My office sends patients downstairs to Foxhall MRI all the time, and the receptionist there, her name is VANESSA, is AWESOME. she is VERY accomodating and sweet. PLUS she always has a bowl of chocolate on the table so I can grab a few pieces each time i go visit. can't complain! Plus, service is superfast all the time, no waiting! tip: if you have a iffy insurance make sure you call them before and get PRE-AUTHORIZED for a MRI. this will save u about 30 minutes!!! read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I should have known from the start this was going to be a disaster, I just didn't realize how bad. First red flag: I had to fill out ALL the paperwork again because the forms I'd already submitted online never made it to the office. When I brought this up, the receptionist actually said, "I wish they would stop doing that, we don't get those forms!" Excuse me?? This is apparently a known, ongoing problem and nobody has bothered to fix it? Then there's the website itself, the instructions on Washington Radiology's site were either wrong or so vague they were useless, to the point that the tech herself disagreed with them. The site clearly states: "Do not eat or drink two hours before your exam." So when the tech couldn't find a vein for the contrast, she rudely demanded to know when I'd last had something to drink, as if I were the problem, when I was literally following the instructions on their own website. Her first attempt, on my left arm, failed, and her immediate instinct was to blame me instead of her technique. I asked her to try my other arm, since that's where other techs have always had success and she completely ignored me and went right back to jabbing at the same arm again. Nothing about her performance that entire visit inspired one ounce of confidence that she knew what she was doing. Another red flag: the tech asked me about the composition of surgical staples in my body and when I said I didn't know, she had nothing to say. No follow-up, no explanation. If that information mattered, I should have been told to find it out before the appointment. So which is it, does it matter or doesn't it? Because if it doesn't, why was I even asked? After these interactions with the tech, I'd had enough and left without completing the exam. An MRI is not a routine, trivial procedure, it requires a technician I can trust knows what they're doing. Between her inability to place the IV correctly, her refusal to even try my other arm as I requested, and her lack of any clear answers when questioned, I had zero confidence in her competence. Add to that her consistently rude and dismissive manner, and I simply couldn't in good conscience continue with the exam. Given that Washington Radiology is associated with this location, I assumed it would be a more professionally run office! Guess not! Save yourself the inconvenience and schedule someplace else! read more

They don't even answer the phone at 11:30 AM trying to make an appointment! Reviews say it all!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am experiencing significant pain from my ankle and foot, and so far neither my podiatrist nor my orthopedist have been able to determine the cause. So my podiatrist prescribed in MRA. I went to Foxhall Washington Radiology early morning September 24. They told me the MRI images would be sent to both doctors the next day. Today, September 29, I called because my podiatrist had not received the MRI. I was told that the technician HAD NOT EVEN ANALYZED THE MRI YET - ONE WEEK LATER. So for a full week I have continued to be in pain, with no diagnosis even started, because Washington Radiology failed to do what they promised. Find somewhere else to get your MRI! read more

My bill had a significant error--a $400 payment at time of MRI was not counted--but their billing office is impossible to contact because the number they give when you call is incorrect. (My sympathies to the receptionist's office that keeps getting those misdirected calls.) read more

I was able to schedule with only a few days delay. Arrived a few minutes early, check in process was efficient and I was in the scanner right on time. Technician was accommodating and supportive in trying to make me comfortable. By the time I was dressed, a disk of the exam was ready for me to take to my doctor and a reading was available the next morning (I had an early evening appointment). Horrendous service. I called for a quote for an MRI. The office informed me via email, over the phone, and in person that I would simply pay my co-pay (less than $100). Nearly a year later, they billed me for approx. $700 and insisted that their endless forms took precedence over their incapable staff members and sketchy billing department. An MRI is inherently a rough procedure which was exacerbated by their inability to insert an IV into my veins. They tried for about 45 mins - like a bunch of high school students in science class - over and over again to the point where my arms were in severe enough pain that I was in tears. I used to come here often but this was my last time. MRIs are stressful enough but the front desk worker was so genuinely MEAN and unhelpful that I was practically in tears before I even made it back. No service in the building and no wifi, they make you feel like you're in trouble just for showing up. Male tech in the back was great but I think he felt bad about how rude the front desk woman was. There was absolutely no need for a care provider to act so cruel- I was tempted to just walk out and reschedule elsewhere. Kept threatening to cancel my appointment which they never did, I think she just used that to make me feel bad. read more

I went on time and was not received because hours given to us didnot match the ones at office. Had to do again the trip and then they staid with my Doctors exams request which I need to know and have blood tests. I would be very grateful if they could send me at my mail a copy of that sheet so I can proceed without having to go there again! For the third time! I have had very good experiences at the Foxhall location in the past. That has now changed. I contacted them on a Monday to schedule an appointment -- there was an opening the next week, which I requested. They did not telephone me to confirm the appointment until Wednesday (and they left a voice mail on my office number rather than the cell number I requested they use). I returned the call promptly, but got their voice mail and left a message, but they again did not get back to me. When I telephoned on Friday, they told me they had canceled the appointment I requested for the next week because I failed to get back to them. I explained to the receptionist that wasn't the case and she continued to insist that it was, suggesting that they tried to telephone me the prior month about this appointment (which made no sense, since I hadn't even requested the appointment until 5 days ago). She was extremely rude and dismissive and didn't understand that they had no basis for cancelling my appointment request. Until they have a new scheduler/receptionist, don't bother going to the Foxhall location. There are many other providers with better customer service who will be able to serve you. read more

