I have meen here 3+ time for work related events and each time they have done a tremendous job!!! Even when the party is 30ish people, they get all our drinks and orders in a timely manner and we are never waiting very long for the experience to start!! They do all the fun things... sake contest, catching broccoli in your mouth, onion volcano, ect!! They do even more when it's your birthday (disco ball!!!) I truly recommend the hibatchi dinner (even if you don't go to the show) it's delicious and I truly believe you get more food than other places!!! You get rice AND noodles!!! Such a disappointment! I have never felt so rushed at a hibachi restaurant. We had a table for 10 people to celebrate my son's birthday. Our server was very kind and nice, although a little bit forgetful. We sat down and ordered sushi and our food. The hibachi chef immediately came over and was done cooking within 30 minutes. We didn't even get our sushi appetizer until half of our meal was served. I'm thinking the chefs were having a contest to see who could get done the fastest. We were there for about one hour and five minutes from start to finish. We were there on Wednesday night, and there was only three tables there. If this is the service they give, I can understand why they're so slow. Our steak was undercooked and we ordered the medium rare, so that is pretty hard to do. I will not be going back. New Year's Day lunch to celebrate. Had to wait for a while til our table filled since we were first sat. Server was nice & they made sure to cook my food before the shrimp was cooked since I have a shellfish allergy. Chicken hibachi dinner I ordered included: Chicken, vegetables, fried rice, noodles, soup w/ mushrooms, small salad, and shrimp appetizer, sides of yummy & steak sauce. My family and I came in for dinner yesterday. Two of us had sushi and the others had hibachi. Service was good and everything went smoothly. The minute we finished eating, the family members that had sushi started complaining of their stomachs rumbling. I've dined here twice in the past two months - both times with my family at the hibachi tables. The hibachi chefs are entertaining and really have a lot of interaction with the table. We had a lot of fun! The hibachi itself is very good with plenty of food for leftovers. The salmon and shrimp hibachi dinners were very good. I've ordered sushi here as well and it was fresh & yummy. The presentation of the sushi was really pretty too. The only thing I didn't care for was that I ordered sushi as my meal and my family ordered hibachi; my sushi came out as the hibachi chef started cooking. The timing could be a little better as I felt a little awkward eating while everyone else was waiting. I ordered the sweet potato roll, the shrimp tempura roll, and the spicy crab roll. All were very good. If you're going there for just sushi or a non-hibachi meal, the other side of the restaurant is really pretty with the bamboo wall. The martinis from the bar were flavorful and well made. We enjoyed our first visit to Samurai Sushi. The service was excellent! Arrive right around opening time (Noon) and sat right down at a regular (non-Hibachi) table for 6. My mom ordered Maki combo, so I just had miso soup and Volcano roll to share with her. Son had enormous steak hibachi dinner. Wow, tons of food! Other kiddo (bday boy) had sushi & shashimi dinner and shared with husband who simply got chicken fried rice. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were pleasantly surprised that they picked up on the bday celebration and brought out ice cream with a candle and embarrassed our son with a son our the music speaker. So fun! This place was a hit or miss for me. Ordered the beef tartar, it was more like a grilled beef salad. Beef was a bit more cook than I preferred. I was expecting raw beef as most tartar are made. I also ordered the rainbow row. It was tasty but missing a lot of the fish. The fish was thinly sliced, and parts of it was covered by avocado instead of fish. I felt like this place cut corners. If you want fresh sushi, do not eat here. The fish was old, not prepared well tiny rolls with not much in them.. The salad is iceberg lettuce and microscopic shreds of carrot. Tiny portions, no cucumber no tomato. Nothing else just lettuce.. Really disappointing. read more

I was there this Friday for dinner and I ordered your typical hibachi dinner... well I decided to take the rest home and I while I was eating it later that night.. I found Saran Wrap in my food..it was balled up & looked like chicken... avoid this disgusting place. I went there yesterday for a full refund and they only wanted to give me half the amount in gift card form.. My wife and I went for lunch yesterday, not crowded and pretty good service. She had the shrimp hibachi and I had the Sushi lunch. Average quality, pretty much the same as any other NE Ohio "Japanese" restaurant. She asked for no dressing on her salad but got it anyway so I had to eat it. We arrived at 5:30 on Friday for hibachi, and we were underwhelmed. The cooking "show" was ridiculously quick, and my husband's steak lacked seasoning (taste). Yum yum sauce was gross; nothing like we hoped it would taste like. They pull deceptive shenanigans with reservations (e.g., you book at 6:00 PM but they claim you book at a later time once you arrive at the restaurant). We weren't the only group they did this to, as we heard 2 other groups protest the same as we did right after they did it to us. They only take reservations over the phone, so it's a "you said/they said" situation. Oh, and the food is "meh" at its best. Wow!! I've never been here before but have driven past it a MILLION times. I decided to go at lunch with one of my friends. I got there right at 11 as they opened. Inside was really nice and she sat us at a booth. For lunch they have really good specials where you can get soup salad and two rolls for really cheap! This was my first time at this hibachi spot. We came with friends who frequent this place and they had good things to say. We went for lunch and they have great deals! I wish I remembered to take a picture of the lunch menu. It's available everyday 11am-3pm Monday - Saturday, except holidays. I would recommend going for lunch because is about half what you would pay at dinner for the same amount and quality of food. Although my friends did say if you go for dinner you can get rice and noodles with your hibachi which of course who wouldn't love! Or you can add it as a side at lunch. I had the steak and shrimp hibachi and it came with fried rice, vegetables, salad and soup. For some reason every time I go to a steakhouse they always over or undercook my steak. My steak came out just as I ordered. My husband had the scallop hibachi and it was cooked to perfection. Very fresh! Had some