We were visiting Las Vegas in late April, just before my knee replacement surgery, to enjoy the reimagined film The Wizard of Oz at The Sphere. However, while enjoying the beautiful, sunny yet slightly cool weather, we found ourselves at Resorts World's newest premium hotpot spot featuring lamb. I had made dinner reservations through the OpenTable system and arrived just as they opened their dinner service. The hostesses greeted us with welcoming smiles and promptly seated us in comfortable, posh-looking banquette seating in their dining room. Our friendly and professional server, Romeo, quickly stopped by to explain the various menus, which helped us since this was our first visit to this hotpot restaurant. We've heard of the Happy Lamb Hotpot, which features AYCE and more casual, family-friendly, and value-oriented menus. We started with a signature cocktail (Buttered Plum Old Fashioned) and a mocktail (Honeydew Lemon Spritz). At the same time, Romeo suggested we share their Tasting Menu, priced at $108 per person, which offered choices of appetizers, long-simmered hotpot broths, meat and seafood, and dessert. The Tasting Menu also included a variety of garden vegetables and noodles. As Romeo delivered each beautifully plated, flavorful course, we couldn't help but admire the platters and bowls. We were impressed by the high quality and plating of the Australian King of Lamb platter, as we were there for tender, succulent, flavorful (non-gamey) lamb. Our selection of broths (Wagyu Spicy Marrow and Wagyu Bone Marrow) is bubbling hot and served in a split Yin-Yang pot. Luckily, the Wagyu Spicy Marrow broth was not overly spicy, offering a rich, beefy marrow flavor with a slight kick from chili peppers. We loved the ambiance, friendly and efficient service, and most of all, the variety of flavors and textures, and wouldn't hesitate to return to Copper Sun Hot Pot and BBQ. read more

The wife and I dined at Copper Sun on a Saturday night. While I'm no stranger to hot pot and have enjoyed it at other spots in town, it's not my favorite type of restaurant. That said, we were intrigued by this new entry onto the Strip dining scene and wanted to give it a try. We had reservations for 5pm not that we likely needed them at the opening of their dining service. We were seated immediately at a booth in the front of the restaurant. I started off with a cocktail, the Peanut Butter Boulevardier, while we looked over the menu. I'm usually a bit skeptical of peanut butter-flavored spirits, but I do love a Boulevardier so I was willing to give it chance. It was boozy, yet balanced, with peanut butter notes being far more subdued and natural tasting than I expected. It was an enjoyable drink. Copper Sun isn't an AYCE hot pot spot. We decided on their set menu for two, which was comparably-priced to other hot pot restaurants both off-Strip and on offering premium meats like wagyu in an AYCE setting. While I don't remember the specific A5 cuts that we had, we did receive A5 wagyu, the Beef and Lamb combo, vegetable and mushroom combo, mussels, shrimp paste, hand-pulled noodles, a couple of sides, and dessert. I had the Yuzu Cheesecake. All of the food was vibrant in its presentation, high quality, and clearly fresh. Obviously, with hot pot, it all boils down (pun intended) to the broths to give the raw ingredients its punch. For our broths, we opted for the Wagyu Spicy Marrow Broth and the Golden Cabbage Marrow Broth. Both were excellent...hands down the best I've ever had. Both broths were aromatic, enormously flavorful, and possessed wonderful mouth feel that was likely from the marrow. However, be forewarned, the Spicy Marrow was less spicy than the Golden Cabbage. In my mind, though, I preferred the lamb over the wagyu since lamb offered a more flavorful starting point as a protein than the beef, which provided an more interesting foundation for the two delicious broths. The vegetable and mushroom combo was nothing special. I don't recall if it was an option, but perhaps tofu would've been a better choice. My Yuzu Cheesecake was a wonderful ending to my meal. In the end, Copper Sun was an enjoyable experience. Service was attentive and very good. The setting was modern and upscale. While the food and my cocktail were both quite good, I didn't perceive either to be excellent value especially when compared to other hot pot options around town. It wouldn't be my first choice to return the next time I go out for hot pot. read more

I can't really say I had any expectations going in. We like a good hot pot and have been to several both here in Vegas and in other cities. That being said I did enjoy the experience, though I've enjoyed more (for less cost) at other locations. I started out with the Paloma Sunset $23; while good, I'm not sure it was special enough to warrant the price tag (I know strip pricing..). We decided to go with the spicy and golden cabbage bone marrow broths, along with beef and lamb combo ($58), as well as mushroom and vegetable combo ($22) and finally some hand-pulled noodles ($10). The broth - delicious; lots of garlic in the spicy broth but I think the golden cabbage broth was probably my favorite. It just had so much flavor that enhanced the meat that was cooked in it. I think my biggest disappointment was a toss up between the noodles and the veggies that were brought out. For the veggies, there was some bok choy/parsley, a few carrot spirals, and some lettuce, along with the mushrooms. It would have been nice to have a little more carrot, or add corn for texture in the cooking and more mushrooms. The noodles I did not find as good as other hand-pulled noodles I've had in this town. So while it was a very enjoyable meal I'm not sure it will be high on our list to go back to any time soon. read more

i have to say the experience at this restaurant was one of a kind, we were taken into a private room with a full course of japanese A5 wagyu, lobster, king crab and lamb trays. the hearty tomato marrow broth hotpot left a special place in my heart, i need to come back for it! it was such a one of a kind flavor that upon mixing my meats in my broth gave it such a uniquely tasting flavor that leaves me wanting more! the cocktails made in house were delightfully unique especially their lychee martini is a must! our service was beyond amazing but also we were in the private rooms so that definitely is expected, overall the experience here was top of the line and was worth the thousands of dollars spent here as a group we all truly enjoyed the experience. read more