A tale or two imaging centers: the first is the lady who answers the phone, is very empathetic, assures you there are headphones with music and eye shades forcthe claustrophobic, etc. The second is the actual experience: brusk, impatient, "no our music headphones are broken," and pardon us while we try to lock the knee device by pushing down hard on your painful knee and getting all pissed off when the device won't fit. I went for an MRI and before the procedure, on site, was told how much it would cost out of pocket with my insurance (over $500). About a month later I started to receive additional bills totaling more than $200 extra. My insurer (Aetna) said it was because Progressive billed for more than they quoted for; Progressive told me it was a problem I should take up with the insurer. I see it as both are at fault and neither have been helpful. For a scan where all the information was known before hand I should have been given an accurate estimate of the cost. Had I known the MRI (non essential) would have cost more than $800 I either wouldn't have gotten it done or would have, at the very least, consulted different providers. This lack of transparency and bait and switch pricing is indicative of why so many face financial ruin from simple health needs, or why many don't seek care for non-urgent problems: it's too great a financial risk when you never know what the final bill will look like. Sadly, Progressive Radiology appear to be part of that problem. read more

I know how much a good radiologist can make a difference and so, based on google reviews, I called Progressive MRI to set up an appointment. I have a connective tissue disorder and many things have been going wrong with my body while I was living abroad, requiring 6 MRIs for my hands, knee, and hips. I need these done by next week, as I have consults with several surgeons for a second opinion. I explained all of the above to the receptionist named Ms. Venessa at Progressive radiology, who schedule appointments. She asked that I email her a copy of all MRIs and she will call me right back to schedule the appointments after she has verified the papers. I waited all day and no one even bothered to call me back. When i called them back, a lady name Keisha said Venessa knows the details but she's busy, and so she'll get back to  me tomorrow. They treated me as if I am a difficult patient, and as if they are doing me a favor to schedule an appointment. When i asked why did they tell me they would call me right back, and make me wait all day, only to find ot they weren't even planning to call me back until tomorrow. I also asked them due to tight schedule, why it has to take so long to just schedule, and Keisha said I don't know what to tell you because its Venessa who you spoke to and she's very busy and can't come to the phone until tomorrow. I called back few hours later again but received same answer. I found it very unprofessional that they don't even return your calls as promised, and to give round around excuses to schedule appointments. They knew I am in pain, coming from VA to dc, yet, not even a simple apology for making me wait all day, and another 24hours, not to mention how ridiculous it is to hear such unnecessary and personal rude comments.    To make matter even worse, and disheartening actually, is how they treated me as if I am such a hassle when I told them that I have involuntary movements disorder in my legs(myotonic) and may require some additional assistance during my MRIs. I asked if they could give me some simple reminders during MRI sessions, for example if I am involuntarily moving too much, as my movements are very subtle and often, I can't tell at times if I am moving. The lady(I believe it was Keisha), said no, we have full schedule so we cannot stop for your personal needs. If you mess up, then you'll just have to take the imaging as is, then if your doctors are not happy, they have to write you a new script." I pleaded, I am sorry but this is an illness I don't have any control over, and that in the past, when radiology technician gave me a simple reminder between sections over the intercom. She still said no. Despite my hand pain, I feel a duty to let other patients know, If you have been suffering from, say a back pain, yet your doctors can't find answers, and require multiple MRIs, don't come here because they will treat you as if you are some hypochondria, or that these MRIs are unnecessary. In addition, IF you are suffering from any pain or involuntary movements, or muscle spasms/twitch due to pain, and may require some empathetic accommodation should you flinch during MRI, you don't want to go to Progressive MRI centers. I have had other MRI centers where they are willing to schedule me in the evening so that if I require a bit of extra time, they can accommodate me. Companies after maximizing profit and find patients with reasonable accommodation to be cumbersome, and lack any compassion, should not be tolerated by us- educated empowered consumers. read more

