Fontainebleau has apparently decided that telling customers what kind of food a restaurant serves is beneath them. First there's Mother Wolf. Italian food. Obviously. Then there's Washing Potato. Chinese food. Of course. "Washing Potato" sounds less like a restaurant and more like either a mistranslated appliance setting or something a farmer does before dinner. Nothing about the name says Chinese food. Nothing about Mother Wolf says Italian food. At this point, Fontainebleau could open a steakhouse called "Moist Hamster" and I'd just make a reservation. Fortunately, after eating at both places, you discover the names don't matter. Mother Wolf serves some of the best Italian food in Sin City, and Washing Potato does the same for Chinese. Washing Potato has a sleek, modern interior, but the person who designed the booths deserves some kind of hospitality Nobel Prize. The two-person booths are configured so you sit next to your date rather than across from them. Finally, a restaurant that understands romance. Instead of conducting dinner like a job interview from opposite sides of a table, you can cuddle, canoodle, whisper sweet nothings and steal food off your partner's plate with significantly less travel time. In Las Vegas, there are considerably more expensive ways to sit this close to someone. Then came the two house-made hot sauces, both excellent. The chili-oil-based sauce is the hotter of the two and has just enough kick to remind you that swagger and gastrointestinal tolerance are two entirely different things. Apply accordingly. The General Tso's chicken was outstanding--crispy, flavorful and good enough that the traditional concept of "sharing" was quickly abandoned. The Mongolian beef was equally excellent, but I have one piece of advice that could save your entire meal: DELETE THE BELL PEPPERS. Bell peppers are the squatters of the vegetable world. Invite one into your entrée and suddenly they've taken over the entire property. They don't enhance flavors. They don't blend in. They don't know their role. They arrive like a drunk uncle at Thanksgiving and make the entire evening about themselves. A perfectly innocent piece of Mongolian beef spends three seconds next to a bell pepper and suddenly tastes like a bell pepper. The onions taste like bell pepper. The sauce tastes like bell pepper. Your water starts tasting suspiciously like bell pepper. Remove those green terrorists and the Mongolian beef is terrific. By the end of dinner, I still had no idea why the restaurant is called Washing Potato. We didn't see anyone washing a potato. We didn't eat a potato. I'm not entirely convinced there was a potato anywhere in the building. But who cares? The food is excellent, the hot sauces are terrific, the booths encourage canoodling, and the Mongolian beef--once liberated from bell-pepper oppression--is a winner. Fontainebleau, keep naming restaurants whatever the hell you want. Five stars. Next time I'm hoping to try their new Mexican restaurant, "Vacuuming Turnip." read more

Up in heaven, my Taiwanese grandma is shaking her fist at me, scolding me for straying so far from my roots as to waste my money here eating gentrified, mid Chinese food. I'm sorry Grandma, I'm trying to use my Resy credit! Food: 2-3/5, mid to okay. Points to them for trying to maintain authenticity, but overall is overpriced and bland. Please for the love of god do NOT get the beef noodle soup- so bland. The har gow is not bad. The more I eat the Peking duck, the more I want to give this place a higher rating, it is very very delicious. Service and Ambiance: both 5/5, as what you'd expect for an upscale restaurant with this price tag. Overall: Price is pretty expensive for the food you get, which is mid to okay. Service and ambiance was great. Was it the worst? No. But would I come here again? No, when Chinatown is only a 10 min drive away and there are so many other places on the Strip. read more

Located near the South Entrance with playful lights beaming from the front wall. The Char Siu Bao buns were soft and steamed perfectly. This was the only dish out of 5 that I enjoyed. I liked the goji berry on the Shumai, but the flavor was okay. The Wonton Soup base was bland and lacked any broth flavor. I opted for ho fun noodles for the Wonton Soup and they were not cooked enough as they were still hard and didn't pull apart. The wontons were good and packed with shrimp, which was the only flavorful part of the Soup. There wasn't enough black bean sauce in the Pork Ribs with Taro. The Lobster dish is a small lobster, so not a lot of meat. I think the wait staff needs to be trained better. When a party orders lobster, the wait staff should provide an extra plate for the lobster shell. Or, change out the plates. Neither was provided as the servers were busy and almost ran into each other a couple times. Thanks to a locals discount, we were satisfied and impressed with our dinner at Washing Potato. Made a reservation the day of just in case but it wasn't needed. Although be mindful if it's during a holiday weekend then you MIGHT need a reservation. Located on the casino level, the exterior looks like a nightclub or a lounge entrance. Open