I really enjoyed the superb show. The food was fresh and well cooked!! This place is in a failing mall but well worth the visit.

If you have never enjoyed hibachi, this is a great place to go. They do a little show and the food is always amazing. They start with a big fire and then the rice, then veggies and then the meats. I usually go with the combo so you can get two meats. Last night, I got salmon and scallops. Wasabi is really popular for birthdays and other important holidays. I would recommend a reservation for that reason, because it can fill up! read more

The rolls were superb; seafood soup: Oh, my, my!. Udon noodle better, way better, than strudel. The avocado salad is a special matter, its freshness and retention, deserves an honorable mention. My girlfriend and I visited Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse on 29 May. We were able to quickly get a seat and were the only people in the restaurant. It appears that they do most of their business through take-out. She ordered the tempura udon and I got the chicken teriyaki. Her food also included a salad with ginger sauce and miso soup, though she said the soup was kind of a generic broth. The udon was good, though. I enjoyed the chicken and fried rice, but the teriyaki sauce was a little sweeter than usual. Still, a nice filling meal for a good price. read more

Not one to kick a business during Covid times, and it's very rare that I feel compelled to complain, but this restaurant has gone to hell in a hand basket. The quality of food was actually gross. I ordered something with spicy tuna, and I swear it was canned cat food it was this congealed pink slime that tasted horrible and the texture was revolting. There's no way in heck that was minced ahi tuna with spicy oil. That was something from hell. My date ordered calamari, and I was hoping to cleanse my palate from that horrid flavor, only to have my tastebuds assaulted with the taste of burnt ass. There's jokes about restaurants using pig rectum as a cheap alternative to squid, and I think that is exactly what I bit into. The breading was burnt, and the calamari was tough, rubbery, and the flavor was irredeemable. Finally, out came the sushi rolls. I got some sort of tempura shrimp roll, and while that actually wasn't bad at all, the rice was warm, mushy, and stuck to the plate when I tried to pick up the sushi. Never in my life have I experienced an entire meal from start to finish leaving me disappointed. I used to love this place and frequented it over the last 12+ years it was in business. I have been going to this restaurant for years, and unfortunately it is not as good as it used to be. I went yesterday and received extremely slow service, and subpar portion sizes. As always, the food was mostly really good(except the salmon was a bit burned). The staff is nice, just probably understaffed. Unfortunately portion sizes have gotten significantly smaller than they used to be here. Hopefully next time I go, they might be a bit bigger. I would give this 3 1/2 stars if I could, because it's better than 3 stars, but not good enough for 4. read more

It was an horrible experience. We went because we read the reviews and they were mostly positive. But not this time with us. The waitress ignored us when we walked in. Finally decided to ask us whether regular table or hibachi tables. Ignored us again after our response. I asked do we just seat ourselves, she held one finger and said one sec without even looking at us. After we sat down and ordered our drinks, my kids and us (table of 4) said thank you each time she put down the water, didn't respond to any of us. After the appetizer was out, she didn't give us enough utensils. (There were two forks and napkins on the table before we arrived, and she never gave another two to us). She was horrible to other tables too. I saw her past by and throw menus on the table then walked away. And then saw two other guests walked over to the table. What a service. The food: the salmon teriyaki was too dried. The unago (eel) don was too salty. The rice was under cooked. And she forgot two of our orders. When we raked out, she ignored us and didn't say thank you nor bye. Felt like we were invisible to her. Will never ever come back again. Waiting for an early dinner around 430 and the place was so disorganized it took us 20 minutes to even get attention. We were seated in a booth waited 15 minutes got up and went to the bar to get better service, bartender asked if we wanted to drink and then walked away and didn't serve us. After another five minutes a lady came out of the kitchen and dropped down two mushroom soup's, we hadn't even ordered, let alone get a drink yet. The only edible item I ordered was the California roll. I also order miso soup which had no flavor at all. I ordered rainbow roll which did not have sushi rice and had brown Avocado on top with the fish. I ordered asparagus roll that again just had sticky rice and asparagus that was inedible. The shrimp roll was again sticky rice not sushi rice and for all of them no dipping sauce just soy sauce. The spring rolls were so oily I couldn't eat them and the chicken bites were flavorless and the dipping sauce was horrible. Maybe the biggest problem was that I ordered late in the afternoon so got a bunch of lunch discards. I will not spend nearly $50 again for inedible food. read more

