The food here is really good! We ordered the pulpo anticuchero, a ceviche with pulpo, and the arroz con mariscos. All three dishes had perfectly cooked seafood and were seasoned well. The arroz (rice) was especially delicious with a perfect amount of spice. We also got a couple of drinks, which were strong but balanced and tasted how they were described in the menu. We sat outside and enjoyed live music from the band next door on a Friday night. The inside of the restaurant is large and trendy. The service was very kind and helpful when we had questions about the menu. The bathroom was in the back corner behind the kitchen, and it had a coded lock (be sure to ask for the code before walking all the way back there). I found myself in downtown Santa Rosa doing an errand at 2:30, hadn't had lunch and was starving. I wandered around 4th street and came upon Warike, saw that it had tables outside, which looked delightful as we are having a bit of a false spring, and decided to try it. I also was very curious about Peruvian ceviche. Mexican-style ceviche is one of my favorite things and I make it a lot, but had never had Peruvian ceviche. It seemed like the perfect lunch. The restaurant is really beautiful inside, with wood and stone and earthy colors. The place settings are all very nice handcrafted ceramics and the bar was a giant wooden fancy installation. During the day it was very quiet, but with all the hard surfaces, I imagine it was pretty boisterous at night. I told the waitperson that I was interested in ceviche and whether he had recommendations. He pointed me towards the ceviche carretillero (cart ceviche), which he said also had their house ceviche, fried calamari, fried yucca and plaintains and that it would be more substantial for a lunch. I later looked up "ceviche carretillero" and found out that in Peru, a street food was ceviche topped with crunch fried calamari and that it was very popular and served out of carts! The preparation was lovely, with a pile of their fish of the day, which was a type of cod, in the middle with shredded onions on top. surrounding it was fried calamari, sweet potato, yucca, and extremely thin and beautifully fried plaintain strips. He offered to pour the small pitcher of Sangre de tigre on top and I agreed. Sangre de tigre is the marinade used to "cook" the fish. It is different than Mexican ceviche!! While not spicy with chiles, it was spicy with ginger and I don't know what else. It hits your throat, not your palate, which I thought was so interesting. I would not say it was "hot spicy", but I did cough a bit when I swallowed! It was very good! The fish was cut into fairly big rough pieces so you could really taste it. The calamari was excellent, as were the yucca and plaintain. I used the plaintain like I would fried tortillas in a Mexican ceviche, and using it almost like a spoon. I don't know if that was proper or not, but it worked for me! The Yucca would have been perfect with some mojo sauce, but that's a Cuban thing. I wonder if their is a comparable Peruvian sauce? The portion was generous and perfect for someone who came to lunch hungry. I really enjoyed my little middle of the day splurge lunch! read more

Went on a Wednesday afternoon to try their Happy Hour menu. Ate and drank pretty much everything on HH menu. None of the food was bad decent portion for the size and quality. Cocktails were excellent, ordered the Queen Elizabeth, Rosa Merino, and Sharapova. Service from the bartender was very personable and attentive. The menu and the ambiance and the service all excite me to come back. It was especially the ambiance that brought us in after wed night market, or rather toward the end as it was so loud. The Restobar has nice lighting and a feeling of calm. The bar tender was kind of managing all at 8:30 pm and he was a very nice man. It was just too late and i was not planning to spend on drinks, but the mixed drink creations looked so tempting but they were all $16 (shirt did not snap pics of the fun looking drinks menu!), but i just was not prepared financially tonight. We got $8.00 beers which was fair. But i was a little hungry but not in position buy dinner either but i can't wait to try more from the looks; maybe after my next pay check. They're definitely not more expensive than other places; dishes were pretty much between $22 and $26 with maybe a couple things a little higher; appetizers were more like $15 average. I asked the waiter what he recommended in the shareables and he said the empanadas because they had 3 on a plate and larger portion than others. I also got the fries, since they were only $6.00 it was hard to resist. The empanadas were tasty with a nice crisp flaky crust. However it tasted deep fried to me which is not my preferred variation due to extra fat concerns. I had been expecting flaky baked crust, but it was crisp from the fryer. I got the french fries as an after thought since they were only $6.00 just to try. They seemed homemade with larger and thicker than usual pieces. Some of the pieces tasted crisp enough and others were a little chewing and tough where they should be crisp, and i wondered if they