My partner and I came here after being given huge estimates from a dentist in San Diego. After doing a ton of research and reading all of the reviews we decided to use Washington Dental Clinic. JP was the concierge that helped us through the whole process and he was great. It was a super easy walk across the border. Their taxi picked us up and dropped us off. Had a really nice coffee at a charming coffee shop next-door. All in all just a really nice day and a fabulous experience. (who says that about a day going to the dentist !?) Plus! I went in there with an $800 estimate and my partner went in there with a $3000 estimate and we were told that both of those were unnecessary so we were both able to leave with a $40 cleaning. Awesome and cost effective dental work just a hop skip and jump across the border. I had visited my dentist in Culver City and they recommended a crown for a somewhat broken molar. They quoted me $2,000, which just didn't seem right. I wasn't in that much pain and that seems like a lot of money. They did provide photos of the damaged tooth, though, showing that the work needed to be done. But I didn't want to pay that much. So, I did some research on tiktok and found Washington Dental. Reached out to them via email and they setup a nice appointment for a Saturday. Crossing the border is easy and if you tell the people at the border crossing you're going to Washington Dental, they'll give you a lift for free and WD will pay. (but, just be sure to confirm this first with your driver). Checked in, and waited five minutes and then they called me in. The whole process took maybe 45 minutes each visit (it takes a total of two to do it), and here I am, 2 months later with a few extra bucks in my pocket and a new crown! read more

Father bought dentures couple years ago and 16 teeth in total fell out after 4 years of use (and regluing) We decided to give a "NEW" pair a try.. they lasted 6 weeks then 2 teeth fell out. My father doesn't live near Tijuana, so he mailed them to me, we got them "fixed" and guess what.. 1st day after they were sent back, ANOTHER tooth fell out Dentist office says they don't have records to make a new pair and he must be present. Didn't give us any direction on how to fix the issue and now we're $2500 into 2 sets of teeth that keep falling apart. I have sent dozens of friends and family here over the past 8 years and now regret ever giving them business. Terrible service, terrible care and don't take responsibility for their actions. DO NOT USE. Washington Dental ruined my teeth. They extracted a tooth and put/left a hole in my sinus. I also got dry socket. They left glue on the temporary crown which cut my cheek. The temporary crown fell off. The temporary bridge fell off. The resulting pain and cost to resolve the problems is still ongoing. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from Washington dental. I went to Washington Dental 11 days ago to have my upper wisdom teeth removed since they were now scratching the inside of my mouth and causing pain and discomfort. I exchanged some emails with JP and he answered all my questions and scheduled my appointment. JP welcomed me upon arrival and guided me to the MRI room and explained the issues with my top wisdom teeth and the cost to remove them and advised I seek a specialist for the bottom wisdom teeth as they were too close to the mandibular nerve. We proceeded with a cleaning first and I was numbed during the cleaning to prepare for the extraction of the top wisdom teeth. Dr. Pena performed my extractions and it only took him less than a minute per tooth. Completely painless! I was provided with pain medication, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication and went on my way to the border. My recovery has been perfect. I've had no pain the entire time and very minimal swelling. Overall my experience with Washington Dental was great and I have recommended their services to friends and family. read more

Really great first experience with this Dentist. I had a cleaning in the States one month ago and was informed that I should get a crown and two cavities filled. Upon inspection and an additional X-ray at Washington Dental, Dr. Ruiz informed me that that the crown would be unnecessary as the filling was sealed very well. Further, the "cavities" were coffee stains and would not need to be filled. I sincerely appreciate the honest feedback from the doctor and the professionalism of exhibited by JP - who was a pleasure to work with before and during my visit. One of the best dental experiences I've had, and I'm quite the dental wimp! Dr Peña was obviously very knowledgeable and had a very gentle touch, especially when it came to giving injections. They explained everything in detail, had state of the art equipment, and even offered a fluffy fleece blanket in case the AC was a little much. They also have their own taxis that will pick you up at the pedestrian crossing and take you back, courtesy of the clinic. 10/10, I'll be back and my bestie said the same! read more

