I am a contractor and stayed here with a few coworkers while working on a project nearby. The Rustridge Bed & Breakfast is part of the larger winery and equine operation located in Chiles Valley, only 15 minutes off of Silverado trail. Passing Lake Hennessey, Left on Chiles Pope Valley Rd, and then right on Lower Chiles Valley Rd, this place is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the drive for their small batch wines on a working ranch. Some reviews on other sites claim it to be much much farther than it actually is. There are several smaller wineries in the valley within a 10 minute drive, as well as Moore Creek Park, Lake Hennessey, and Lake Berryessa. Napa Valley and downtown St. Helena are within 15-20 minutes drive. As stated before, this is a working ranch and winery, and therefore its very rustic. This is not a modern spa resort, but rather a quiet getaway. Susan and Jim, the owners, greet you with wine tastings and see you to your room, then leave you to privacy. The place is very clean, but as with any ranch, spider webs and such are to be expected. While they do technically have WiFi, its basically dial up. Cell service is non-existant. Expect to get an occasional email or notification, but do not expect any sort of video streaming or social media. The allure is a quiet and secluded place, off the beaten path. The breakfast is amazing. Every morning, the housekeeper cooks a full family style breakfast. Coffee, tea, fruit, yogurt, and granola are waiting when you wake up. Once ready, she will bring out something different each day. Each day during our stay, we got a different egg dish, potatoes, bacon, waffles, etc. Overall, I felt compelled to review this place because on other sites, reviewers complained about what its not, instead of praising what it is. A legit bed & breakfast run by attentive owners for a quiet and secluded place to stay, disconnected and off the beaten path of Napa. Turn your phones off and enjoy.

Cottage Sonoma agreed to a longer rental as they knew we were in a bind, but I believe they are normally shorter term vacation rentals. The house is wonderful. It is the most prepared and stocked vacation rental I have ever been in. The owner's have tried to think of everything that could improve a guests experience. A kitchen you can truly cook in - and we love to cook. The house gets a ton of natural light and has a warm feeling to it. It is located about a 1 minute walk from the Sonoma Square so the location basically couldn't be better. The back yard is gorgeous, private, and the hot tub works wonderfully. Pros: this was a very charming estate and the staff was beyond kind to both of us and our pup. He was welcome everywhere except the dining room, the pool and spa. The room was very cute and clean. The only downside for me and my allergies is that there is wood fireplace in each room. The bathroom had plenty of hot water. The breakfast was from 8-10 am in the dining room and had a decent meat-less spread. Toast, bagels, oatmeal and toppings, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, coffee, tea assortment and juices. The grounds are super cute and weather permitting there is a movie playing on a projector with complimentary s'mores to cook on the outdoor wood fire. Since we had our dog, we didn't use the pool or spa. "Aunt Kay" we interacted with the most and was so kind to both of us and Dio. She made our stay! Not only was she informative but also checked in on us when we we'd pass through the lobby. Dio was a big fan of her. Cons: if you have allergies or are sensitive to wood smoke, this is not your destination. Again, there are wood burning fireplaces in each room and a large fire pit by the movie. The room we stayed at is across from the pool and it can get noisy. You can also hear everyone that walks in front of your room. Along with that there is a lot of wildlife, so you may need ear plugs. If you need to sleep in the dark, the front blinds are going to still let in light, so bring a sleep mask. Update: we got a text that I forgot my socks in the room. They offered to mail them to us, we declined. I don't remember the last time house keeping and the front office too the time to be that considerate.

The room itself was very clean, sheets, bathroom, everything was very clean. I always get paranoid about bed bugs and we had zero issues. The breakfast in the morning was also very nice and fresh with good options. They had eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, cream cheese, very delicious fruit, oatmeal, coffee and tea. That alone made it a reasonable place to stay. The dining room was also very clean. I also really liked that they had the outdoor movie theater and smores. Our kids loved it each night. The library/game room is also such a cute unique area that is great for those who have kids. However now to the bad. That includes the cute library. While a cute idea, it's extremely dirty filled with dead flies and bees all over the windows and even cushions. The windows on the outside have not been clean in a very long time. The dead flies, bees are everywhere. There on the floor, the light fixtures, jacuzzi and pool. The jacuzzi had so many dead bugs in the water and the water also had probably dirt from people's bodies. It was very unsanitary and disappointing to say the least. The property itself is not maintained. There are bugs, weeds, and poor condition of most of the outside of the property. It's too bad because it could be a great place to stay if they just did some extra work to clean up. Part of me would want to come back because of the breakfast and outdoor movie but they really need to take the time to clean.