had been sitting a while after having been made a while ago? Restaurant was busy, with just the right amount of patrons. Prices at Warike seemed steep in comparison to La Rosa, but everything was worth every dime. Everything we ordered there was flavorful & delicately prepared and delicious, 10/10. Everything was perfect with excellent ambience and customer service. A definite recommendation for all to try: I ordered LOMO SALTADO CLÁSICO (GFA) $28 and this was a 10/10: Traditional Peruvian style beef tenderloin, red onion, tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, soy, lomo sauce and oyster sauce, french fries & rice. We also ordered TAGLIATELLE AL ROCOTO $25 and this was a 9/10 for me: Fried prawns & tagliatelle pasta, served with roasted peppers, fresh peas, and house rocoto lemon sauce. Husband and I dined here last night for Valentine's Day. We set reservations online and table was ready upon arrival. Ambiance was not romantic as we thought it maybe from their ads. That's okay. However the service was not good. No water given, asked for it. Refills asked for it. Where's our server? Who's our server? The grilled octopus was fabulous.The two ceviche dishes looked lovely. and the fish was fresh. The potatoes and sauces were a lovely complement in the dishes. We let them know we were allergic to shrimp and cold not have any dish which included it. When we ordered the scallop ceviche they replaced scallops with shrimp (!) and served it to us without letting us know. We sent it back when we found we were served shrimp. Then the replacement ceviche came back with frozen scallops, without any warning. We requested octopus as a replacement edible seafood, which they were able to do. We decided to try Peruvian food during our stay in Santa Rosa. They somehow lost our reservation when we called to confirm but not a problem as they are not that busy on a Sunday evening. The place is clean, spacious and pleasantly decorated. As usual we ordered a bunch of different appetizers/main to share family style. All the appetizers were pretty good especially the two different ceviche. There were decent amount of seafood in both of the orders, very fresh and well seasoned with a good balance of tanginess and spiciness. The beef empanadas, crab pastries were good but didn't stand out as much. The Quinoa salad was very refreshing and good portioned. All the main courses were very flavorful and well received. Beef Tenderloin was most popular, very tender and tasty. Popular with both adults and kids. (5/5) Seafood over rice loaded with prawns, shirmps, etc. very tasty. (4/5) Tacu Tacu, looks similar to the seafood rice dish except instead of rice it's a rice and bean cake underneath. Portion was large, a little carb heavy. (3.5/5) Bean stew with short rib, very tender and tasty shredded short rib served with white rice and white bean stew. The bean stew was very creamy which went very well with the meat. (4/5) Crab and shrimp ravioli, it was OK. (3.5/5) Octopus grilled came the last, texture was chewier than what we are used to but were fresh and well seasoned. (3.5/5) Kids fried chicken tender came with two large pieces of fried chicken and appeared to be well liked by the kids. We were set on one place downtown, but after parking I saw Warike and remembered our last amazing experience so we changed our game plan. We had the Warike Ceviche - AMAZING. Also we were seated across from the door to the kitchen and a table used for servers to utilize which was unfortunate since there were 3 open tables behind us that would have been better placement. I think my dish is really good, the ceviche caretillero comes with raw fish with side of leche de tigre (mainly lime juice) fried calamari, corn, sweet potatoes in squares and fried yuka. My hubby had the lomo saltado last time and loved it but this time he had ají de gallina and he didn't care for it too much and he loves ají de gallina, he's not oeruvian but he said didn't have egg or olives and not creamy enough. The best Peruvian food I've ever had! Located in downtown Santa Rosa, this place has neon signs and party vibes, but also a gem with amazing food and drinks. We came for a bachelorette family and ordered family style and licked the plates clean. The lomo saltado had thick steak fries that just soaked in all the flavor. The warike ceviche was deliciousness in every bite. The pulpo was crispy on the outside and perfectly soft and chewy on the inside. The paella was seasoned nicely and had nice fresh seafood. The salmon was cooked to perfection with a nice bed of veggies. There is a full bar with a large tv to watch sports, and the staff can make you any drink you request. We were so full but couldn't resist ordering dessert and it did not disappoint. The churros were stuffed and divine. The chocolate volcan melts in your mouth. Absolute gem! My family and I stumbled upon this restaurant after my sister's marathon and the food was so delicious! We ordered the lomo saltado, ceviche, lobster ravioli, and seafood fried rice. I actually started drinking the sauce from the lobster ravioli if that helps indicate how good the food was! The only issue