hard contact lens for over 30 years. Got prescription from other places almost every year. I moved to San Ramon. This is the worst place Ive been. Dr Na was great. Very unfortunate.

Originally, I chose the latter option but was notified after a week that the lens crafter opted not to attempt the job. When I met Dennis and described to him my issue, he immediately took "interest in the challenge". He examined my frames meticulously and detailed out to me the specific work necessary to fit the lenses into my frames. I quickly felt comfortable knowing that I was finally dealing with someone who was personally experienced in crafting lenses. Samantha made the shop very welcoming and I felt in good hands. Dennis straightened out some bends and hand crafted the lenses for perfect fit. My glasses were returned with new lenses and looked balanced as if new. Thank you so much for the specialized work!
