Nice old style place. Very low tech, basic but fun for family. A little out of the way but a good place to hang out all day.

Just paid another visit to the Olea Hotel for my husband's birthday. Still love this place but it's…read morestarting to lose some of the charm it once had. But first, the good: their accommodations remain fabulous. We stayed in the Upper Poolside Cottage (Room 10) and it's just wonderful. The Comphy sheets are just heaven. Their bath towels are also plush and luxurious. Two thumbs up for in-room linens! Heated floors in the bathroom and 2-sided fireplace provide nice warmth and comfort. Complimentary snacks and fizzy water in the mini fridge are a nice bonus, too. The poolside cottages are the cat's meow, and just a short hop to the pool and hot tub. But there are several things that I noted during our last visit that made me feel like maybe this may have been our last visit to the Olea. First, there was a goodly amount of trash strewn about the property. At the hot tub, there was a wine bottle cap on the bench (I know, wine country, to be expected, right?), but what truly grossed me out was the wad of used athletic wrap right next to the hot tub. Blech! As I grabbed both of these items and took them to the trash (all of five or six steps from where they had been scattered), I noticed even more bits of trash in the corner area near the planters. Like more trash than would be expected by just one party being messy. (Also, the planter area was weedy and just seemed neglected.) I dismissed it as just not getting some needed attention, until I returned to our cottage and noticed several more pieces of trash right by our front door that I had missed earlier. And apparently so did housekeeping and management. Plus broken tree limbs atop the roof of the main building. And a huge rip in one of the pool lounge chair pads. And a very large hole (~3") in a pool towel. Just signs of general neglect and subpar for this place, especially at their price point. Second and perhaps even more disappointing is how much the included breakfast service has changed. It's gone from a 2-course, made-in-house gourmet affair to a continental style DYI breakfast, apparently now even on the weekends. The only thing made to order is the avocado toast (for obvious reasons). For those guests who hadn't enjoyed the previous offerings, perhaps it doesn't seem too bad. Nice spread. But I sorely miss the delectable morning meals and the awesome homemade chai along with the service for breakfast. I'd give this an updated 3.5 stars but will round up to 4 because I still really want to love this place. Also, Star provided friendly and welcoming service at the front desk, which was appreciated.

The bathrooms, in particular, were beautifully updated--stylish, spotless, and spacious. Check-in was quick and easy, and we appreciated the ample onsite parking. One of the highlights was the saloon-style restaurant right on the property, which served tasty food and excellent drinks in a fun. Our friends hosted their after-party there and we really got to see how big the location is and conveniently walk back to our room at the end of the night! The location couldn't be better--within easy walking distance to tasting rooms, cafes, and even a Michelin-starred restaurant. It's also just a short drive to several wineries and the stunning Jack London State Park. Although we didn't get a chance to use the pool, it looked lovely and peaceful, nestled alongside a river--definitely something we'll look forward to next time. The whole place had a warm, cozy, and inviting vibe. The town itself is incredibly charming, and we already can't wait to come back for another stay!

It started with coffee and tea, croissants, and fresh fruit. Then the main entrée of an egg dish or pancakes arrived. The place was very neat and tidy, they have two wonderful old dogs on the property. One morning during breakfast we saw an entire family of quail having their breakfast outside of our window. We looked at a lot of venues all over California and when we visited Beltane we knew it had to be there. We were looking for a venue that had nearby guest accommodations (200+ person wedding) but would allow for us to stay on site with our families and really slow down and enjoy that time with them. Beltane has a magic about it that can't be quantified and it's from the care that Lauren & the entire team put into every detail. We stayed with both of our families Thursday - Monday and hosted our rehearsal dinner there on Thursday night. The food was incredible thanks to Chef Neil, every detail was so thoughtful, and the whole thing just flowed. Our families felt completely at home. The rooms are beautiful, the grounds are stunning, and we couldn't have been more relaxed. Lauren, Alexandria, Elise, Angie, Brian and the entire team are the best at what they do. They were flexible, responsive, and genuinely cared about making our weekend special. In an industry full of venues that feel impersonal and transactional, Beltane is the epitome of warmth and personality. We can't recommend Beltane enough.

They overdelivered on every aspect of our entire weekend and made us feel like family in the process. In a sea of wedding venues that feel like "wedding factories"- impersonal and transactional, Beltane is a absolute gem. We felt instant trust with Lauren and her team. They were incredibly flexible and accommodated our requests seamlessly. The biggest feeling that comes to mind when reflecting on our experience is "taken care of". The property is stunning and they really make you feel like it's yours for the weekend. Our guests, especially those staying on property, could not stop talking about how special it was. The rooms are luxurious and well-appointed, the breakfast they serve is amazing, and their staff are some of the most hospitable people I've ever met. The day of our wedding, the views were incredible. We were initially worried about road noise, but we didn't hear anything day of. The sunset was gorgeous. They really are in a special spot! Beltane also as fantastic relationships in Sonoma County. Every vendor I spoke with was eager to work at Beltane and knew the venue inside and out. We can't wait to come back, stay, and attend their events for years to come.