kitchen concept and their lighting is pretty cool. Music wasn't loud although I wish it was to make it more lively. Chinese-Cantonese cuisine. You got your renditions of fried rice, noodles, soup noodles, appetizers like egg rolls, dumplings, wontons and of course dim sum dishes like shui mai, pineapple buns and bbq pork buns. Between the two of us, we ordered the following: -Shumai: pork and shrimp dumpling, goji berry. Each order comes with four pieces. Great, solid starter. Be sure to get some chili oil with this. -Char Siu Bao: aka bbq pork bun. Comes with three but they're pretty big. We had leftovers and it was great for breakfast. -1/2 Peking Duck: served with house-made pancakes, baby cucumber, and duck sauce. WOW!!!!! This was so good! Thinly sliced, no fatty pieces. Portions were plentiful for two people and I think it's good for even up to a party of four. The dumplings were decent, but not great and no sauces provided. The Wonton soup was horrible and the broth was actually "fishy." I actually could not eat it. I tried this place, and I'd have to say it exceeded my expectations! The portions are bigger than normal for a fancy dim sum restaurant in the Fontainebleau casino. I'd also say this is the newest casino with the best ventilation I've ever been to. It's very similar to Wynn, but more modern and elegant. I love the high vaulted ceilings. As for the restaurant, it feels like you're in a fancy club with teppanyaki-style seating. You can see the kitchen if you sit close to it. My favorites are the seafood trio, crispy roasted pork belly, and the beef chow fun. The siu mai and har gow were decent, but they don't stand out like the other dishes. I was pretty full and even had leftovers. I would definitely recommend trying it. I also love that they constantly refill your tea--I never had to ask. Washing Potato inside the Fontainebleau ended up being one of my favorite food finds during my stay in Vegas. I actually ordered takeout from here twice for dinner because everything I had the first time was so good. I didn't dine in, but the inside of the restaurant looked really cool and nicely decorated. It definitely had a fun vibe and felt like somewhere I'd want to sit down and eat next time instead of just grabbing takeout. Everything I ordered was delicious. The beef chow fun was great, and the chicken pot stickers were easily some of the best pot stickers I've had anywhere. I was told they're made fresh in house and you can absolutely tell. I also tried the char siu pineapple bun, which doesn't actually taste like pineapple, it's just baked to look like one, but it was really tasty. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were also excellent. The staff was awesome as well. I ordered at the bar and they were super helpful answering questions about the menu and giving recommendations on what to try. It's definitely a little pricey, but that's expected for Vegas and especially inside a resort. It was soo good and I was looking forward to that again. So instead we ordered two orders of pot stickers and spring rolls. Both were a table favorite. We've visited Washing Potato many times, so naturally we planned our Christmas Eve 2025 dinner here and were really looking forward to it, especially the duck salad - which has always been our favorite dish. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to learn that the duck salad has been removed from the menu. That was a tough start to the evening, especially since it was the main reason we chose to celebrate here. That said, we still enjoyed our dinner overall. The service was attentive, and I truly appreciate how seriously the staff takes food allergies. While my salt and pepper shrimp is also no longer officially on the menu (sadly!), the kitchen was kind enough to accommodate me by preparing it with rice flour, which I was grateful for. The food was enjoyable, and the staff did their best to make the experience pleasant but losing not one, but two of our most-loved dishes definitely took some of the magic away.:( Sadly, with the new menu changes, I'm not sure we'll return. When your favorite items disappear, it's hard not to miss what once made this place so special to us. The char siu bao were a little doughy and had very little meat inside. The Xiao Long Bao were amazing! The soup inside was savory and a generous ball of meat. The vibe was alright, nothing special but not bad either. If you're nearby and wanna check it out it's fine for a quick bite but I probably wouldn't make a special trip. It is a fine dining restaurant specializing in dim sum dishes. They also have a good varirty of other dishes. The ambiance was trendy, great lighting, and bright decor colors. The dress code was business casual. They have the friendliest staff, who stop to fill your water glass or bring something you may need. It's a teamwork approach that I appreciated. Our server was Cindy, who was very nice, attentive and very good at explaining the menu and which were the popular items. We started with cocktails. I had the Lychee Martini and my daughter had the Siete Leguas Reposado. Both drinks were delicious and refreshing. For our main course, I ordered the Beef