My wife and I have moved numerous times during the last 35 years (MA to CA to AZ to TX and back to MA). We never had to file a claim for any of our moves until the very last one with Ward North American out of Austin Round Rock Texas. At least 30 of our household items including fine art, ceramics, lamps,, clocks, antiques, etc. etc were destroyed or seriously damaged. We've attached a few photos to help you discern how poor a job was done by Ward North American in packing, storing and moving us from TX to MA. Again, this was the first time we felt compelled to file a claim and, what we learned in the claim process, is that the deck is stacked in favor of Ward and unfair to its clients. We heartily recommend that no one should choose to rely on Ward North American unless they're willing to overpay for the project and be underpaid for the damage they cause to your belongings. read more

Horrible experience. Moved with them from the Midwest to the East Coast. I expected a few things to be dinged or slightly damaged but I had a safe broken open and belongings missing. When confronted, I was told it was my mistake for moving a safe. We had several things damaged, a few missing and the crew moving us in could not put any of our furniture back together. This company is over priced for the sub par service they provide. This company was recommended to me through the Army's transportation office, and I could not have been more disappointed. This company's truck showed up late to my house and I had men standing around my house for hours waiting on the truck to show up. When the truck hadn't shown up for 4 hrs., these men decided they needed to move on to another job. My job could have been completed in one day, but they took two days and the communication on what was going on was terrible. My items were delivered on the day they said they would be, but no one called to inform me they were on the way to my new house. I was staying with friends that lived 30 mins from my new house. I received a call at 8;00am telling me they were at my new house ready to unload! Again, communication with this company is terrible. My items were damaged in the move. I will be submitting a claim and will update this review on how that process is handled. For now, I advise you to seek another company. read more

Absolute nightmare. I specifically set my move dates so my order would arrive when I started a new lease in a new state. Everything was confirmed before I paid, then I handed over almost 5k before my order even left my starting address. About a week later I got a call saying my order would be delivered a MONTH later than the contract stated. After many many phone calls I got them to reconfirm my original delivery date, but then the shipper lost my order, re-found it, then shipped it to a different local agent than what was on the contract. I have no idea how damaged my stuff will be, but I just want it to arrive at this point. read more

We were moved from California to Georgia and all of our items except our Star Trek collectibles made it here. They took the label tag from the collectibles box and applied it to another. So months later, we have neither been compensated or had our lost items found. I guess in this case, someone wanted it and took it. So I would NEVER use them again. read more

We had a great experience with Ward North American. We moved during the Covid pandemic, so things were done a bit different. The walk through with the consultant was via FaceTime. We got the quote back quickly and were able to make a decision. The movers showed up on time and were very fast. The truck arrived at our new home in a different state earlier than we expected. Everyone was very professional and courteous. We realized a piece went missing while unpacking and before we could claim it, the driver actually called us to make arrangements to get it to us once he found it. It was my son's, so he was very happy about that. The only hiccup was that we had changed our pick up and delivery dates and the fridge disconnect and reconnect had the old dates. Not a huge deal, the crew took care of it. I've actually recommended them to family and friends that are moving too, so I'd definitely recommend them to strangers. read more

We have been moved by Ward North American 3 times. The first 2 were by the same crew and driver. Excellent results. So we decided to use the same company for a move from Pflugerville to Ardmore. Worst move ever! My Craftsman miter saw was placed in what they call a movers box. It is a large heavy cardboard box that they put on a dolly to move. On top of the miter saw were sledge hammers, an axe, 2 tractor sprinklers, a heavy metal pry bar, the miter saw stand and a small ladder. Zero packing on anything. More like you would take junk to the dump. The other "movers box" had my Charbroil propane cooker on the bottom with all kinds of yard tools like shovels and rakes and other tools thrown on top. Again not one blanket or piece of paper. We had one small cabinet with paper plates, cups, plastic forks & spoons and napkins. That small cabinet of stuff ended up in 5 or 6 different boxes. 12 red glass goblets were scattered in 5 boxes. They emptied containers and filled them with other stuff and the lids to the containers were scattered in different boxes. One box said coffee and there was nothing to do with coffee in the box. My brother made my wife some walnut lamps in shop class 51 years ago. They were in a box with a metal DVD player, a metal vhs player, a heavy radio and a computer monitor. After not being able to find the pendulums for 2 grandfather clocks, I opened a box marked Christmas and found them. One headboard had a wooden cross piece completely ripped off. The headboard was cracked and the bolts that they left in it were bent and unusable. We now have some nice scratches on a brand new floor because they slid a heavy dresser without using a blanket under it. So if you are thinking about moving I would consider almost anyone else. read more

Brad and his crew in San Antonio were awesome! We highly recommend them. They are all very nice and easy to talk to. To call them hard workers is an understatement and you never saw any complaining from them. They got busy and took great care with our household goods. We spent a total of 5 days with them moving to Houston and we were a little sad to see them go. Best movers we have ever had and the ladies back at the office were great too. read more