Rooms #11 & 12 were amazing. 11 is the larger room and larger bathroom with 2 full beds. 12 has a pullout sofa and full bed. Easily sleeps 2 couples in each room or mom and dad and 2 kids, but that's not what you're there for. Outside (if you take both spaces) is a large outdoor deck divided in half by a wall but connected so you can get from one room to the other. It has a shared yard beyond that. The landscaping is amazing. The property is on the river with tons of space to chill in the water. They have a deck for the facility and everyone can use it. It's shared so be prepared to be with other people but it is a place that seems to attract a good crowd. Everyone who we ran into there was nice. Another thing on the property they was cool was coffee, fresh ice cold filtered water, popcorn, and the front desk made the kids cotton candy daily. There is an ice machine there as well so you can roast in the sun and drink ice cold filtered water till you pop. That part of the place is in the outdoor kitchen which is community and has board games and seating for everyone. Outside the kitchen is bathrooms and seating areas. 2 fireplaces for s'mores and I believe a bbq pit (I can't remember we have a travel size Traegar they let us use) as well. If I were to get married or have a party it would 1000% be here. I think there is 12 rooms and I'd rent the whole spot for it without even thinking twice. Maybe bring extra help to keep the party rolling but this place legit is perfect for it. They also have like a VIP outdoor seating area we didn't end up getting but has a TV and some "roped off" area to hang out at that is an amazing setup. I can keep going but we loved this place. Even upon arrival our room had spiders have babies in the room (happens yall it's on the river and def outdoorsy) and my wife felt awkward asking because we didn't want to sound like the complaining people but we asked for a vacuum to get them out. The lady actually came in the room and helped us. 5 star stay. 5 star people, oh and being a licensed contractor and getting along with people who work, the people who kept the grounds were cool too. Super nice to our kids, and when you see the landscape, you can tell they are good at their job. Can't say enough good stuff. We will be back.

The owners were extremely accommodating, friendly, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, I felt right at home. You can tell that a lot of care and thought went into the décor, the atmosphere, and the overall experience. The lodge is small, with only a handful of rooms, and is located directly off Highway 116. One thing I would recommend is requesting a room with a balcony overlooking the river. Our room was very close to the highway, so it could be noisy at times, but the room itself was very comfortable. I visited with my cousin, and we stayed in a two-bedroom room that had everything we needed, including a mini fridge, microwave, and toaster. The bathroom was also well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The outdoor areas were one of my favorite parts of the property. There are beautiful patio areas, barbecue spaces, and an outdoor kitchen where you can prepare your own meals. They even provide a refrigerator, ice maker, and sink, along with two beautiful fire pits. It really feels like a place where families and friends can gather, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. The property itself is gorgeous. One of my favorite moments was sitting on the tranquil dock overlooking the crystal-clear Russian River. I felt completely transported to another place and time. It was peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect way to slow down and enjoy nature. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, and the wineries are just a short drive away. We spent a day wine tasting, which was lovely and made for a perfect addition to our stay. I would recommend the Inn on the Russian River for a weekend getaway or even a longer stay. I stayed here 6 years apart and both times they were clean, comfortable, and didn't feel dated. If anything the showers are a little dated, but it adds some character. A breakfast buffet is included, and while it isn't the most robust breakfast, it is extremely appreciated by someone who needs to eat some carbs before or after a day of wine tastings. We were also very pleased to see gluten free muffins for my friend. The hotel is about a mile from the town center, so it is walkable and I've done it, but it's also a quick drive or fairly inexpensive uber away.

There is a sense of timelessness here, a respect for time, for animals, and the land itself---many of the vines are mature, even 30-years old if I remember my private wine tasting correctly. Yes, that is the other element here: aromatic hand-crafted wines made in small batches by Susan and Jim. To sip fine vintages in their tasting room, with its windows overlooking sweeping vineyards, the grapes ripening before one's eyes, is an unparalleled experience. We walked up the stairs to find a very cozy home and guest house. The first night was spent cooking, drinking wine, and hanging out in the hot tub. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, so we cooked breakfast and dinner here each day. We were close to the river, so we spend the second day kayaking. The home has a TV/DVD player, so when we were exhausted in the evening, we could relax and watch movies or play some of the games available in the house. Wineries are not too far, so we spent the third day wine tasting. We had a great vacation, and we hope to return next summer!
