Sam was incredibly helpful in creating a vegan-friendly, protein-packed meal. Most places don't allow protein substitutes, but she suggested using chickpeas in their teriyaki rice box, and let me tell you, it was delicious and satiating. War fuel kitchen is a local business with three locations. This is the downtown location off of Maine and second in the Dunbar community center. If you just type in their address, it doesn't put you in the right spot. You have to park in the parking lot off of Main Street and then walk around to get to the entrance. Today, I thought I'd pick up a few things for lunches this week and some wellness shots for my husband and I was coming from an unfamiliar direction and I was lost and sent off course down 2nd Street since my last review, I've tried some of their made to order smoothies and boy. What a treat. I like the peanut butter and jelly protein smoothie very much. They've updated the look of their menu so it's much better lit when it was previously written out by hand and now it's just much more professional with pictures. The location is very small, but there is seating and a microwave, to heat up and enjoy any of the prepped meals out of the refrigerated cases. I feel that their prepared meals are generous size and usually have trouble eating the whole thing and try to just eat half, saving the other half for lunch the next day. I believe each entrée is $11 and they're made in the morning and they put on their expiration date so if you buy it take it home you know you'll need to eat it in a few days. The labels on the meals are color-coded, and so if you are looking for certain types of meals, look on their website and I'll give you a color key based on the type of diet you're following on which meals to pick. Since I am allergic to celery and fennel, I know that those ingredients are none of their meals and so I know I can safely eat without worrying about allergies. Taking that into account, I love their chipotle meatloaf; a dish that typically has celery mixed in. Amazing, above and beyond service! Staff helped me to create a vegan option that was soooo good! Would absolutely do again! My partner loved his teriyaki bowl. They make everything from scratch in house and don't use any seed oil! Iconic!! We also each got a juice that was refreshing. They also gifted us a chocolate truffle which was fireee! They have these protein ball truffles in their grab and go area that I'd deff recommend. Ambiance is great. Only 6 seats inside though. Check this place out! read more

I've been incredibly impressed with Warfuel Meals! The food is consistently delicious and healthy, making it easy to stick to my fitness goals. I especially love their Truffle Burger meal - it's flavorful, and satisfying. Meals are made fresh daily and consist of either Classic or Clean. Classic meals are a healthy blend of lean protein, fresh vegetables, and starches, and the Clean meals are (low carb) A healthy blend of lean proteins. Meals range from $10-$13 but deals are available if you but 6 or more. Pressed juices are also made daily and sell for $6 each or 2 for $10. This was a very positive experience with the staff being kind enough to explain Classic or Clean meals and even giving me some advice on guidelines for healthy eating. I've been ordering meals here for a few weeks now and enjoy the meals. The Sririracha chicken bowl was too spicy for me though. I don't really like the flavor of the birria that much either. I really wish they offered more fish and seafood options. They are almost always out of the shrimp or fish. I also wish they offered bacon on the side for the many dishes that have bacon. It seems like that would be an easy update since they are all usually topped with bacon crumbles anyway. There are alot of dishes with bacon, and I don't eat pork, so the ones I can eat are getting repetitive. read more

I have tried food from their in town location listed here. In 3 days, they will have a Grand Opening at their new location in the NW across from the Tucson Mall, next to the health services store on the WEST side of Oracle. I recommend checking out their website warfuelkitchen.com. The food is prepared to go, or to eat right there. The NW store is nicely decorated and they have an outside set of patio furniture outside if you prefer. Food is eclectic, original, minimally processed, and well portioned. Take home or have them heat it for you. Out of many tests of the food, I either liked or liked a LOT their offerings. Both locations will be happy to help you choose from their offerings. Everyone's preferences are different. I just happen to be a foodie and willing to explore. Whatever, the food is highly nutritious and filling. Food can be ordered on line. Wow! Really tasty premade food that's actually healthy?! So far I've tried the plant based roasted veg bowl, the buffalo chicken ranch bowl, the MacArthur chicken, the burrito bowl and a few others. ALL of them were delicious. They're also very filling because of the veggies and balanced macros. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the breakfast crunchadillas, they're a bit dry. Love the sauces they include with most meals, but I wish I had an option to add/pay for extra sauces. I relied on Warfuel earlier this year, for about a month, when I was going through grief from a variety of life events. Having healthy, premade food I didn't have to think about really helped me and was worth the price. Pick-up is quick and easy too. They do have a few tables & microwave if u want to eat on site. For me, I grabbed 3 different BOWLS & Brought them home to heat. Good portion, decent price ($10.50 each) Good ingredients, healthy tasty real food. The BOWLS change often, there are lots to choose from - Birria Ramen, Mex Chicken, and Apple Pulled Pork were the 3 we tried. Lots of tasty veg & tasty meats. They do make fancy avocado toasts (12.95 ea) and green drinks, and protein balls, crunchadillas. I thought it was great, easy, healthy bowl style eats. Will come back again. I ordered two Thanksgiving meals from Warfuel Kitchen this year, as I was looking for something simple and convenient to bring to my elderly mom's for the holiday. They were absolutely delicious! My mom hasn't stopped talking about how yummy they were and what a good size portion. The turkey was so moist, as was the stuffing. Potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, and dessert completed the ensemble nicely. Oh, and the price? It was only a fraction of what similar meals to go were going for anywhere else. I found Warfuel on Instagram and followed them for a few weeks before buying any meals. I decided to try their "meal deal" and LOVED it. It's a great plan and inexpensive. Actually, it's cheaper for me to purchase the meal plan than buy & cook myself. $49.99 for 8 meals! It covers my weeks intake of breakfast & lunch. Food flavors are awesome! I have yet to have a bad meal and I don't anticipate that after ordering for a month. I love the variety each week. It's better than eating the same food everyday as I would when I prepped for myself. All meals come with a label that lists all macros and you can even scan that label with a meal tracking app! I was excited to find this place, especially since they have some dishes that are Keto friendly (although they said they won't advertise as such). I bought 3 items and picked them up. Overall I was a bit disappointed. The best dish I got was the beef steak and eggs, although it greatly lacked any seasoning. Seasoning is a must when you are trying to eat clean/healthy. The beef overall was decent quality. The worst dish I got was the egg bites. They were inedible-very rubbery, even though I cooked them precisely how they verbally told me to. I took one bite and recoiled. I tried one more bite then threw the rest away. $8 down the drain. One point - as they were trying to rush me out of their store, even though I clearly had some questions, they told me all cooking instructions were on the labels. Well, good luck trying to find them. I will try to attach a photo so you can see what I mean. I think with a little tweaking in their recipes they could be very good, even great.