Take Caution*** We utilized this company to move from Texas to Pennsylvania. At first everything seemed competent until the receipt of the items and time to file a claim. Sadly we had several items damaged and lost within the move and of course received the "We don't take responsibility for your lost items" statement. We had to file a claim for almost $2500 worth of lost and damaged goods receiving a whooping check for $18 dollars and no acknowledgment from the company if they had even made an attempt to locate our items on the truck used. The guys who delivered our stuff seemed fine, however I watched as they let another's home goods including a mattress sit uncovered in the rain getting soaked for several hours while they unloaded my items and then on 3 occasions attempted to provide me with someone else's goods. Funny thing was after "all" items were off the truck I inquired if there was anything else on the truck as it seemed full. I was informed twice that all items were off the truck and separated according to pick up and drop off. Well if that was the case, why did I almost get someone else's items? So truck left and I was left to do inventory with my 3 year old. Behold, missing items and of course told to file a claim. Which we did, and after claim submitted was informed because i did not identify there were missing items at the time of receipt 400+ boxes give or take, WARD was not responsible. So not only were we charged for the transport of these missing items from Texas to PA, we also would receive to assistance in locating them. Moving cost $6500 Lost/damaged items $2500 Total Move Expense = $9000 - $18 (claim check) = $8982 I understand we take risk using a company like this for moving but how do items simply go missing off a truck that does not supposedly stop at any other location between receipt and delivery. We pick trust in this company only to be proven not to trust anyone else with our family goods. Where are my items? read more

From our very first contact with Ward, they have been polite, professional, quick, and there's always been excellent communication. They packed all of our belongings, loaded everything onto trucks, and delivered it into storage. Almost a year later, the same guys who moved us out of our Houston home, repacked our items into trucks, drove from Houston to Colorado, and even arrived a day early. They unloaded everything, nothing was broken, and the whole process was perfect. Since 2000, we've moved 4 times with different moving companies, and Ward was hands down, the best. If we move again, which I hope we don't, we will definitely use Ward again. read more

Ward North American This is an extension of my nightmare of a move with Allen and Coles North American Portland Maine. After dealing with the uncertainties of my shipments being delivered, Ward came through. The crew showed up with Ryan being the Quality manager in charge. I will say I wish the crew and this franchise moved me from the start. Ryan and his crew showed up at 8am and did not leave until job was done. No leaving at 3pm ;) Ryan and his crew were both professional and efficient. When they arrived in the morning, the first thing Ryan said to me was he was sorry I had to go through the stress and that in all his years of this business, he had never experienced such a sloppy job and that he would do his best to take care of us. They took lots of pictures of their own before unloading truck and I don't blame them one bit! It's pretty bad when even the VP for this franchise stopped by my house and personally apologized and he said more than once ......he's never seen a job this unorganized. He personally went over inventory lists with me which was A COMPLETE MESS AND circled all inventory that is missing and did not show up. This crew worked hard on 2 very HOT 102 degrees DAYS!!!! They took one lunch break, ate and went right back to work. They were extremely accommodating and sensitive to my anxiety attacks as I saw my furniture and belongings being unloaded from truck completely busted, damaged, and or scratched up. The entire crew was patient and polite the entire time. The icing on the cake is that after they were done, they shook my hand and said if I need help moving anything, call them and they will come help. They also made TWO(2) trips back to my home to remove all the debris of boxes and wrapping. There was quite a bit since this was a 2 truck move ;) I move every 2/3yrs and I will most definitely call upon Ward again and I will highly recommend this Franchise of North American Van lines as this is how every move should be. read more

I have a very complicated set of moves going on, and I've completed the first one. I am very pleased about how flexible the scheduling has been, and with how the team worked with me to get the costs to within my budget. The move was originally scheduled to take two days, but the movers happily did it all in one day when they realized it was not too much stuff. Everyone had positive attitudes and worked hard, but were also very personable. We all had a great time. All my items arrived in great shape, too. read more

This company will totally screw you. They damage things and lose things and then won't pay you what it's worth. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY! There are complaints about them all over the internet. Just do the research. Don't be fooled by them. They completely ripped me off - cost me a fortune and then, with a smile on their faces, told me they would take care of things. The estimate was thorough, and I received frequent followups and updates throughout the entire move process. Also, the staff worked with me to get the moving date I wanted. We had a mixed experience with Ward. The staff with Ward that we interacted with directly were friendly, prompt, and professional. However, our actual move had several issues. We ended up with several broken items and one of our boxes was lost. Despite paying for full insurance, North American refused to reimburse us for the missing box. These issues may be more related to North American than Ward, but I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Try United, Mayflower, or a local company. read more