So easy! The clinic has taxis literally at the end of the pedestrian crossing. I walked across and was driven maybe 5 minutes to the clinic. Once there I had night guards made for $50 vs $1000 usd at home. While I waited I walked literally 100 steps to Rocco and Milo for amazing coffee and breakfast. Then was driven maybe 5 minutes to the shuttle which took me back. Unlike many US dentists which will lie to you and tell you your teeth are about to fall out, this place was full of honesty! We were scheduled to go on a family vacation within a week and my 17 year old son was experiencing a sudden increase of pain with his wisdom teeth coming in. We arrived at Washington Dental (drove ourselves) at around 10 AM on a Tuesday. After signing in at the front desk, we were in the office less than 15 minutes before my son was called back to get a 3D X-ray taken which allowed Dr. Guerrero to see exactly what the issue was with his teeth. JP, one of the Office Consultants assigned to manage our visit, explained Dr. Guerrero's recommendation to have one of the wisdom teeth extracted and went into great detail explaining the steps of the surgery. My son was in surgery for less than 30 minutes and came walking out and ready to go home. Dr. Guerrero prescribed my son pain medication, anti inflammatory medication, as well as antibiotic medication and also provided us with detailed and easy to understand at home care instructions. Since the removal of wisdom teeth is considered surgical, Washington Dental even provided us with a Medical Pass to bypass the lengthy line at the border to pass back into the United States, which made the situation much more convenient and comfortable for my son following surgery. I would also like to mention that the whole office was incredibly spacious with lots of natural lighting and very clean. The waiting room had more than enough comfortable chairs to relax in, along with a large flatscreen TV on the wall to view while waiting. They also offer a variety of complementary refreshments. The entire dental staff as well as the front office staff were all extremely helpful and courteous and our consultant JP was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough in answering all of our many questions. A dental issue that would have costed much more money, not to mention time, was taken care of quickly and efficiently, and we could not be happier with the service that Washington Dental provided our family! read more

I thought if I could share my experience with Washington dental, it would give people confidence to make the trip. My parents actually started going to Washington dental well over 30 years ago. I've been going for close to 20 years. The entire staff is great. They all speak English and the clients there are primarily all Americans. They have people that are patient coordinators that check you in and help you communicate all your request to the dentists. Personally, I have been seeing Edna and the dentist that I see is Dr. Peña. Edna it's always very helpful when I go in or if I call. Dr. Peña is absolutely the best. Over the years I have had routine cleanings, x-rays, cavities filled, some teeth pulled, and crowns, I've had an implant and I've had a bridge in the front of my mouth upper teeth. Its looks amazing. The quality of the work and the care is as good as the best that you can find on the San Diego side. The prices are probably 25 to 30% of the best dentists in the USA. I think a lot of people are confused about how to get down there. What I do is I drive to the very last exit, which is Camino de la Plaza. After I exit and I get to the stoplight, I make a left then I go over the bridge, then I make a right at the very first stoplight. On the right hand side there is a parking lot. There are multiple parking lots, but this is the one I use. It cost $10 to park there for the day. Then I walk across the border and enter on foot. It's very easy to do. I would say from the parking lot to the building that you enter to get into Tijuana it's maybe 3/4 of a mile. Once you get through the checkpoint. Obviously you need proper identification/passport. You walk through the other side and it leads you out through a series of paths until you get to a gate and there are taxis waiting right there. Take a green and white taxi. Just tell the driver to take you to Washington Dental. It's about a five to seven minute ride. Washington dental will pay for your taxi there and back, and if you bring your parking ticket and they will pay a portion of that. Once you get there, they will come out and pay the taxi. Then you sign in. There's a very nice waiting room with drinks, Internet, etc. eventually, one of the patient coordinators will call you in and you can discuss why you are there. After that, you'll be examined by a dentist and eventually they will make their recommendation of what to do. They will answer all of your questions and concerns and explain the entire process. Depending on the work, it may take multiple visits. Once you are ready to go back, they will call a taxi or one will be waiting , they will take you right back to the San Ysidro border, where the line to get back in starts. Some days the line is very quick and there have been times. I've waited a couple of hours. They will have people walking up and down the line offering to get you across faster but they charge. I just take the time to wait in the line. Eventually, you get through the gate and into the US side, where you process back in through US customs. Then you walk out of the building and back to the parking lot where you parked your car and you're done. I guess the first time you do it might be a little overwhelming which is why I wrote this out to share with people. Once you see a doctor and a patient coordinator, if you're happy with them, you can request them again, which is exactly what I do. Dr. Peña is better than any dentist I have seen in the USA and Edna makes me very comfortable when explaining and going through anything that is going to happen or answering my questions. Before you go, if you have any questions, just call them on the number on their website. They're extremely helpful. I haven't taken the time to write a review like this for anything else, but because it's such a great place to go for dental work and very much more affordable than anything on the USA side! read more