Threats of violence, violation of patients bill of rights and well below medical "standard of care" required of all medical facilities. I went for a late evening mri. Reception was very pleasant. I told the tech I have severe asthma and am at great risk for covid, and did they have any HEPA air filter machines in the MRI room, air exchangers or ventilation as patients in are in a closed space for about 30-40 minutes. These are standard of care in the Covid era. Tech acted very irritated at my questions was quite rude and said "there's no windows in there," apparently mishearing my question. I said I know, but most facilities, because covid has been around for a few years, have Medical grade HEPA filters, similar to the last place I'd had an MRI, and previously a CT scan. She just repeated no windows in an even more angry tone. I gave up on the question because of her stubborn and obtuse attitude. I then asked if I could leave my oxygen and asthma airway medications by the door to the exam room on her side table. She got even more hostile and said you can't take those in there. I told her I wasn't, I am extremely familiar with the protocols aroud High Tesla MRIs... I wanted to leave them on her desk because if I needed them, I would need them right away. She then started yelling and the receptionist came back into the area to see what was happening , and the Tech LIED saying I wanted to take all this extra gear into the exam room and I had demanded windows. I became angry at this and asked that she not lie and tried to explain to the receptionist that there is such a thing as "standard of care" and "Patients rights" and I was having very difficult time with this very angry tech, , THEN the tech threatened to hit me, saying I was treating that way because she was black, pulled her fist back and threatened to knock me out. I was SHOCKED. . Nothing could be further from the truth. I am filing a complaint tomorrow and considering asking for assault charges to be brought. This tech did not listen to me, argued with me, lied to the person who came in the room and accused me of racism and threatened violence because of it. read more

Summary: MISERABLE EXPERIENCE, EXTREMELY RUDE TECHNICIAN. I've gone here several times in years past and had very pleasant experiences, and I just went earlier tonight for what was supposed to be two consecutive MRIs. Unfortunately the tech refused to do the second one because I "only" arrived 15 minutes prior to my first one (as opposed to 30 minutes prior). It was their last appointment of the evening and I explained that my injury was an extremely painful and time-sensitive situation that might necessitate surgery, and I asked if she could please do both. In response, the tech not only continued to refuse to do the second MRI, but she was openly rude to the point of being flat out hostile. So now I have to reschedule the second MRI, which is going to significantly delay when I can see the surgeon and ultimately keep me in this painful state for a much longer time. I've never had such an unpleasant experience in a healthcare setting. read more

Stay Away !! I received a phone call on Friday at 6pm from Foxhall MRI to inform me that my appointment that I had scheduled for Saturday has been canceled because they were not going to be open. I asked why they did not tell me this when I scheduled the appointment. I was told "we are open on saturday, but some people cancelled and our tech lives kinda far away." Forget the medical necessity of my mri; and that I had to spend 60+ minutes on the phone with the insurance company and my doctor to get an approval. I would say there is a 0% percent chance that my doctor is in his office at 6:15pm on Friday. I explained that had they called me say a few hours ago, or maybe yesterday then at least I would be able to get an mri this weekend. Given that Foxhall MRI only does MRI(s) they most likely know the procedure involved, and maybe with that in mind it makes better "business" sense to call at 6PM on a Friday. I could of course wait until Monday, take off another day from work and they would be "glad enough to fit me in". No I think not. I can only wonder why so many people cancelled all at the same time. I do not care. I will take my business else where and you may want to do the same!! Good luck, you will need it. read more

I attempted to speak with the owner of the Foxhall MRI about a problem I experienced. No one was willing to provide that information. I went online and according to Linkedin, Raymond Tu claims to own Foxhall MRI. So I call Dr. Tu, he refused to say that he owned Foxhall and transferred the call to the receptionist. I called him back and again told him that I was a patient and not selling anything and that he might want to know what had happened. It was only after I told him that The District Givernment confirmed his ownership that he confessed that yes in fact he does own a part. I can only guess as to why the owner would not want to admit to his affliation or why he so quickly transferred the phone call. Maybe that my situation was Not an "isolated" incident. Maybe he receives many complaints, I do not know. What I do know is that they have a very odd way of conducting business. Nothing like receiving a phone call at 6pm on a Friday to learn that the MRI scheduled for the following morning has been cancelled because "their tech lives kinda far away and some people have canceled". Nice. So it is like a domino theory. First reschedule for 3 days later, reschedule the doctors appointment this week as I do not have an MRI, take off another day of work, and remain in bed as any treatment is "on hold" pending an MRI. It is odd when the owner of the company is dodging calls and not event will to admit that he is an owner. While I do not know the reason I can only imagine..... All that said, if you are in pain and need and MRI don't gamble. There are dozens of radiological services in and around Northwest Washington. read more

I saw Dr. Silverberg for two cortisone shots into my hip. I have to say, as someone with various joint issues (labral tear, ACL repairs etc.) I'm a big believer in supporting good doctors when you find them. Dr. Silverberg, and his entire team, have been fantastic. From booking at the front desk through the procedures themselves. Both he and his team are competent, efficient, informative, polite and friendly. I would recommend Dr. Silverberg and Foxhall MRI to anyone. I totally Love Foxhall! I went there late evening today and they were able to fit me in. The front desk young lady was polite and the technologist there talked to me the whole time and made me feel really comfortable. Not many businesses take the time to ensure patients are satisfied and comfortable. I just love them and I am glad my Doctor upstairs in that same building told me to go down to Foxhall. I will always use the Foxhall Facility whenever I need radiological services. Foxhall thanks for fitting me in and you have great staff. read more