So I'm here to give you the best review I can on Copper Sun*~ Located inside Resorts World, near the mini version of the sphere, you'll find a swanky modern hot pot restaurant that seats less than 100. It is not AYCE, guests have to order a la carte which I prefer. My husband and I wanted to try as many broths as we can so we ordered the Wagyu Bone Marrow, Spicy Bone Marrow & Tomato Wagyu Broth. They were all VERY flavorful and delicious you honestly can't go wrong with picking either. I'd say the presentation of selected dishes came out so beautiful! Of course one must eat with their eyes. We enjoyed the following: - Beef & Lambo combo $58: get it, it's delicious - Wales Lamb Toro: pretty good - Beef Tripe: fresh, delicious - House Shrimp Paste: my favorite, must have! - Veggie Mushroom Combo: don't skip this! - Hand Pulled Noodles: yum Service was great! A beautifully done hot pot on the Las Vegas strip. Although pricey, the presentation, flavor and service was top tier. Highlights: The lobster truffle puff pastry was a delicious bite! Tiny but flavorful and perfect texture. Broth: Tomato broth was full of flavor & not too sweet - my favorite. Golden cabbage and spicy marrow - both were spicy!!! I didn't expect golden cabbage to be. Spicy marrow was perfect for my friend who loved spice!! Meat: delicious, flavorful cuts, and very fresh. This is totally a nice addition to Resorts World. I'm super happy they added this restaurant. You can get up to three broths. We opted for the two broth selection and did beef marrow and spicy beef marrow. If siracha is spicy for you then the spicy beef marrow is likely to be too much for you. The service was attentive and they have a sauce bar that they bring to you. If you're unfamiliar tell them was kind of taste you like and they'll make you something! The restaurant is clean and it's super close to the casino. I would come here again. read more

Friend dragged me here off the Strip and wow... this spot was amazing. Best quality meats & great service, legit from the hosts to the servers. Super friendly, super on point. Everything came out sizzling and perfectly cooked, super juicy and flavorful. Total Instagram-worthy spot too, our whole table was snapping pics before we even ate lol. After giving the Strip another shot for the first time in a while, Copper Sun reminded us exactly why we usually stick to off-Strip restaurants. To be fair, the ambiance is nice. The decor is very eye-catching, and the tables are spaced far enough apart to give a sense of privacy while still maintaining an open, airy feel. Unfortunately, that was one of the few highlights of the experience. We went with the prix fixe menu, and while the food itself was just okay, it essentially felt like a very overpriced hot pot experience. Nothing about it justified the price, and we left feeling unsatisfied. The service made things worse. Our slices of meat were delivered first, but the vegetables didn't arrive until about 20 minutes later. For a restaurant at this price point, that kind of timing is unacceptable. The lack of attention continued through the meal. When dessert was brought out, we actually had to ask them to clear the table first. Even then, they didn't bother wiping down the spilled liquids all over the table from the hot pot, which made for a pretty unappetizing finish. Dessert itself was underwhelming and forgettable -- definitely not the highlight they seemed to think it was. We even left debating whether to find another spot for a small dessert just to fill that empty feeling that we had not eaten enough. Overall, overpriced, poorly executed, and disappointing across the board. Definitely not enough here to justify a return or to recommend a visit. read more

I had high expectations coming into Copper Sun by Happy Lamb for what was supposed to be a memorable weekend dinner in Vegas with friends, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. We had a 7:30 PM reservation and didn't receive any food, not even the soup base, until nearly an hour later. There was no communication, no updates, and no sense of urgency from the staff. It wasn't until I asked for a manager and filed a complaint that anything finally started moving. What made things worse was the lack of follow-up. The manager never came back to check on us, and overall service felt completely absent. At one point, a server even mentioned that the chefs currently "suck," which was honestly shocking to hear at a place trying to present itself as a high-end hot pot restaurant. We ended up spending most of our final night in Vegas just sitting there waiting, which completely killed the vibe of what was supposed to be a fun and memorable evening. If you've experienced The X Pot, the difference is night and day. Copper Sun doesn't come close in terms of service, execution, or overall experience. To their credit, they did offer a discount on the bill, but at that point the time and experience were already lost. This is not how we Vegas. read more

For 2 people we didn't order that much it was $200 and is not all you can eat and very little amount of food. The chicken salad was very average. Put a warning label on the menu for the Golden Cabbage Marrow Broth - it is not merely "zesty", it is acutely and painfully spicy hot and causes complete numbness in your mouth & lips, and you can thereafter not taste anything for another half hour. The wait staff have very little English, and rather than discrete and demur, I would call them uninvolved and uninterested. Perhaps the cultural experience is lost in translation. read more
