I went here with a group for my birthday. I love a good dive bar but this staff is RUDE. I asked the bar tender to add a drink to my friends tab before cashing her out. He then proceeded to toss her card down in a dramatic huff and leave it by the credit card machine. Not even acknowledging me he then proceeded to help four other people with drinks, fill up the olive juice, fill up the margarita mix, and still had not even nodded his head or looked in my direction. I get that he was filling people's orders before mine but a simple acknowledgment or a "sure give me one second" would have done. Then when I mentioned it to the other bartender she said "I am sure he heard you and will get your drink" at that point I said "no worries I don't want it" and me and my party of about 12 people left. Awful service! Went for a martini after a long day at work. Sat at the bar, 3 bartenders there and not one of them even acknowledged us. Warren's is a downtown institution, that survives all of the comings & goings of the various trendy spots in the neighborhood. This is sort of a "Twin Peaks" type bar (meaning the David Lynch directed TV series, not the titty committee restaurant chain, though both certainly have their virtues), with a strange array of locals & regulars usually on hand. Sure, they look at you a little funny when you come in, but that's because you probably don't look very much like them, now do you? Everyone is friendly enough, including the old school bar staff, and if not, well you won't really care after 1 or 2 of their crazy stiff drinks (mixers are a mere afterthought here). Warren's definately is the local dive bar for the downtown Houston area. Its the only place I see that consistently has a crowd around the bar any night of the week after 10 pm. The regulars are a great bunch of people to hang out with, and interesting to boot. Drinks are affordable and the pour is certainly "heavy." The jukebox is full of classic stuff from country to rock to blues. The decor is pretty neat kinda feels like the 1920's. All in all a worthwhile local hangout or chill destination spot. read more

Not sure why I haven't reviewed Warren's yet, this was the first bar I went to drink with my friends after class when i was finally old enough to drink, yeah i am too cool for school. Back then a bartender named Joe made the best drinks in the world, he was just a crazy nice guy, he has sinced passed but the spirit of Warren's is still the same. Katie makes great non pretensious drinks, now with the revamped market square park i expect the people to change a little just like when main st "revamped mid decade ago, but i expect Warrens to be the excat same! read more

This was an odd little bar I ended up at with a couple friends and I dug it. The first time I went there was awhile back when the Kids in the Hall were in town... we were just hanging out when they all walked in. It is the kind of place where all walks of life can come in, have a drink and keep it cool. No douchebaggery, just hanging. Drinks are good, company is great! A place for regulars, not for yelper's (can you read the hypocrisy). A dive that is stuck in t he 70's. Which does not matter for all the locals/regulars that show up every day. A true dive. A U shaped wood bar, old tables that might be older than me, scattered around. Crap beer list...well what would you expect? At least they have Saint Arnold in bottles. OK, enough of that. Not here to say they have a crappy beer list or whatnot. Service was friendly to me, someone that is half the age of most the locals. Let me preface by saying that Warren's does not provide the same type of "experience" as the rest of downtown/Main street. No fancy decor, no high price craft cocktails, no former frat boys.. you won't feel out of place if you're in casual jeans with a plaid top (kind of place). All that goes to say that this is a great spot on Saturday night if you're group wants to experience the awesome downtown scene that has taken over the last 2 years (food trucks and all) but you don't want to have to get all dolled up with a full face of makeup. It's a great laid back place to check out with a large or small group. They have tables that easily accommodate 8-12 people. The drinks are affordable for downtown standards ($6 wells). It's unpretentious and fun. You should check it out. read more

Located at Market Square Park, Warren's Inn is a cozy little bar with several beers on tap or in bottles, and they also have a variety of hard liquors and cocktails if that's your preference. We were here for a night time event so the place was a little packed. There's lots of seating inside, but the place will fill up if it's busy. It didn't take long, however, to order our drinks at the bar, and the staff was friendly. Drinks are not overly expensive and the bar is super casual. It's definitely a place to just relax and drink. Went to Warren's Inn (not my first time there but my first time with someone with a service animal) this weekend (Saturday, July 15th) to meet some friends for a drink and they refused to serve a friend with a service dog. They were insistent that certification papers are required to be shown to prove the dog is a service dog which is not true based on both Federal and Texas laws. The bartenders working also said that there's a Houston city ordinance stating that the papers were required which is not true. The friend used to help education the public on ADA requirements for service animals and knew none of this was true. And, while he did have certification papers available, he should not have been required to show them per the law. After the "discussion" about how the papers aren't required and it's illegal for them to refuse service because of the service dog, he showed them his dog's certification paperwork. He was told that he should've just shown that from the beginning to avoid all the trouble (obviously, they're missing the point) and my friend was then told the bar has the right to refuse service to anyone and were choosing to refuse service to him. My friend wasn't drunk, wasn't belligerent, nothing. He tried showing them the ADA law on his phone and they weren't interested. So, the only reasonable assumption that can be made is that they refused to serve him because of the service dog situation. So, no, I wouldn't recommend going to Warren's Inn because they either don't care to follow the law on service dogs or are ignorant of the law on service dogs and don't care to learn it. https://www.ada.gov/service_animals_2010.htm read more

Dive bar at its best. The fake wood paneling and way-past-its-prime furniture made it look like the basement from That 70's Show. Stiff drinks at recession-friendly prices. Prob the best, most affordable spot downtown to grab a drink. They make good, stiff drinks. Can be a little dark at time poor lighting but i find that to be a good thing, Stiff drinks, candle light, tv. People say it has a best juke box, but i dont see it. I see that the juke box would cater more to the older crowd, but i dont go there for music. They also sell decent sandwhiches .Oh and as others have said, dont go in and order a double ! read more