The tuna is old not even close the color it should of been. No way hell I was going to eat old raw fish. Not great, not bad, just average. The sushi rolls were smaller in size than what you usually get in a place like this. The flavor was mediocre in some cases average in others. The dressing on the salad was extremely heavy which is unusual for a ginger dressing and had all the appearance of being from a bottle rather than made fresh in the restaurant. The nigiri was okay but not great The pieces were a little bit small but fresh. It's about as good as a sushi fix as you're going to get in this area. Wow. This place has really gone downhill. They have become very strict on minor changes. The prices are high for the area and they're suffering from bad business practices. Sometimes a great idea doesn't get executed properly. They serve sushi on the edge of old. You have to be careful. We were very lucky to have this restaurant near our lousy hotel. It was open still at 8:30 for hibachi dinner. Granted, we didn't get out until 9ish but that's ok. There was another couple across the table. The place was empty. It really shouldn't have been. Maybe it's the location? It is at the local mall but maybe this is a smaller town than I thought. Wasabi was clean in both the bathrooms and the eating area. I got filet mignon and my husband got chicken. It definitely had a Japanese hibachi steakhouse feel to it. Nice art. The soup was ok. I'm not a fan of mushrooms but they were easy to pull out. The ginger dressing on the salad was a bit sweet for me. Now the main dinner was great. I'll go into the cooking after. The filet was very tender, an actual medium rare and the chicken was good according to my husband. He also got all the shrimp appetizers. The couple across from us doesn't eat shrimp and neither do I. Now of course you also go to a hibachi grill to watch the chef. Our chef was Chad. He was a hoot. I think the other couple didn't get the jokes, most were pop culture references like from a Progressive ad or movies. His knife work was nice and clean, the story for the (onion) volcano was fun, he even had lava from the volcano. He made the dinner enjoyable. Granted we were there near closing so it was expected that they would at least start cleaning in the areas that had no patrons. They didn't do any tables near us until after the other couple left. We're slow eaters. It was a lot of food. Chad had to clean the first 4 dinner tables because he was the only chef in that day. No biggie, he was fun to talk with. Great experience!!! Booked a reservation online via Google Assistant. I would recommend reservations as it can get busy. There seems to be two chefs that cycle around to the different tables. Just my wife and I in our party so we were at the table with 2 other couples. There is seating at each table for 8, but there were other tables seated with all 16 spots filled and both chefs going!!! Our chef was very good... not as lively as the other chef, but still kept our interest and served us wonderfully cooked food!!! We dinners included miso soup and salad (we both enjoyed the house ginger dressing) and we added on a Cleveland Browns roll which was also excellent. We both had the shrimp/scallops combo and both were cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the Berry Sake (it is like gummy bears soaked in Sake). We will definitely be returning!!! read more

