My husband and I popped in for a quick snack and cocktails today. This place hands down has the best empanadas! We tried the empanadas del lomo and they were DELICIOUS! I literally asked the manager if they sold them by the box, because if so, I'd probably buy 2 boxes, haha! The dough was perfectly cooked, flaky and crispy and the empanada filling was bursting with flavor and the meat was perfectly tender. We'll definitely be back! Popped into Warike in Santa Rosa for a mid afternoon lunch, and it was gold. The restaurant design is spot on, good vibe and solid service. Those chicken empanadas? Brilliant --flaky, light, and so delicious - they danced with flavor. Then came the freshly made halibut ceviche, the ingredients made for a flavor bomb in the best way possible. This place is absolutely great!! The vibe is good and the place is beautiful. It's right in downtown Santa Rosa and I am so happy to have this be added to one of my go to spots on a weekend night out. I went in last Saturday night and had a blast with my partner and mom. We all tried different drinks and absolutely loved them. The Warike Sour is definitely a unique and delicious drink. My mother had the Petaluma (another must) and my partner had a Pisco Punch. The ceviche is a MUST try. Their recipe is definitely mouth watering. The staff is also great!! Everything about this restaurant is great except the prices. The service is very good, the food is excellent (best ceviches). But they are on the pricey side. $23 or so for a ceviche, and add the $6 chips, and it's about $30. Add $10 to $15 for a drink, and it's quickly $55 or more per person. It's on the high side for a restaurant that has the look of a bar-type place. The prices are not out of place for their food and service, but their seating arrangement, tables, chairs, don't warrant the prices. It doesn't translate to a long relaxing sit down meal, where you don't mind spending that kind of money. But again, the food is superb. read more

Love Warike! Food has almost always been on point. There was only one time that my husband felt the chicken wasn't good quality, but that was about a year ago at this point and ever since then it's been great. I tend to go for the vegan lentils or the empanadas, and my husband goes for a pollo saltado or tallarines verdes. Their cocktails are probably the best in Santa Rosa, plus they carry Peruvian beers! The service is always friendly and fast, and the restaurant is beautiful inside. You do need a bathroom code, so make sure to ask your server. We've sat in the outside patio and the server was very kind and brought out water for our dog. Definitely my go-to for Peruvian food and all around a good dinner. read more

I've visited this restaurant at least 5 times in the last 6 months. Their entree menu is limited to 8 dishes, which they do very well. Their deserts are also very good. Where they crumble is their bar service. It's price on the high side, yet the drinks don't reflect the price. On this visit we ordered vodka, grey goose martini. Though charged full price we were served a half portion and even without the tradition olive and watered downed. It seems that they're focus on the "Resto", but the "bar" part is failing to provide a drink that is commensurate with the price. read more

This is the third time we've been here in the past 6 months. The food has increased in price quite noticeable. Between four of us, we ordered 4 cocktails, 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. Total bill was about $230. It was not worth it. The empanadas were good but not worth the increased price now. The salmon croquettes were fishy- aka, not fresh tasting. I had the tagliatelle and it was spicy- but my main complaint was that the noodles were really tough and stuck together. I would not order that dish again. The ceviche was great, something else I got was like crab salad on cold sweet potatoes, I blame my ignorance of Peruvian cuisine for not understanding this dish. We have not been in the building since it was stouts and wanted to reminisce on old times and have good food.... The restaurant was mostly empty. We sat on the second floor. The food did come out quickly. It looked really good and I was excited to try them but the food was like baby food... it was blended food that shaped cute on a plate with WAY to many flavors. Tried this place the other night. The food is OK, but nothing special. I ordered the mixto, a combination of beef, prawns, fries, rice and onion. The gravy tasted store bought, more like a salty a jus. The seating is uncomfortable especially if you're a senior. My wife had a chicken dish with sauce made of yellow peppers. Also unremarkable, and it tasted and smelled a little old. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so there is an expectation of remarkable service. Sadly not the case. I'm assuming the restaurant is family owned and run, but it appeared that the family members were more involved in talking to each other rather than being attentive to patrons. read more

The Lomo Saltado Classico was comforting and filling. All of the mixed drinks we got were delicious, I highly recommend the Cotati and House Pisco Sour. We also had the traditional ice cream which was very creamy and a perfect ending. The people working there seem happy and proud of their work.