DO NOT GO TO WASHINGTON DENTAL, stay away at any cost ! Doctor was terrible, very incompetent . Terrible care and they don't take responsibility for their actions ! I heard a lot of bad stories about dental treatment, but what happened to me is quite unique ! I would not believe this story if it haven't happen to me. Came to this clinic with the simple task - treat 2 teeth which were very important in order to keep my denture in place and extract of two other teeth with lost bones. Beginning was good, I have a root canal and crown done for those important teeth. Nightmare begins a few week later when I came for extraction of those not needed teeth - I was under anesthesia and could not feel what doctor was doing..but when I looked at mirror after the procedure - I was totally shoked- doctor ( same one ! ) have extracted same teeth he have treated a few weeks ago! I can't image what he was thinking about ! I can't express ( without using F words) what I think about this doctor ! that happened few weeks ago and my life become miserable - my denture is very loose, I can eat just very soft food. My mouth is in much worse condition than it was before..Now I have to spend a lot of money to fix that absolutly insane treatment. Yes, they refunded money I spent over there, but how they can reimburse the damage what has been done, my mouth terrible condition and future treatment to fix it is very expensive ( need a few implants ) don't even think to go to this clinic! read more

I have been coming to Washington Dental for a few years now. Easy to cross border and take taxis to facility where the office pays for the taxi both to and from facility. No appointment necessary as they are well staffed with dentists, surgeons and dental assistants- many who speak English. My understanding is more that 90% of patients are from the US. Facility is clean, equipment up to date, professional looking. Staff are friendly, experienced and honest. Dr. Carolina Vazquez, is fabulous, painless and only recommends what you need. Over the years I have had implants, crowns, teeth cleaning - all very affordable. Jorge at the front desk is so helpful with details of service and cost. I have been able to save thousands of dollars here versus sane services in San Diego. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Ok, my wife went to a shady dentist a few years ago in Tijuana. (Other Dentist) They did a (deep clean)? and broke prior dental work and did a filling for my wife. The filling didn't last 2 years. My wife went back to that Dentist and they now said they need to do more work on the tooth and it would be $150+ She didn't want them to do anything and just left I told my wife lets go to Washington Dental as they have saved me twice before. I called and Spoke to Mario- no appointments were needed and we arrived around 11AM. Even though they were very busy she was seen within 15mins and we left at 11:45. They took care of her tooth and it was only $45. She couldn't believe how quick and painless everything was. Now she is telling her friends about Washington Dental! When I came to Washington Dental my teeth were a mess, many years of different dentists, and they straighten it out! I love my teeth, Dr Ramirez constructed a ledge behind my upper teeth, that fits my lower teeth perfectly, I chew better than I've ever chewed in my life! At my age, I know nutrition is important, and if you can't chew, you begin too avoid foods you should be eating, not good. I had major dental work done here 4 years ago, and it has been by far, the best customer service experience I've ever had at any establishment, especially at a dentist office. Upon arrival, I noticed the place was very clean and all the staff were well dressed. There were complimentary refreshments available, a big screen TV, and a visible Password to jump on WI-FI. These small accommodations made for an easy wait time while other clients were cared for. When I was called back to my room, I immediately noticed how well everyone worked together to get my process started. As a skeptic I couldn't help but notice that all the equipment was new and in top notch condition. My exam, x-rays, and initial molds were done in a timely manner as the team worked together like a well oiled machine. The Dr. came in and discussed with me my condition, expressed all options and recommendations. I didn't feel any pressure to move in any direction, they were very informative of what it would take to get and maintain a healthy smile. While there, I had 6 Crowns A 3 tooth bridge A 7 tooth bridge And 3 root canals, at a fraction of what it would cost in the States.(Florida) I am an active Rugby player and the game is a high impact sport. I can't be more pleased with how well my teeth have been throughout these past 4 years, as I have had NO PROBLEMS or issues. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this clinic. The glue they used for veneers is inferior, causing the teeth to fall out frequently. They don't use that bonding type of glue with the light. Also, the dentist unnecessarily removed too much of the healthy teeth below so that the subsequent dentist has little to work with. I feel terrible about this as I had recommended this place to a friend who is now suffering with teeth frequently falling out. I only had my teeth cleaned there and didn't feel like they did a good job just at cleaning my teeth. Think like your untrained well meaning friend is cleaning your teeth. Also, they have people there who kind of "handle" you. These folks are like the sales men. They kind of charm and cajole and pressure you- think car salesmen- in the guise of being the language and cultural translators. They pressured my friend into paying lots of cash up front. The dentist spoke English, but access to any conversation with him was limited and there was always this pressure to decide everything quickly. There were lots of care decisions made under pressure this way. You won't have an appointment, so you are waiting in a large very large clean room with other Americans and a big TV. We always arrived right at 8 AM so didn't have to wait long but there is this feeling of uncertainty and that you are lucky to be seen. There are also a few creepy serious guys working there who might be security? but we felt uneasy about them. I chalked a lot of these things up to cultural differences at the time. In retrospect, We should have just walked out of there right from the beginning. This place might be ok for filling a simple cavity but I wouldn't go there for anything major. My friend went back within the 2 year window and had several teeth glued back in but they fell out again in under a month. So now he is out of luck with front teeth falling out and no recourse. read more