Chow Fun, which was pretty good and the fried noodles were tasty. My daughter loves shrimp and ordered the Salt & Pepper Prawns dish, which she said was good. We split the Banana Spring Roll, which was like fried bananas with ice cream and was also good. We had a nice time, the music was great but a little too loud. The hostess stand was able to squeeze us in which was super nice, and the inside is so stinking cute. You're sitting up on a lit platform with great music, and a full view of the restaurant. Our server was super sweet and very helpful in answering our questions about the menu and getting us a drink right away. We were eyeballing the pre-fix menu but when doing the math we decided we'd rather try a bunch of different items instead. One thing I appreciated about service is the food comes to your table as soon as it's ready. So you're getting piping hot food EVERY time. We got the Peking duck salad, pork and chile wontons, pan fried prawn and chive dumplings, XLB, salt and pepper prawns. The salad was shockingly my favorite part! The dressing pulled everything together and it was so light, refreshing, and filling at the same time. The prawns were HUGE, and you got quite a few of them. All the dumplings/wontons were good and the fried prawn dumplings were massive. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 star is I'm not craving to go back. Don't get me wrong, it was all excellent and if you're there I would definitely say it's a good stop. But I didn't have a bite that was mind blowing, massive craving good. We were looking for a new Chinese / Dim Sum /Noodle spot in Las Vegas and decided on Washing Potato inside the Fontainebleau Hotel/Casino. The atmosphere was new and modern with a touch of class. The restaurant was clean and well organized - everything was in the right place. Our server was "Pen" - she was awesome and had details and recommendations for every category of food on the menu. I'm a fan of Beef Chow Fun so I asked her about that and a few other dishes. She (Pen) was friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic throughout each course and dish presentation. Pen was an A+ 10/10. The food was fresh, hot dishes were hot, and cold dishes were cold - that's a great start. We started with the cucumber salad and chicken satay appetizers and were thrilled from the start - both dishes were excellent and presented well. A+ 10/10 Next up we had the shrimp and chive dumplings (Pen recommended them) - again, they were excellent (one of the best dim sum dumplings we've ever had). A+ 10/10 Next up the Beef Chow Fun - presentation was excellent, flat noodles delicious, beef was tender and not sliced too thin, onions/green onions/sprouts were all fresh and the overall presentation and taste was way above standard for such a simple Chinese noodle dish! The food here is good, it tastes like authentic Chinese food and not Americanized (i.e. full of sugar, too much salt, sesame oil and orange sauce on everything). So much so, that I came here twice during my 3 day stay at the Hilton Resorts World. The ambiance is also nice, the floor plan is organized and I appreciated facing the aisle so I could see the entirety of the restaurant. the ambiance when you walk in gives classy evening vibes. they are fully staffed so you are always attended to. the menu was nice to hold a book. all the items came out in a timely manner. i loved the uniqueness of the scallop shuimai and the crunchiness of the noodles. one of the other dishes we had was too salty and they staff offered to remake it no problem. i hope next time im there they add shrimp rice rolls to the menu. read more

God, this place was epic! We were looking for some chinese food around and was curious to see such a high end and luxurious place for just some dim sum. We tried the scallop shumai and was so delighted by it, it was amazing. The spicy wontons were perfectly seasoned with a delicious chili oil. You can't really get sick of how beautiful this place is on the inside. You really feel the Vegas vibe with some chinese comfort food. The service was spectacular, prices were normal for the Strip. This spot is located inside the Fontainebleau hotel, so you're definitely paying that "Strip price"--very expensive, but kind of expected given the location and setting. The environment is modern and nicely done, which adds to the overall experience. Food-wise, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The chicken was quite dry, and while the duck had good flavor, it was also slightly on the dry side. That said, I did appreciate the traditional crispy skin on the Peking duck--that part was done well. Overall, the flavors across the dishes were solid. The beef noodle soup was actually really good and one of the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the food. The waitress got my order wrong and then tried to shift the blame onto me, which was frustrating and took away from the experience. On a positive note, my baby received free egg tarts, which was a nice touch--can't beat free! Overall, you're paying for the location and ambiance. Some dishes shine more than others, but service could definitely use improvement. read more