My boyfriend and I went to Wasabi Steakhouse for dinner together, and we chose it after seeing pretty good reviews online. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and salmon teriyaki as our main entrees. The serving sizes were pretty big and the food was overall tasty. They also came with miso soup that was decent and salads that were alright but drowning in dressing. However, the main issue arose when the 3 sushi rolls we ordered arrived. I have eaten a good amount of sushi in my life, but I have never seen tuna that color before. It was weirdly pink and far lighter than any raw tuna I've ever seen. We also had rolls with salmon in them, and there were brown parts, which was an immediate red flag. However, we didn't want to waste the money and so tried some of all the rolls we ordered. I had to spit out the tuna immediately because the texture was so wrong. It was kind of chewy/tough in my mouth and the texture of it stood out to me the second I tried to bite it. The salmon was drowned in spicy mayo, so I didn't realize how off it was until I started poking around and looking more closely. On top of the poor fish quality, the rolls themselves were poorly made, with messy ends and rice/nori that failed to hold the rolls shut. I guess we should have known better than to order sushi like that in Ohio, given the distance from the ocean. However, I feel like a restaurant serving raw fish to its customers should be a lot more cautious about what they put on their plates, which is why we gave them the benefit of the doubt. If I were to go back, I would definitely stick with cooked food or maybe try the hibachi, rather than risk the food poisoning of eating their sushi. The only reason for 2 stars is that they have a chef named Chadman who is very good. The rest of the staff is less than accomidating! My family and I have been here 8 times or more with the last 3 times being average or poor. 1/10/15 we went for hibachi and sushi, the wait quoted "15 minutes" the actual wait, 1 hour. We decided to sit at the bar to wait and have a beer and some sushi, we were walked past 10+ times and not acknowledged. I finally got the attention of a waitress passing through the sushi/bar area and got us a drink, this was after sitting there ignored for 15 minutes. Finally after nearly an hour long wait we get to our hibachi seat and place our order, 4 appetizers and 4 hibachi dinners. We had the seaweed salad, shrimp dumplings, spring rolls and edamame. The seaweed salad was average at best, the rest of the appetizers were a joke! The spring rolls were $6 and you get 4 of them about the size of your thumb, what a joke! The shrimp dumplings were the size of tater tots and you get 6 rubbery flavorless pieces of garbage. The edamame was ok, probably the best part of the meal was the sushi, we got the #23 chili roll, it was acceptable. The hibachi was worse than gross, we had hibachi salmon and shrimp and noodles. The salmon did not even resemble salmon in color or flavor. It looked more like they were trying to charge us for salmon and pass off some cheap piece of tilapia in its place. it did not look fresh at all! It was virtually white, I don't know about you but I've never seen white salmon! We got the rookie chef that was "in testing" we were told. Really! We spent nearly $200 on our meal and the only thing we were left with was heartburn from all the garlic! Our chef had no idea how to season food or put on a true hibachi experience! Everything was seasoned the same, the rice, blobs of fresh chopped garlic, the noodles, oil and fresh chopped garlic, the salmon and shrimp fresh chopped garlic! I could go on for days but you get the point. Go to Fujiama in Avon or Arashi in Westlake, you will actually get what you pay for. This is just a ghetto knock off just like everything at Midway Mall! Called management to give them a chance to fix it and the said sorry there was nothing they could do! WOW! read more

This place has always been my favorite, the staff are always welcoming and talk to you as they cook in front of you and have always been kind. They cook everything perfectly. The wait after ordering is worth it as it is always a spectacular meal, the chef are always child friendly. The show when they cook in front of you is always fun to watch. This was our first time here. We were unsure but our daughters really wanted to go. We chose the Hibachi dinner experience . There were 5 in our group. We waited what we considered a long time for our experience to begin. Two additional people were seated with us. Once our chef began we were pleasantly surprised. Our meal still took a while to prepare but was very good. We had chicken, shrimp, scallops, steak and lobster. My girls thought the fried rice was the best thing they ate. You can have the grill or you can stay at the Sushi Bar, or you can have both. You order sushi with your meal. I love this place. They have 6 grills I believe and great service. This steakhouse was dismal. Signage was broken, with the outside signage missing a letter. The awning was spray painted. Once you walked inside, the carpeting was old, torn and very dirty. I decided to order the Hibachi Chicken Lunch Special. The chicken was dry and salty, the rice was mushy, no texture and very little taste other than a bit salty. BIG Mistake! I missed 3 strong signals, but decided to try this restaurant anyway. 1. The sign on outside of the restaurant is missing at least one letter. What kind of business can't afford a decent sign? 2. The restaurant was mostly empty...less than a dozen people eating here. In spite of that, we were seated immediately adjacent to a whining family. 3. There are only about a dozen beers on the menu, and they were out of the one beer (on the menu) that I requested. I know we should have left without ordering, but I decided to stay...and the food was less than average. You could probably do better buying sushi from your local food market. read more

I hosted a party of 20 people here and made it clear to the servers when we arrived that I was hosting the party and to bring me the bill. The food was OK, the "performers" not as skilled as I have seen elsewhere. But it was fun. At the end, the bill was brought, a brother and I went through it and concluded it was correct and I paid by credit card and included a substantial tip. Then we sat for another 20 minutes or so talking. The place had empty tables so I knew we were not keeping people from eating. The workers were clustered at the kitchen door and kept peeking out towards me but did not come out. When I left, about 6 of my guests were still there talking. I only found out later what happened next. As soon as I was gone the servers came out and told my remaining guests that they, the servers, had failed to bill for all of the meals and (about) $25 was still owed. Someone had to pay before they could leave. My 23 year old nephew paid. I am appalled that my guest was asked to pay because of the mistake of the servers. They should not make such mistakes but had ample time to correct it before I left. Plus, I am convinced that there was no mistake. read more