sushi for the table. Which was also a great lunch deal 3 rolls for $11 or 2 for $8. Our table chef was very entertaining he offered sake from the squeeze bottle to our mouths. He also tossed small broccoli pieces to our mouths everyone participated except 1 person. We had a Great time! We were also celebrating a birthday and they played their happy birthday recording and they bring out this really cool candle to go with some complimentary vanilla ice cream. Great food & excellent service. Took my family of 5 for a dinner on a Friday night at around 9pm. We did not have reservations but it wasn't necessary as there was no wait for a hibachi table. We were seated immediately. Our server, May, was wonderful: So friendly & helpful. She took our drink orders as we were seated and they came out a short time after. We ordered shrimp, steak, chicken & salmon in different combinations from the hibachi menu. Our chef (I think his name was Ethan?) was very good. Good presentation, good attitude. He did the spin/twirl the spatula trick & the toss the egg trick. He also lit the hibachi table on fire and made the flaming onion volcano. Before our meals were ready, we were given salad with ginger-sesame dressing & onion soup. Both were excellent. The salad was cold & fresh as was the dressing. The soup was light & flavorful. The dinners all came with fried rice, noodles & vegetables. What a feast! I wasn't expecting the noodles so that was a bonus. The fried rice was exceptionally delicious. The whole meal was terrific & everyone in our party enjoyed it. One of my kids wanted plain white rice instead of fried rice & they accommodated her request. The portions are huge so we all had leftovers to take home. The price for each meal was about $20-$30 but that includes the soup, salad and the entree is so huge it's basically a double-portion so I think it's a great value for your dollar. We were so full, we declined dessert but they had some tasty options on their menu. There is ample free parking. This restaurant is in the vast Costco Plaza complex. Costco is nearby, as are Ulta, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Five Below, Best Buy, PetsMart, DiBella's and a few other businesses. The ladies room at the restaurant was clean & tidy. There are 2 stalls, one of which is handicap-accessible. That stall is large with a handrail. I'd like to commend May, our server. She was so kind & had a great attitude. I go to this hibachi every year for my birthday! The food is always fantastic and the experience is indescribable. We've always had Jason and he truly makes the experience. We had a variety of drinks ranging from roasted marshmallow, strawberry daiquiris, and the volcano. Our food ranged from hibachi chicken, shrimp, and salmon. The birthday song is catchy and they truly make you feel welcome here. I recommend this one to anybody and gladly make the 45 minute drive every year! read more

I normally get sushi but the hibachi is also good (I recommend making a reservation for hibachi on Fridays and Saturdays). Front-of-the-house manager Amy is such a nice woman and she always asks about my family when I come in. There are always special sushi rolls but I typically stick with my favorites - the sweetheart roll is my favorite. It's spicy tuna with avocado and tuna on top. I also love the sashimi, which is always fresh and delicious. My favorites are hamachi (yellow tail tuna) and scallop. They have a GREAT lunch special - 3 select rolls, soup, and salad for $11. I truly feel that this is the BEST hibachi option on the west side of Cleveland, especially when you consider the value. In the past, we would always go to Shinto (also a great option), but the Samurai has taken its spot. The atmosphere is celebratory on the Hibachi side of the restaurant. Really too loud for conversation with anyone other than the person right next to your ear. The space is cramped especially for me as I am a lefty and big. The extroverts has a lot of fun trying to catch the broccoli in their mouths and getting the sake squirted from a Catsup bottle across the grill and into their mouths. I am just not sure not that but now I know what it is like. Great place to go with people who want to get loud and rambunctious. I called ahead to verify they have gluten free options and they knew right away that they do. I let the wait staff know and she informed me they would prepare my meal in the back because the hibachi would not be gluten free. They brought my food out well before anyone else got their food. Which was awkward. She brought me 2 salads as the soup was not gluten free and she did let me know the pink sauce was gluten free but not the brown. The taste was delicious the shrimp were cooked to perfection and not overdone. Unfortunately I must have gotten contaminated because I was already suffering from a gluten headache within 2 hours, lasting into the next day as I write this. I loved the half off sushi tuesdays. That is the largest incentive to come here. Im also in love with yhe fried ice cream. It should be a staple after eating at any establishment. Allow for me to start off with a positive point first: the interior looks nice. Now, let's dive in. I decided to dine-in, and I ordered the coconut shrimp as an appetizer; it was edible but not quite the 'enjoyable' experience. The shrimp tasted like it was cooked in an ocean of peanut oil! Ok, so let's move on to the main dish I ordered: Chicken Pad Thai. I've had a lifetime of eating various recipes of this dish, and by far, this was the worst version I've ever tried. The first bite, and I was appalled that this would even be served to a human being with a straight face. I was waiting for the hidden camera crew to pop out, because it was the epitome of 'cooking for bae' in real time. The noodles were slimy, the chicken was lacking any texture, and it had a radioactive temperature that could only be manufactured by a microwave. I couldn't even put a dent in it, and opted not to eat anymore, nor did I want a to-go box. No dog on this green earth deserves to eat the leftovers of some Basketball Wife-Level cooking. I constructively expressed to my server that I didn't like the preparation of the dish, and was not given any courtesy to truncate the cost of the dish...so I 'ate' it with my wallet. Any one who's worked in the service industry for longer than 2 minutes knows that's not how you resolve a dissatisfied customer. I understand the bottom line has to be met and all, but was it really worth it in the end for them?? I don't think so, because all it did was prompt me to write this exposition of the lackluster service, on top of the abysmal food. Oh...I ordered a 'sweet tea', and I was expecting it to taste like southern sweet tea, but it just tasted like some diluted version of a Lipton's lemon flavor tea.