was that we had to ask for the special "happy hour menu" so clearly they want people to order the pricier options. But the selection of appetizers we enjoyed, as well as the drinks, were quite good. Empanadas were tasty, and I liked the salad with huancaina sauce. First off the ambiance is great. The service is pretty decent. Now for the bad, we went for happy hour and there was an issue the taps and I couldn't get a draft beer. The bottle selection is not that great. I settled a Peruvian beer that taste really flat. They were kind to offer me a different beer but they didn't have anything that I wanted. I should of left at that point but I really wanted to try the food. We were served the most basic tapas I have ever had in my life. The warike chicken sandwich is the most basic sanding I have ever had in my life. The fires were not seasoned and they forgot my spicy rocoto aioli. I'll start by saying the food is always delicious here. The restaurant is nice and clean, however, it is always freezing in there! colder than it is outside. It's winter time. I get it, running the heater can be expensive, but having customers sit in a "freezer" like environment is not comfortable at all. Even with our thick coats on, it's still freezing in there! and I've heard the same comment from friends . It does make you think twice about going. First time at this restaurant. Great location in the downtown area. Love that they have a full bar. We had some of their custom drinks and others. Sangria is very good! The service started off a little slower than expected. Took some time to get our first round of drinks, but they were good. The food is outstanding! We ordered the Warike ceviche and the empanadas del moto from the recommendations of our server. They did not disappoint. What a surprise! The food here is authentic Peruvian and as much as possible--a few of the staff are as well. The service was both good and awkward. We were the first to arrive one evening in early December and the staff were decorating a Christmas tree. They were so engrossed that we were completely ignored for several minutes. Finally one of the men said "someone will be right with you" and one of the young women decorating the tree showed us to our table. A little more proactive customer service would do them well. Our drinks were slow to arrive, but once we ordered food, it came fairly quickly and was quite delicious! From salad to tapas-style nibbles to seafood and lentils, it was all exceptionally good. Get there early and you'll be able to order plenty of nibbles at reasonable prices during their generous 3-hour Happy Hour. Some very creative cocktails are on that happy hour menu! The ambience is clean, eclectic and elegant. The bathroom was a little hard to find as it is shared with other tenants in the building but the artwork on the walls as you walk down the halls kind of makes up for it. I was really excited to try this place to start off my bday month. Their Yelp reviews and pictures looked great. I love drinks with fruit, herbs or flowers in them and they had that. First impression.. I didn't realize it was right down town until I got there so there's that. When I walked in I really liked the decor and what they did to the old bar space it once was. The bar is really fancy and fun with good lighting. Our table was back under the stairs and that was a nice little private spot but it had a horrible smell. I thought it was a sewage smell but my friends thought it was more of a dishwashing smell and we were by the kitchen / dishes area doors so that made sense. The food was limited for me bc I don't eat meat but that is my own fault. The food we did get was good and more than we could eat. The drinks were beautiful, exactly what I was wanting and definitely Instagramable. There was only one waitress and she kind of kept forgetting about us or I would have gotten more drinks and pictures to share. I want to give this place another chance for happy hour. I have been wanting to come here for some time. I finally made it! ... and glad I did. It was my sister in law's birthday. So a group of us gathered together to celebrate her day. It was a Sunday afternoon. We were upstairs and may have been the only people in the restaurant. I'll wishingly hope that was because the 49ers were playing in the NFC Championship game (which was on two very large TV's at the bar...very nice!) We started with some appetizers and drinks. My wife and I shared some pollo empanadas and pork won tons. We also got some beers to drink (a few local selections on tap). The starters came out fairly quickly. Wow, they were quite enjoyable. The sauces accompanying each item were amazing in their own right. For the main course, I ordered the Tallarines Verdes (flat iron steak w/ peruvian pesto over linguine). Amazing. I debated between that and the Aji de Gallina. Luckily, my wife ordered that and I sampled hers. Okay, I'll have to order that on our next visit. Delicious! One note. I had read there might be some issues with the cocktails. There were no issues. While I didn't order one, several did and there were all rave reviews...especially the Warike Mule.