The location is excellent, with the plaza, downtown restaurants, shopping, and a lovely park all within easy walking distance. Parking was also convenient and free. Throughout our stay, the staff members we encountered were pleasant and welcoming. The inn also offered complimentary wine-and-cheese each afternoon, which was a nice touch. Our first-floor King room (number 7) overlooked the parking lot and was located right off the lobby. The room was dark, dated, and much smaller than expected. It felt sparse and lacked adequate horizontal surfaces. With only one luggage rack and limited space to set luggage, our second suitcase had to sit on a small corner table. We requested an additional rack, but none were available. The décor was underwhelming--blank walls with no artwork, covered hanging light bulbs instead of bedside lamps, and two chairs that looked in need of reupholstering. While there was a fireplace, using it comfortably required moving furniture, which then made circulation around the bed tight. The bathroom also needed updating; it was small with a tub/shower/plastic curtain, poorly lit, and had minimal counter space. A permanent sign instructing guests to run the sink slowly--due to known drainage issues--was an unfortunate detail that stood out. And the downside of a first-floor room with limited sound insulation was significant noise from the room above as well as in the hallway, which was at times disruptive.  Breakfast was included and changed daily. Chef Sal deserves particular praise--his breakfasts, homemade breads, and cookies were excellent and easily a highlight of the stay. The only disappointment at breakfast was the coffee, which was extremely weak and never hot enough. Fortunately, there's a Peet's Coffee directly across the street, and judging by the number of fellow inn guests we saw there each morning, we weren't alone in that assessment. Overall, while the location and breakfasts were strong positives, the room quality made this stay a disappointment given the price point. There are likely better options in the area. On a positive note, we continued on to Milliken Creek Inn in Napa (another Four Sisters property) which we found to be outstanding in every respect-a gorgeous, impeccably managed property.

How about when you first drive up the winding drive, and glimpse the first take of the stunning main building. I arrived at night, so all the ambience from the lighting, the moon, the glimmer off the fountain in the middle of the courtyard. Immediately was struck. Then I walked in to check in at the front desk - and I couldn't have been more welcoming. I had just made the marathon drive from Pasadena, CA, and was just tired, hungry and looking to get to the room and get to dinner. But the warm faces and kind words instantly washed the road away from me (and to be honest, the perfectly chilled glass of local champagne certainly helped that too!). They ensured everything was right with the room and with the stay and so I headed out to pick up the puppy from the car and settle up to the room. And then... there is the story of the puppy. Out of all the hotels and resorts I've stayed in - nothing NOTHING compares to the dog friendly (while still wholly human centric) service at this Fairmont. They made me feel like Chance was as much a guest there as I was. And all that isn't even to mention the concierge, the perfect cocktails from the bartender, the beautiful winding paths that guide you through the campus, the world class spa and massages (note - make SURE you check out the quiet room, nothing like it I've ever seen), the OUTSTANDING breakfast under the trees next to the pool... I just don't have time to list it all here. But the cherry on top - really is the people. They just... they are the magic that infuses everything in the building, everything in the resort, everything in the spa. They were there for me at every turn and at every moment, for every need. This couldn't possibly have been better - and I honestly can't wait to return.

Our AC was blowing 98 degree air so when we walked into our room upon check in, it was scorching hot. Took forever for someone to answer the phone. Maintenance man arrived within maybe 20-30 minutes. He had the portable unit with him (this is clearly a recurring issue). Supposedly there were no rooms available so our only option was to forfeit our window and ability to open and close our curtains and have this installed. It was loud. And the tubing was taped. The tape popped off on both ends day 2 and was again blowing hot air into our room. Maintenance came back. Added tape. It really killed the relaxing vibe of this place to have a noisy AC unit and multiple visits from maintenance. You can't really enjoy amenities when you're waiting for someone to arrive each day you're there. On the flip side, everyone who helped us was delightful. We interacted with quite a few staff members and everyone was delightful. So if you have to forego privacy, it's nice to have kind people in your room. In total, maintenance came to our room 3 times. Once at check in and twice day 2. We had to ask but we were given a small discount to accomodate the AC unit. It felt a little odd having to ask for a new room, being told no, and then having to ask ourselves if we could have a spa credit or something for the trouble to again be told no but we would be given a small discount on the room at check out. The restaurant was nice, and the grounds themselves are lovely. The bed was comfortable and the spa tub was nice. The room itself felt clean and cozy despite a few broken items. I wanted to love this place simply because it really is a beautiful place but I really feel conflicted on if I'd ever go back. The noisy unit, half my curtains being unable to open/close, warm room was hard to overlook at the end of May.