Just took a short trip across the border with my sister who was getting some work done so I decided to get my teeth clean. This place is super clean the staff was friendly and very professional. Don't be worried about the quality of work because the dentist are the best at half the price of dentist in the states. Most people are worried about coming across the border but have no fear it's safe. Plenty of parking in front of the office and they will give you a pass to get you into the express lane when you leave this will save so much time crossing over if you decide to drive which I do. If you are don't want to pay US prices, if you want a quick fix on a tooth or so, and don't care about quality of the work, the longevity of the work, cosmetics, and general mouth care, then this place is for you. I've had a lot of work done with them. Time after time their work is unacceptable and of low quality. I am not sure why I didn't change dentists, maybe because they were convenient, cheaper, because finding Mexican dentists is a pain in the rear, especially if you are not Mexican or speak Spanish. But I am done. I am having to redo all of the work they did. My complaints. 1. Dentists are hit and miss. Some are good (Dr. Corona) but others are terrible, incompetent butchers. You never know what you are going to get. 2. Their dental work doesn't last. Root canals need to be redone. 3. Whoever makes their crowns has no idea what they are doing. Crowns are not long enough and don't fully cover the tooth down by the gumline, leading to introducing bacteria into the tooth, which further can turn into gum disease (despite flossing and using waterpick) and then into bone loss. Don't ask me how I know. 4. Yes, they have 2 years warranty on their crowns but even if you ask them to redo them, their workmanship is poor and you are in the same boat. 5. Had a temporary bridge put in place and was in a lot of pian. Went there a few days later and was told, "oh, the other doctor didn't seal it well. Let me make the impression again and take it upstairs where we do the good stuff and the new dentist will do the good seal, don't worry, we'll fix it." Well, why didn't you do it right in the first place!? Why didn't you use the "good stuff" to begin with, especially considering I am paying you "good money" for it?! 6. They put a bridge in my mouth that shouldn't have been put in place. I noticed the gap between the crowns and the gumline because it started turning black (see photo) and because food constantly got stuck there. Since it is still under warranty, I asked the dentist to fix it last time I was there a week ago. You can imagine my surprise when I heard, "I am sorry, we can't fix that. It looks like there is some bone loss. The only thing we can do at this point is pull your teeth, place two implants, and then attach a third tooth to that. We won't charge you for the crowns since you already paid for that but you will need to pay the 2K for the implants." Seriously? First they tried to tell me that the bone loss occurred since the bridge was put in place but then looking into my x-rays from before the work was done and my x-rays taken at the time of my complaint, they saw that my bone looked like that before the bridge was put in place 3 months ago. Excuse me but why did the old dentist agreed to put a bridge in my mouth if there was bone loss? Why did they do that, knowing it was not the right choice? Just to charge me and hope I won't notice that the crowns don't go all the way to the gum? Almost everything they did in my mouth had to be redone. Most of those repairs I paid for because it was after the two years. Two repairs need to be done currently (still under warranty) but I am not sure if I want to go there. They are simply incapable of doing a good work. After years of constantly going to the dentist and spending tens of thousands of dollars, my mouth looks like a wreck and I have been in pain for the majority of the time. I think it is time for a new dentist. Don't waste your time and money with these people. There is no concern with overall dental health and aesthetics. Each one gave us high amount of fee ( almost $24,000) for unnecessary treatments. One of my friends recommended Washington Dental. I started to chat with the clinic. A nice gentleman, JP, from the clinic gave me all the information about pricing and timing. He recommended me good hotels, transportation and etc. We drove our car to Tijuana thinking we need 5 crowns and root canals and also deep cleaning. Surprisingly, the dentists at this clinic found out that we needed only one root canal for me and one crown for my husband. We decided to do teeth cleaning too. Total turned out $1080. They were very clean, kind and organized. We saved a lot of money and time over there, so we went to a two days vacation to Cabo San Lucas during the time that my husband's crown was made.
