This place is dirty AF. The detergent dispenser in every machine is grimy and moldy. There's always something wrong with the machines. But the owners are good at refunding you back if a machine breaks down. I was coming here for years. The final straw was when I saw a homeless man drying his dirty blanket in the machines. I figured out a way to install a portable washing machine and dryer in my apartment. It was quite the investment but so much more convenient and I have the ease of mind that my clothes are actually clean. read more

After driving my unmentionables to a laundromat on Clement for the past few months, I realized that I was becoming progressively anxious on the days I did my laundry. Will I find parking? Will all the machines be full? If they are full, what do I do to pretend like I'm an easy-going dude while simultaneously hovering over the washing machines with 5 minutes or less on the clock? How do I prepare myself to pounce on machines the second that neon socks and hyphy shirts are removed while retaining my class and dignity? Well, three months and a few prescriptions of Xanax later, I spent fifteen minutes walking around my block and discovered this place. I've only been once but my experience was top notch. The place was spotless in terms of cleanliness. There were only two or three people using the machines, and all the different types of machines are well labeled based on size. There are two change machines (one was broken at the time) and they will provide quarters for anything up to $20 dollar bills (take that, Sunshine Laundry!). Parking could be rough since there are no meters around, but if you're in walking distance, the location is great. Oh, and you know those carts that you put your laundry in between the washer and dryer? If anyone wants to try relay racing in them, please let me know. read more

I need to figure something out. The only reason I come here is because I live right across the street. This place is so disgusting. Old ass machines. Timers and temperatures are way off. Dirty as hell. There is someone who comes by once a day to collect the quarters, and another to "clean" before they close at 10pm. The clean consists of vacuuming the dryer screens, sweeping, and mopping. I wonder when the last time they cleaned the insides of the machines was. I need to find another place to do my laundry, even if it will be inconvenient. read more

As safe and clean place to be able to do your laundry. Best part of all, there are enough washers/dryers of all shapes and sizes to use, and they are always working. Not only do their machines not ever break down, they don't ruin your clothes, and I have been able to dry a 40lb load of laundry here in 16 minutes, or at the cost of 50 cents. Only advice I can give though is they get packed on Sundays. Every other time and day of the week, the place tends to be empty, and you are able to wash, dry, and fold your laundry and unmentionables in peace. read more

My local laundry place (when I do it myself, rather than dropping it off...check out Spring Cleaners on 22nd and Balboa if that's what you're looking for). Wash Mart is always spotless, probably because they thoroughly clean it every night (I see the guy do it a lot, I'm a night time laundry-doer). One con and the only reason they didn't get 5 stars is the hours are less than amazing. They close at 10. Midnight would be cool. Ah well. There are multiple coin laundry places around my neighborhood, but this place seems always crowded compared to others (just a few blocks away). Not sure why... maybe because it's on Cabrillo where the streets are wide and fairly quiet (for ease of loading/unloading laundry) and free parking is not too difficult to find (double park as needed). I like this place when I need to wash BIG items (blankets, sleeping bags) since I can unload them fairly easily just by myself walking from my parked car. Prices are comparable for the area, and the place is kept clean Feel pretty safe here without having to sit inside the laundromat for fear of people stealing/damaging clothes (don't miss those dorm days at all when you had to watch out for random pranksters with bleach/ink/etc.). I've lived out in the Richmond for 2 years already and still manage to go back to the 'rents in Sunnyvale to bum off their laundro-machines. Hey, nothing beats Free! However, when times calls for it, I come to Wash Mart for the following reasons: - I feel safe here, especially since I tend to wash at night - Operating machines. What a concept! during the times I've been here, everything appeared in working order - (At night), you can sorta "double park" and put on your emergency lights if you can't find a spot when you load/unload. There's not much traffic at night so the ability to do this helps a ton! As long as you are considerate and get in and out, opposed to just double park outside for 1+ hr of course...in that case, it's NOT OKAY. - Magazines, a few chairs to sit in One star deducted as the nice Asian owners are no longer managing this place? I (along with 2 other women) got majorly chewed out the other night by the barky new owner at 10:05PM for not having been gone by then (they close at 10PM). GEEEZ LADY....So-RRY!! read more

I am 100% convinced that the positive reviews on here are completely fake. This laundromat is totally disgusting. Things I hate about this laundromat: - There is regularly dirty water pooled on the ground outside the washing machines. - The inside of the machines are rarely, if ever, cleaned. I have never gone in there and used the first machine I opened, because most of them have sand, hair, forgotten underwear, excess soap, and other nasty things inside of them. - The staff that shows up at the end of the night to not clean the machines hassles you if you start a load within an hour of "last wash". Bullshit. - My clothes frequently come out dirtier and dingier looking than when I put them in, even from the newer machines. This is what happens when you don't do the proper maintenance on the machines. - You have to run the dryer for like an hour and a half just to get your laundry dry. I have lived near this place for over 6 years, and it has ALWAYS been this way. I thought when they got some new machines things would change, but after another year those machines were just as gross as the others. I can literally see this place from my house, which may be why I have such a passionate hatred for it, but I drive all the way to Wash 'N Dry Laundry in the Park Merced shopping center (57 Cambon Dr, San Francisco, CA 94132). They have staff there cleaning machines in between every load, the machines are fast, efficient, and reasonably priced, and there are several places to get a snack or hang out while you wait for your laundry. Then you can bring your snack back to the laundromat and eat it off the floor, because it's THAT clean in there. I highly recommend ditching this TERRIBLE laundromat for Wash 'N Dry Laundry! read more

Well, as far as laundromats (why is it laundromat and not laundrymat... wikipedia it!) go this is pretty standard. I think the best laundromat I've ever been to was on Forbes ave in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania, not CA. It was frickin' huge, shiney, and had a lot of arcade games. Including the one where you shoot frickin' aliens. I love to shoot frickin' aliens. I've been coming here for about 5 months now because it's close to the apt. The prices are good, and when I had a problem once Before it was taken care of by the owners..The Santo Family. Around a week ago I washed 200.00 worth of white towels. When I removed them from the dryer they had black sticky dots All over them. So I called the owner and spoke with him. When I got home I inspected the towels more carefully and realized This gunk was only on about half of them. So I called back and Left a message to let them know. I have only had these about 6 months so they are not ratty and ugly looking. I heard nothing. Today I come home and there is an envelope from them. In the envelope Was my handwritten complaint box note and a check for $2.50. That's right folks $2.50! No apology not even a fifty for damages. No one could dream up a more pathetic response. I wash 5 double loads a week times 4...do the math Santo family. You have lost a customer for good, if this is the way you conduct your business. Guess I'll have to buy a cart now and shlep it up to The place on Balboa. Oh and I've got to buy some new towels as well. read more

Love this laundromat. I've lived in the Richmond my whole life and used to go to a place on 32nd & Clement - half the machines were broken and they hardly ever cleaned the place. Wash Mart on Cabrillo is great -- I've always been lucky finding parking; never had any issues losing money in the machines; the dryers get nice and hot and the place is kept very clean. read more

This laundromat is very clean and well run. I had to do some laundry for a sick relative nearby and the machines were in excellent condition. The owners happened to be around and they replaced a quarter I lost in one of the dryers. Nice people and friendly too. I would rate this laundromat tops. read more
